Miles G

In this first installment  of The Other Side of Business  we speak with Ian Bick who is featured on HBO's Generational Hustle episode 10 "The Party's Over"  Ian Bick transformed himself from a nerdy teen into a concert promoter and by the age of 19, he became the owner and operator of Tuxedo Junction, a music venue in Danbury, Connecticut.

As his EDM raves packed houses and fed his emerging  VIP lifestyle with first class trips, high end shopping, and brand new jet skis,  his fall is as dramatic as his rise. Ian served 36 months in prison for defrauding investors out of $500,000 and he was convicted on wire fraud and money laundering.

We'll look at some of the decisions that play a factor in a business becoming unethical. As we discuss business we feel its important to talk about both sides of business.

Breakdown:
How he became the owner of Tuxedo Junction and what lead him down that path
What he did in prison
How the HBO Special came about
His communication with his friends
Yale  students using his court case as a case study
What he's currently doing to support himself.
He gives some advice about  not getting caught up in social media likes and yearning for popularity which ultimately lead to his downfall.
