Exploring The Roots Of Homelessness and Introducing Our Whole Person Model

Water Street Mission

What can lead people to be on the street varies from person to person.

It can be as personal as a lack of relational equity or encountering a major health event, or it could be more systemic, such as the inability to find affordable housing or clear an eviction record.

In this episode, we'll explore those roots and others, and uncover how they lead someone to be on the street. We'll also introduce you to our Whole Person Model, which aims to give those facing poverty and homelessness individualized tools to move out of their current situation and find sustainable restoration. This means not just having the ability to keep a place to live, but the healing of the entire individual, mind, body, and soul, so they can begin to thrive in all areas of life and eventually become a restorer of others.

Rick Rutter, Pastor of Crossroads Mennonite Church in Lancaster City, and Colleen Adams, Water Street's VP of Health Services, join us for the conversation.
