Other amazing activities, including the Nutbush World Record Attempt, raising funds and awareness for the Royal Flying Doctors Service. The Mad Max World Record Attempt set in 2022. The record for the most Mad Max characters gathered in one place. The Big Blue Day, where we created a new world record and raised a lot of money for Beyond Blue. We set the new world record for the largest human image of a country. And, of course, the Mundi Undie Run, also raising money for the flying doctor service and absolutely hilarious.

We are here in the overflow green room at the Mundi Mundi Bash with Sarah McLeod. I had to come all the way from South Australia here to catch up with you again. You've just come off stage. Killer set. How are you feeling?

Sarah McLeod:

I feel fun. That was a really fun show. I I went on relaxed. I felt like I wasn't thinking about what's what's next or what I should be doing or what chords are playing, which is what I usually think if I wasn't thinking about anything, I was just like how's my life?

Cheryl Lee:

you just got out and enjoyed it yeah, I just had fun.

Sarah McLeod:

I've had a really lovely day.

Cheryl Lee:

I've been in a very good mood lately good on you well we've been here for six days, hence I can't take my hat off, but you look so fresh and lippy and everything have you flown in and you're going to fly out, or are you hanging around?

Sarah McLeod:

I just got here yesterday. Oh no wonder you look good.

Cheryl Lee:

I haven't had time to get filthy yet, but this is not your first rodeo, is it?

Sarah McLeod:

You're a little bit of a bash bitch, is that what you've done? A few festivals. What she means is that I'm well accustomed to the ways of the desert.

Cheryl Lee:

Yes, second Mundi Mundi yes, and you're also an ambassador, the queen of the Queensland Festival, is that right?

Sarah McLeod:

That music? Oh, the LA Beach Music Festival. Yes, I'm actually not anymore. I am on the board for the Australian Women in Music Awards, though, and that is my current new focus passion at the moment, which is really fun, excellent. Where can we read about that? Everywhere online. The awards are on the 2nd of October and, yeah, national Awards celebrating all things women in music

Cheryl Lee:

Well done, great ambassador. We're going to see you next in our beautiful town with the Rolling Stones review in Adelaide oh yes, I'm playing there in a couple of weeks or something, yeah yeah, at our Her Majesty's Theatre. Is it Her Majesty's? It's very fancy great.

Sarah McLeod:

Oh yeah, that's a beautiful theatre. Yeah, happy to play there.

Cheryl Lee:

So we look forward to seeing you there then.

Sarah McLeod:

Me too. I've done a few shows with the Rolling Stones Review before, and it's a good party.

Cheryl Lee:

Yeah, yeah, and then I think you're off to Perth the next day.

Sarah McLeod:

Yep, where can they find all the dates, the Super Jesus dates are all on the Super Jesus website, which is thesuperjesus. com, and my dates are all on sarahmcleodofficialcom and I think the Super Jesus dates are all on sarahmccloudofficialcom and I think the Super J esus dates are on there too, so you can just go there if you want, just get on the Google-o-meter, you can find them. Sarah McLeod, superstar, right, yeah, you just type that in. You'll be home and hosed.

Cheryl Lee:

Christ knows where you'll end up. We haven't got long because you've got to go off and there's a line a mile and a half long of people wanting you to have a photo and sign their merch. But I just wanted to ask you and I think I've asked you this before but what's on your playlist at the moment, when you can listen to whatever you want to?

Sarah McLeod:

I've got a favourite. Well, this morning, all the way here I was listening to Cliff Richard. What Doll Got myself crying, walking, breathing, talking, living dog. I was like this is such a great song. Was that a mistake, or did you? No, I googled it. I woke up feeling like listening to Cliff Richard. Good on you.

Cheryl Lee:

I must say, though, I am disappointed about one thing. What's that? I haven't had the call up for my tambourine playing as yet? Oh, you know what I lost?

Sarah McLeod:

my tambourine. I shoot you not. And because I was writing a song yesterday and I was like this is the perfect song for tambourine. I went where is the tambourine and I looked all over the house and I can't find it.

Cheryl Lee:

I've lost my tambourine. First it was my. I could have brought my own tambourine.

Sarah McLeod:

Oh, you didn't tell me, you had your own tambourine, I have my own tambourine.

Cheryl Lee:

I've probably got several tambourines Next time. We've talked about the dates and people can go and find them. Anything else that you'd like to cover, sarah, today, before you race off to your legion of fans?

Sarah McLeod:

I well. I have a new single coming out called the Muse on October 2nd, which will be the first single off my new solo record that comes out next year. The Superjesus have a new single coming out in mid-September I forget what date, but that's called Something Good. So I was waiting for the Superjesus record to come out and then I was going to start doing my solo stuff, but we just keep putting out songs.

Sarah McLeod:

It's never ending, so I'm just going to start dumping on top of it. So it's just songs coming over it as usual.

Cheryl Lee:

you're a very, very busy girl. Is there anything in the horizon for Sarah McLeod's solo tour-wise Yep?

Sarah McLeod:

As soon as the Super Jesus album tour is finished, which will be April, then I'm going to focus on touring the solo stuff and my new solo record I love it. I've been working on it for about five years, so it's a bit of a heart piece.

Cheryl Lee:

Is it all originals? All covers a bit of everything.

Sarah McLeod:

No, it's awesome. It's mostly stuff I wrote on piano. Awesome, yeah, it's beautiful. Well, we look forward to that.

Cheryl Lee:

A couple of funny bangers actually. Thank you so much You've flat-chat, I know. Thank you for sitting down and chatting with us today.

Sarah McLeod:

Lovely to see you again and we look forward to catching you later tonight for a bit of Tina Turner. Yeah, I'm going to be doing a bit of Tina Turner. I'm doing Private.

Cheryl Lee:

Dancer on piano. Ooh, nice, yeah, beautiful song. I do love it when you just sit down and play the piano. So do I, and I don't get to do it live very often.

Sarah McLeod:

No. I convinced them to let me do it. They were like, can you do? Big Wheels Keep On Turning. I was like, no, no, I want to do it on the piano. And they're like, okay, I guess, and there's. And then halfway through I'm gonna grab the mic and get rid of the piano and then come down the front.

Sarah McLeod:

So I've never done that before, but I always see, like you know, delta good room in there too and I was like, yeah, I can do that, do that yeah, so I'm gonna do that today and, if you get a chance, to throw one more in your version of rising sun is the best version. I was to do it today and I was like I've just done it long enough. My set's not long enough.

Cheryl Lee:

Yeah, god damn it. Tell them. There's been a special request from the radio chick, cheryl Lee, and you'll be good to go Tell who? Tell my people, your people, your people Tell the promoter. Tell the people. Okay, all right, I'll try. It's so good to catch up.

Sarah McLeod:

Enjoy the rest of your time here, Thanks.

Cheryl Lee:
