I’m Dawn Wiggins, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and EMDR specialist. I draw on decades of experience to help women navigate the emotional rollercoaster after ending a marriage. Hi love, welcome to Dear Divorce Diary, the podcast helping divorcees go beyond talk therapy to process your grief, find the healing you crave and build back your confidence. I'm your host, dawn Wiggins, a therapist, coach, integrative healer and divorcee. Join me for a fresh approach to healing grief and building your confidence after divorce. In today's episode, I'm going to review for you Deepak Chopra's book Quantum Body and I'm going to unpack for you how the concept of your quantum body intersects with all of the healing tools we discuss here on the podcast in terms of recovering from relationship trauma, from abuse, from early childhood attachment trauma. I'm going to tie together for you how the law of attraction, eft, tapping, emdr, homeopathy is all born of a quantum field. So this is becoming a more and more popular conversation, because this is what I've been studying for the last number of years, as I realized that traditional ways of healing were not working and that was largely because I had cluster headaches and nothing Western medicine did healed the cluster headaches. And the only places where I did get some relief was when I felt insanely happy. I would get relief when I would do certain functional medicine things. I would get some relief and I don't know. Those were kind of the two things, right. There was nothing Western medicine could provide me a pill, but that pill created way more downstream side effects, right, that were causing destruction in other places of my body. As I understood Bessel van der Kolk's the Body Keeps the Score.
Speaker 1:Deepak Chopra's conversations about how yoga literally creates longer, healthier lifespan. And I kept getting or staying sick in the Western medicine experience. I kept saying to myself I know I'm missing a piece. I know I'm missing a piece. Well, I think most of us are missing a piece because when we hear the word quantum, we think physics, we think Star Wars or Star Trek or whatever right, and we think that has nothing to do with our day-to-day life. But I'm here to tell you it has everything to do to our day-to-day life.
Speaker 1:And when Deepak Chopra wrote this book this is his newest book, quantum Body he was attempting to tackle the same thing that I often, when I show up to the mic, struggle with, which is how do I explain to you that your reality and the way that you perceive it is so much more that you have a physical body and you have a quantum body and you keep relying on your perception in your physical body and ignoring your quantum body's power. Well, deepak Chopra you know, who is a medical doctor and a meditation expert and all of these things was grappling with the same struggle. And so he says I'm going to read you a handful of things today from him, right? But he says the revolution is quantum, right? What do we mean by revolution? The healing revolution, right? What will bring around massive change in our lifetime, right, and in future lifetimes will come from a understanding of the quantum field. The revolution is quantum, and being on the front lines of that still requires adventurous thinking, which I have in spades love. The quantum world is alien and strange. Its connection to the human body baffles people. It would be almost impossible to find someone qualified to write about medicine and quantum reality, but Deepak writes. By great good fortune, I found two scientists with exactly those qualifications Jack Tuszynski is a physics professor and Brian Fertig is a medical school professor, and together they have a wealth of insights into a new and exciting field that is quantum biology. And so this is how Deepak sort of tried to tackle explaining to us, as lay people who don't study quantum physics or mechanics, how to heal ourselves from this level. And so I want you to think about what I mentioned a moment ago, which is you have a physical body and it has senses, right Things that you can see, hear, taste, touch and smell, and then you have a quantum body, and maybe that quantum body is your soul, but it is a physical reality, it is blurry, it interacts with your physical body and it interacts with the world around, and all of those things have a vibrational state and a vibrational quality to them, and it may be high vibe and it may be low vibe.
Speaker 1:And when we experience symptoms. So we could talk about divorce as a symptom. We could talk about divorce as a symptom. We could talk about grief as a symptom. We could talk about resentment, scarcity, anxiety, panic, depression all of these things as symptoms. We could also talk about your chronic BV or your chronic UTI, or your chronic skin problems, your chronic inflammation, your chronic constipation and diarrhea. These are all things that originate your body and you and your symptoms originate at a quantum level, and because so many things that we experience in life have been energetically inherited from generations before. We love talking about genetic generational inheritance these days, but so much of that inheritance originated at a quantum level. And so when you have symptoms, all those things I listed before means that there is an imbalance at the quantum level.
Speaker 1:And what we understand when we read this book with this medical professor and this quantum physicist that a prescription medication will suppress, but it will not create flow or alignment in the quantum field. And so while sometimes, when we have traumas, we need certain rescue medicines, right like, if I break my leg, I need a medical doctor to set it. I may need an antibiotic, for an infection I may I don't know if I have a gunshot wound, I'm going to need somebody to surgically repair that. My husband needed twin hips. He's got two hip replacements, but why did all those things happen in the first place? Why did the gunshot wound happen? Why did my husband need two hips? Why were his bones decaying faster than an 80-year-old man? And it's because at its point of origin there was some distortion in the quantum field, some negative charge in the quantum field.
Speaker 1:And so you hear me talk about law of attraction. It is so popular to talk about manifesting. Fun fact, manifesting happens at the quantum level of. The two concepts intersect with the idea that when I think a thought, it becomes matter at a quantum level, that when I think a thought or I have an intention or I hold a belief, that those thoughts and beliefs and emotions can turn into things. And it's not magic, it's not fairy dust, it's the quantum field responding to your intention in your body. But when things do not manifest, things that you intend, things that you want, things that you believe, things that you're focused on, when they do not manifest, it is because there is some imbalance or block at the quantum level. That then is manifested in your physical body, right? So anywhere we have symptoms, especially love, chronic symptoms it originates in the quantum field.
Speaker 1:And the reason I am obsessed with the law of attraction, with homeopathy, with Kate Mayer's episode with me on quantum healing, with EFT, tapping and EMDR, is because all of these tools have the capacity to create flow at the quantum level, some faster than others, some more thoroughly than others. Yoga when I taught you about vagal breathing, I got that from a quantum body practice. Vagal breathing is when your exhale is longer than your inhale. I've been teaching you a lot of quantum tools all along the way, but I have not stopped and paused to explain to you that you have a quantum body. And maybe it's because I have been intimidated to tell you that because I had some dark energy at the quantum level that said that if I tell you this, you are going to think I'm crazy or you're not going to relate to it, or you're not going to understand it and you're going to reject me. So we could see this episode as my own progression of creating flow in my own quantum field, because the clearer and clearer I get, that I can have whatever I want, that I can be a flowing source of giving and receiving, love and abundance and whatever it is that is magical in this world. I know that that same thing is true for you and I become lit up, wanting to explain it to you and provide you a path to that same awareness.
Speaker 1:Now, if you study law of attraction and if you listen to Esther Hicks at all, she will tell you all the time that too often you struggle with these things because A you focus way too much on what is rather than what could be right. You're too focused on. But, dawn, you say I can have whatever I want, but I do not have money in the bank, and I promise you I intend to have money in the bank. I do not have the love of my life. All I have is this you know, pos, who keeps treating me and my kids like crap, I'm here to tell you, love, that you can shift all of those things so, so dramatically, but you can't do it with the old ways, right?
Speaker 1:There has to be this adventurous thinking that Deepak talks about where you start to get really, really curious, ps. I just saved an Instagram reel last night that talked about how curiosity is one of the highest vibe states there is. You get a dopamine hit from curiosity, right, and very, very often we walk around acting as though we know, right, I know, I know, I know, I already know, and you're not going to convince me otherwise and so that's blocking the dopamine of curiosity. So we have to get curious about aren't you curious about, why everybody's so angry, about why some people heal more easily than others, why certain people get outcomes and certain people don't? Aren't you curious, love? And so we got to get really, really curious about what could be going on in your quantum body and how can we shift that. And it doesn't have to be wildly expensive and it doesn't have to be difficult.
Speaker 1:I'm reading this book from this quantum healer who has this process and, trust you me, I will be implementing all of it and talking to you about all of it where he started, as an EMDR therapist. But a lot of times EMDR can be very, very painful because it's an experiential treatment, right when you have to re-experience the trauma in an embodied state and it's like you know, it's painful. But he has a process, a quantum process, where he teaches the subconscious to not have to feel that pain during the EMDR processing. Fricking fascinating when you know how to move energy love, when you understand that the same meridians that get used in acupuncture are the meridians we use in EFT tapping, are the same systems that we tap into when I'm selecting a homeopathic remedy or we're doing EMDR. It's all connected and it all rests on the notion that our bodies were designed to heal themselves.
Speaker 1:But we have free will and so where the physical body and where the quantum body intersects, one of the most significant things to keep track of is you have free will. No one is going to rescue you, but you. There are many guides, right, there are many people who can guide you, but you have to be the one to choose healing, to choose creation or choose destruction. Right, let's just make it that binary and we are the sum total of that collection of choices. So you know, producer Joy and I were having this chitty chat earlier today where I said it's like I can walk around this planet now and very often just kind of understand what people are struggling with from having studied all of this and practiced it for so long.
Speaker 1:But when I walk around and I see people with heavy bags under their eyes or I see them really struggling with weight, or I see them having skin issues or talking about their massive health concerns or how angry they are, I just understand that the sum total of their thoughts and choices are leaning towards the negative and not towards the positive. That the more negative emotion you experience means that the sum total of your thoughts, your beliefs and your practices and your choices, day in and day out, are more negative than they are positive. And that you probably haven't come to understand that you have a physical body and a quantum body and that what you think is in fact what becomes Now many of it, much of what you've experienced has sort of piled on to what you inherited, right? I know that I was conceived and born into two bloodlines that were massively traumatized, and so I know I came out of you know kind of that traumatic heritage and embodied that for a good portion of my life. But I also know that once I started to learn what was possible that I just took that and ran with it. I took responsibility for it. I said this was not my fault, but it is my responsibility, and then became very, very accountable for any time I had a negative thought, understanding that I could give myself grace for having that negative thought, but that didn't mean give myself a pass for having that negative thought. And so love.
Speaker 1:This is your invitation to consider reading Deepak's book Quantum Body, but maybe just to sit with and consider that the things we talk about on this podcast are bigger than the things that you're going to hear on any other divorce podcast probably. I don't know that for sure, but I think that on this podcast we talk about the most impactful forms of healing that could ever possibly exist and that is at a quantum level, and you support your children in healing at a quantum level, then the generations that spring forth from you and from your children will be forever changed. And I just can't think of anything more intoxicating or more exciting than understanding that all of the pain that you are feeling right now has a very clear set of solutions and that you do not have to suffer.
