Speaker 1:

I would tell someone who wants to divorce that divorce is not a solution, and I believe we're much better off when we do the hard work of repair in our present marriage rather than settling for an escape and out with the thought it's going to be better somewhere else, only to find out later down the road that we've got the same situations, but in greater quantities. So I would encourage people to take some time and really really consider fixing their present relationship. There's no guarantees about the future None.

Speaker 2:

So I would say to someone who is thinking about divorce that I understand I was there, that I understand I was there. Many times we think it's the easy way out. Marriage is not easy, but it's totally worth to fight for. That's what I wanted to say. It's not something that we learn in a day or in a month or in a year. It's a process, so we just have to learn you know to do marriage, to do marriage together.

Speaker 1:

Can I change?

Speaker 2:

my answer yeah, go ahead, whatever that means. What she said how would you guys compare your marriage now compared to when it was, when you first got married?

Speaker 1:

That's good, one of the huge changes for me. I don't struggle at all with trust issues, and that's huge. I don't worry about where she's going, who she's with, who she's talking to. I don't check emails, I don't check phones. I trust her because I know she wants to be here, and that's gold. That's worth a million dollars or probably a hundred million dollars. Such a difference. I sleep well at night. I look forward to going home. I have energy for the day. I'm hopeful for the future. I'm not panicked, I'm not worried, I'm not distraught. It's beautiful.

Speaker 2:

You know, thinking about first marriage, I can mention a couple of things, like I didn't feel loved. I didn't feel loved, I didn't feel value, um, and that just made me try to find it somewhere else, or or that someone else made me feel, you know, like I was getting that. So now our marriage it's, I mean, better than ever before. You know, like I feel loved and I feel secured, mm-hmm, and I want to be here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I can tell, I know, I know, and we're not perfect by any means, but we're here.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we're here.

Speaker 1:

We're doing it. We're blessed, our children are blessed, our family is blessed, our friends are blessed and hopefully we can bless a lot of marriages, a lot of other people along the way too, but we're working on it. I hear a drawback sometimes from people about the cost of the workshop, and I just remind people of how much they're going to spend on attorneys and the cost of the workshop is pennies on the dollar compared to what they're going to spend in court and all the legal process. My encouragement to those who manage to get there and to come is do your own work. Just don't be. Did you get that? Did you hear that? That's for you, that's you right there? That approach it doesn't work. It's a push, but just go in and get the maximum for you as an individual. If your spouse were to do the same at any point now in the future, it's going to work, but do your work.

Speaker 2:

So for me, I wish I had heard or you know, we had the opportunity to go to the workshop before getting married. We had the opportunity to go to the workshop before getting married. But I guess the difference now, after attending to the workshop three times, it's that I have the tools, I have the understanding and I can apply all the information I received at the workshop. I even learned that I was so wrong in many things that I thought I was doing right. So I would really encourage people to attend to the workshop and receive and being able to get all the information and all the tools that we get there so we can apply them.
