Speaker 1:

Hi everyone, welcome to the Inside Scoop podcast. I'm Jack Johnson.

Speaker 2:

And I'm Jill Johnson.

Speaker 1:

And we're here to tell you about the franchises that people have invested in over the past week. We're gonna tell you why people invested in them. We're gonna tell you how much they potentially or how much they make on average, how much they cost and what makes them so cool. Jill, what do you think? This is a pretty eclectic mix of franchises.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, think this is a pretty, this is pretty eclectic mix of franchises. Yeah, no, it's a good mix I was just looking over them, and there's ones that we've talked about before and ones that are new to me. I haven't seen them here for a while, so it's actually a very good mix you know.

Speaker 1:

I mean, that's the thing, and for all of you that are listening the, the value to you and um listening and watching our podcast is that j and I are franchise consultants. We work with over 500 franchises. We've been in the franchise industry for 20 years. The way franchise consultants like us work is that we do not charge for our services, and when we help someone become a franchise owner, our firm gets paid a commission. What makes us unique is that we actually take a portion of that commission and we rebate it back to our clients, and that's how we're able to save you two to $10,000 on your franchise. So make sure you go visit us at FranchiseInsiderscom. We pull our list from the franchises that we help people buy each week, as well as the 700 other franchise consultants that we're affiliated with. So that's how we bring you guys this data. And so let's dive in Jill this week. The first one is a franchise called Amoco double A-M-C-O. Remember the old commercial?

Speaker 2:

No, I don't remember the commercial. I know the name, I know the logo, not the commercial.

Speaker 1:

It's kind of like I remember it from being a kid. This is a legacy. Yeah, four years older than you, come on. But I'll tell you what is old is Amoco, because they've got 60 years of franchise expertise.

Speaker 2:

He's older than us, okay.

Speaker 1:

And they have. What is it? The median annual gross sales of the operating centers per year was $670,000. So there you go, there's what Amoco makes. I think they show the average annual gross sales of an operating center was $792,000. So you know, listen, if you can net 10% and make 60, 70 grand per operating center. Listen, here's how it would work. Okay, maybe I want to make 180,000 a year. Well, I better buy three Amicos.

Speaker 2:

But Jill, what is Amico? What do they do? Yeah, I mean, that's important for you guys to know. So they are basically the leader in transmission in total calls car services, so like they'll take care of your car, so something's wrong with it, you bring it in, but they have been around for so long that you can trust them. They're number one in the industry. They're the only national transmission specialty franchise, so they really know what. They're number one in the industry. They're the only um national transmission specialty franchise, so they really know what they're doing. So they really like, have that established. They've been in the game for a while, um, and they have this um iconic double a beep, beep.

Speaker 2:

and hey, that's what you were saying see double a beep MCO, which brings instant recognition and trust to the consumer.

Speaker 1:

So everyone that saw those commercials I was a baby, Double A MCO.

Speaker 2:

No, but again, you know it's a brand, it's a trusted brand, it's something that you know. You feel confident seeing They've been around for a long time.

Speaker 1:

Well, here's what I like.

Speaker 2:

You've got that brand like stability.

Speaker 1:

They're saying, as cars evolve with more technology, including hybrids and EVs, amoco uses its tech training and reputation to capture a significant market share with complex repairs. So they can do it. They know how to fix EVs. So listen, you know what you want a safe recession, resistant, boring business. And, by the way, boring businesses are cool. We own a window washing franchise folks. Boring is great. Um, amco would be one to look at. We can save you $10,000 on your Amoco franchise. The franchise fee is a reasonable 39,500 total investment. Two, 34 to three, 53. I mean considering how big the, I mean the kind of space you need for this.

Speaker 2:

that seems super reasonable. You're fixing cars and you need the machines and the specialty mechanics and everything but again once that's established.

Speaker 1:

Well, let's try and make this make sense. So I'm spending, let's say, 350,000 getting my Amoco open and profitable to where I don't have to pump any of my cash into it anymore. Let's assume then that it's grossing this. I'm making this average. Let's say I'm the medium guy right, 670,000 gross, and let's say I'm a really good franchise owner and I'm netting 20% by about year three. So I'm netting about $120,000 and I spent $350,000 getting it open. I need about three, four years to get profitable on my Amoco.

Speaker 1:

So as we look at franchises, this is kind of what we look at Safe, boring, needed business check. Fairly low investment check. Opportunity to make our money back within five years check. So I think Amoco is definitely a franchise that is worth your consideration and when you factor we can save you 10 grand makes it even more worth it. So remember your text is at 305-710-0050 to get connected to Amoco through Franchise Insiders. Jill next up best choice roofing with the average location gross of above $6 million. For those of you that listen to our we Bought a Franchise podcast go to weboughtafranchisecom. You can hear our client, harrison, talk about his experiences as a first-year franchise owner who's already grossing seven figures with his business and only working 20 hours a week with his business.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, he has too much time on his hands. He's bored. I love that.

Speaker 1:

Why else do we buy a best choice roofing?

Speaker 2:

So I mean again they. Their growth has been amazing. So they started with one tiny location and now they have over 40 locations, a thousand employees, like they're growing. It's a great industry. It's roofing, it's roofing.

Speaker 1:

You get a roof on your house and in some cases they can get your roof done in one day.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so, and it's recession proof. So again you got to fix your roof, no matter what is going on, right? So it's one of those, you know, home services, businesses that you just can't go wrong with. It's not something you necessarily think about every single day, but everyone needs it.

Speaker 1:

So with Best Choice, the franchise fee is $59,500. The total investment is up to $193,000. Let's I mean again if I were making $6 million and gross and I was netting 10%, that's like $600,000. And I spent hold on, let me make sure I have this right I spent 193,000.

Speaker 1:

You're doing pretty good, I can make my money back on a roofing franchise in under two years. Potentially, right, no guarantees folks. That gets a huge green light for us and we can save you $10,000 on Best Choice. So make sure you text us 305-710-0050. Jill next up HomeWell Care Services. They provide in-home care, in-home senior care for seniors who want to stay at home versus go to an assisted living facility or memory care. Their average franchise location is doing a million nine. That's actually higher than normal because the average home care type of franchise um usually does about a million two million four. Home house numbers are even better. Uh, jill any. Any other additional details you want to add on I?

Speaker 2:

think we just we see senior care almost every single week every week um, honestly, even if we don't talk about it, it's selling every single week. It's just whether or not there's territories available, but it's just one of those. Again, it's recession proof.

Speaker 2:

I think I say this all the time. In Jack, it was like everyone's getting older. People are getting older. We can't stop it. So the need for these types of services are always going to be there. So it's you know, regardless if there's 10 or 11 or 12 or 13 in your area, you're going to need those services and you're going to, you know, still get enough business. It's, it's, it's something that is, and it's it's one of those feel good franchises You're helping people, are helping families do well by doing good do well by doing good.

Speaker 2:

I'll never, you say it.

Speaker 1:

Some people say, do well by doing well, you know, but it's um, it's important to know this is a business that you really should be full-time in it. Now that doesn't mean your life's over. Like our client Hector, who we had on the we Bought a Franchise podcast a couple weeks ago who owns a Senior Helpers franchise. He said, look, if I want to go golf on Friday, I go golf on Friday Again. Folks, this is like who you see in your office, right? Who's effective at managing their time. If you can delegate, if you can build a team, even with a home care business.

Speaker 1:

I was in the business and we had a life. We went to Hawaii for a month while I was in the home care business. So you can still have more personal financial freedom than with a franchise, even with a full-time franchise like HomeWell, than you can with your day job. So text us at 305-710-0050 to see how we can save you $5,000 on your HomeWell Jill. The next up on the list is Pinks. One of our clients invested in a Pinks franchise and those of you who know us know we own a Pinks Windows Services franchise. I want to share that. They came out with their new item 19 numbers.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, right, amazing franchise um, I want to share that. They came out with their new item 19 numbers.

Speaker 1:

Oh, yeah, right amazing and um, they're showing like a 750 000. I've got to hold on, I've got to find it while I'm looking this up. Jill, why do we own a pinks franchise? Why did we invest in that franchise?

Speaker 2:

you know it's funny. I feel like we keep talking about this every week, but it's because pinks is selling every week, also coupled with the fact that they are a part of Resi Brands, who is very, very strong in franchising and provides tremendous support.

Speaker 2:

Awesome support Such a great back end and just like such a wonderful company to work for that you really feel like you have this support team and people helping you out. So, coupled with Resi Brands, pinks itself we love the brand, it's amazing but also it's home services, which is something that we tend to really um migrate to because, again, dirty businesses, home services are something everyone needs. Window washing, pressure washing, I mean, it's like I, I, I joke, and you'll hear me say this almost every time everyone has windows, there's windows everywhere, but then there's pressure washing, so there's there's so many avenues of revenue, um and upsell that it's just one of those like no brainers but a couple of that with Rezzy brands, couple that with an amazing brand, um that pinks, is really built for itself.

Speaker 2:

It just really felt like such an amazing opportunity and so far it's been great, yeah, week over week.

Speaker 1:

Um, and here's something really cool, is that? So Rezi um does all of our Facebook and Instagram and Google marketing for us? Um, the pink skies, the founders, um, brandon and Carter, they're just so, they're cool, right, and so they're like the stars of our commercials. For the first few weeks, like, nobody responded, right, we had all that stuff running on on facebook and google. Nobody cared. Right now, all of a sudden. Now, all of a sudden, jill. It's like last week, I think 80 of our clients came from, uh, instagram, facebook, google ads that were generated from the resi team do you know what I think is so cool?

Speaker 2:

I've seen people just share our ad I have two I mean, I've seen really cool ads but I've never like felt compelled to just share yeah, here, check this out, check out this window washing company it's like you just shared it just for fun and I don't even know who you are. It's not like. It's like you know my, my like mom sharing something. For me it's like a total stranger seeing our, our cool ad and sharing it. So, anyway, the support that we get from them is amazing. So really, it's just overall.

Speaker 1:

I want to talk about this new item 19. Yeah, this is from the Austin location, so real quick, though the point is some weeks you have awesome weeks on social media, some weeks you don't, but in this case, like it generated a ton of business for us no, no complaints.

Speaker 1:

um, okay, so um, the new item 19 from the ftd for pinks shows a gross revenue of 750 748 000. They account for direct labor, field supplies, appointment center, brand fund, royalty fees, all that. They're showing a net income of 358 000, or a net profit percentage of near 48%. Wow, I mean, that's pretty sick, yeah, and that's why we bought PINX as a franchise. So that's just proof of what kind of opportunity exists in home services businesses. And if you want to talk to us about PINX, please do text me at 305-710-0050. Happy to share with you why it's such a cool window cleaning.

Speaker 2:

Also, if you guys want to learn a little bit more about that, we do have another podcast where we talk specifically more about our experience as franchise owners, so tune into that.

Speaker 1:

It's called we Bought a Franchise, Go to WeBoughtAFranchisecom. And today on WeBoughtAFranchisecom we had our good friend, Catherine Allen, who she bought a franchise called Soccer Stars.

Speaker 2:

Which is next on our?

Speaker 1:

list Just last year. See how we do that, folks. This is a professional operation, we knew what we were doing with that one.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so Soccer Stars. I love this cryptocallage because even Catherine was telling us again, you have customers as a soccer stars franchise owner, you have customers from age one until literally college and then after that they can be your coaches. But you're taking these kids and their siblings. I mean you really have a solid business with that and the referrals.

Speaker 2:

Um, catherine was telling us too, just with the culture and the fact that it's soccer and it's kids and it's fun and it's afterschool and you know there are some programs, I think, during school that you can incorporate, like with elementary schools and um, preschools and that type of thing. But you have people that want to work there, that want to be there, that want to be a part of this like fun culture. So you know it combines, um, you know, kids and learning and development. It's just really one of those again like a feel good company and it's a culture that people want to buy into, whether they're a customer or want to work for you Right, it's a cool franchise, yeah it's very cool and you know they teach like teamwork and it's not just soccer, it's like all the skills.

Speaker 2:

So you know something you can really feel good about and also just fun. And also the hours are mostly like after school or you have a couple of things during the day, so you know you're not working. You know crazy hours. You can incorporate it into your schedule.

Speaker 1:

I mean shoot Catherine was.

Speaker 2:

we met Catherine out of nowhere in the Bahamas a few weeks ago and she was you know able to manage her business from afar, because she's got a good, you know GM in place, but you can also do your business from afar. Like Jack had mentioned in the conversation we just had with her is we're having a great time in the Bahamas, but she still has to do payroll. So, you can still run your business and enjoy that work life balance.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and look, it's a low investment franchise. Forty nine thousand five hundred is the franchise fee. Total investment ranges up to about one hundred six thousand. But again, doing our math, if the average unit volume can reach $1.3 million and I can net 10% or $130K per year, I'm going to make my money back pretty fast. Jill last on the list is Spray Foam Genie. Spray Foam Genie is spray foam insulation. It's a cool business. I mean in their item 19,. It's spray foam insulation. It's a cool business. I mean in their item 19,. They show a $500,000 location net. That's huge. They can do business to business and business to consumer, meaning that they can do the insulation for your home, but they can also do the insulation for your business and it's that cool like spray foam.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, spray foam. So according to them it's better for the environment. It's um better actually insulating than the traditional insulation, because it can get in all the little like nooks and crannies and stuff um, and so it's more efficient overall. So not only is it easier to install on their end, but for the customer, they're going to get a lot more of that insulation from not just hot and cold but from moisture and bugs and pests and all of that. So win-win for everyone.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and they have the franchise investor model, which they have a team that actually helps the franchise owners to run their business. Now let's not get confused. That doesn't mean they're going to 100% run your business for you, but they are there to help you run your business. They are there to help you manage your team, but you still need to be the one that leads and manages your team. You still need to be the one that is urgent to drive sales and and uh, make sure that your business is growing.

Speaker 1:

But with the kind of numbers that spray foam genie can do, I mean I think the average uh consumer insulation job spray foam insulation jobs like eight grand and I know they can do commercial jobs, you know, from 50 to a hundred K, so great business. Um, spray foam genie, I think the franchise fee is right, around 60 K total investment, probably closer to half a million. But again, if it's a business that can net 500 K once it gets established and it's been rolling for a while, that's a good investment. And again, insulation folks, every building needs it, so it's a nice safe you can do new construction.

Speaker 2:

You can do it when you're doing like a remodel. So again, a lot of opportunity there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, these are I mean again, such diversity, that's what I like. You know there's over 3,500 franchises out there and we probably work with about 500 of them. But just to see every week the businesses that people buy and invest in and why what fits them, you know it's really cool and we're just so excited to be a part of it and we'd love to help you with your franchise search. Or even if you're already searching for a franchise and working with someone else and you just want a second opinion, text us 305-710-0050. But for this week, jill, that's all I've got.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I, I'm with you. I think, um, I love the diversity, I love being able to share this with you guys. Be interested to hear, like of this list, what you guys were drawn to, because, again, it's kind of like what makes the world go round right, like we chose one particular one. You know, are you interested in that, so I love being able to share these because you know you may not be interested in spray foam, but soccer stars is is like peaks your interest. So, um, that's what we do, that's our job.

Speaker 1:

We're here to show you those, um, and hopefully find the one that fits you. Yeah, and you know what else do you? If you want to see what it's like to be a franchise owner, give a listen to our. We bought a Franchise podcast. Go to weboughtafranchisecom, where every week we are interviewing current franchise owners and we're weaving in stories about what we're experiencing as franchise owners. But for this week, on the Inside Scoop podcast, I'm Jack and I'm Jill, and we'll talk to you next week. Bye.
