#94 - Why Marriage Isn't The Key to a Happy and Fulfilling Life
Apr 20, 2023

Marriage is seen as the ultimate expression of love, the biggest commitment you can make to another and the desire and hope that it will last forever. As someone that's been married and divorced in their 20s, and experienced my own parents getting divorced as a child, marriage has been an interesting subject to explore, and the more I've explored and experienced, the more I've felt it necessary to share some of the realities of what marriage means in today's day and age.

From personal experience, to looking at the stats, marriage needs to be a well-informed decision as opposed to the assumed trajectory of life. It doesn't guarantee you happiness, and it isn't always the answer to a fulfilling life, and it certainly isn't the only way to be happy and at ease with your life. Listen in to hear about the perspectives on marriage to consider for if and when the questions comes.

Whilst every effort has been made to represent accurate information, you should always consult a professional in each context. Each case/individual is individual and therefore, specific information should be sought, particualrly so solicitors for legal matters concerning marriage and divorce, and refer to your individual pension providers for the conditions surrounding your pension.

*Correction: I mentioned that the Teachers Pension wouldn't go to anyone unmarried, however there are some conditions detailed that would allow for this to happen. Please see this link for futher info.
