Episode #138: Exploring Epcot's Greenhouse Magic: A Review of the Behind the Seeds Tour
Feb 28, 2024 Episode 138
Circle of Parks

Embark on a journey through Epcot's agricultural wonderland as we recount the marvels of the Behind the Seeds tour with our passionate guide, Abby. She led us through a world where technology and horticulture intertwine to produce the freshest greens and fish for Disney's guests. We discovered the secrets of sustainable farming, from aeroponics to hydroponics, and even got our hands dirty with a taste of cucumbers picked straight from the vine. It's not just about Disney-shaped veggies; it's about the future of farming and how these ingenious methods could help us reach for the stars—literally, with applications in space exploration.

As we wind through the greenhouses, we go behind the scenes of the Living with the Land ride, stepping 'on stage' and into the heart of this ecological masterpiece. Our guide's enthusiasm for her leafy charges is infectious, making even the most mundane details, like sand depth and cooling methods, utterly captivating. Feeding fish might not seem like a highlight, but when it's in Disney's innovative fish farm, it's another story. And who could forget the chance to interact with the responsive Stanley's leaves? From our surprise at the affordability of this tour to the seasonal transformations, we peeled back the layers of Epcot's green haven, leaving us eager to return for more.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Circular Parks podcast episode number 138. This week we are discussing the behind the seeds tour, so we're giving our review. There is far too much to see and do. We are here to help guide you through. But before we do that we must talk Disney merch. So now, if you go to Disney Storecom, which was Shop Disney, you can find a new line of Disney Princess anime pullovers. You have Tiana and it's kind of like a greenish pullover sweatshirt, you have Snow White with a light blue and you have Ariel with a lighter pink color. They are all priced at $47.99 and again you can find that at Disney Storecom. And that is this week's Disney merch. But I also want to cover that we have Disney merch as well, or our own merch.

Speaker 1:

Not Disney merch, sorry, messed up there.

Speaker 2:

Not Disney merch no.

Speaker 1:

So we have stickers, coffee mugs, sweatshirts, t-shirts and more. So if you go to our website CircularParkscom, click on merch, it'll take you directly to T-Public and you can look at it from there.

Speaker 2:

If we had Disney merch, that would be illegal.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I know, so you might need to edit that out. That's okay.

Speaker 2:

Thank you everybody for joining us. Episode number 138. We're finally back. I feel way better than I sound.

Speaker 1:

Yes, he's actually looking lively today.

Speaker 2:

This is the best I've felt in about a week and a half that flew. When they say seven to ten days, this is like day nine.

Speaker 1:

Eight or nine, they're not lying, yeah.

Speaker 2:

It's me and Ryan got it really bad.

Speaker 1:

Yes, I feel indid too, but he was able to sleep his off a little more for a week. But yeah, hit you and Ryan hard Again.

Speaker 2:

I'm feeling much better than I sound. It's just I've been coughing so much that it just hurts your vocal cords. Yes, so you can't talk as much. So Brittany is going to be doing most of the talking on this. I am going to add some commentary, but I just want to say it's great to be back. Thank you so much for understanding. Last week, when we had to repost an episode, there was no way I was going to be able to record. If I sounded like this, that was, I would have been fine, but I didn't get out of bed for like three days.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, he was really out of it. Fever and just, you name it, body aches, it just it was rough, but I'm glad to be back.

Speaker 2:

Unfortunately, I'm going to have to cancel my Disney trip this week. I was going to go if you're listening to this when it comes out. I was going to go to Mauro and do book research, but with me getting over this and just not having the strength that I need, I think being in the park and gone for 12 hours and being on planes is probably the best idea.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean because travel in general can tire you out, and then you're just now getting, like you said, your strength back. I think it, it would. It would push you and you'd be worn out again the next day.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so I'm going to go again in May, which gives me plenty of time to write more. I'm currently writing on adventure land and I was going to do research on frontier land, but I think this will give me plenty more time to to get more of adventure land done. But we're talking about behind the seeds and I absolutely just loved this tour. Brittany, why don't you go ahead and tell us what Disney talks about it?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, well, in just a second, I was going to say I definitely enjoyed it more than I thought as well, and so you're going to hear why. So Disney? Here's what Disney says about the behind the seeds tour explore the future of agriculture. During this close up in personal package walking tour of the land pavilion in Epcot and we definitely got to see some areas that I I didn't realize we were going to see, and it really did bring attention to a lot more details that I, you, you don't always notice from the, from the boat ride. So see, do you learn? Grow like the living with the land attraction at Epcot.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I do.

Speaker 1:

He has loved it from day one that he wrote yes, it took a little while to grow on me, but I like it too, and you'll love the behind the seeds. This one hour tour of the fish farm in four greenhouses that make up the land pavilion is perfect for anyone with an interest in gardening or natural sciences. On it, you will learn about the hybrid striped bass, tilapia, catfish and freshwater shrimp in our fish farm. Behold gigantic fruits and vegetables and unusual crops from around the world, and discover the latest plant growing techniques, including hydroponics. Look, ma no soil. Did you want to add any comments here?

Speaker 2:

When we get to the breakthrough okay.

Speaker 1:

So you may be wondering how to book this. Well, advanced reservations are highly recommended as availability is limited. Make reservations online or via the my Disney experience app. Same day reservations in walk ins can be made on a limited basis in our subject to availability. But do you know who also can make reservations for this?

Speaker 2:

The awesome agents at Main Street Travel Company. They are the official sponsors podcast and we use them for all of our Disney and non Disney vacation needs. They can plan your Walt Disney World, disneyland Disney cruise line Adventures by Disney Alana and Disneyland Paris vacations and, exclusively for Circular Park listeners, if you book your next Disney cruise line with them, you will get up to $1000 on board credit. If you book your next adventures by Disney, they will get you will get up to $1000 cashback and if you booked your next Walt Disney World vacation with Main Street Travel Company, they will give you a gift card based on the value of that vacation. Also, if you use our travel planner, travel Planner Erica, she's going to throw this one $20 gift card on top of the one that Main Street Travel Company is giving you. So they're not only going to plan your vacation for free, they're going to save you money.

Speaker 2:

You can go check them out wwwmainstreettravelcocom. They're on Instagram, facebook and YouTube all at Main Street Travel and my favorite thing about them, I talk about it every single week. You can call them 1-800-593-1262, monday through Friday, 10 am 5 pm, central Time. Again, these are not part-time side job agents that are gonna get to you when they can. This is what they do full-time.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and they're great, and we've used Erica for several trips now and she was the one that did our reservation for the Behind the Seeds Tour and they're on it. They hear when there's special offers. I think there's some new news that has come out with that as well. So they're well aware and work with you on how to save you money, what your family is looking to do, what each family member enjoys, just to help you plan that trip.

Speaker 2:

And congratulations to Erica. She just completed the Princess Marathon weekend there.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes, so congrats Half the 10K and the 5K. Congratulations, yes, congratulations. Looked fun, looked great.

Speaker 2:

I wouldn't do it, but Nothing about that looks fun. Nothing, no, it does not.

Speaker 1:

No, but like the outfits and where you get to run and how to get the pictures in front of the castle and all that. None of that looks fun.

Speaker 2:

I've seen the Run Disney event videos. I do enjoy running and I used to be a competitive runner. None of that looks appeasing to me whatsoever. None of it, but congratulations, erica.

Speaker 1:

Yes, congrats, all right. So back to you behind the scenes. So you need to know these things before you go, know before you go. View important information, including attire, tour content and cancellation policies. Theme Park admission is required, but not included in the price of this tour. Theme Park reservations are also required if you need one.

Speaker 2:

So pricing for this is between $39 and $45 per adult.

Speaker 1:

Okay, just depending on the day I have to go back.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it's down here Between $39 and $45 per person. I think we paid 40 with the annual past discount that I have.

Speaker 1:

Okay.

Speaker 2:

So this is the cheapest tour you can get on property.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I mean, for the price it's not bad and you get to see a lot. Now, it does mention you'll be on your feet for the whole hour of this walking tour, so, with that in mind, make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Now you do have a few minutes, or at least on the tour we experienced, where there is like a bench to sit on, but you are pretty much on your feet the whole time, other than that?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, we did get about a five minute sit down if you wanted to break.

Speaker 1:

Yes. So again, comfortable shoes. Riding, living with the land prior to the tour will give you a preview of what to expect, so I even think that that's how you should do it, as well, I would recommend that.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I recommend riding, living with the land anytime, but especially before we did it, right before our tour.

Speaker 1:

Yes, because it just helps it all go hand in hand and a better understanding. So please be aware that the tour highlights listed above are subject to change, so you know in the plants and everything can change as well. So please check in 15 minutes prior to the start of your tour at the lower level of the land pavilion near the attraction exit. So when you're exiting the ride you will see like a little kiosk setup and that is where your check in is it's immediately on the right hand side as you go through the little exit gate there.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and so it's kind of between, like the exits of living with the land and soaring.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's a very highly congested area of people.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes, so there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. Full price will be charged or forfeited if the guests cancels within one day or fails to show up for the reservation. Guests must be at least three years of age to participate in the tour. Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a paying adult cost, again between 39 to $45 per person.

Speaker 2:

So I would not like. If you have to bring your kids on this tour, that's fine, but this might almost be more enjoyable if say you do like.

Speaker 1:

Quote unquote writer split on this Like writer swap.

Speaker 2:

Writer swap and one person goes at one time and the other person goes at a different time and the other person keeps up with the kid.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

I think, because you do have to pay attention on this tour. So if one person is distracted with the child, I don't think you would enjoy this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't think you would take away as much from it, because you're learning a lot, they're talking a lot, telling you about a lot of things, different things you get to experience and we're gonna go more into detail with, like, the headsets you have to wear and everything too.

Speaker 2:

So I don't think a child is gonna like this tour at all, and then if you're whichever one of you is keeping up with the kid, then they're not gonna enjoy it either, because they're paying attention to the kid, trying to keep the kid from distracting other guests doing the tour. So I would almost do like a rider swap and make a reservation for one adult to do it at this time and like the next adult do it like the next hour tour, Because I think we were in a group of what 15? Yeah.

Speaker 1:

And there were not any children. So you know, and we were. I mean, we have kids, so we understand but we were able to really hear and take away more information from it, because I think, even if our own boys are a little bit older now, but I think they would have distracted us, or me anyway, from being able to hear everything.

Speaker 2:

So keep in mind, if you can, if you have smaller kids and this is a must do for you I would look at taking the tour separately and one person keeping up with the kids while the other one is on the tour and then swapping out. I think you would enjoy this much better. Just my thought.

Speaker 1:

No, I would agree, and there's a lot of things you could do without long wait times that are close by.

Speaker 2:

Like living with the land.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, living with the land, but I mean for a full hour I'm just thinking so like living the land. Go out, walk over, ride the seas with Nemo and friends and look at the aquarium.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, there's plenty of stuff to do for the kids in the dream.

Speaker 1:

Go through the Moana attraction maybe, so yeah, Again, just a thought.

Speaker 2:

If you have kids and you wanna do this, you might not wanna think about doing it together with the kids.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, so if you can separate, but definitely we enjoyed the tour. So the tour before the tour you will get a lanyard showing that you are part of the Behind the Seeds tour.

Speaker 2:

I felt like remember on what was the name of that movie with Garth and Wayne, where they were behind the scenes and they were given like the passes.

Speaker 1:

I know I've seen it with you, but I don't remember it.

Speaker 2:

But it feels like that with Garth and Wayne, when they're like showing the Behind the Seeds or the backstage passes, they're like showing everybody. That's what I felt like when I was walking through the exit to Soren, with that Like, hey, I'm with them, yeah, I'm allowed back here. I'm allowed back here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. So yeah, it's a lanyard again, just to make sure you are where you need to be. The tour will start promptly, on time, which it did for us.

Speaker 2:

Promptly on time.

Speaker 1:

Yes, so that recommended getting there and checking in 15 minutes before and just kind of hanging out. Definitely do, because I mean we were right. What was it? 1130?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was right. I mean right at 1130.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, 1130,. They were like okay, guys, follow me so promptly. On time, you'll walk through the exit queue of Soren to a backstage room. Next, we entered the Integrated Pest Management Lab. This is where we learned how Epcot is managing pest within the greenhouses. This is where we also got our earpieces so we could hear our tour guide Abby, when we went to the greenhouses.

Speaker 2:

So this was really cool. This is showing us how they use pest management to keep other pests off the leaves in the greenhouse. I thought this was really really cool. Yeah, and how they went about it and what they used and everything, and I loved how this room is right when you're going to that end tunnel with that really tripping music before you get off living with the land.

Speaker 1:

Oh.

Speaker 2:

You're literally right there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah and so yeah. So I mean just from the get go, it was very interesting In the earpieces. They're very easy, they're comfortable, they're you know, they just kind of they're comfortable. Well, they didn't bother me.

Speaker 2:

It was uncomfortable for me. Oh, I'm sorry it is. You know, I had to adjust mine quite a bit. Their one size fits all, which means they don't fit anybody. That's what our I forgot.

Speaker 1:

Abby said yeah, I mean, mine was fine, it was still nice.

Speaker 2:

I mean, it was still good, like I still had to. I didn't mess with it because it was making my ears sore. Oh, okay, but it's, it's fine. Well, sorry.

Speaker 1:

For me. Usually I don't like I could still hear here.

Speaker 2:

just fine, so it was fine.

Speaker 1:

Usually I don't like ear things too much other than earrings, but it was. It was fine for me, but you will need it because inside some of those greenhouses it does get loud.

Speaker 2:

It is very loud.

Speaker 1:

From here we entered the Creative Greenhouse in our tour. Guide. Abby explained aeroponics here, where they grow plants without soil. They are sprayed with a mist of water and nutrients in the roots dangle. This is also where you'll see the hydroponic growing which were developed to sustain lengthy stays in space for NASA.

Speaker 2:

That's where you see the plants and the fish tank and everything.

Speaker 1:

Like you, know takes care of everything.

Speaker 2:

I liked the aeroponics, because you see that on the attraction and I know they explained it on the attraction, but when there's like a physical person taking time to explain it to you, it makes a huge difference.

Speaker 1:

It does. There's more to it than what you really think, and you just have a better understanding.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it was. It was very nice yeah.

Speaker 1:

And Abby was great at explaining everything. Abby was amazing.

Speaker 2:

So for the research I did on this, not only just from our trip, but I looked at several other videos and several other reviews. Abby has been a mainstay here for a long time. It looks like Okay and you could tell on the on the on the tour she did an amazing job, but I went back to so like 2015, 2016, 2017, abby's been there a long time, oh wow. She, and she did a great job.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, she wow. That's a surprise, she looks very young, but yeah, she did a great job.

Speaker 2:

She did an amazing job.

Speaker 1:

For sure you can tell she's very passionate about it, definitely.

Speaker 1:

The next greenhouse we went in was the String Greenhouse. This greenhouse focuses on high density techniques and vertical growing techniques. This is where we tried cucumbers and they showed us the mold of, like the Mickey molds and how they make Mickey shaped vegetables. This is where most of the produce is grown in use around the parks. So, yes, the cucumbers. So they pick them when they are actually ripe, when they are ready to eat, is what Abby said. The ones you get from the grocery stores aren't picked at the right time, so they.

Speaker 1:

There is a difference in taste. She even mentioned like, if you remember, from several years ago when cucumber melon was a favorite scent at like Bath and Body Works and stuff how if you smelled this cucumber, it would probably take you back to that and it did a little bit. So the flavor was a little stronger and different. You could tell it was fresh, you could tell it was ripe. The color was even prettier than the norm. So they had already had these cut up and in bags and you know, everybody got to sample one and so that was something I didn't know we were going to get to do. And then, yeah, it was really cool to see the Mickey mold that they used to shape the vegetables.

Speaker 2:

What I thought was really cool here was the the vertical growing techniques, how they would have the pergolas up there.

Speaker 1:

Oh yes.

Speaker 2:

And then they would have so many vegetables hanging down below, and then all of those vegetables would come from one or maybe two vines, actually from the ground. I was amazed at how many like how few of vines it took to grow all of that. That's what I thought was very interesting out of that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, for sure, and it looked very pretty too the way they had it done, and I forgot how often she said they changed them out.

Speaker 2:

I can't remember, but I just thought. I was like oh man, there must be a lot of vines producing that much. No it was like one, maybe two, I think two yeah. And I thought that was very impressive.

Speaker 1:

Now I agree.

Speaker 2:

It just spreads out on the pergola, and then you know.

Speaker 1:

Looks like several yes. Yeah, so yes, it was great to experience that actually try something that they grow there, and then over 30 tons of produce is harvested from here each year. It only equates to 1% of Disney's annual produce used each year, though.

Speaker 2:

That's insane. 1%.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but you gotta think how much is being eaten and everything too but and made. So walking through the aqua cell or fish farm was great. We even got to feed the tilapia and learn some cool facts about the size of tanks in that tilapia or schooling fish.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I thought that was really cool that the tilapia they do better together but there's only a certain amount of. They can only have a certain amount of fish in the size of the tank and then only get as big as the tank will allow them to get, and that the feed was a special blend just for them. Now, most of the fish that you get at like the seas and on, and that does probably come from here, from the place you get to the tilapia, will come from here.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, I mean there were a lot of tilapia. It was fun getting to feed them, like I didn't know that we were gonna get to do that on the tour as well. You know, they do warn you a little bit of a splash zone because they're all going for the food right when you throw it in, because they do a countdown for you to throw it in at the same time.

Speaker 2:

And they know too.

Speaker 1:

Yes, they were ready.

Speaker 2:

What I thought was cool was I got to see the hidden Mickey hose from behind.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, I forgot about that.

Speaker 2:

Instead of from the boat.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, and it's there. It is there, so, yeah. So we got to take our picture with the Mickey shaped tree as well in the tropics greenhouse, which. I need a copy of that picture. I haven't even seen it, it's on your phone.

Speaker 2:

Well, maybe if all of us didn't get the flu right when we got back, I would have all of this stuff. I know I know, like I didn't like, this knocked me like I couldn't do anything.

Speaker 1:

Well, and he was the last one to get sick too, so he went from having to help and take care of everyone to oh, here we go.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so trust me, I will get through all that, I promise yes.

Speaker 1:

So yeah, so that was great to you know, just seeing that and being on that side of it, because I always thought that the Mickey shaped tree was always so pretty. And then the tour concluded with walking back through all the greenhouses and back to where we started. We did get to touch one plant named Stanley. When you touch Stanley's leaves they curl up as a defense and it really, truly does.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I thought that was pretty cool yeah yeah, you just kind of tap it.

Speaker 1:

but enough to where it senses it and yeah, I mean it immediately curls up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

So what did you think about the tour, or what did you think was cool about the tour?

Speaker 2:

So ah ah, ah, ah, ah, Sorry guys, Sorry, I thought first of all being able to see the boats from the other side.

Speaker 1:

While people were on it. While people were on it, yeah.

Speaker 2:

To me was the coolest thing.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

I thought that was just. I have so many videos of not just the plants but just the boats going by and like, hey, this is what you look like on the boat.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

I thought that was so cool.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, for me it was like, because I think there's only been one time when I've been on the ride where I've seen people and at the time I didn't know that it was a tour.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

You know and I'm like, how are those people over?

Speaker 2:

there, I remember we were like how did they get to do that, like how cool would it be to get to do that?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I was thinking, oh, you know like it must have been like a hefty price, Like you know, Nope 40 bucks. Yeah, I thought it was one of those like in the hundreds, like I didn't know, I didn't know anything about it, so but usually, I mean, you know they do these tours pretty much every hour, so but I just remember seeing it one time and it's probably just the timing.

Speaker 2:

I also thought it was really, really cool how, in the greenhouses in Florida, they have the opposite problem of what most other greenhouses have. They have to keep them cool instead of keeping them warm. Right, so to keep them cool, what they do is they take cardboard and they pass water through it and they blow the air through the cardboard in the back of the. That's why it was so loud in there.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

I thought that was really really cool and very basic, I guess, if you wanna say, yeah, how they did that.

Speaker 1:

When she said I mean, when she said it it was like, oh yeah, that is cardboard. But yeah, you wouldn't have thought that that would do the job.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I thought that was really cool and I just like sorry, I just liked that we were backstage, but then we weren't backstage either because we were on stage for most of the tour. Yeah, because you're still on that. Also, I thought that what else is really really cool was the sand. It gets really really deep the closer it gets to the ride.

Speaker 1:

Oh yes.

Speaker 2:

Because it starts out like we didn't they inform you. Do not touch the sand, because it's got a lot of you know they're very strict about that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they only touch or walk past certain areas. You know the walkways are marked clearly enough where you know you can't go past it.

Speaker 2:

Right, but it starts out like six inches deep and by the time it gets to where the boat portion is, it's like five feet deep.

Speaker 1:

Mm. Okay, I didn't realize that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, like it is very deep and it's got, you know, all the irrigation and stuff in there Well, yeah, that makes sense I didn't realize how deep it was down there.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, and I guess I kind of looked at it, but I didn't look at it that closely- you know, abby said that. Well, maybe it was while I was distracted, like watching the boats go by or something, because I did truly listen to everything she said, but I know.

Speaker 2:

Well, apparently not that Well I know.

Speaker 1:

but what I was saying is you know when the boats would go by? I kind of be like hey, yeah what did you think was cool?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean like being on the other side of the ride, like I said. I just remember one time you know like, oh, how'd they get back there? So now we were back there and you know just what all goes into, as we were saying earlier, the aeroponics and hydroponics and you know they do change out what's growing from time to time too. So learning about that, just the passion Abby had for it really made it enjoyable. You know it wasn't someone just like rattling off facts. You know she really was passionate, like we were saying earlier, and I enjoyed being able to feed the fish in the cucumber.

Speaker 2:

I thought that was cool, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. So and then, favorite part, just that goat, you know kind of with. What I thought was cool is, you know, feeding the fish, eating the cucumber, getting our picture with the Mickey shaped plant, and I honestly liked at the very end how we got to touch Stanley's leaves and how they curled up.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and they encourage pictures and videos. This isn't a behind the scenes or backstage video tour where they discourage video, Cause even when you are backstage you're just looking at greenhouse stuff. There's nothing like magical back there.

Speaker 1:

Right, or you know. Yeah, Now there was. What was that formula for? I can't remember now. Oh, their nutrient formula. Yeah, and they were even like I have a video of it.

Speaker 2:

They then they share that with you too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, that's what I was saying. Yeah, they even encourage you to take a picture of that as well, like they're, like it's not a secret, take a picture?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, no, I've got it. I can share that too.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so what so does that go? Have you already answered like what your favorite part of the tour was?

Speaker 2:

All of it.

Speaker 1:

Well, I've kind of already said you know the fish, the cucumber, getting our pictures, and overall, what did I think of the tour. I really liked it. I don't think I would do it like every time, but I would do it again, like maybe every couple of years, see if things have changed or the plants, the crops have changed and stuff.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I think this is every every couple of year thing, it's not an every trip thing that I've got, but, yeah, definitely every couple of years, cause it is going to change and see what's different. You know what would be a to go again during Christmas time.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

This is when you would want to go do it again. Yeah, because they haven't decorated more, especially at night.

Speaker 1:

Oh man, yeah, do the. Do you remember how late the times go?

Speaker 2:

I think during Christmas time it gets dark enough. Early, early enough that you, I don't know double. Don't quote me on that, though.

Speaker 1:

But you should be able to experience at least one, at least some of it, with the lights on.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, Okay, I would definitely recommend this to anybody If you're interested, even if you just love living with land. I could care less about greenhouses and and I'm just not into that stuff, but the fact that I love living with the land so much made me love this tour so much.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

Like I'm not reading books on greenhouses and growing vegetables and stuff, but I find all of that stuff very interesting.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and you know I mean like I enjoy playing flowers and things like that, but I'm not big on growing my own fruits and vegetables. But it was entertaining. In. You know, when I was younger several years ago I did take a class that happened to involve, you know, greenhouses, and so it kind of took me back to that time a little bit, but obviously much more advanced techniques in how to grow things. Now.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I would definitely recommend this to, just if you like living with the land. You're gonna love this. There's just no other way to put it. You're going to love this.

Speaker 1:

And if you're like an ag science type person as well, or you just love plants and things, or if you have kids that love this stuff, this is.

Speaker 2:

you can't again goes back. You can take kids on this tour, but just I would be Keep in mind that it's very educational.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and they need to. They do need to be quiet so everybody can hear what the guide is saying.

Speaker 2:

Yes, you don't want to ruin the tour for somebody else, Right? So just keep that in mind. But if they're into this stuff which I know a lot of kids are, then they would really like this tour. Would our kids like it? Probably not.

Speaker 1:

But like, as you get even a little bit older, like in high school and so forth, if you get involved with those agriscience programs and things then this would be for you.

Speaker 2:

They would really enjoy it. Yes.

Speaker 1:

So yes, I think it was a great tour and would definitely do it again, especially for the money, the price of it, yeah yeah, because again, when I'd seen other people on it before, I'm thinking oh gosh, this is some special VIP thing, you know, but nope, anyone can do it.

Speaker 2:

No, All right. So it brings us to Disney trivia. This was from two weeks ago so I apologize, I did not get one out last week. But what are the five distinct laboratories in living with the land? And the answer is the tropics greenhouse, aqua cell, temperate greenhouse, the string greenhouse formerly the production greenhouse and the creative greenhouse. And this week's winner is from X Sweeney. Yay, congrats. Congratulations. Still on top there. And so for next week, we're talking about Boma. We're finally doing our Boma restaurant review. Yes, so for trivia, since I was gonna be there Thursday, I was gonna do it live outside of Boma, but unfortunately I'm not going to be there.
