Welcome back to the Raising Elite Competitors podcast. I'm Coach Brie, a mental performance coach for girl athletes, and I'm so excited that you're here. Whether you are a mom with a lot of sports seasons under your belt maybe you are very experienced or you're just getting going on this sports journey with your daughter this podcast is for you to know how to raise a confident, mentally strong girl athlete, and that is exactly what we're talking about on today's episode. This episode is actually a 48 hour special, so this will only be up for the next 48 hours. I am posting the live training that I have been doing for the past couple of weeks. We've done six of these live trainings so far and I know a lot of you either wanted to come but the times didn't work out for you or you missed it, so I decided to pop it on the podcast so that you could listen to it on the go. So in this training it is live, by the way. So you will notice some of those elements, but I'm doing some Q and a at the end, things like that.
Speaker 1:But we dive into how to help your athlete bounce back from mistakes. That's a very common thing that I hear from a lot of parents is. She spirals after mistakes or she lets one turn into two and three and she just hesitates. So we'll talk about the bounce back in a snap method that you can help her with. I also talk about how to help her release the pressure that she's feeling. So a lot of you have athletes who are struggling with perfectionism and they just have these unrealistic standards that they've set for themselves. So we'll talk about how she can release some of that and how to flip her negative mindset. So if you have an athlete that is really hard on herself especially after a game she's beating herself up, she's super negative how to help her flip that to more productive self-talk. And, like I said, I do some Q&A at the end, so you'll hear from some questions that other moms have been asking, so hopefully that helps out too. But I just want you to enjoy this. This is the longer one, so put it on in the background on your walk, on your car ride.
Speaker 1:Also, in this training we talk about the elite mental game. This is our signature self-paced mental training program for girl athletes, and right now we are in a winter enrollment special just until Friday, january 31st, though. So I talk about all the pricing discount and bonuses that we have going on right now for EMG, so you can actually get a 50% discount on the program, plus our Ditch the Drama training bundle, a free ticket to a peak performance clinic happening on Sunday called how to Stay Motivated Through the Grind, plus some other really cool bonuses that we're doing just right now for this winter enrollment special that expires on Friday, january 31st. So you will hear all about that, all about the program, and if you do have other questions as you're listening, feel free to reach out, dm me. I'm at Elite Competitor Coach on Instagram or email hello at elitecompetitorcom and we are there, ready to answer your questions. All right, enjoy this one and I'll see you in the next episode. All right, enjoy this one and I'll see you in the next episode.
Speaker 1:Hello everybody, welcome moms, welcome dads. If you're a dad coming in here, so excited that you're here with me live, I'm Coach Bree. If I haven't met you, you are here for the do's and the don'ts of strengthening your athlete's mental game. So if you are supposed to be here, that's what we're doing today. I'm so excited that you're catching this is actually our last live training of this series, so love that you're here catching this with us. Go ahead and pop open your chat. We're going to be using our chat a lot during this training. So, first thing, just let me know where are you coming from. What sports does your daughter play? Go ahead and pop that in the chat for us so we can see, like, who's represented. And I, um, oh my God, chicago, philly, volleyball, wrestling, soccer, basketball a lot of multi-sport athletes. I love that. Colorado, any Pacific Northwesterners. I'm from Washington. It's coming in fast, so, potentially, oh, I just see a Washington. Very cool, um, so excited that you're here. I am Coach Brie.
Speaker 1:I'm the co-founder of the Elite Competitor. Christina is the other co-founder and she is on the call today as well. She's going to be in the chat answering questions, helping you out. We have Abby here. She's our operations manager, who will also be helping out in the chat, and Coach Melinda she's one of the parent coaches in our program is here. Coach Saylor, one of our athlete coaches, will be on in a little bit as well. So we've got the whole gang people here to support you and we're gonna have an awesome training together right now. Awesome, okay, we've. Oh, port Angeles. Susan, love that area. I lived on Whidbey Island for a little bit, so totally like that Puget Sound area.
Speaker 1:But we're going to get into the do's and the don'ts of strengthening your athlete's mental game. We have a lot to cover. I'm a fast talker, but I know you can. You'll be able to pace with it and, like I said, we're going to be using our chat a lot today, so keep that popped open. Also, if you can locate where your Q&A is, I know on Zoom there's a chat and then there's a Q&A, because, as you have questions throughout the training, pop your questions in the Q&A. We'll have our team answering those and I will answer some of them live at the end as well. All right, let's get into it. Welcome everybody. Yes, jim, we're recording. Thanks for the reminder, though.
Speaker 1:All right, the whole reason why this training exists is because I've actually been a head volleyball coach for the past 12 years. I'm a mom as well, but I used to just get so sad and tired of watching my own athletes spiral after mistakes, play really good in practice, and then we would show up to a match and I'd be like wait, is this, is this a different team? Like we were doing so well in practice. Why are we falling apart here and then just really beat themselves up. And as a mom, I know, or a dad, you're here. As a dad, you're welcome to be here. I know you feel this too.
Speaker 1:Okay, give me a yes in the chat if this sounds like a conversation you have had at the dinner table or the car ride home. I'm just trying to convince her that she is good enough. Come on, you are good enough, you do have the skills. You do belong on this team. They wouldn't put you on this team if you didn't have it. Yeah, absolutely. Some of you are like, yeah, you know what Last weekend? Basically the whole tournament, this is what I was talking about. How about this one? Give me a yes If this sounds familiar.
Speaker 1:I worry that how she handles things in her sport is how she will handle them in her life. Like not speaking up, being taken advantage of, you know, giving up when things get hard, or feeling like she is less than yeah, absolutely. It's like you're getting a glimpse into how she's handling challenges in her sport and you're like, oh my gosh, this is transferring everywhere else. Right, how about this one? Give me a yes If this resonates. I know as a mom myself, it resonates for me.
Speaker 1:Her mental health is something I worry about. I don't want her sport to tear her down, and the stories I hear, frankly, of other athletes kind of scare me. It's like, wow, they've got it all together from the outside, high performing. On the inside they're struggling and I had no idea, right? Yeah, absolutely, and you're right to worry about this. Okay, athlete mental health is a concern all the way from the rec league, whether your daughter is just starting her sport or she's going off to play in college or is in college. And thankfully we do have athletes who are using their platforms to kind of shed light on this. We saw a lot around Simone Biles this summer, but it doesn't just happen at this elite level where we hear these athletes talking about it. I'm so glad that they are, because these things happen all the way down to the middle school level.
Speaker 1:And as a mom, again, I'm here with you. We're struggling and balancing this tightrope of how do I help her, how do I encourage her without pushing too hard. I want to encourage her towards her goals, but I don't want to burn her out or cause her to want to quit her sport. Yeah, I see you, krista, and unfortunately most moms believe these three harmful myths when they're trying to build confidence in their daughters. Number one she's naturally going to build confidence with more experience.
Speaker 1:Now this makes sense. It's like, well, once she just gets on that team or place for that coach, like it'll just get better. I'm telling you right now, as a former college athlete myself, the higher that I went in my sport, the more teams that I got on, the more levels that I climbed, the harder it was Okay. The more that was expected of me, the more pressure there was to perform Right. So she's not going to naturally just build it. In fact, it's only going to be harder for her and it's going to expose the fact that she doesn't have these skills. How about this one? It's just a phase. It's going to get better with the next team, kind of same thing. This is likely not a phase If she doesn't have the skills to navigate the normal parts of being an athlete nerves, pressure, comparison, mistakes, setbacks, all of those things.
Speaker 1:Most athletes do not have the skills because number three we expect them, their coaches, to teach them, but most coaches are not trained in this and so it's not going to get better if she doesn't have that foundational concept. And number three her coach will teach her to play with confidence. Put a yes in the chat If you've heard something like this from your daughter's coach she has all the physical ability, it's just her mind holding her back, or she's very talented, it's just her, her confidence. She needs to increase her confidence and you're like're like well, can you teach her how to do that? You know, and it's not that coaches don't care about this. Okay, they absolutely do. In fact, you know, I talk to coaches all the time and I am a coach myself. They're like I need them to be mentally stronger and but they don't know how to teach it right.
Speaker 1:I had to go back five years into my coaching career. You know. I was a long-time teacher. I have a master's in education, head volleyball coach, but I had to go back to become certified as a mental performance coach so that I could teach these skills to my kids, and most coaches don't do that right. I'd use my own time, my own money, my own resources, but I knew I could help more. I could do more for my players. All right, and that's exactly why we've created the Unstoppable Athlete Method. This is the method that I've used to coach my high school volleyball team all the way to four-time state champions. We just won our fourth state championship this past fall, which was amazing.
Speaker 1:I mean, talk about the mental game like that championship match. That's what it came down to. Sorry for another time, but it's like. If there's any proof that the mental game matters, it was in that match, but also with thousands of moms and girl athletes inside the elite mental game. That's our signature mental training program, um, where we work with girl athletes to increase their confidence and mental strength, and I'm going to break down the unstoppable athlete method all all around. How moms are saying this Now. They're like my daughter used to get super upset on the court and now she's a leader of her team. She's bouncing back faster. Amelia, one of our athletes, said I have a stronger relationship now with my mom because our sport isn't something that is adding more stress to our relationship, which I hope. That sounds like a relief for you.
Speaker 1:Now, before we dive into the bulk of our training, I do have a few quick details to share and if you're just coming in, welcome. Let us know, open up your chat, let us know where are you coming from, what sports does your daughter play and for being here live. I mentioned at the beginning, this is our last live training, so good on you for being here because you caught it. But I have a gift. I have actually multiple gifts that we're going to be giving away throughout this for being here live, and the first one is our 25 key phrases PDF. This is our like cheat sheet so you can bring this with you to your daughter's game and she will have it. You'll have it. You know key things to say before, during and after she competes. Now I think I just saw Abby drop the link for this in the chat. What you're going to do and Abby, why don't you do that again? Um, what you're going to do is either click the Facebook thank you Facebook link or the Instagram link, and it will take you to my Instagram or my Facebook DMs. That stands for direct message. I like honestly don't make fun of me. I just learned that like kind of recently, but that will trigger our chat.
Speaker 1:Assistant, gabby. She actually is a bot, so be nice to her. She is going to ask you for your email address and then she'll shoot that over to your inbox, okay, so that is what it looks like. You can also just DM me the word key. So that is what it looks like. You can also just DM me the word key I'm at elite competitor coach. Give us a follow if you haven't already, and once that lands in your inbox, go ahead and respond back to that Just with the words got it? Just, we make sure that Gabby actually got it to your inbox, so we'll be sharing this also at the end of the training in case you don't get it now. Okay, so that is that. That's 25 key phrases. So that is that. That's 25 key phrases.
Speaker 1:Okay, also, state of the art, we're going to be talking about the Elite Mental Game. Like I said, this is our signature mental training program for girl athletes and we are in a winter enrollment special right now, but only until tomorrow. Tomorrow is the last day, so we have a really good pricing discount on it. We have some bonuses and one person is going to win a free spot inside the program for being on here live. Welcome those of you that are coming in, by the way.
Speaker 1:Okay, also, for those of you who decide the elite mental game is your next step, you want to work with us? We are throwing in the Ditch the Drama training bundle for free, all right. So this is our training bundle, where we help athletes navigate how to talk to their coach, how to deal with teammate drama, because a lot of times it's like they're like I don't know, I don't want to talk to my coach, and you're like, just talk to them Most of the time. They just don't know how. Okay, so we teach them our five-step framework on how to advocate for themselves, including how to have those tough conversations with their coaches. Hey guys, those of you that are putting key in the chat, that's not going to work. We have to. You have to go to my Instagram or my um or my Facebook. So, um, abby will drop that link again, but that's what you need to click in order to get that. Yeah, drama everywhere I hear you. It's like, uh, okay. So this gives them a path to be able to actually navigate that. And also, at the end I've mentioned this we're going to do a live Q&A. So if you have questions as we're going on, drop it in the Q&A section of Zoom. Okay, so there's a little Q&A. It's kind of separate from your chat, but if you just drop your questions in there, the team will be in there responding, and then they'll also be grabbing questions for me to answer at the end. All right, let's get into it.
Speaker 1:I have worked with thousands of girl athletes and they all share very similar goals, and I'm curious if your daughter has shared a goal with you. Go ahead and put in the chat If you know what one of your daughter's goals is. I hear things like I want to make varsity. I want to get a college scholarship. Okay, I want to play at the next level. I want to be a leader of my team. I also hear things like I want to enjoy my sport again. Oh, yeah, learn to like, learn a skill overhand, serve, play division one break certain times in swimming events. Yes, all of these are amazing. She wants to be a leader, she wants to make the best team.
Speaker 1:And when I ask them well, this sounds great, but what's holding you back? They say things like this I feel pressured to be perfect. Right, I tear myself down, I practice, well, but it doesn't seem to translate to the game. Okay, yeah, all of these things. You know what? And when they're telling themselves these things, they're right. They're absolutely right, because confidence is developed in your daughter's mind first, before it's visible in her sport. In order for her to reach those goals, she first has to take care of what is she telling herself about? These things, and most athletes are not telling themselves the things that will actually get them closer to their goals. The power of the mind is enormous, and that's exactly why you're here.
Speaker 1:We're going to do a little activity together. This is something that I do with all athletes in our program, and I want you to do it with me right now. Now, if you are driving, obviously you're not going to be able to do this, but if you're not, go ahead and stand with me. Okay, very simple. You're not going to hurt yourself, don't worry. Okay, so stand with me. This will take like less than two minutes.
Speaker 1:All you're going to do is put your thumb out in front of your face. Okay, you standing with me. I want you to give your thumb. Oh, I got a little thumb on my video too, cool. Okay, you're going to look at your thumb, Look at your nail, look at your nail bed. Maybe give it a little wiggle. Now you're going to open up your body, and when you can't go any further, I want you to stop. So I'm going to open up.
Speaker 1:Getting to the first state championship trophy, the 2021. I'm going to come back. Put that thumb in front of my face, put it down by my side. You should have a spot in your room where you couldn't go any further. Okay, you're gonna close your eyes and I want you now just to imagine. Okay, visualize yourself putting your thumb back in front of your face. See yourself opening your body up. You're just doing this in your mind. See yourself opening to that place in your room where you couldn't go any further. Now I want you to imagine that you're pushing past that point just a couple of inches, creating a new spot in your room. See yourself putting your thumb back in front of your face. Put it down by your side. Open your eyes. Okay, thumb out in front of your face. Let's do this together. You're going to open up to that place where you couldn't go any further. Now, open to that second spot that you visualized. Put your thumb back in front of your face, down by your side. Open your chat. Give me a yes in the chat if you were able to go further the second time after you visualized yes, all right.
Speaker 1:Angie, corinne, jamie, elise Okay, you guys all followed directions. I saw a heck, yeah, oh, even further. Okay, amazing, when I do this with athletes, they're like did you just do magic on me, did you just do like some voodoo thing? And I'm like, absolutely not. No, this was mental training. Your body was capable the first attempt and the second attempt. What changed what you told yourself?
Speaker 1:Your daughter's mind can both limit her. You see that happening when she, when she's like I'm just, I'm not good enough, I'm not the best defender, I'm not good at defense, not the best defender, I'm not good at defense, I'm not good, and you're like what? Okay, it's limiting her, but it also can allow her to achieve more than she ever thought possible. She will not reach her potential until she trains her mind. We rely on the elite performance formula.
Speaker 1:In order for your daughter to reach her goals, whether that goal is to play in college or that goal is to enjoy her sport again, she needs three things knowledge of the sport, physical training and mental training. It's like a three-legged stool. We need all three. It's also like a multiplication problem, and so they all amplify each other. So when one increases, the whole thing increases. She gets closer to her potential and her goals. So we see that when she puts in more physical practice, yeah, she's going to get better at her sport. She's going to know more about her sport. Her mental training is probably going to improve a little bit, because mental training is where her confidence lives. So when she gets more competent, she gets more confident.
Speaker 1:But here's the deal I'm going to take you back to, like I don't know, sixth grade geometry what happens when you throw a zero into a multiplication problem? Anyone, anyone, remember Zero? Yeah, thank you, ellen. Ellen remembers. So does Krista. Zero, thank you, ellen. Ellen remembers, so does Krista. Okay, the whole thing cancels out. And this is typically what we see. Okay, we see athletes who are training hard, they're putting in the work, but they have no time dedicated to their mental training, and I mean mental training. How did? How fast they come back from mistakes? Okay, how did they deal with pressure, nerves, comparison all the normal things that all athletes face? Most athletes are not training that part of their game. So at best they're going to be like below their potential and at worst they might end up walking away, burning out and not playing the sport that they love anymore.
Speaker 1:And that was my story. I'm not going to go too deep into it, but I was a talented athlete. I played volleyball. I was highly recruited from the outside. You'd think I had it all together because I was, like you know, the leading stat, or leading stats every night. You know, okay, she's, she's, she's going places. I ended up quitting after my senior season because the pressure was too much and no one was talking about it. No one was talking about what athletes go through, like these normal things, like 16 years ago or whatever. Now, long story short, I did get an opportunity to walk on at a division two program here in Washington, a phenomenal volleyball program that actually prioritized the mental side of the game, you know, coach the whole athlete, and so I was able to learn some of these skills. By the time I was a senior, I was a full ride, scholarship athlete, enjoying my sport again, realizing that, hey, all athletes deal with nerves, pressure, comparison, mistakes, all the things. And now I actually had tools to get over them.
Speaker 1:The good news is your daughter doesn't have to wait until she's in college. She doesn't have to quit her sport and then, you know, have some sort of I got lucky. You know, your, these skills are accessible to your daughter in middle school and in high school, and that's exactly why we do what we do. Average athletes and parents think that the key to more reps is more physical practice. Okay, and then they're surprised and they're frustrated to not see the results they want, whereas elite, confident athletes and parents know it starts in the mind first. And I want to be clear when we say elite, you're going to hear that word a lot. I do not mean just athletes that are going on to play in college or beyond. That's not what we mean when we say elite.
Speaker 1:Elite to us is this three things she's enjoying her sport. Now, that doesn't mean it's fun all the time. It's not rainbows and butterflies Like. My daughter's soccer team is literally called the rainbow butterfly girls and I was like, are we setting her up for unrealistic expectations? No, like, it's not always going to be fun, but at it's at their core. They should be enjoying what they're doing. Number two they have the skills to navigate the normal parts of being an athlete comparison, nerves, setbacks, challenges, all those. And number three they're playing to their potential, whatever that is. We know all athletes have all different sorts of potential. They're playing to theirs, but those type of athletes know it starts up here.
Speaker 1:Plus, trading her mental game is like an insurance policy. You're already investing time, money, resources into her sport. Training her mental game is guaranteeing she's going to get an ROA on that. But mental skills have to be taught in practice, they're not just picked up along the way. So let's break this all down how to help develop this confidence in your daughter. We're going to break down the unstoppable athlete method. There are three parts to this Bouncing back in a snap, releasing the pressure and flipping her negative mindset. Okay, so we're going to go deeper into all three of these things. First one how to help your daughter bounce back in a snap. And if you're just coming in, welcome.
Speaker 1:We have our chat open. We're telling us you know everybody where we're coming from, what sports your daughter plays. We're also gonna be using the chat a lot, doing some giveaways. In fact, let's do a little giveaway. Right now. It's our last live training, so we're gonna do more giveaways than normal. Our first giveaway is for some coffee. Your next coffee is on us. Let's see, claudia, claudia, our team will reach out to you. Hey, claudia, you just got your next coffee on us. We'll reach out to you, um, to give you that. All right, let's keep participating in the chat because, um, like I said, it's our last live training, so we're going, we're going all out, we're just going to do some. We're just gonna do some good giveaways here.
Speaker 1:All right, let's talk about bouncing back in a snap. We know the athlete that can move through mistakes fastest has the greatest competitive advantage and, honestly, has the most fun. So tell me in the chat right now, how long does your daughter's sport allow her give her to get over a mistake? Seconds, minutes, hours, days, um, if she's playing volleyball and like, how long, how many seconds volleyball, she has about 15 seconds between the next serve, okay, yeah, some of you that have like swimmers, gymnasts, golfers, like it all varies. Like some of you have no time. Some of your athletes are like she's gotta get back into it.
Speaker 1:The problem is it takes most athletes longer than they're allowed in their sport to get over mistakes. Some of you have athletes who take minutes, hours. They're still ruminating on mistakes days later and you're like what? That just happened, okay, that like why are we not over that? Well, average athletes are on or off and they blame it on things out of their control. They're like the ref, the weather, the crowd size, like all of these things. They kind of go into this victim to try and protect themselves. Okay, they practice really hard and then just cross their fingers that they don't make a mistake.
Speaker 1:And then you and I both know, you know it's athletic, so she's, she's going to make a mistake. So, as a result, she's at the mercy of those mistakes and it's hard to watch her. Right, we are moms, so we are so in tune with our daughter's body language. So let me know if you have seen this and hi, julie, I'm so glad you're here Let me know if you've seen this from the stands. Right, she makes a mistake, and then she hesitates, all right. And then when she hesitates, now she's kind of like messing with her form, it's different. So she's making more mistakes.
Speaker 1:And then if she plays a team sport, maybe it's like okay, well, now it's not just one mistake, it's like five. And now she's on the bench right and you're like, oh my gosh, I wish you snap out of it. And, being her mom, we want to fix it right. We are the ultimate fixers. So we probably have said her things or told her things like this hey, everyone makes mistakes. Or maybe we try and coach her a little bit from the stands, cause we're just like we don't know what else to do. And if this is you, welcome. You are officially a sports parent and join the club. We meet every Saturday on the sidelines and this is what we do. Okay, no, you're going to learn a different way. You're actually now after this training and I'd be like, oh, wow, all these other parents like, did you know that doesn't work anymore? Okay, or it never did. Actually, because and you already have realized this you already know that some of this, this coaching and trying to tell her hey, it's okay, everyone makes mistakes, it's not, it's not working.
Speaker 1:But there's also science going on. There's some neuroscience. I'm not going to go too deep into it, but you do need to know a little bit about what's happening in your daughter's brain when she makes a mistake. The first thing is flow state. Okay, this is where we want your daughter to be like. When she's competing her best. She's not thinking about much. She has five neurotransmitters coursing through her body. Oh, joe, okay, you'll have to. You'll have to let me know. Are we on point here, right? Okay, this is flow state. This is where we want her to be, this is where she's playing her best.
Speaker 1:But we also need to know that the brain's number one job is to protect us, to keep us physically safe and psychologically safe. Physically safe breathing alive, all those things, okay. But also psychologically safe because we are biologically wired for belonging and that need is so intense as well for preteens and teens. So imagine when she makes a mistake, because that triggers fear of not being liked, fear of letting people down, fear of not belonging. Okay, her amygdala, that part of her brain that senses threat, picks up on that threat to her environment, that threat to her psychological safety, and her sympathetic nervous system then kicks in. This is the part of her nervous system that's responsible for the fight or flight or freeze or appease response. So if you see her freezing out there, this is what's happening.
Speaker 1:She is flooded with more adrenaline, like too much to be useful. She's got scattered thoughts and behaviors. Her executive functioning is offline. When she's in this state, more mistakes often follow. She's like, wow, you're watching from the sidelines. You're like, oh my gosh, that was such an easy layup that she missed. How did that happen? Because she is in this dysregulated state and nothing you, her coach or a teammate say in that moment is going to help her bounce back.
Speaker 1:She is like if we take her back to three years old and she's having that tantrum on the ground I do have one of those in my household. Okay, a three-year-old that throws tantrums we don't go up to them and say, hey, calm down and expect that that's going to work right. No, that's not how it is okay, but I do know how it's been. It's hard to watch her spiral and beat herself up. And how many of you have these car ride homes where you're like I don't even wanna get in the car with her, I don't even want to go there. Okay, yeah, and imagine if she could actually move on from a mistake, like it's nothing, all right, you with her and it's not a bunch of drama, and drop a yes if you are dreaming of the possibility of a drama-free car ride home. Yeah, exactly, you're like we can actually go out to dinner and you're not like ruining the vibe of the whole night. Yes, please. I see all of you saying that.
Speaker 1:Well, the good news is, training her brain and body to bounce back from mistakes is absolutely possible, but it has to be learned in practice. This is a skill that she needs to develop for herself. This is our bounce back in a snap process. It's three things, hey. Number one mindset shift right out the gate.
Speaker 1:Elite, confident athletes know that mistakes are not to be avoided. They don't actually try to. You know, hold back and hesitate and avoid them because they actually have a skill to get over them fast. We don't have to avoid them. They know, hey, mistakes are going to happen. Number two they know their triggers.
Speaker 1:All right, we talked to athletes about um, like a traffic light analogy for this. So green is flow state yellow this is where she wants to be. We know we want her to be. Yellow is maybe something happens. A ref makes a bad call, um, she makes a mistake. A teammate does something, she gets pulled out. She's going a little off. Okay, red is, she's dysregulated, she's spiraling. It's really hard to come down from that. Most athletes without skills to recover they go from green to red really fast and it's hard to bring them back down. Okay, and the confident athletes can sense. They have an awareness of what's going on in their brain and body and when they sense they're getting too yellow, they have a skill to bring it back down to green.
Speaker 1:That skill is number three a snapback routine, okay. Or a failure recovery system. We call ours the snapback routine. It's a combination of a breath to engage the parasympathetic nervous system okay, the opposite of the sympathetic. So the rest and digest the reset word, a reset word at the top of that breath that is predetermined, based on how she wants to feel in that moment. It's also pre-visualized, so her brain and body is like I've been here, I know what to do. On the exhale she's doing a reset signal, so something to ground her in the present moment and bring her back to the here and now.
Speaker 1:The snapback routine takes less than two seconds and if she plays a sport like gymnastics or swimming or something like that where, like, we can't do any other signal, grounding signals, just the breath or just the reset word is enough to help her shake off mistakes. So imagine if your daughter could actually have this skill snapping back in just seconds. Drop the word excited If this is something you can't wait to see in your daughter. If you're like oh my gosh, you know you watch her make a mistake, and then her body language, instead of slumping your shoulder, she's like oh, she's doing her snapback routine, she's back in it. Yeah, exactly, I'm excited for you. Okay, and honestly, this is what happens.
Speaker 1:Laura is a mom of one of our gymnasts in the program and she said, well, the other day Coco fell on beam and I was like, ooh, this doesn't sound like a good story and she goes. No, it has a good ending. She did her snapback routine, she got back on beam, finished that and then she went on to the next event and crushed it and what typically would have happened is, yeah, she would finish beam, but then the rest of the day would be shot. And maybe you guys, maybe some of you, have been in this situation where it's like she has one bad game or one bad set and it's a whole day tournament and you're like, well, there goes the rest of the day, right. Well, here's the thing. Confidence doesn't come from never making mistakes, it comes from having a routine to overcome them faster. Okay, same thing with Jazlyn in April April is her mom. She said her Jazlyn's AU coach was always saying she has the ability, it's just her mind holding her back. Well, once Jazlyn learned the snapback routine, she was able to not get so discouraged by her mistakes. Her mom said my favorite part is now that same AU coach is praising her that she has finally turned a corner. All right, pretty cool.
Speaker 1:All right, we are on step two how to release the pressure that your daughter is feeling this is huge, okay, but time for a giveaway. Okay, daughter is feeling this is huge, okay, but time for a giveaway. Okay, um, let's see, here we're going to do another coffee giveaway and, nicole Adams, you are the lucky winner of that. All right, congratulations, nicole Adams. We'll be reaching out to you for, um, a little coffee treat on us, yeah, woohoo. Okay, as a mom or a dad, okay, I know we have some dads in here. And also, if you have a boy athlete, you're, you're totally welcome to be here as well. These strategies apply to boy athletes as well. Yeah, don't forget that. I see you, jim, okay, yeah, you, you know the pressure that your daughter puts on herself. And let me know in the chat do you see this in your daughter? One, two or three Perfectionism, comparison, anxiety, okay, perfectionism, right, I gotta be perfect.
Speaker 1:I, you know, can't let anybody down Comparison. Everybody else is good, but not me. Anxiety Okay, maybe there's like too too much, too much before a game, or she's not even playing like herself, or some of you have all three. Yesterday, somebody said I have the three deal, unhappy meal, something like that. We're like, okay, yeah, that actually is that's how it is. Here's the deal. This is normal. Okay, we actually can't take these experiences away from our athletes. In fact, there are good parts of perfectionism, comparison and anxiety there. There absolutely are. But what we can do is change your relationship, your daughter's relationship, with these things, so that she can take the good of all three of these things without the things that are holding her back.
Speaker 1:Okay, and when your daughter is experiencing this, we're probably saying things like this stop being so hard on yourself, right? Don't think about it, just don't compare, just play. And again, if you have said these things, you are in the right place. We have all said these things. So let's take a collective sigh of relief that, like, we found our people Okay, but we're going to do it differently, because you probably already know that it's not working. In fact, a lot of those things are probably adding to the stress, because your daughter is probably, like you know, meeting you back with eye rolls or is like mom, you don't get it. And you're like I literally played your sport in college. How do I not get it. Okay, but it's probably adding more, more stress.
Speaker 1:So imagine if we could go from frustration, sadness, overwhelmed, to positive, confident and self-assured. And we already know that some of this well-intended advice I know we're all just trying our best here it's not working because these are her own mental skills and experiences. She has to build them right. They're not. Mental skills are not just picked up through advice or suggestions. I wish I could just tell my athletes hey, just be confident. And they were like oh, that was it. No, like that's not actually teaching her the skill of confidence. So, in order to release the extraordinary pressure she feels, we have to do this help her notice and shift her thoughts. This is the foundation of mental training, sports psychology. Okay, what is your daughter focusing on? What is she telling herself?
Speaker 1:All right, average athletes are not aware of their thoughts. They think the latest research says that we think over 50,000 thoughts and they're just like yeah, all of it sounds good. Okay, they believe everything they think and then, as a result, they get stuck in this negative spiral of thinking. Elite, confident athletes are aware that thoughts come and go. 50,000 thoughts means that we can't hold all those things in our brain. Okay, they can accept. They can reject. Um, it's kind of like when you go to those sushi places with the conveyor belt don't judge, but I love those places and you know you're watching the sushi. Come by watching it, watching it go and, um, you don't have to take all of it. Okay, you can let that, that sashimi pass you by and I'm like I don't like that. But, ooh, this like California roll, uh, this spicy tuna roll. I'm going to take that. I'm going to take that. I'm going to let that one pass me by. Okay, elite, confident athletes can do that with their thoughts. They're like, yeah, that's not productive, I'm going to let that all of it. All right, no, we don't need to do that. And some moms are like well, my daughter actually be able to do this? Will she actually be able to have the skill to notice when thoughts are not productive? I'm telling you right now the answer is yes. Okay, Picture hearing comments like this from your daughter that we get all the time from our athletes.
Speaker 1:Lily said hey, I had a mindset shift, meaning I shifted what shift to enjoying myself and what I'm doing in my sport. There's a concept she says now I'm not only having more fun, but I'm actually playing better. Okay. Again, there's a concept when athletes enjoy their sport, they play better. Okay, they play better, they stay in it longer. Genevieve same thing. It was so cute. She was like I had a win in my mental game on Saturday. We were losing, but I changed my attitude. I changed my attitude. I changed my attitude. I decided to think and focus on something different, more productive. When it was near the end, we scored three goals and we won the game. I was like, oh, could it be that simple? Genevieve All right, yeah, sushi train I love it. I got some other people on the sushi train. Give me a yes in the comments If this sounds like a relief, if it would be like, oh my gosh, she could actually change her attitude without me saying hey attitude, without me saying, hey, change your attitude.
Speaker 1:Okay, she would have that skill. Yeah, absolutely. Let's go over how this works. Okay, we're going to. We're going to break it down, all right, this is called the thought wheel and this is how we teach this in inside our program. But this is how it works.
Speaker 1:When athletes are not using our process to shift and and you know, make sure that they're intentional with their thoughts. Athletes are in situations all the time. We're in situations all the time where we can't really control. I'm going to give you a common one. If your daughter plays a team sport, maybe the situation is she's not getting the playing time that she wants to get. Okay, give me a yes in the chat If you've ever had like playing time issues, you know in the past. Or maybe she's not happy, or you're not happy with how much playing time? Yeah, if it hasn't happened yet, it's going to happen. It's just, it's a thing, um, but if your daughter doesn't play a team sport, maybe she's. She's not performing how she wants to perform.
Speaker 1:She can think, oh yeah, I see current situation for Carrie. All right, this will be useful. Um, so she can think 50,000 thoughts about that, right, but she decides to think something like you know well. Well, my, my coach just doesn't like me. That's why I'm not playing, or I suck. If she's not playing to her potential, I suck. I'm the worst one. I'll never get better, okay, I'm just always going to lose, and our brain wants a story, and so it's not like that. It's wrong that that thought popped into her head. What's tough, though, is that she decides to believe it, okay, instead of being like, yeah, that's not really productive, no, I'm going to believe it. All right.
Speaker 1:Now there's also part of our brain called the reticular activating system, ras. It is the part of her brain that is going to confirm, in her environment, her thoughts. It's going to fill in the gaps, it's going to make sure that what she's thinking is true. It's the same part of your brain when you buy a new car and now you're like, oh, um, everybody else bought the same car as me. And you're like, no, that didn't happen. You're focused on it more. Okay, so she's got this thought of, um, yeah, all everyone's in Jeeps I see you, joe. Um, she's got this thought my coach doesn't like me or I'm the worst one. I suck.
Speaker 1:Thoughts lead to feelings. She's probably not going to be feeling very motivated. She's not going to. She's probably going to be a subconscious level. She might not even be aware of what she is doing here. Okay, but her brain's going to work for her.
Speaker 1:Feelings, okay, lead to action. So she's going to practice. Not feeling motivated, a little discouraged, she's probably not gonna be playing her best. Okay, we know the athletes who are discouraged, unmotivated, maybe even think their coach doesn't like them. They're probably not gonna be going out of their way to get coaching from their coach. They're probably not going to be working on their weaknesses, because that's going to make her look even more dumb or behind. Yeah, so she's going to be doing that.
Speaker 1:Okay, actions lead to results. So if that is how she's playing in practice, what results is she going to get? She's probably not going to be getting better. Okay, totally honest. And you, you see it too. And that's going to put her back in that situation on the bench, reaffirming that thought. See, I'm still on the bench, my coach doesn't like me, I'm the worst one. Or see, I'm still not getting better. I, I just suck.
Speaker 1:Okay, and it goes around and around and around. Her brain is going to work to try and fill in the gaps, make sure that story comes true. That she's telling herself. And the problem is that the more that she goes around this circle, now that is no longer a thought, it becomes a belief. Right Now, she is believing about herself that she's not likable by her coach. Okay, now she's believing about herself that she sucks, and beliefs are very powerful because they live in your subconscious mind. Yep, you got it Exactly, is it Janie. And then it's her identity, right, 90% of her behavior is controlled by her subconscious, and that's where that belief goes, and so that is why it's so important that we can catch this thought before it becomes a belief. So imagine if it could look like this.
Speaker 1:Okay, she is in that same situation. Maybe she the automatic negative thought is, okay, yeah, I suck, or my coach doesn't like me. But then she's like you know what? That's not productive. She's going to let that sushi pass her by and she's like I'm going to choose something more productive, something like, yeah, this is hard, but I can do hard things. Yeah, this is challenging. I wish it were different, but there's an opportunity here. Okay, going from victim to, I'm going to actually take control. You know, this is happening for me, not to me. Now she's probably gonna be feeling a little more optimistic, a little more motivated. She's going to go into practice feeling like that and if she is, she's probably going to be working on her weaknesses. Maybe she's asking for coaching. Maybe she's like working outside of her sport, she's watching film. All right, those actions are going to lead to a lot better results. I'll tell you right now my, my athletes that are doing those things are getting better and they're improving and that's putting them in better situations. Ultimately, she can't control her playing time, but she is going to be in a better situation. She's probably going to be enjoying her sport more, she's probably going to be improving and, more importantly, she's not going to have that belief that becomes her identity, that she sucks or that somebody doesn't like her. Okay, her self-talk is powerful. It can significantly shape her beliefs about herself and her abilities.
Speaker 1:The other example I give about this is a smoothie analogy. Okay, so I make a smoothie almost every morning. It's been two years. It's no longer a kick, it's a lifestyle. I make this like chocolate, peanut butter, protein concoction. Anyone else drink a smoothie almost every day. Am I alone in this or people still do this? Okay, and so I was thinking about this the other day when I finished the smoothie. Okay, good, we got some other smoothie drinkers.
Speaker 1:When I finished the smoothie and you got that smoothie remnant on the inside of the glass. Okay, when I take that to the sink when I'm done and I just rinse it out right away, like right after I'm done, it comes out so easy'm super busy in the morning or I've got something like this going on. I got a training, so I got my smoothie, okay, and I finish it, and then that glass sits out, and maybe it sits out for hours. Or if your kid drinks them too, you find one in their room and you're like, uh, how long has this been here?
Speaker 1:Okay, in order to wash that, it's a little bit of a different process. Okay, like hardened on the inside of the glass, that chia seed is now like concrete or cement, whatever. My assistant coach is a he does like cement and concrete on the side, and I always get it confused. Is it cement, the concrete? I don't know. It's hard to get off, okay, and so I have to like soak it overnight. I've got to like chip away. You know, it's a lot harder. And this is the same example that I give for athletes. If they have the ability to shift that thought right away, it's like they're cleaning out their smoothie glass and moving on with their day. If they don't, and they go around and around and around with that thought, it's like that smoothie that gets hard and harder and harder.
Speaker 1:We can change beliefs, we can. We do it all the time inside our program, but it's a little bit harder. Okay, it's a lot easier to recognize right away Not productive. I'm going to change, I'm going to move on, okay, oh, thank you, joe.
Speaker 1:Cement is part. I always, I always mix them up, okay, but this impacts her whole life, not just her sport. Yes, we, we love sports, we are advocates for women and girls in sports, a hundred percent, and we love what sports do in our girl athletes lives. But this it goes to her academics, goes to her relationships, goes, you know, into her ability to stand up for herself and advocate for herself her future career. Okay, this is where it really matters. Hey, and remember she will never outperform her belief about herself. That sets her ceiling. Okay, doing this work now impacts her future. Lisa said she's now stopped Her daughter's like. She's now not worried as much as what other people are thinking of her and she's not worried as much as what other people are thinking of her and she's realizing she doesn't need to be perfect because no one is. Okay, what a gift to give your daughter to not have to have that, you know, carrying around with her for her life.
Speaker 1:All right, we are in the third part and the last part of the method, and then we're going to talk about the elite mental game and our pricing discount and do our giveaway. But let's do another giveaway. Okay, another giveaway in the chat? Um, let's do another. Let's do another coffee, like I feel like you can't have enough, right? Um, let's see, lori Dickerson, you have been on fire in the chat. You have our next, our next coffee card, congratulations. Or tea? Yes, of course you can use it for tea. Yes, those of you that are a little healthier than I am, okay, all right, let's go on to the third part of this.
Speaker 1:I frequently ask moms what they struggle with most when it comes to building their athlete's confidence, and negative mindset is always a top response. Let me know in the chat if this sounds familiar. I try to tell her to be positive, but she just turns a negative. She can do 99 things right, but it's the one thing she does wrong that she can't stop focusing on. 99 things right, but it's the one thing she does wrong that she can't stop focusing on. Yeah. I heard somebody say the other day like I can't even compliment her correctly I'm like gosh.
Speaker 1:Well, here's the thing. Average athletes actually believe they have to be hard on themselves in order to play well, otherwise they're letting their guard down. They don't want other people to believe that they're too good, so they focus on their flaws. I see this about that with the sushi, okay. Also, remember that the brain's number one job is to protect us, and research actually shows that we have something called a negativity bias, that when we're making sense of our experiences, we tend to focus on the negative. So your daughter's brain is actually just protecting herself when she's being negative. But we have a hard time as moms watching that. We're like we need you to be positive. So we're like we need you to be positive. So we tell her things like focus on the positives, you're just as good as everyone else. Come on, you do belong on this team. They do like you and don't get me wrong, all of these are true.
Speaker 1:But here's the thing about confidence. We lean on Dr Becky Kennedy's definition of confidence, which is confidence is self-trust, trusting herself through any emotion, any situation. That is what confidence is. And so when your daughter comes to you, when she's in these situations and she's having a hard time and she's like I feel like I'm the worst one on the team, I feel like I let everybody down. I don't know, it's just this happened, and then we're like no, no, no, let's be, let's be positive here, let's change it. Don't talk like that. Here's, she's going to learn pretty quickly that she can't be herself and she can't trust herself in your presence because you're constantly trying to get her to change how she's feeling.
Speaker 1:Number two we're actually lowering her confidence in that moment, right, because, remember, confidence is self-trust. So what we can do, we can actually just meet her with an ounce, just a little bit, of empathy and validation in that moment, as hard as it is, okay, just saying things like ooh, I'm so glad you're telling me this, right, I believe you. Now, if she's saying something totally ridiculous, okay, you and I both know that's not true, but it would be tough to feel that way. Validate the experience. That doesn't mean we're agreeing with her that she's the worst one on the team or that she sucks. We are agreeing with her that this is a tough feeling that she is feeling in that moment and she is a hundred percent valid in how she is feeling. Okay, that is going to help her process that emotion faster and build her confidence long-term because, hey, I know how I feel in this moment, all right. So I know that might be a big mindset shift for a lot of you around what confidence is. But here's the thing Telling isn't teaching. Telling her to be confident, telling her to be positive, is not teaching her how to do that. She has to have the skills. We can't actually manipulate her brain. Okay, we can give her the opportunities to, all right.
Speaker 1:But there are a few things that you can do in your mom role that will make a difference. And number one stay in your role. Okay, this image right here if you're with us for any amount of time, you eventually are going to have this tattooed on your body. Okay, just let just email us and let us know. Where did you put it?
Speaker 1:Okay, but there are four main roles in your daughter's sport athlete, coach, ref and parent. Yours is chosen for you. You are the parent, you're not the athlete anymore. This is her experience. Yeah, I know I want my daughter to play volleyball. I hope she gets a scholarship, but I got. Okay, this is her journey. She. You're not the coach, right? You, if you literally are the coach of your daughter's team? I see you, heidi, we have a lot of people in that boat. You need to first nail the parent role. You got to first be the parent, because she sees parent and then she hears coach and she's getting that mixed up. We're going to talk more about that in the Q and a, but first nail the parent. You're not the ref, I don't need to talk about that, okay.
Speaker 1:The parent you shape the environment and you provide the opportunities. You provide the opportunities for physical training and mental training. You shape the environment through your verbal communication. Okay, and the 25 key phrases is going to help you start with that. We'll circle back at the end to make sure you get that. And your nonverbal communication. Your nonverbal communication is step two. Realize that your daughter's self-talk and confidence is actually tied to yours.
Speaker 1:And if you're like most moms that we work with, maybe you don't feel a hundred percent confident yourself, or maybe you're seeing some things pop up in your daughter that you experienced as an athlete or an adolescent, let me know, give me a yes in the chat If that's, if that's the case for you, because it is for me. I'm like oh my gosh, this is popping up in my daughter. I didn't want her to deal with that, okay. And if you're like wait, I thought this was for my daughter's negative thinking, why are we talking about me. Our approach to mental training is different. You've already probably picked up on that, okay.
Speaker 1:First, we believe that athletes should enjoy their sport. All right, because they play better and they play longer. Second, we cannot leave you out of the equation. Okay, we know that your confidence and hers go hand in hand. You are the closest and most influential example of confidence in her life right now. Even if you think she's not listening to a word, you say all right, she is picking that up like a sponge and unfortunately, like I said, we can't be in your daughter's head manipulating her thoughts for her.
Speaker 1:But here's something that you can do and we can do. We can notice and shift our own thoughts and self-talk, knowing how they directly affect, just like the thought wheel, your thoughts impact your feelings, your actions, your results, the energy and the environment that your daughter is interacting with every single day. You can't just say, hey, your thoughts are negative and it's giving you negative results, and but you're saying to yourself, well, my thoughts are negative, but it's okay, it's not impacting anybody but me. That's not true. Okay, I used to be fit. There's never enough time. I'm so lazy, I'll never figure this out, okay, uh, all of these thoughts that these are not serving you and they're honestly not serving your daughter.
Speaker 1:Now, lori, I see you. If you are going to a place of guilt right here, I need you to come back to me. If you're like yeah, add that to the list of mom guilt things that I am responsible for. No, no, no. Okay. We're going to choose instead to go to a place of empowerment, knowing that you can't control everything your daughter, your daughter thinks, but you can give her skills to help her with that. But you can control what you think and what you say, and that, to me, is empowerment. I'm like, hey, I've got that all right, because your self-talk actually really significantly impacts your daughter. Your self-talk becomes her inner voice.
Speaker 1:So when she hears things like and this goes both ways, positive and negative I hate the way my legs look, I don't know if you're like me. I come from a generation of. My grandma was like a master dieter. So was my mom Like, constantly just picking themselves apart. Like I hate the way my thighs look, my legs look, okay, even though she's telling me like you're beautiful, you're wonderful, all of these things, yeah, we're their mirrors, okay, she builds an inner voice that strong legs are bad, like, well, my legs legs kind of look like my mom's Hmm, okay, that's what she's picking up on when she hears I'll never figure this out. I'm so overwhelmed. This is so frustrating, so overwhelmed. Okay, she's building an inner voice that I can't do her things. Again, she is modeling based on what she's seeing from us and when she gets in those moments, you know, when we want her to be mentally tough, we want her to meet challenges, meet stressful situations with, like I can do this. Well, what are we modeling for her in that?
Speaker 1:Renee Brown, we lean a lot on her research. We can only love others as much as we love ourselves. Hey, we never want to limit the amount of love, the amount of compassion, the amount of self-confidence that our daughters have, because we're limiting that in ourselves. Yeah, I love Renee Brown. She follows me on Instagram. I was seriously starstruck. I was like all right, yes, because we do use a lot of her research. But, yeah, it was so cool when I saw that.
Speaker 1:All right, but let me know in the chat what is one limiting thought that you will shift. You will stop saying out loud immediately. You're like it stops with me. This is not productive for me. It's not productive for my daughter. It's not that this does not mean that your daughter is not going to see you tired, frustrated, overwhelmed, having body image issues. No, but it's what are you? How are you talking about those things? Okay, yeah, I love that. Rebecca, I can't keep up so much mess. Okay, I'm so tired. It's so frustrating. I had a mom the other day put in the chat like I'm going to be in the pictures more. I'm going to stop critiquing myself and saying no, no, no, don't take a picture of me. Oh, your daughter to be doing that. Okay, yeah, kimberly, you know what. I'm going to be on for a while, so let's keep chatting. Yeah, and here's the deal.
Speaker 1:Most of us were not taught this, so it's not your fault, but imagine if your mom or your parent would have been the cycle breaker for you. Imagine how you would show up differently right now in your friendships, your career, in your body. Right, and that's our opportunity right now with your daughter. Okay, because picture your daughter 20 years from now, in the future, 30 years from now in the future, not struggling with all these internal doubts and insecurities, because she has the skill now to work through it. Okay, some of us, you know, we're in our 30s, our 40s, our 50s. Maybe we have some grandparents here that are older than that too. We weren't tough.
Speaker 1:Imagine if your daughter could actually not have that. Yeah, drop a gift, drop the word gift in the chat. If that is the greatest gift that you could give your daughter. Okay, if we could raise daughters. I mean so. You saw, um, ilona Mayher maybe you've seen it or not. She was like I don't struggle with imposter syndrome. That's not a thing for me. Like, can we imagine a generation of girls who do not struggle with imposter syndrome? I mean, how amazing, like that is the opportunity that we have right now. I know I love her too. I'm obsessed.
Speaker 1:Okay, the good news is that building self-confidence and self-talk. It takes strategies and effort, but it does not take a lot of time. That, okay, this is not productive, I'm going to shift. It doesn't take a lot of time, and this is how you raise a daughter who believes in herself as much as you believe in her. And the best part is, like I said, this confidence absolutely shows through in her sport. We love it when we get messages from athletes that are like hey, I got a PR, I won this, I won that. I'm playing so much better, more free, more confident. But when we hear from moms, they're like, wow, she actually stood up for herself to that, that team, that bully on her team Okay, she actually is able to, you know, trust her gut in situations. When she gets to those tricky situations and we're not with her and we can't guide her through, we want her to rely on those skills of confidence to be like, hey, yep, nope, this isn't right, even though her friend is saying, no, it's fine, it's fine, okay, that is where it makes a big difference as well.
Speaker 1:Now my question for you is when was the last time you actually saw your daughter finish a competition with her head held high, feeling confident in her performance? Let me know, was it last week, last month, or you can't remember? Yeah, last week, or maybe you're like I saw it yesterday, but it had, it was missing for a while, or it's kind of up and it's down, it's all over, yeah, okay. So we're kind of all over the board here, which is great, but I want to be honest with where you might be right now in your daughter's sports journey, because most parents that I work with are experiencing one of the three scenarios.
Speaker 1:Number one confidence crisis. She's really talented but she doubts herself. One mistake ruins the entire game and maybe you're walking on eggshells. Number two the investment disconnect. You're investing, you know, in her sport. She plays, she plays on the team, she's got the equipment, but she's not having fun or playing to her potential. Number three not knowing what to say dilemma. Your pep talks are not landing. She's shutting down more and more. It's causing stress in your relationship. But let me know in the chat what fits you best. Is it one, two or three? Or do we have the full meal? Unhappy deal? Still, okay, oh yeah. Two all day? Yeah, okay. So we've got kind of all over and no matter where you are one, two or three. That's why I'm excited to talk about the elite mental game.
Speaker 1:I shared at the beginning that we were going to be talking about our signature mental training program for girl athletes. This is the program that thousands of athletes have used to increase their mental strength and confidence, but also it's a program that I wish I would have had as a middle school athlete, high school athlete, and also the program that I wish my mom would have had to know how to help me. We've talked a lot my mom and I, like you know about the journey and she was like I just didn't know what to say, like I didn't know how to help you. You were so talented I didn't know how to like give you those skills. Well, this is where your daughter can actually learn these things. So let really wanna make sure that you have all the details and all your questions answered if you want this to be your next step, for your daughter and for you. So she built her mental game and her confidence through a really quick win with her snack back routine. We covered that a little bit, plus the rest of our core performance system inside our program and the parent success system, because, again, our approach to mental training is different, because we include you in this process and this is lifetime access for your entire family. So one license is good for all the athletes in your family for one price, as well as your partner and spouse.
Speaker 1:Let's talk first about this quick win that she gets with the snapback routine. We implement the bounce back in a snap process. You learned this today, all right. So athletes learn their snapback routine as their very first skill that they learn when they're inside the elite mental game. Athletes love it. Leah, the other day she texted us and she goes hey, I'm learning. Now. Mistakes are okay. Remember, mindset shift number one All right, I don't get as mad at myself.
Speaker 1:Ian said Ava worked on her snapback routine. Yesterday she did it in her tournament. I saw her body language change and, mom, it worked Okay. Brynn said I watched a bunch of lessons before my practice. Oh, my goodness, I can't even explain how much the snapback helped me at practice. So, literally, athletes are learning this, you know, in the morning or whenever before their practice, implementing it and using it. Okay, which is really great. All right.
Speaker 1:The rest of the core performance system this is where the magic happens. This is what we follow in the elite mental game so that athletes get these results. Okay, they can set big dreams, clear goals, they can shift their limiting beliefs, they can learn positive and productive self-talk, be a teammate, be a leader and, again, this goes well beyond the sport. So included in the core performance system is the snapback routine. Hey, we've already talked about that. The confidence and performance accelerators. These are skills just like the Olympians and pro athletes use, mental training, skills rooted in sports psychology but that are accessible for middle school and high school athletes so they're delivered in a way that makes sense for that age demographic. High performance game plans these are step-by-step routines for success.
Speaker 1:So pre-performance routines, post-competition routines, alter ego techniques if your daughter hesitates out there, all right. Performance routines. Post-competition routines, alter ego techniques If your daughter hesitates out there, all right. Mental edge toolkit. So overcoming perfectionism, comparison disappointments and more, all the things that your daughter faces as a sport. And lifetime access for your whole family. Tyson, I see you. Yes, for a dad as well. So we actually want dads.
Speaker 1:Um, whether you have a partner or not, like to the parent side of the program is key for you. Okay, we'll talk about that piece in a second. Okay, and this is how you give your daughter a competitive advantage for life. Okay, and then the last piece of it, the parent success system. So included in that for you is our what to say playbook. So scripts, so you know what to say and when. No more like putting your shoe in your mouth and being like oh my gosh, I don't know what to say. Okay, the I don't know what to say, okay. The pre and post competition game plan. So, especially in that car ride home or car ride to the game. Elite sports parent toolkit so all the skills that you need to navigate how to help her recover from mistakes, increase motivation and effort, navigate setbacks all the things Okay and lifetime access for your partner and your spouse.
Speaker 1:I really do think it's important that you guys are on the same page when it comes to your sports journey. Now, not that can't always be possible, okay, depending on your family situation, but if possible, we want them to be on the same page and, honestly, this is how you can be the parent in the stands who actually knows how to support their daughter. I always laugh because I went to my daughter's indoor sports or indoor soccer game on Monday and there's like literally plexiglass between, like, the parents and the players. They can't hear you and all these parents are just like yelling all this stuff. Parents were just like yelling all this stuff and I'm like you realize you're just yelling at all of us, okay, so you will actually be the one to know what to do.
Speaker 1:So at this point, the question we get most from parents is amazing how does all of this work? And if you do have questions I see some coming in the chat, which is great. Go ahead and pop your question in the Q and a. I'll make sure that either my team gets to it or I get to it by the end. Okay, so great questions coming in, but how does this all work? It's very simple. You enroll your athlete anytime, whenever she's ready. You can actually jump in when we talk about pricing, discounts and all the things and roll her whenever she's ready. When she does, she can log in from any device, anytime, anywhere, so a lot of athletes just do it like on their phones or on an iPad, on the laptop, on the way to a tournament, wherever she follows our 30 minute a week training plan with short, self-paced lessons.
Speaker 1:These lessons are bite-sized. They're from me. They're three to 15 minutes long. I know that I'm competing with TikTok for the time being, so the attention span is very fast. I was a teacher, I have a master's in education, I am a current head volleyball coach. These lessons are engaging I don't do boring, I don't do lectures and they're applicable.
Speaker 1:Athletes learn skills that they put into practice right away, so it's something that they're using, and they also get personalized coaching inside their training portal. So every lesson they complete, I am coaching them and I'm giving them feedback. And, like I said on number two, 30 minutes a week is our training plan that we suggest. But athletes can go faster, they can go slower. Honestly, a little bit goes a long way. When it comes to the mental game, yeah, exactly, shannon, it's engaging, it's short, it's easy to consume and she also gets prizes as she goes through. So, to that point, right, it's a game, she earns points. We know our athletes are, for the most part, competitive, right, so they earn points as they go through. They earn prizes as they go through, because who doesn't love just all sorts of fun things like that?
Speaker 1:Okay, catherine said my favorite part was listening to Coach Bree talk her tips, her knowledge and I did not pay Catherine to say this, but I speak their language, like they get it. Okay, nicole said this too. She's like I'm so grateful for dialogue that's opening up between my daughter and I. All right, let me share three quick stories about what's possible inside EMG. Then I'm going to share our pricing discount that we have. That is good, just while we're in, our winter enrollment special, which is only good through tomorrow, and a fast action bonus that you get when we're on here live.
Speaker 1:So how many of you have a daughter who's like Ava. She's 13 years old. She plays soccer. Her mom said she was slacking in practice and also in the field, like she didn't really want to put in the work. Anyone have give me a yes, if you have an Ava in your house, yeah, okay. So she joined EMG on day one. She listened to the welcome right away. In the program we have really simple buy-in activities for athletes so we actually take care of the buy-in for you. You don't have to fumble around to try and explain it Like she just goes boom, we've got her. Okay, she listened to the athlete welcome.
Speaker 1:Within the first week she was doing her snapback routine and her release your inner elite competitor. That weekend she applied it to her soccer game and her mom said at least four different parents asked her what she was doing differently from the previous week. Okay, anyone got a Genesis. Genesis is 14. She plays volleyball. Her mom said she was losing her joy for the sport and her mom actually said about halfway through the season Genesis said I just want to quit. Okay, and that's so tough because you're like, do I let her quit? Like, is this just a phase? I don't know? Okay, so they joined EMG.
Speaker 1:Genesis listened to the three-time state champ coach four-time now. Okay, that's again. In the beginning we get athletes engaged quickly. Within three weeks she was using her pre-competition game plan. Her mom said she saw her closing her eyes and visualizing in the back of the car on the way to the tournament. Towards the end of the season she earned a starting libero role and her joy for the sport was back. She heard Genesis saying things like I can't please all my teammates. I'm doing the best I can. Some days I'm gonna have off days. And her mom was like I just wanted to scream for joy because that was not her even three months ago.
Speaker 1:All right, last one, anyone have an Avery. Avery is 15. She's the leader of her basketball team okay, she is like one of the. She's put a lot of pressure on herself. Okay, one weekend she went to a level of call and Andrea, I just saw your comment. Okay, one weekend, um, she went to a level of a call and I'll talk about the live calls in a second and she realized she's not alone. There are other athletes who are high performers and they're struggling with the pressure that they put on themselves.
Speaker 1:Within a month, she was using her mental edge toolkit to manage nerves, pressure, stress. Midway through the season her mom was saying she was trusting her training more, she was taking more risks and her body language was improving. Her mom said it just has lowered the temperature in our household. You know, when we have athletes who are go-to players and she's like stress, stress, pressure, pressure, everything's just so uptight. She's like it just kind of lowered the temperature for her and for us. Okay, here's exactly what you get inside the elite mental game where your daughter gets results like this too. Here's the core performance system that I went over. So the snapback routine, confidence and performance accelerators, high performance game plan, mental edge toolkit, your parent success system because you matter too. This is your journey. The what to say playbook, pre and post competition game plans, elite sports parent toolkit this is lifetime access for your whole family.
Speaker 1:So I've seen like what if we have multiple athletes, everyone gets their own login for one price and this is all valued at over $7,000 if our program were to be done with one of our one-on-one coaches In our normal retail investment, what we sell EMG for outside of our winter enrollment special is $19.97. But as a sincere thank you for being here today. I know your time is valuable. We do have a special pricing opportunity for you right now, during our winter enrollment special. But first let's break down that 1997 investment. Even just if your daughter were to play her sport for another year, that 1997 comes out to $6 a day. Okay, that's less than a sports drink and a protein bar, or definitely less than one of those acai bowls that your daughter keeps like telling you to get at the tournaments, or those hoodies, yeah, okay. And long-term, we can't promise this.
Speaker 1:But college recruiters I just had my college volleyball coach on the podcast talking about how mental strength is something that they look for when they're recruiting, right, and one college scholarship could be well worth over a hundred thousand dollars. And, more importantly, the cost of waiting to build these skills. Because how many competitions is she going to play in next month? How many practices, how many tryouts, how many showcases? Can we afford to let her face these things without the mental tools that she needs? And Sarah, yeah, these are life skills, right, because every practice, every game, every moment, everything shapes who she becomes. And this investment is not just about sports. Like Sarah mentioned, this is the confidence that gives her the foundation for life.
Speaker 1:So I know I'm asking you to make a big decision of whether to join or not. I also know you're serious about helping your daughter or you would not be here, okay. So I want you to be able to say yes for your daughter and for your family. And so for our winter enrollment special, we have the elite mental game discounted to nine 97,. Right, that's our special pricing discount. So elite competitorcom forward slash, join EMG. Abby, just put that in the chat. That is the clickable link that you have to use in order to get this discount. Now I do have one more cool thing to share. Okay, and I see your questions in the chat.
Speaker 1:Let me know if you're hoping that there's some sort of like live aspect to EMG. If you're like yeah, the self-paced is great. I love that it's only 30 minutes a week or less. I love that she can listen to our own time, but is she going to connect with anybody? Is she going to connect with you Like coaches, all of that? Yeah, absolutely. I hear you and the answer is yes.
Speaker 1:As part of our winter enrollment special, we are also including three free months of live support and coaching for your athlete, and here is what that includes. Okay, number one coach on call texting. When you activate your live support, your daughter is paired with one of our elite competitor coaches and we are all former college athletes and certified mental performance coaches and I think Sailor's actually Coach Sailor's gonna pop on in a little bit okay. Coaches, and I think Sailor's actually Coach Sailor's going to pop on in a little bit Okay. So we check in with her via text every week. We give her a little mental training nugget and then we ask her a question like hey, how's EMG going? You got any practices coming up, any tournaments coming up? How can we support you? She can also text back on that number anytime. We are on the other end. So athletes love it because it's just less like confrontational, like've got a tournament coming up, you know, can you give me any advice? So she is never alone, we're just a text away.
Speaker 1:Number two live calls. So I talked about this with Avery right. So we have live calls two times a month or um. The first call of the month is split by age middle school and high school. Sorry, middle school and younger are together, and then high school and college are together. We give them a mental training tip and then we answer Q and a and your daughter can participate as much as little as she wants. She can just listen in to what other athletes are asking. She can participate in the chat, she can submit a question ahead of time, but it's so good for other athletes to see like, oh, wow, I have that question too. I have that question too, so we just um answer those questions. The second call of the month we bring in a guest expert. We find this so valuable. We bring in either a college athlete, an Olympic athlete, professional athlete or a guest expert in the areas of nutrition, rest and recovery, body confidence, like those areas that we know are so important to our athletes. So we bring in a guest expert to help educate them and also inspire them. All right, my um, one of the athletes said my favorite part of the program were the zoom calls. Okay, athletes love to see that they're not alone in this.
Speaker 1:Okay, the last part of life support is for you parents. You get access to our private sports moms in our circle community and our private podcast and actually we decided for our winter enrollment special you get lifetime access to this. So once you're in, you're in your, you got us for life and our community is amazing. This private community is where you can connect with other moms but also ask your questions. We have moms in there who are just beginning their sport and we have moms in there who have been in our private community for three or four years and now their daughters are in college, who are mentoring and pouring back into those moms who are like, yeah, I've been there, I know what you're going through, here's what we did. It's so valuable to have a community who gets it, but maybe isn't like as close as you know some another mom that's like on your team. Okay, so so great. Um, we also have, um, you get access to our private podcast as well. So, um, I don't know if you're like me, but I have a podcast playing in the background like all the time. So we update our podcast weekly with weekly tips and it just helps to kind of keep your her you know these tips top of mind, all right. So coach Taylor's on. Hi, coach Taylor. So coach Taylor is one of the athlete coaches inside our program. There she is, hello, but yeah, welcome.
Speaker 1:Okay, let's go over everything that we have talked about already for the complete package. Okay, and Kimberly, if you have two daughters or you have three daughters, four daughters, whatever you have a son, this license is good for everybody. They get their own login. Okay. You get the core performance system, the parent success system, lifetime access for your whole family. You get those three free months of live support. One thing I didn't mention or maybe I did, but I'll mention it again is you can activate that three free months anytime within the first year, okay. So some of the people are like I'm going to enroll and I'm going to activate it so that she gets live coaching and texting right away, and some people are like I would want to delay it a little bit, maybe as she gets closer to her season, and that's totally fine too.
Speaker 1:Your investment today is $19.97. And I want to check in really quick On a scale of one to 10, one being like okay, emg is not for us and 10 is, yeah, this sounds actually exactly what we need, because I'm tired of Googling, I'm tired of waiting it out Like you know all that. Where are you at on a scale of one to 10? Okay, I've seen 10s, seen 9s, 10s. Okay, we see 8s. Okay, now it's coming in really fast, all right, okay, cool, oh, I like that somebody put in oh yeah and putting in your hesitation for sure. I love to see that. Yeah, okay. Well, the regular price for EMG, like I said, is $19.97. Right now our winter discount is $9.97. But let me know what works best for your family.
Speaker 1:Number one invest in full $9.97 sounds good. Or, number two, if you would like to see a more flexible option, you're like, let's be honest, I am paying for gymnastics and paying for club. Do we have another? Yeah, more flexible option? For sure, cause I know some of you are ready to get started, but you might need a more flexible investment option. So that's why we actually have. You can either choose to pay in full nine 97, or we do have a three payment option for three payments of three, 59. Both options give you complete access to the program lifetime access, multi-athlete access, parent resources, the whole, the whole deal.
Speaker 1:All right, and let me remove any worry about this, we do have a 14-day money-back guarantee. We call it our triple impact guarantee and it's this Within 14 days, if your athlete doesn't say something like mom, dad, this actually helps you get a full refund. Number two the parent guarantee. If you don't think this, or your coach doesn't say something like what's different with your daughter? She seems more confident. You get a full refund Number three within 14 days. Results If she doesn't bounce back faster from mistakes, have a better pregame mindset. You get a full refund. No fine print, no complicated process. Just email us back saying it didn't work. You get every penny back. Okay, and why can we offer such strong guarantees like this? It's because we see results like this every single day. We know it works. We've had over 1 athletes join the program last year.
Speaker 1:Okay, survey results show like we. We survey athletes pre-EMG and post-EMG. Athletes report a 60% increase in their confidence pre -EMG to post-EMG. Parents, though, perceive an 80% increase in their athlete's confidence pre -EMG to post-EMG, and they report in themselves a 75% increase in their confidence around what to say to their athlete, which is pretty awesome. We get messages like this all the day from them. They're like my happy daughter is back, she's now playing free again. She's not hesitating. We have athletes that are like oh my gosh, like the snapback was helping me so much. I'm now dealing with teammate drama better All of these things.
Speaker 1:Because we know that this works and for everyone who's ready to get started, let me walk you through the enrollment process and also I'm seeing some amazing questions. So if you do have any questions, make sure you put them in the Q&A, because I will be answering those in a second. Yes, yeah, absolutely Okay. So let me walk you through this. When you go to that clickable link and, like I said, you have to use that link because that has our winter enrollment special on it All right, you're going to come to an enrollment page that looks like this you can choose your investment option three pay, one pay.
Speaker 1:Either one works, you're going to enroll yourself, okay, so put your details in there, and then you can choose to activate, level up live support. Now, you don't have to activate it right now. You can choose to wait, but I am curious, give me a one in the chat If you're like we're going to activate it now because I want her to attend the live calls, I want her to have coach on call texting, or two. You think like I think we would wait a little bit longer, maybe once she gets more closer to her season, something like that. Okay, so we kind of have a mixed bag of one and twos.
Speaker 1:Yeah, either one works, and once you do, though, or once you, once you enroll, you will get a welcome page. It looks to enroll. You will get a welcome page that looks like this you also will come to a page right here to enroll your athletes. You do not have to enroll your athlete right away, okay, so you can jump in with the pricing discount that we have I'm also going to be talking about a fast action bonus that we have right now for being here on live Um and then you can wait to enroll your athletes because when you do, she's going to get a welcome email. She's going to get a welcome text from us with her login information. So if you're like I just don't want to hold off on that for a second, totally fine, okay, but when you do enroll her, she's going to come to a login page to looks like that, looks like this Okay, your portal will look like this you have access to parent EMG and athlete EMG.
Speaker 1:She'll just have access to athlete EMG. All right, there are five phases to the game, all right, so she'll be going through this kind of what it looks like. We also have tryout prep in there. We have pre preseason power-ups, post-season power downs, off-season training plans. So really, the program. Why we have it lifetime access is because it grows with her wherever she's at in her training. She has resources to help and we actually recommend the athletes go through phase two at the start of every new sports season. So that's there for her, because phase two is where she develops her daily mindset routine. We call it the three, two, one brave, and she'll want to have a new one for every new sports season. So that's why we have lifetime access to that.
Speaker 1:All right, this is what one of the training sessions looks like. Our platform is very easy to use. It's accessible from any device. This one one, I think, is about six minutes long. As soon as she completes it, she actually comments in the portal and then I coach her and comment back.
Speaker 1:Okay, I have one more thing to share our fast action bonus. But first I'd like to know who's ready to help their athlete daughter build this unstoppable confidence. Put the word ready below. If you're like, I'm ready to stop Googling, I am ready to stop just wondering if maybe this coach will be better or maybe we're not going to have drama on this team. Yeah, absolutely, I'm like ah, just just over it. Like, tell me the path, give me the proven, the proven way. Absolutely All right.
Speaker 1:So for fast action takers those of you that are joining EMG, while we are on here, live, we are throwing in an extra bonus for free. This is our Ditch the Drama training bundle. Typically this costs $300. It's valued at that. We're throwing this in completely free. For those of you that join while we're on here, live, this is a little training bundle that helps your daughter know how to navigate teammate drama and challenging coaches, including our five-foot framework on how to talk to your coach. Okay, because that is a life skill Advocacy is so important and it also tells you like, how do you navigate this? Do you step in? Do you let her deal with this on your own? We give you guidelines on that as well, but when your daughter has this skill to advocate for herself, she's going to have a result like this. So Carrie the other day was like my daughter used that five-step framework. She was prepared for that meeting that she had with her coach and she actually was one of the only athletes that came out of that meeting not crying, which was sad for everybody else. I'm so glad that she had those skills.
Speaker 1:All right, here's everything that I've covered so far, and then I'm going to get to your questions, and we're going to do a free giveaway for one one spot inside EMG. So we've got the core performance system, the parent success system, lifetime access to your for your whole family. We have that three free months of live support that you can activate anytime, plus that fast action bonus, the ditch the drama training bundle when you join while we're on here live. So we'll be on live until I'm done answering questions. So I don't know, it might be another 15 minutes, might be, I don't know, we'll see. And you can choose to invest with nine, 97 or three monthly payments of three 59.
Speaker 1:I know what you might be thinking If you're like this sounds exactly what my daughter needs, but what if it doesn't work for us? And from mom to mom, I get it Like watching your daughter go from being confident, like loving her sport, to like questioning herself. Maybe feeling defeated is truly like. It can be heartbreaking, so like if you are in that place right now, know that I see you and you are not alone. And here's the thing, though. Okay, confidence and mental strength are not just built overnight with some magical phrase, or you have already figured that out by now.
Speaker 1:What does work is a consistent, simple plan. Ours is 30 minutes a week. Okay, 30 minutes a week. She can go faster. She can go slower. Very, very short, easy to consume, little, bite-sized things that creates massive shift over time. A little bit goes a long way when it comes to mental training and just shifting her focus and her self-talk. And the moms in this program we've already talked about this they're cycle breakers. They're helping their daughters build confidence to take up space, to speak up, to go after what they want. It's truly a game changer. So I want you to ask yourself are you willing to give this a try for a couple of weeks, knowing you have a 14-day money-back guarantee? You can jump 14 day money back guarantee. Okay, am I ready to take action so I can stop worrying about how this will impact her future? And can I trust that, even if maybe she's not like a hundred percent open to it yet, she will be Okay? And if you're able to say yes and even you just doing your part of this makes a massive impact on her confidence If you're able to say yes to any of those things, then you're the exactly the kind of mom who gets it and will get results in this program, and so we're your daughter.
Speaker 1:Hey, we've worked with athletes at all levels. Athletes that are just beginning. I see a question about age. We typically have 11 to 18 year olds. But athletes that are competing in higher pressure sports, like gymnastics, um, or just like, have a little bit more, like excuse me, pressure on them at a younger age. So eight, nine, we've had as young as eight. We worked at that age all the way through college, okay, the a great starting place is around 12 to 13 years old. Okay, but 11 to 18 is kind of you know where what our typical age range is is.
Speaker 1:But we also have worked with all athlete levels and all sports, okay. So, individual sports, team sports, multi-sport athletes I hesitate to say we've had every single sport, but we've had a lot. We've also had like theater mock trial, because those are like performance based activities as well. So, yes, it does apply If your daughter is a swimmer, if she is a skier, if she's a tennis athlete, if she's a competitive dancer, a gymnast, basketball player, volleyball player, like, we have had them all Okay. And remember that 14 day money back guarantee. All right, so you have, you can jump in risk-free to get all the pricing, discounts and bonuses, okay. Or maybe you're thinking something like this how do I share this opportunity with my daughter? I think I saw a couple of questions about that. Okay, and the thing is, I get this. I know how much you care about your daughter and you don't want to like bring it up in a way that would make of trigger that for her, but I get it Okay.
Speaker 1:The good news is that most athletes actually do not resist at all once they see what this program is about, and the even better news is that we have built in tools directly into the program. We're very intentional with this program to help exactly with this getting your daughter on board in a way that feels natural and exciting for her. And, honestly, it's better coming from us than anyone, right? Because sometimes when you say it, she's like mom, but when we say it, it's the best thing ever. Okay, and one of the things that we have at the very beginning is a what's your competitor style quiz. So we have her. Take this really interactive, short, awesome quiz where she's learning a little bit about herself, and then we're also breadcrumbing mental training as we go and then introducing her to EMG, so it's a very natural progression into it. And then she hears from alumni as well. She can also choose to book a call with one of our coaches if you think that she would benefit from just connecting with someone before she starts the program. So we have a lot of these built-in ways that make it very natural.
Speaker 1:But here's the deal. I've worked with thousands of athletes and families and there's really two paths to take when it comes to bringing it up to your athlete. Number one join now while we're on here. Live, grab the bonuses, save the money, help. Let us get your daughter on board because, honestly, it's better coming from us. Have her take the quiz, all that and we're going there, okay. Number two most parents do choose number one just because it's just a lot easier. Okay, but number two, maybe you do want her to be open to the idea first.
Speaker 1:So if you think she needs a little more time to warm up, you can start by sharing that quiz with her, so we actually have the ability for her to take that. What's your competitor style quiz? All right, abby's gonna drop that in the link I think she just did. So you can copy and paste that link and you can shoot it on over to her and you're like, hey, you got this cool thing, that's a cool quiz, like it'll be awesome, okay, and that just also will breadcrumb what mental training is. It'll introduce it to her in a really cool way. We also have something called a conversation guide that we'll drop as well. So the conversation guide is great because it gives you talking points. There's some podcast episodes in there that she can listen to from me or from other athletes who have gone through the program. So that is there for you If you want to kind of talk to her about this before joining.
Speaker 1:But also know a lot of families jump in. They get the pricing discount. They're like we're, we're good, you can enroll her at any time. You don't even have, she doesn't have to know yet that you are in the program, um, and you also can get going with your side of it, knowing just from what you learned today that your role and what you do and how you're approaching your athlete makes a big difference in her confidence. Hey, so when you secure your spot today, you're receiving lifetime access to the elite mental game training system.
Speaker 1:Three, three, three free months of bonus, live support, a fast action training bundle Okay, so the ditch, the drama training middle, our triple impact guarantee. So 14 day money back guarantee, and then that 50% with our special enrollment pricing, okay, so we'll drop that link again. Abby just did um for that clickable link to join the program. So I'm going to get to your questions that the team hasn't already answered. So, but right now you're at kind of a decision point. Okay, and again, my experience with hundreds of athletes, um, tells me those really three, three paths forward, okay. So number one is you join EMG today. You start building confidence, immediately get access to the complete system. You save money during this enrollment special. By the way, that 50% discount is good until tomorrow. That's our last day. But when you join, when you're on here live, that's how you get the Ditch, the Drama training bundle, all right. Number two wait until later. Okay, you risk paying full price. You miss the fast action bonus, all right.
Speaker 1:Let kind of a month of maybe more challenges or struggles pass you by. Continue to watch your struggle, try, and you know, just see how it goes. Or, number three you try and figure it out. You're Googling for answers, testing random strategies, kind of hoping things improve. Watch, maybe more opportunities slip by, and the choice is absolutely yours, like from mom to mom. I support you a hundred percent.
Speaker 1:I just also have seen so many parents regret waiting. They're like, okay, yeah, we'll see how it goes. And then, two months later, they're back and they're like, yeah, we probably should have started this two months ago. Okay, because you don't have a whole lot of time. You know, even if your daughter's in middle school and high school for sure, there's, like you're counting on one hand, how many, how many seasons she has left, or how many times, how many years she has left under your roof, where you can really make a difference by giving her these skills. And I don't know if you're anything like me, but, like I, I invest, I pay. I pay because my time is valuable. I do not have time and I know, like I'm a sports parent with kids going multiple places as well, I do not have time to Google things, piece things together and figure it out Like I will pay for the fastest results because I know that I'm gonna be following a proven system.
Speaker 1:Okay, all right, I'm gonna answer all your questions next. First thing, though, I'm seeing some things. Who is on the fence? If you're like, this sounds really cool, but I'm on the fence a little bit and you're like I'm just wondering about, go ahead and put that in the chat. Like, what are you wondering about? What is keeping you on the fence, kirsten? I see a good one for you Absolutely 100%, kirsten. That's why we have that guarantee. And welcome DMG. Jacqueline, sarah, erin, chris, amanda, luis, shannon, lars, tia, christian, jamie or Kristen, jamie, laura, julia, carlos, chelsea, nicole, jessica, andrea. We're so excited to meet you all inside the program. Okay, so some people are on the fence because, okay, I'm trying to maybe chat with your daughter about it a little bit, chat with a husband. Yeah, okay, I'm going to be addressing some of these things in a second Okay, also with some questions that we have.
Speaker 1:Oh, yeah, so it's still in elementary, so maybe a bit too early. And, nikki, I hear that for sure. You can always jump in as a parent and start consuming and doing the parent side, just so that you're setting her up for success based on, like, what you're saying, what you're doing when it comes to her confidence or her mental game, and then you can enroll her whenever she is ready. We have, um, you know, families who they're like. Well, you know, my older kids are ready to go and ready to be enrolled in the program, but I've got, like an eight year old and I want to wait a couple of years and a couple of years again. Lifetime access, enroll her. Okay, um, for one pros, one, one price. Well, let's land with an 11 year old. Yeah, we've had several 11 year olds in the program. We say, like I think I said on this, like 12 to 13 is really a starting place, like 11, especially if she either is experiencing some of the things that we've talked about today or you want to give her the skills, because it's a lot easier to teach a kid how to swim than it is to like try and save them when they're drowning. Okay, like, it's way easier to be like, hey, I'm going to teach you these skills so that when you get into the challenging situation you have them, rather than like, oh, okay, like, now I need to save you. Yeah, okay, this is kind of everything that we've talked about so far.
Speaker 1:There's that clickable link um, elite competitorcom forward slash join EMG. As I said, you have to use that link in order to, number one, get our pricing discount and, number two, get that fast action bonus applied directly into your portal when you join our run here live. So those of you that have joined, when we're on here, live um it, your fast action bonus at the dish, the drama training bundle. You'll find that under the bonus section in your portal, so we automatically add that in. Okay, um, but yeah, this is everything the timer is. Honestly, you don't actually need to worry too much about it. I will be on here answering questions as long as we have them and then, as soon as I'm done answering questions, we're going to do our giveaway for a free spot inside EMG. Now, if you did already join EMG, you are still eligible for the giveaway, so don't worry about that. We'll refund you if you joined and then you win the giveaway.
Speaker 1:Okay, can you explain lifetime access? Can kid number one start the program now and kid number two start the program this fall? Yes, absolutely. All you need to see. You have an enrollment form when you join um, your email and enrollment form, and so if you want kid number one to join now, uh, and enroll, you'll enroll them and then you'll just use that same link, that same form, in the fall to enroll kid number two and then um lifetime access. Also noted on that is that if you do have a younger athlete, like they might not actually be struggling with some of the things that we address in the program until later on in her sport, and so lifetime access means that she has access to that and, um, so it grows with them and we need to be reminded more than we need to be taught. Okay, so, having these skills accessible, like Ooh, yeah, we were coming up against like a big match and or like post-season and I need some extra skills. Um, or some refresh on, like, how am I going to deal with the pressure post-season? Go to EMG, like that's what it is.
Speaker 1:In phase two, she learns, um, I mentioned this her daily mindset routine. It's called the three, two, one. Brave, this really grounds her. Okay, this is her daily mindset routine five to six minutes. So even on the days I tell athletes they're like I actually don't have 30 minutes this week and, by the way, I recommend calendaring it. So put it on the calendar. Like you know, sundays at 4 PM we're doing EMG for 30 minutes. If you, if she follows that pace, she'll get through most of the content in about three months. But when I, when I hear athletes that are like I just it's just such a crazy week. I'm like just do your three, two and brave. Five to six minutes of mental training is more than nothing. It's more than most athletes are doing, honestly, and it's going to impact you a lot, all right. So the three, two and brave is our, our signature um, our, our signature daily mindset routine. It consists of there are three affirmations that are found through a specific process, two minutes of journaling. We know how impactful that is. One piece of gratitude, one piece of evidence that one of their affirmations is coming true, and then they do a specific visualization called brave, and that alone that five to six minutes three, two, one brave, like that makes a huge difference.
Speaker 1:Okay, all right, let me get to the Q&A doc here. Okay, these are good questions coming in. If I didn't get your question answered as we were going through um, our team is is shout out to the team. We've got coach sailor on. She's an athlete coach in our program. We've got Abby. She's our operations assistant.
Speaker 1:Um, who's helping us out? We've have Christina. She's the other co-founder of our company. Uh, we have coach Melinda in here. She's one of our, our parent coaches. So, thank you, team's doing awesome.
Speaker 1:So, okay, christina will help you out. Keisha, is it Keisha? Yeah, I think it's Keisha, if you. If it says that your emails already already exist, yeah, christina can help you out with that. Basically, that means that you probably have already purchased something from us, and so you, um, yeah, we'll help you out, okay, does this help with every sport?
Speaker 1:Yes, um, yeah, we've had multi-sport athlete, team sport athletes, individual sport athletes, like non-traditional sports, represented. Like, yeah, it works. I think I saw somebody in there. Um, does it work well with the gym for a gymnast? Yes, we've had many gymnasts in the program, especially those that are dealing with, like mental blocks. Gymnasts, I mean, go through so much. It's such a like a mentally demanding sport. Um, yeah, it can be tough. So, yes, absolutely. Yeah, laurie, I hear you hoping this will help my daughter get her confidence back. I mean, that's that's the greatest, the greatest hope that we can have for her too. And, um, you're in the right place. Yeah, absolutely.
Speaker 1:Um, have I worked with fencers? Yes, yes, you have Um on that. That reminds me, um, we, we actually have had more recently some like fencers in the program. They've been posting in our private community, but, um, but that reminded me of our one-on-one coaching as well. So some people are asking like do you do one-on-one coaching? In the Level Up Live support? Your daughter gets personalized coaching with the coach on call texting. But if you think she would benefit from having one-on-one sessions with one of our coaches, we offer that inside the program. We do not offer it outside of EMG, but at checkout you'll see that you can add on a one-on-one sessions.
Speaker 1:Um, if you want her to go a little bit deeper, um, that just reminded me of like I I have. I worked one-on-one with a fencer for several years. So, yes, okay, um, how fast will we see results? Okay, good question. Like, like I said at the beginning, like I am a person that pays for fast results just because we're so busy, and so we also designed the program to put most of the very essential foundational skills at the beginning of the program. Very quick wins, and so, for that reason, athletes start to see results within a week, definitely within two weeks, especially if they're doing the program Well, I mean, that's like a prereq you, in order to see results, you've got to, you've got to do it. Um, but phase one is where she learns her snapback routine and that's actually a, I mean, one of the greatest skills that she can learn in our state championship match.
Speaker 1:Another question I get sometimes is like, well, what if she's already like doing pretty well, like, uh, she's not immune to the things that face all athletes we have, like college athletes come in, olympic athletes come in and they say I deal with pregame nerves, I deal with pressure, you know, like everybody does. Okay, but in our state championship match we were like, we were down, and even to get to that like was an amazing feat for this young team that I had, um, and we were down championship point for the other team they were serving, they're about to win state. They hadn't won state in 36 years. We fought off that point. I look, my sophomore is going back to serve. I'm like sophomore, first year on varsity, first year playing at this on this big stage. Nails her serve we win that point. Nailed the next serve we win that point to stay alive. And then we won the fifth state set to win the championship, to stay alive. And then we won the fifth state to set to win the championship.
Speaker 1:And the reason I tell that story is the reporters asked her afterwards what were you thinking about when you went back to serve? And she was like I was just doing my snapback routine and I was like, oh my gosh, she was like I was doing my breath, I was doing my reset word, doing my breath, doing my reset word, and I'm like there it is. Like you know, once you get to the level of the occasion, we fall to level our systems. I think James clear said that. So, yeah, I was so proud. I was like, oh my gosh, I couldn't like like that's really where, like we had been training it and training it all season, but that's really where it made the biggest difference is in those moments. So, um, I think I, I think I maybe got off on that, but you know, snapback routine is within the first week, is when they learn that, so they start to see those results within the first couple of weeks.
Speaker 1:Okay, what is the best way to approach my daughter to help her know the difference between when I'm being her coach versus being her mom? She always thinks I'm coaching her and that I'm harder on her than others, thinks I'm picky on her. Okay, I actually have a really specific exercise that you should do with her. So, if you're a mom and a coach, um, first of all, we have a whole section in the program for moms who are coaches, because we just have a lot of those in our program. So like kind of navigate that. First of all, you need to recognize that you're putting her in a tough position by being her coach. Okay, as much as it is, like it's probably your passion, same with me profession, and all of that Like it's hard being in coaches kids. So we just got to like call it out for her and the other thing is like actually sit down and do this activity, get out a piece of paper, put at the top of the paper, put mom and put coach and then down the side, kind of like a matrix.
Speaker 1:You're going to put the situations that you're in together, so pregame, during game, post game, car ride home, dinner table and literally write out what does mom sound like in these situations and what does coach sound like in these situations. So pregame mom might sound like you know she's you're doing your pregame routine together. It's very short. She's saying things that are focused on in your control. Maybe it's like you know, trust your training, I love you, like those types of things that you learn in the program. Okay, coach is probably going to be reminding you of things. She's going to be coaching you. You know she's going to be maybe critiquing you a little bit Like that's what coach would sound like. You do that for every situation and then you tell her like, uh, there's some times where you can choose who you get, okay, and I'm going to leave it on you. So at the dinner table. Or you can even put a boundary around the dinner table that we're not talking about the game, but in the car ride home. I've even had moms who are coaches. Like put your scrunchie on your wrist If you want me to be mom, take it off If you want me to be coach, and just those boundaries are like game changing when it comes to this. So I would try that. Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1:16 year old daughter attends a private soccer school, is recovering from an injury and just cleared to play, but struggling, being slow, mistakes, et cetera. Now not motivated to train, get in shape. Think about her goals. How can I help? Okay, that's super tough In injuries and like coming back from injuries are one of the toughest things athletes can do, because their identity is tied up in that. Their role is different. They feel like maybe they don't have value to the team. Um, there's so, there's so much.
Speaker 1:So I first think, like you know, creating space for her to kind of feel the feelings that she's going through as she's recovering from the injury is important. I would also connect with her around, like do you still like your sport? Do you still want to play? And kind of get to the root of like uncovering the layers, like part of parenting, you know, and being a sports parent is like what's the real thing here? You know, we probably have an idea of what it is, but in order to get her to like articulate that, we've got to like we got to tell me more. Tell me more about that, okay. Report, like literally be a reporter. If she's telling you something like what's the headline? Ask like does that sound right? Is that okay? Tell me more. And like, just keep going, keep digging into what the real issue is. And it's like I feel like I don't matter anymore to the team, right? Or I feel like I'm never going to be as good as I was before.
Speaker 1:And then we can challenge that thought, okay, and in the program we use the tear process. So it's like what's the thought, all right. What's the emotion? What's the action? What's the result? And now can we shift the thought? We also use um. I don't know if any of you are familiar with Byron Katie and her process called the work, and really challenging Like, is this not true? Is it absolutely true? How do you feel when you believe that thought? Is it absolutely true? How do you feel when you believe that thought? You know how would you be without that thought. Have a player, okay, and what's a more productive thought. So those are skills that you know you can kind of help guide her through.
Speaker 1:It's what we do in the program as well, but also like injury and returning from injury is like one of the prime times athletes can work on their mental game. So athletes who are injured or coming back from an injury, like doing EMG during that time is like so great to help them with their focus. We also have some extra resources for athletes who are injured. So if you're in that boat and you're joining EMG, reach out to us and we can hook you up with some extra injury resources as well. Yeah, okay, great question, and welcome those of you that are joining the program. We've got um, we've got a few. A few more questions, then we'll go to our giveaway.
Speaker 1:Oh, I also have had some questions about the $79, um for the level up live support. So here's what happens with level up live support you get three free months for our winter enrollment special Okay, it's like a three month free trial. If you want to continue with level up live support so that's the coach on call, texting, the live calls then it's $79 a month after that, but you do not have to continue if you don't want to A lot of moms do because they're like I love the live calls, I love the guest speakers, I love that she has access to a coach via text. So if you want to, if you want to continue beyond the three month free trial of level up live support, then it's $79 a month. You do not lose any access to the content of the elite mental game though, okay, no, you still have lifetime access to all of the content inside EMG. That level up live support is there for you. First three months are free and then, if you want to continue, it's $79 a month, but you do not have to. All right, welcome to EMG. Amanda, kelly, marie, ian, heidi, carrie, rachel, nicole, Ellen, lainey, kara, ryan, anne and Mark Cannot wait to get going with your families and, I'll mention it again Our pricing discount for the winter enrollment special expires tomorrow.
Speaker 1:So you have until tomorrow to get that pricing discount. If you want to jump in while we're on here, live, we are giving you our Ditch the Drama training bundle for free as a fast action bonus for that. So, yes, and yes, kelly, do all siblings get to do the live support for the $79 a month? And yes, that is correct. So great questions. Okay, and yes, this link, the link for enrollment, will be emailed out as well. So you'll get the replay and you'll get this pricing discount link emailed to you in a couple of hours.
Speaker 1:Okay, what if daughter already has mental coach? How do we layer this on top? Actually, I'm going to answer that question. Second, because I see something. Is there any other training for athletes to learn how to talk to their coach, or is that extra in the mini course? Our five-step framework is just in the Ditch, the mini course. So, um, obviously, the, the skills that they're learning throughout the program are going to help them with their confidence, their advocacy, but the specific five-step framework is inside that ditch. The drama training bundle, um, okay, but back to that question. If she already has a mental coach. How do we layer this on top? Um, I think it works really well, like if you are, if you have a mental training coach or maybe um sports psychologist, that she's seeing first of all, that's like a very intensive process. Um, it's great, but it's like you know, you're scheduling the appointment, you're seeing them face to face, all of that. This is great for the in-between.
Speaker 1:Okay, like, these are skills that she can be listed. She's got visualizations right at her fingertips. I think we have 15 visualizations in there that she can have access to right from her phone. So she's got the visualizations. You know she has these, these short, bite-sized lessons that she's like okay, I'm dealing with pregame nerves now I don't have access to my mental coach. I'm your mental coach, I'm there. I'm here inside EMG, log into the EMG portal, listen to the pregame routine section and, and she's good. So she has, like, more readily available training skills and it's more of a foundation.
Speaker 1:I've talked to parents who are like we're kind of considering this or a sports psychologist they're. They're very different and whatever. I would never, ever dissuade anybody from getting the resources that they need for their athlete. Or, like a therapist, we are not therapists Okay, um, we provide specific mental training skills for athletes that are applicable to their sport but also to life. Okay, and so this is just an easier not necessarily easier, but it's an easy way to get a good foundation of mental skills without maybe having to like schedule an appointment with a sports psychologist or something like that.
Speaker 1:Okay, is the mini bundle lifetime access as well? Yes, good question. Okay, cool, does anyone have snapback routine ideas for gymnasts? Okay, yeah, I mean, our gymnasts all have a snapback routine in the program, so it kind of depends on their routine. For a lot of gymnasts You're not gonna be able to do anything physical, so a typical like reset signal is like touching a finger, like fingers together adjusting a hair tie, adjusting a sock, like those types of things. And those are more applicable to athletes who potentially have like halftime in between. Or it's a timeout or they're done with that routine. They can do it, um, but if they're like mid routine, then it would just be their word. Okay, it would be a breath and a word. It's. It's the intention, um, and the focus on the breath and the word that can bring them back to the present moment as well.
Speaker 1:Okay, welcome, dmg Heather, krista, heidi, we're really excited to see you as well inside the program. Okay, I answered. Excuse me, I've answered the questions that I have in front of me, but if you have a question and it hasn't been answered, first of all, I'm sorry, because the chat is probably going super fast and our team is doing their absolute best and they're doing awesome at making sure that your questions get answered. But if you're like my question didn't get answered, pop it right now in the Q and a. Okay, just go over and put it in the Q and a so that we can make sure we grab it. We're going to do our giveaway in a second. But if you're like maybe it got missed or like somebody responded to it in the chat and then a bunch of other things happen, you got to scroll up or whatever Um, just pop it in the Q and a. We'll make sure that it gets answered.
Speaker 1:Okay, let's do our winner, though, for okay, if I choose payments and include the mini bundle, would that be spaced out as well? Um, oh, okay. So if you're talking about the, there's a little bit of a. There's like an add-on extra training um that you can choose to put in there, the. If you're talking about the dish, the drama mini bundle. That's free, so you don't need to like, you don't need to worry about that, um, but there's another little thing at checkout if you want to add it in. I think there's a little like um, it's like a little mini course for some other topics. Um, that would be a one-time charge. It would not be broken up.
Speaker 1:Okay, um, let's pick a winner, but I am seeing, um a question here that I don't want to go away. Um, yes, this, all this information will be in your inbox afterwards and they can watch the replay as well. Okay, our winner for the elite mental game. What you're going to do is, um, in order to be entered for this giveaway, you're just going to, in the chat, drop your biggest aha from the training. So, what stuck with you, what is something that you were like, oh, that's a good mindset shift. Or you know just what's your aha from today. Drop that in the chat and that will enter your name into our giveaway.
Speaker 1:Um, yeah, the boy athlete question. I don't think I addressed that specifically, but, um, yes, we've had boy athletes come through very successfully, um, a lot of times. We have households who have boys and girls and they want you know we want access to both and um, yeah, so they all get their own login. Our trainings are gender neutral and our visualizations are gender neutral. You can tell our branding is kind of gender neutral as well, but we do have images of female athletes throughout because that's primarily who we serve, um, so as long as you're okay with that, then the skills do apply. Kind of depends on your athlete, though, like, uh, in the maturity level of your athlete. So if they're like, yeah, um, this looks like it's for girls and they're not gonna be down with that, then they're probably not gonna get results. But most athletes, most boy athletes, um, specifically ones that are in middle school, high school, like they, they do just fine.
Speaker 1:Um, as far as the live calls, like they're mostly girls on the live calls. So if, if you're going to choose to have him in level up live support, which is totally optional, um, he can either come to live call and it is what it is and he can listen in um, I've called him and it is what it is and he can listen in um or not. It's it's kind of up to him. So, okay, these are great. Ahas focus more on self-talk. Parents have to be a part of it. You're not just the athlete. Thoughts become your beliefs and become your identity, helps in sports and life. These are so great. Oh yeah, the sushi train smoothie concept yeah, I love that one. I think of it every time I make a smoothie, which is every day, and I'm like it's treating it on my smoothie glass. I'm gonna move on from this. This is great. Okay, I'll give one last call to be entered into the giveaway for a free spot inside the Elite Mental Game, and those of you that have joined already, you are eligible to also earn the giveaway. So put your aha in the chat as well. And then, oh, there's more. Sorry, I missed these. Yeah, thank you Christina.
Speaker 1:Would this be confidential for anyone who joins? Brittany asks that. I want to make sure I'm answering your question correctly. Yeah, like confidential and like we don't share. We don't share information we don't share, like your, your daughter's, like anything that she is is sharing with us, with anybody else in the training portal. She can choose to comment, and if she's not comfortable commenting things with anybody else in the training portal, she can choose to comment. And if she's not comfortable commenting things, it's pretty like surfacy things that she's commenting on inside the portal, but in her workbook that she uses to follow along in the program, like, she's going to get as deep. You know she can get as deep as she wants in there. Um, if you're talking about confidentiality as far as, like, who's joining the program, um, yes, I, I. I just want to make sure I'm answering this correctly. If we're not sharing information with anybody, we're not sharing any of that. So, but if you have more detail about that, let let me know.
Speaker 1:Okay, jean, I want to share this with my adult children. Okay, will the info be in my inbox? Yes, absolutely. My daughter doesn't have her own email and phone. Can she use my email and phone? Yes, you can share a login with your athlete. Um, a lot of younger athletes are doing that. You know they're sharing the email and the phone number, um, with their parent. So, yeah, okay. And then I answered the boy one Cool, okay, okay, I think we are good to pick our giveaway for our free spot inside the elite mental game and welcome Krista, carrie, colin and Peyton.
