I'm excited about today's episode. While I'll be provided my ultimate guide to creating a healthy morning routine. Creating a healthy routine can be challenging at first, but it's an important to understand why it's so essential. According to research, our habits make up 40% of our daily behaviors, which means that the actions we take every day play a significant role in our overall health and well. By creating a routine, we're essentially training our brains to adopt healthy habits, which can lead to long-term positive outcomes. Furthermore, research has shown that a healthy routine can improve our mental health. Studies have found that routine can reduce stress, anxiety, and depression, and even improve sleeve quality. These are all great reasons to get started and establish a healthier routine warning routine. When you follow a consistent routine, you are less likely to experience decision fatigue and can focus on the important aspects of your life. By prioritizing your physical and mental health in the morning, you can set the tone for a productive and positive day ahead. Creating a healthy morning routine doesn't have to be overwhelming. Here are some small ways to start incorporating healthy habits in your morning routine. Starting with number one, determine the time you need to wake up. Determine what time you need to wake up to allow yourself enough time to complete your morning routine without feeling rushed. Keep in mind that the recommended amount of sleep for adults is seven to nine hours per night. Once you know what time you need to wake, Set your alarm accordingly. Wake up at the same time every day. Establishing a consistent wake up time can regulate your body's natural sleep cycle and improve sleep quality. Number two, avoid screen times. Avoid checking your phone or your computer first thing in the morning to reduce stress and allow your mind to ease into the day by avoiding screens in the morning and engaging, calming, nourishing activit. You may find that you feel more centered, focused, and energized throughout the day. Moving on to number three, drink water. Start your day off by drinking a glass of water to hydrate your body and improve digestion. Keep a glass of water by your bedside to make it easier to drink first thing in the morning. Now, this is a practice that I do every night. I put a glass of water on my nightstand, and this serves as a reminder for me to drink water upon waking. Moving on, which is number four. Start with a self-care activity. Incorporating an activity that promotes self-care, such as meditation, journaling, or stretching. You can help set a positive tone for the day. Consider what activities make you feel, relaxed and energized, and set aside some time in your morning routine to engage in them. Moving on to number. Move your body, incorporate some form of physical activity, even if it's just a short walk, to increase energy levels and improve physical health. For me, I have allergies right now. I get on the treadmill and start walking for at least 30 minutes a day. After allergy season, I'm out the door taking a brisk walk and getting my vitamin D. Moving on to number six, fuel your body. Eat a healthy breakfast. That includes protein, fiber, and healthy fats to provide your body with the necessary nutrients to function optimally. Consider options such as oatmeal with nuts and fruit, a vegetable, omlette or maybe a smoothie with spinach. Find recipes that are easy to make and pack with nutrients to support optimal health. Moving on to number seven, practice mindfulness. Incorporate mindfulness in your morning routine, whether it's through meditation or deep breathing to reduce stress and promote mental clarity. And our last step in the guide is to plan your day. Take a few minutes to plan out your day, including your top priorities, your appointments and meetings. This can help reduce stress and improve productivity throughout the day. By starting with small, manageable habits and using the guidance I provided, you can gradually build a healthy morning routine that works for you. Remember, consistency is key. So try to stick to your routine as much as possible. Now that I've shared the steps for building a morning routine, next I'll be sharing some apps that you can use to help you, support your journey. Creating a morning routine is a process, and there are tools available to help make that process easier. Here are some tools that can assist you in creating and sticking to a healthy morning routine. Here's a disclaimer. Some of these apps I use and some of them I don't. However, none of these apps sponsor the podcast. The apps I'm sharing are for informational purposes only. Find the apps that will work to address your needs and your specific preferences, starting with number one in your alarm clock, using that good old fashioned trusty alarm clock. Or you can use the alarm clock on your cell phone. Setting an alarm clock can help ensure that you wake up at the same time every day, allowing you to establish a consistent morning routine as we spoke. Number two, habit tracking apps. There are several apps that can help you track your progress in establishing a morning routine. Now these apps can provide reminders and motivation to help you stay on track. Some examples are habit share, way of life, and streaks. Just a name a few. Number three, meditation apps. Incorporating meditation in your morning routine can be beneficial for your mental health as I. and as I shared with you before, I meditate and I find it very helpful and it helps to set the tone for my day. There are many meditation apps available that can guide you through a meditation session. One app that I use is the com app. There are many options for you with apps with different features, designs, and aesthetics that will work for you. Another tool is number four. Fitness apps, including physical activity in your morning routine, can help improve physical health and energy levels. As I. Fitness apps can help provide workout routines and track your progress. I happen to use the MyFitness PAL app. Moving on to number five, meal planning apps. Planning and preparing a healthy breakfast can be time consuming, but meal planning apps can help simplify that process by providing recipe ideas and grocery list. And last but not least, journaling. Incorporate journaling tools into your morning routine can help promote self-reflection and mental clarity. There are several journaling apps available that can help guide your writing and provide prompts. By utilizing these tools, you can create a morning routine that works for you. Creating a morning routine is an essential step in prioritizing your physical, mental. By incorporating self-care, exercise, healthy habits, you can improve in productivity, mental health, and your overall wellbeing. By starting with small, manageable habits, such as waking up at the same time every day, drinking water, moving your body, eating a balanced breakfast, practicing mindfulness, and avoiding screens, you can gradually build a healthy morning routine that works for you.
