Hello, hello, and welcome to the Vibrant Mind, Vibrant Life podcast. I'm your host, Sian Hill, and today I want to talk about a topic that is really close to my heart because it's something that I've experienced myself. Time and time again over the years, and I know that it's something that many people struggle with when it comes to manifestation, to creating the life that it is you want. And that is, not addressing how you feel about your current circumstances. In the hope that by getting the thing that you want, by achieving the goal, by having the relationship, by having the money in the bank, it's going to magically fix how you feel about it. Now the reason that this is really important is because this whole process is essentially putting your power outside of you. It's giving your power to the, the things that you want. And when you give the power to the things that you want, you don't have it yourself. That's not empowering. And it puts them on a pedestal. And the minute you put something on a pedestal, it's out of reach. So it's really important and empowering to understand this principle and really address what it is that needs working on Rather than going for a shiny object that acts as one big plaster because the thing with a plaster is it's not dealing with the wound It's like putting a happy face on it thinking when I get this thing, then I will feel a certain way. And I get it. I really do get it because I've been there so many times thinking when I get the thing then I'll feel good. When I get this then I'll feel safe. Then I'll feel secure. And the truth is that however you feel right now, the feeling of scarcity, the lack that you are experiencing is going to be exaggerated when you have more. The feeling of fullness comes from within, not from the external. So let me bring this to life to kind of make it real and tangible so you can grasp what it is that I'm talking about. Imagine for a moment, you have 100 in the bank and when you look at that 100, when you think about that 100, all you feel is lack, it feels like there's not enough, to get your bank account up to twenty thousand pounds. and you truly believe that, when you have twenty thousand pounds, you are going to feel better. You're going to feel secure, you're going to feel safe, you're going to relax and, You're going to be out of fight or flight mode where your body is in constant stress. And any problems you're experiencing are going to be fixed. And then one day, 20, 000 lands in your bank account. Maybe you win a competition, or you get a contract, or whatever it might be, but that 20, 000 that you've been desiring, 20, Lands in your bank, but you haven't actually worked on the emotions that you were feeling around money, the beliefs that you have around money, the scarcity, the lack, your relationship with money. Those feelings are going to still be there and they will be exaggerated because now there's more to hold, there's more to handle. Now this could play out in thoughts such as, it's gonna run out, the money's not gonna last, I'll never be able to make this much again. And so unconsciously, people start to get rid of it. So maybe they start spending it on stuff they don't need because holding that money doesn't actually feel safe. Even though you want the money, it feels unknown, it feels unsafe. And so your nervous system sees it as a threat and goes into overdrive. So thinking that it will bring you peace if you don't already have peace, is going about it backwards. Now, I'm going to caveat this with, of course, there may be a moment of, you know, Relief. If somebody is in the position where they haven't been able to pay their bills and suddenly they have some money then of course there is going to be a moment of celebration and feeling good and after that initial high wears off, what are you then left with? Do you have the stability within your nervous system to continue that momentum, to continue to bring in the money to sustain it and feel regulated whilst doing it? So that it just feels normal. Receiving that money then just feels like, I don't know, a random Tuesday where nothing spectacular happened. It's just life. Now, my own experience of this happened a few months ago. I think I was listening to a podcast, watching a, a masterclass or YouTube. I can't remember what it was. And you know, sometimes you can hear the same message over and over again, and you get it intellectually, but it doesn't quite land and then one day somebody says something in a way that resonates deep to your core. And although I've known this principle for years, It hit me in a way that made me think differently. The way that I was feeling in that moment about money was very scarce, very lackful. Even though there was money in my bank, I didn't feel safe. I didn't feel secure. I'd be looking at when am I delivering another course, when is my next client coming in. So even when I received money, I would think, right, how long has that got to last me? Which is a very abundant mindset, right? Looking at it as though, well, nothing else is going to come in between now and whenever. I've got to make it last. So there was a good indication in that moment. So when I heard that message, that however you feel today about the thing, so we'll continue with the theme of money, however you feel about that today, if you get more of it, so if you get more money, You're going to feel more of that. I had that lightning bolt realization that if I receive more money right now. The way that I feel is gonna be amplified, and I don't want that feeling, I don't want to feel more of this, which is probably why I was resisting it, because unconsciously, it's like, if you give me more, I'm gonna feel more, And quite frankly, I couldn't handle it, and I didn't want to. I didn't want to amplify the way that I was feeling. that Moment, I really committed in a way that I never have done before. And bear in mind, I've been teaching about, talking about, learning about mindset, emotions, law of attraction, manifestation for years, and understanding the principles intellectually. And embodying a lot of them. They have literally transformed my life. And I know that there is so much more available that I haven't been tapping into, that I haven't been accessing. And in that moment, I understood it. I got it. I made a commitment to myself that my focus was going inwards. That I was doing the work to feel good about money. To feel good about my circumstances exactly where I was I was focusing all of my attention on releasing any resistance around what was about my life as it stood in that moment And the reason that's so important is because of the saying, what you resist persists. So when you push against something, when there's something in your life that you don't like, when there's something that you're not acknowledging, that you're avoiding, so you're pushing at it, it persists, it pushes away. back. And I could feel resistance in my body. I could feel it in my energy. I could hear it in my thoughts. I knew that there was some resistance there, yet I'd been resistant to doing anything to change it. And I got to the point that I was ready to do it, I was ready to confront those things that I'd been avoiding. And that felt like really deep work for me. I held a lot of shame around where I was. Thinking I should be further along. Thinking I should have more physical evidence to prove my worth. To prove that, hey Sean, who are you to talk about this stuff when you're not living the millionaire lifestyle? But I'll save that whole one for another episode. I'll In that moment I had a real realization that what I wanted to have in my life, in my mind, in my body, in my spirit was peace and a feeling of abundance around everything that I had. Whilst working towards the things that I desire. So this isn't about saying, I don't have any goals anymore. I have to be happy and grateful with my lot. It's about loving life where you are, but really loving it. Not loving it because you should or because you've been told that it's a good thing to do. It's about really accepting yourself fully exactly where you are so that the resistance releases and your nervous system calms down and you feel relaxed and at peace. And when you're in that space, you have trust. You have trust in yourself. You have trust in the universe. without trying to force things without trying to force any change because when you become okay with where you are change becomes like the icing on the cake it's fun to do rather than having that need behind it When you already have access to what it is that you're really looking for, you then become ready to receive it. I think the switch that flipped for me in that moment was realizing that yes, I could have the, the 50, 000 day, the million pound month, the Ferrari, all these things, and even if I got them, I wasn't going to feel any different. It doesn't fill a hole, it doesn't change the internal world. And this is why people can go on to have great outward success, yet the void feels even bigger, because the things that they thought were going to fill it, didn't do the job. And it can lead to thinking, well now what, because even with the stuff, they still felt that way. Now the difference that I had this time, and I know I'm kind of, I feel like I'm making this all about me, but I'm sharing my experience to explain to you what happened and how it's, the impact that it's had. What was different is that I wasn't doing the work to get the stuff. I was doing the work because I wanted to feel good now. The stuff is a wonderful byproduct, but what I really wanted and what I really committed to was me feeling good, me feeling stable, me feeling powerful, no matter what the circumstances. Because circumstances can change in the blink of an eye, yet what you always take is yourself with you wherever you go. So becoming powerless to circumstances, relying on relationships, money, whatever it might be, to feel good, doesn't bring with it any inner stability at all. I chose to focus on that inner stability. And I use that as the gauge to see improvements. So rather than looking to the external and saying, Oh, did some extra money come in today? Did a new client sign up? I started looking to my inner world as I was navigating circumstances. So if I had a day where maybe a bill come in that was unexpected, or maybe a client didn't sign up. I used that moment to check in with myself to see how I felt about it. And what I found is by doing the work, by releasing that resistance through doing the processes that I use with myself and my clients, I found that no matter what was presented to me, I felt the same. I felt good and stable within me regardless. And that's when I knew things had shifted. and of course as this stuff works After a short while The external world reflected back to me how I'd been feeling internally. And that came up in a variety of ways. There was a period of things crumbling down, so seemingly falling to the ground. And even though that happened, I still felt completely stable in my knowing that everything was working out. I still trusted completely that things were on track. And bit by bit, they have started building back up again. Over the coming weeks, I'll tell you more about what those things actually are. I sound really cryptic. It's really not that exciting. Not that exciting in your world anyway, but I've kind of left it on a cliffhanger now, so I feel like Yeah, I'm, I'm gonna, I'm gonna leave it there anyway. So how then can you begin to uncover those unconscious patterns, those things that you're maybe not even aware of that are keeping things in place, that are keeping that resistance in place, and then how can you begin to uncover those unconscious patterns? Release that resistance to alchemise it so it actually becomes your most powerful gift. And between now and then. Ask yourself the question, how can I feel safe with the money that I have? How can I feel safe with the relationship that I am in or not in? So this isn't limited to money, it's whatever the resistance is that you're experiencing. How can I begin to feel safe and good in the job that I'm in? And think about what is it that you're doing through that scarcity, through that feeling of lack, what are the behaviours, the thoughts, the feeling? What are the patterns that are present? And you'll probably find that whether you have a lot of money or a little, whether your relationship is in a good place or not, whether you are single or dating, the same patterns play out in one way, shape or form. There will be themes, there will be similarities. How does that show up for you? How does that play out in your life? So to give you an example, if it was money and somebody had a hundred pound in their bank And they were thinking thoughts like, it's not enough, it's gonna run out. And they were worried about where the next load of money was coming from. And that same person then has ten thousand pound in their bank, yet what they recognize is they're still thinking the same thoughts, they're still feeling the same feelings. Like, it's still not enough, I thought it would be, but I'm still worried about it running out. And whether I have a lot or a little, I manage to spend it all. So have a look at what are the similarities ask yourself, if I believed fully that I was taken care of, that I was abundant, that I could trust in myself and the process of life, how would I show up differently? What is on the other side of that scarcity? Because the first step to changing anything is becoming aware of it. It's bringing those unconscious patterns into conscious awareness. When you recognize what they are and you take ownership for them, you are taking back your power and then it's a choice as to whether or not you want to release them, whether or not you want to change things and you don't have to. Change isn't necessary. Yet if you're listening to this podcast, I'm going to assume that change, growth, evolution, being the best version of yourself, creating a life that you really love, is important to you. And whatever tools you then choose as your method to releasing that resistance it's up to you. You have agency over that.
