If you are a sports fan or even just a movie fan you undoubtedly know the movie Rudy. It’s the story of a young man who was determined to attend Notre Dame and play on the football team even though he stood a mere five foot six and a hundred and sixty five pounds.

He works tirelessly to earn the respect of his teammates and coaches, and repeatedly gets annihilated in practices, all while family and friends think he is out of his mind to chase such an outrageous dream.

But that perseverance leads him to spending two years on the practice team and getting to be in uniform for his last game where at the very end of the game he gets to play, makes a tackle and is carried off the field by his teammates.

The movie is based on a real story and today we have the man who lived that real story, Daniel Ruettiger, better known as Rudy.

He tells me all about his days at Notre Dame, how he earned his teammates respect and the other story of perseverance in his life which was the ten years he spent trying to get a movie about his life made so people could be inspired.
