Speaker 2:

Welcome. This is Circular Parks Podcast and we are live from Disney Vero Beach Resort. This episode is going to be a little different. We're live again and just wanted to give our first impressions of how our trip is going.

Speaker 1:

This place is horrible. He's kidding Don't come here. He's kidding You're going to have the worst time ever. No, you're going to have a blast. Don't come here.

Speaker 2:

Don't come. You're not're gonna have the worst time ever.

Speaker 1:

No, don't have a blast, don't.

Speaker 2:

Don't come here, don't come you're not gonna have a good time. If you know, zach, he tries to deter people places he loves okay, so this place is just a hidden gem?

Speaker 1:

yes, it is going to a deluxe resort with the beach. Yes, not the chaos of the parks.

Speaker 2:

Right, not the crowds.

Speaker 1:

Or the thousands of people. Vero Beach we're north of Vero Beach, probably about what? 15 minutes, 10 to 15. On the coast and there's no like there's, it's like a sleepy little, like it's not a touristy beach town.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

It's like private homes on the beach, some condos and then the resort we're at.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

And if this place is fully booked this week, there's hardly. It almost seems like there's nobody here.

Speaker 2:

Right, yeah, like there's tons of room on the beach You're not like on top of other families and the pool. At times it can get a little crowded, but even then it's still not like it is at Walt Disney World.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it's just. You're getting the Disney without the Disney. Does that make sense?

Speaker 2:

Yes, because there are a lot of Disney things here. You still get buttons when you check in, like we're celebrating our anniversary, and so we got those buttons. And since it was the first time here at the Vero Beach Resort, they gave us special buttons for that and we'll share some more details on some pixie dust. We've gotten on our episode when we recap the trip.

Speaker 1:

Yes, and breakfast today here at Wind and Waves was delicious.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

It was not nearly as chaotic as our anniversary breakfast this time last year.

Speaker 2:

Right, if you remember, last year we were in Disneyland and at the Disneyland Hotel we went to Goofy's Kitchen. It was the most frightening thing ever but this morning it was very chill, very relaxed. I still recognize that it was our anniversary, but it was.

Speaker 1:

It was very chill so even our server thinks that those character things were just.

Speaker 2:

They're too much they can be too much at certain locations.

Speaker 1:

It was too much. This was very chill. She acknowledged our anniversary and that was it Very good. The boys are having a bit of a tough time today.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so yesterday we were outside pretty much all day and even though, like every hour and a half or two hours, I was applying sunscreen, they got a little burnt and they're worn out, so a little cranky.

Speaker 1:

A little cranky, but it's more of just a relaxing day. Today we drove around a little bit. You don't have to leave, there's no reason to Like. We were gonna go out to dinner last night, but everybody was just like let's just stay here.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we did the quick service at the market by the pool and let me tell you that quick service, like there are plenty of options from you know cheeseburgers and the chicken tenders like you get at other Disney resorts. But then I also had a Mediterranean like pita sandwich and it was delicious. And they also have options, like you know, create your own salad and things like that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and they got the chicken tenders here. They've got the corn dog nuggies. Yes, they have what you need here, everything that you're used to when you go to the Disney resorts. They have here. Yes, it's so good.

Speaker 2:

It is, and they have the refillable mugs.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, a lot of people with refillable mugs walking around. Not really our thing because we don't drink sodas.

Speaker 2:

No, but I might just get one, because these mugs are cute.

Speaker 1:

Well, so we'll get one next month when we go. I know, but it's. We watched WALL-E last night on the lawn.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so they do a lot of similarities, like what they do at resorts in Walt Disney World. So yeah, there was WALL-E on the lawn last night. I think either tonight or tomorrow night it's Aladdin. There's so many different like arts and crafts activities you can do in the community hall Community hall yes, there's a nice slide at the pool. You know you can. There's a pool bar. You know you can do beach chair rentals and cabana rentals for very reasonable prices Very reasonable.

Speaker 1:

Normally where we go on Highway 38 right now would be shoulder to shoulder. You wouldn't be able to walk through that beach. But we paid the same amount for three days that we would pay on one day there that we would pay for one day out there, the beaches are not. Once you get off the resort side, here there's nobody. There's nobody on the beach Right, yeah. And even here it's not crowded.

Speaker 2:

Because, as we stated, you know, we did drive around a little bit earlier and we did venture all the way into the main Vero Beach area. I know that area is a little more touristy but there are several places like the parks, like for public beach access and stuff, that were still very quiet.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. It's just a very quiet kind of rural area down here that we're used to going to the panhandle when all of it's developed.

Speaker 2:

Yes, From end to end, end to end, it's just all developed.

Speaker 1:

It's not like that down here and this is just a relaxing place like that down here. This is just a relaxing place, Maybe if you want a couple extra days for your Walt Disney World trip. It's about an hour and a half to two hour drive from here. Come here, decompress from that and then Head back, Head back. We will definitely be back here. This is just a great place. We fell in love with it. You walk in. You get that Disney lobby scent.

Speaker 2:

You do, you immediately feel the Disney and even the decor throughout the resort and in the rooms. It's not like in-your-face Disney. It's very subtle Certain things. Even on the second day I was like, oh, I didn't realize that these characters were on the shower curtain, because it's just very subtle.

Speaker 1:

The theming here is just beautiful. I'm looking at Walt. Right now there's a wall dedicated to Walt and a lot of the history. They honor the Dodgers here. So back when the LA Dodgers were the New York Dodgers here. So back when the LA Dodgers were the New York Dodgers or Brooklyn Dodgers I'm sorry they had their spring training down here.

Speaker 2:

Yes, there's some old memorabilia.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so there was a place called Dodger Town, so that's kind of reflected here too. Looking around, there's just some cool pictures A picture of Walt with a baby deer that they used for the animators. They used it to get as lifelike drawings as they could for Bambi. They brought live animals for the animators to look at. It's just really cool, just relaxing places here.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and again we'll get into even more details on the next episode. But I mean they have like a game room where you can do puzzles and Scrabble and Monopoly, and then they have another room that has a few different TVs in it with like Xbox and Playstations and you just take the card of the game that you want to play on it to the front desk and you know they sign it out to your room and yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, this is a beautiful place and I want to say thank you to our sponsor, Main Street Travel Company, for setting this up. Travel Planner Erica booked all this for us and they can book it for you as well, and it doesn't cost you anything to book with them. And again, don't forget to tell them that we sent you. Take advantage of the special offer. We're not going to go with them today, but thank you, Travel Planner Erica and Main Street Travel Company for setting this up and booking this for us.

Speaker 2:

We'll be definitely coming back.

Speaker 1:

Definitely be back here, Brittany. Anything else you'd like to talk about?

Speaker 2:

No, again, we'll share so much more on next week's episode. We will be going back to the restaurant we ate at this morning for dinner, tonight for our anniversary 14 years, so happy anniversary 14 years.

Speaker 1:

Ears, yes, ears.

Speaker 2:

Because that's what they say here. 14 years.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

But we're looking forward to that and they have, you know, like daily specials on the menu for dinner and stuff, and I might just try one of those. We'll see, and I think we'll have time to do some other activities while here. You know, between today and tomorrow.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we did putt-putt golf today by the pool. That was fun and they do a lot of like fun pool stuff like you do at any Disney resort here.

Speaker 2:

Right, yes, it's really fun. If I don't do it today, then tomorrow at some point, like I want to do at least one of the arts and crafts activities in the community hall.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, all right. Well, that'll do it for us today. We will talk to you next week. We'll be back home on Friday.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and next week will be a full, full trip report with thorough details.

Speaker 1:

All right, we'll talk to y'all.

Speaker 2:

later Talk to you soon.

Speaker 1:

Thank you, bye.
