Taming The Tongue

Have you ever said something and wished you could take it back? It's as impossible as putting toothpaste back into the tube from which it came. Unfortunately, an uncontrolled tongue is a great deal messier. It usually causes much more damage too.

That's one of the many reasons the apostle, James, writes about controlling the tongue immediately after commanding and encouraging us to be "doers of the Word and not just hearers only (James 1:22)." Because it's such a small thing, our words often get overlooked in terms of its impact to our Christian life, but the book of James tells a much different story.
