Welcome to Blue Genes and Boots everyone!


In this episode, Serina and Madison host Apoorva Mandavilli, a reporter for the New York Times who covered much of their discussion on the coronavirus pandemic.


Apoorva is a decorated journalist and freelance writer, winning the 2019 Victor Cohn Prize for Medical Science Reporting, and has work featured in popular news outlets like The Atlantic, Nature, The New Yorker online, and in the anthology ”Best American Science and Nature Writing.” In addition to her passion for medical science journalism, Apoorva strives to enhance diversity in science journalism through her co-founded organization Culture Dish and role as the founding chair of the Diversity Committee for the National Association of Science Writers.
