Today on the podcast, Sarah and Nikki converse with the amazing Abrah Arneson, Clinical Herbalist, storyteller, and author of her most recent book, The Vessel: Women, Plants and Contraception. We explore memorable stories from the book, the nature of sharing this traditional herbal “herstory” and how contraceptive knowledge was passed from woman to woman empowering them in their reproductive health. We discuss the medicalization of women’s bodies, Abrah’s journey into herbalism, and the delicate balance between the analytical scientific gift of herbs and the feminine lens of coming into a relationship with them.
