Speaker 1:

Hello you guys, and welcome to a mini mindset elevator from the Elevate with Erica podcast. I know I haven't done one of these in a while, but I do plan to start doing them on a more regular basis. So what I wanted to talk about today is something that I was talking about with my Instagram subscriber community, and that is using pain to make you into the person that you need to be for what is next for you, whether that be for your calling, whether that be for what God has planned for you. Whatever you believe in, brighter days are ahead, and this is just the rocky journey. To get there, you don't have to know where you're going, you just have to know where you're not staying, and you have to have the faith that where you are headed is better than where you have been. And that faith won't make it easy, but it'll make every step that you take away from what's not serving you possible.

Speaker 1:

Possible on the days when it's hard to just get out of bed Because, see, you were already uncomfortable, and it's easy to forget that when you're sitting in a new, unfamiliar discomfort, this pain you're in it isn't familiar to you, and so you start to think oh no, maybe, maybe I'm making a mistake. Am I doing the right thing? Because this really does not feel good this season. That I'm in right now just freaking sucks right and your brain will tell you that that discomfort you were sitting in is safe. It's safer just because it's familiar, but don't forget the pain that that discomfort caused you. That familiarity caused you pain, and the first step is recognizing that. The pain you've been sitting in, that pain that you've been diminishing, you've been trying to cope with alone. You've been brushing under the rug that pain. You've been saying, oh, it's not so bad, somebody has it worse. That's your pain and that pain isn't where you belong. Stop allowing that pain into your life.

Speaker 1:

If you want your next 10 years to be different than your last 10 years, then I want you to move into the unknown with me today and move with faith and move with intention away from what's causing you pain, whether it be person, place or thing. I need you to stop being a victim by choice and let this setback be your setup. This is your setup for something so damn great, my friend and I know right now it doesn't feel like it If you've already started to take steps away from what's not serving you and you're in that painful middle ground. I know right now it doesn't feel good, but I want to inspire you and encourage you to not go back, to keep walking in this unfamiliar discomfort. This is your setup for something and I am so excited for you. Together, we will rise from the pain that we feel today.

Speaker 1:

And, in case no one's told you, today you're doing amazing. I'm so proud of you for just getting out of bed today. I'm so proud of you for trying again today. I'm so proud of you for showing up today. I'm so proud of you. Until next episode, friend, amen and may the
