Sea a star, make a wish!

Many of us know how awful heat waves can be (I know I for one have been very glad to have access to AC this summer)... now imagine being underwater where it is even harder, if not impossible, to cool yourself down.

Marine invertebrates face many challenges, and heat is definitely one of them, but could kelp forests potentially help provide some protection for communities of invertebrates (like sea stars for example!) during heat waves?

Join me chatting with MSc (/PhD candidate) Dominique Maucieri about her research into this complex question!

For new listeners, this podcast is “Serious about research, and less serious about delivery” because our mission has always been approachability and a real-world approach to issues...

Please note I do not do a lot of editing and minor swearing comes up from time to time in episodes, so we hope you can sit back, learn something, and have a laugh with us!

The Anthropo Scene is an independent project started by young ecologists who are passionate about sharing interesting information surrounding the complicated story of introduced and invasive species around the world. It has now opened up to include more topics about Ecology and the interesting, and sometimes complicated ways that humans interact with nature.

Original music and audio edition for Season 3 by the talented Garret Baker from Quiet Sun Productions

This podcast continues in the loving memory of Nicholas McCarney.
