“We are constantly looking outside ourselves for solutions but solutions to what?   Even the phrase “outside the box” indicates that what we need has nothing to do with us. One of my quotes, that I don’t articulate often:  “if you are supposedly operating ” outside the box” you better have a box to operate out of.” We spend a great deal of time hypothecating instead of exploring. Most ideas, concepts, possible value-adds ultimately need to be grounded in a way that can be used and leveraged to construct the next value propositions.  Got to do something with it!

We hypothesize because we are looking for solutions instead of finding out what happened or what is happening.  We also look at a situation or even a challenge from “what’s wrong”, not “what’s right.” I have rarely turned around a business by fixing what’s wrong, even though some things need to be fixed.  By focusing on what is right, we open doors for all to be more successful.

The best way to create value consistently is to pay attention to what is happening successfully and leverage that into new, more productive ways for all to achieve.”

On this episode of Always Creating Value™ Podcast Airdate: Jan. 12, 2022 we are excited to have a conversation with Lon Safko

Lon Safko is a serial innovator, inventor, bestselling author, speaker, trainer, consultant. He has been on the ground floor and cutting edge of the IT and Computer Industries for over 25 years.

He is the creator of the “First Computer to Save a Human Life” — as coined by Steve Jobs, Apple, Inc. That computer, along with 18 of Lon’s inventions, are part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C., along with 30,000 of Lon‘s professional papers. Lon also has 14 inventions in the collection of The Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA.

Lon is also a renowned international advisor, teaching the world’s largest companies concepts to harness power of innovative thinking, social media, digital communications strategies — creating higher productivity and profits.

He has two most recent bestsellers. The Innovative Thinking Bible, Cracking the Creativity Code” is 300 full-color pages of innovative techniques and ideas with more than 200 innovative quotes and 40 brain training exercises.  That book and his A.I. Chatbots, Unexpected Positive Consequences” both hit #1 on Amazon.

Lon’s ability to harness technology (that works both for business and personal worlds) with us humans in mind is immense. Today where AI, the Cloud and technology are everywhere we look, Lon is working to help people to relate to it in a way that we can be part of it, not distanced from it. I am looking forward to learning more about how his constantly creative approach has helped him in the past and for the future. Lon will give us tips on how we can all relate better to what is going on for us as well as technology that’s creating the path forward.
