Derek Winston is an 11th year overseas basketball player who plays for Switzerland LNB. Last year he averaged 13.3 points a game  and 3.4 assist. He  started playing basketball in a small town called Ada, Oklahoma. He went on to become the top scorer in his state his senior year. Not getting the offer he wanted, Derek went on to play basketball at a junior college and then transfer to a University. He struggled in college to prove himself and almost gave up on his goal of playing basketball.  He ended up getting discovered while playing in a professional Euro Tournament in 2009 where he would get his first break.

He runs a basketball academy called the DJW Academy where he mentors and teaches kids the game of basketball from ages 6 to 20 years old.
