Arctic Circle

In this episode, we will look into the next steps and recommendations for advancing polar cooperation and dialogue, building on the momentum from the One Planet - Polar Summit in Paris and the Polar Symposium in Monaco.

Our panelists include:

  • Pascal Lamy: Vice-President of the Paris Peace Forum and former Director-General of the World Trade Organization (2005-2013)
  • Frederik Paulsen: Chair of the Board of the University of the Arctic
  • Antje Boetius: Director of the Alfred Wegener Institute Helmholtz Centre for Polar and Marine Research in Germany

The discussion and following Q&A with the audience are moderated by Ólafur Ragnar Grímsson, Chairman of Arctic Circle and former President of Iceland.

This panel originally took place at the 2024 Arctic Circle Berlin Forum. The Polar Dialogue will be convened at the upcoming 2024 Arctic Circle Assembly, taking place from October 17 to 19 in Reykjavík, Iceland.

It is an open democratic platform with participation from governments, organizations, corporations, universities, think tanks, environmental associations, Indigenous communities, concerned citizens, and others interested in the development of the Arctic and its consequences for the future of the globe.
