Devotional:Having a faith that is bold, disciplined and pleasing to God
Hebrews 11:1 tells us that faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. We are called to live out our faith in a bold, discipline manner which is pleasing to God.
Boldness in our faith means living with the confidence that God is within us. Inspired by the Holly Spirit, Peter, and John were perceived to be uneducated and untrained when they addressed the esteemed council who in Acts 4:13 marveled at what they said as they realized that they had been with Jesus.
God wants our boldness to be paired with a discipled faith. Discipline within the context of faith is essential. A discipline faith means we incorporate acts of faith like prayer, scripture reading, fellowship service, witnessing and so much more regularly into our lives.
Hebrews 12:11 reminds us that a discipled faith will produce a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
When Jesus was baptized, God said in Matthew 17:5, This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased. We are the sons and daughters of the almighty. When we live out a faith that is bold and disciplined, we are living like Jesus has taught us transformed and pleasing to God.
