When you hear the phrase “networking event”, do you get excited? Or are you one of many people who get nervous at the thought of having to walk through a building full of strangers and create small talk because you know making connections is good for your business? Whichever group you’re in, Swire Ho has networking tips for you! While make take the mindset of needing to hand out a stack of business cards at an event, Swire believes there’s a better way to create stronger connections that will be mutually beneficial for both business owners involved. Today, he’s here to share all of that and more. This week, episode 142 of Listeners to Leads is about making meaningful connections through networking for your podcast!

Born and raised in Hong Kong, Swire Ho immigrated to Los Angeles in 1996. A proud Asian American, he began his career as a sound engineer, working at recording studios and entertainment agencies before starting his own firm, Hellman Production in 2003. After receiving the SCORE Award for Small Business Success for creating outstanding custom merchandise, Swire sold Hellman Production to focus exclusively on the promotional product industry. Swire is also the host of The Small Business Show podcast.

In this episode of Listeners to Leads, Swire Ho is sharing the importance of creating deeper connections with a few key individuals at networking events and actionable steps you can take right now to learn about the business needs of your podcast guests.

Swire and I also chat about the following:

  • Focusing on creating a few key connections at networking events instead of handing out a blanket of business cards.
  • In-person and online networking tips for introverts.
  • The importance of referrals in entrepreneurship.
  • Keeping the connection alive with your podcast guests after their episode goes live.

If you’re interested in learning more about custom promotional products, Swire has put together a helpful list of resources for you to check out!

Be sure to tune in to all the episodes to receive tons of practical tips on turning your podcast listeners into leads and to hear even more about the points outlined above.
