Devotional: God Wants You To Use Your Privilege For Good
Privilege is often defined as a special right, granted to a particular person or group. The key word here is “granted.” Think about it privilege can be shared. However, it can only be shared by someone who already has it, and yes, we all have privilege.
As the Son of God no one had more privilege than Jesus. Philippians 2:1-8 details how Jesus used his advantages setting the example for us to follow.
The passage encourages us to do nothing out of selfish ambition, rather we are admonished to look not to our own interests but to the interests of others.
We are called to have the same mindset as Christ who could have easily used his status and power to his own advantage, but instead used his privilege for the salvation of the world.
So, in 2024, use your privilege to mentor, to uplift, to advance, to become a servant leader like Jesus.
For God wants you to use your privilege for good.
