Speaker 2:

Hello and welcome to Circular Parks podcast episode number 155. Today we are discussing food you can only find at Hollywood Studios. There is far too much to see and do. We are here to help guide you through, but before we do that we must talk Disney merch. So this week Disney merch.

Speaker 2:

If you go to shopdisneycom, you know Inside Out 2 just came out and so they have a lot of new merch for Inside Out 2. And they have a really cute Lounge Fly wallet priced at $40. It is simulated leather from LoungeFly, certain to stir up lots of different emotions inspired by the new movie. The all-over design features the raised faces of all the different characters. The back includes a raised aplique circle with sections of all nine of Riley's emotions, including old feelings like joy, anger, sadness, and the newer ones like embarrassment. So that is this week's Disney merch. We have yet to see the movie. We're hoping to see it later this week. So I've heard a lot of good things about it, so I'm excited. Now we also have merch. If you go to our website, circleofparkscom, click on merch, it takes you directly to the Tee Public website and you can find things with our logo, such as stickers, coffee mugs, sweatshirts, t-shirts and more, so please go check that out.

Speaker 1:

Sorry, I forgot to turn my microphone on. Thank you for joining us. Episode number 155. And you, knowllywood studios isn't really known for its food, but that's changing a little bit it is.

Speaker 2:

It is especially in the last year or two I would say the last.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, the last couple years they've really upped the game. So we're going to go over the more unique offerings here and some of the classic snacks that you can only get in Hollywood Studios, and I'm excited to try some. We've had quite a few of these. Some of these we have not. We're going to try them, if not on this trip, on the next trip we go, whenever that will be. And yeah, hollywood Studios has really been up in their game. I think that's not just known for burgers and chicken tenders. They've got some, really, especially with Galaxy's Edge. Yeah, they've got. They really come full circle with this and I don't think it's quite knocking on Animal Kingdom's door for number two, but it's getting there, it's getting there, it's getting there, it's getting there. So, if you're just if you're new to us and just joining us, I'm Zach.

Speaker 1:

I'm Brittany and we do this show every single week. We just hope to bring you to Disney once a week. This is our break too. I've had a really rough past few days.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

And this is our break from our normal life, and we hope to give you a 45-minute to an hour break every single week. Take you to Disney and help you plan a better vacation to Walt Disney World or Disneyland. Help you plan a better vacation to Walt Disney World or Disneyland. We do talk about Disneyland. Some A little bit more coming up here pretty soon, yes. So, with that being said, let's just do you have something you want to talk about first, or talk about that at the end Later.

Speaker 1:

Later. Okay, let's get right into it. Brittany, where are we going first on our Hollywood Studios adventure?

Speaker 2:

first on our Hollywood Studios adventure. Well, this item isn't so much unique, but it has significance because it's at the Hollywood Brown Derby and it's their famous Cobb salad. Now you might be thinking, okay, cobb salad? But this one is just unique in ways that they just kind of dress it up a bit more. It's roasted turkey bacon, egg, tomatoes, blue cheese, avocado, classic dressing, and you can get it with chicken or shrimp. If you don't add chicken or shrimp, it is priced at $25, with chicken 32, with shrimp 35. Now, when I had it, it was delicious. Now, it was during that time when you know COVID and all that, and so they didn't do the presentation with mixing it up for you, which is what they used to be known for, and it was a whole you know presentation, so to speak. I'm not 100% sure if they have gone back to that or not, but, again, it was very good. The atmosphere here, though, has a lot of history to it as well.

Speaker 1:

So just the combination of it all, it goes hand in hand so what makes this so unique about brown derby and the cop salad? Is the original brown derby in hollywood invented the cop salad. So the owner of the restaurant, Robert Cobb the story goes, and I'm probably butchering this, but he was hungry, the restaurant was officially closed and none of the grills are on or anything like that and he asked the chef to go make him something with this, whatever they had in the back, and this is what he came up with. He just kind of put everything in a bowl, mixed it all together and there you go the Cobb salad was born and it was named after the owner of the original Brown Derby, Robert Cobb.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so again, it was good. It is a really big salad. At the time I got mine with chicken and, yeah, it was good. I would get it again.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, again the Hollywood Brown Derby. Is it a must-go-to?

Speaker 2:

I don't know. No, I mean, if you are looking for a nicer food option, that is, sit down, I mean that is a place to go.

Speaker 1:

If you're wanting a little more quieter atmosphere, I guess you could say quieter, slower yeah or the sci-fi dining may be a better option for that but it's not so much quiet.

Speaker 2:

No, you're right okay all right, what's next? Hold on, okay, we're still backing it up, we're still there, okay hollywood brown derby we are still at, however, uh, I did not try this, but a unique item that they are known for on the dessert menu is the grapefruit cake.

Speaker 1:

That does not sound appealing.

Speaker 2:

I know, and I'm not huge on grapefruit either, but everything that I have heard about this like people that we watch on YouTube and things like that they've tried it and have been surprised at how it tastes. So it is a Brown Derby original. It's vanilla sponge cake, grapefruit syrup and cream cheese icing and again, I'm not a huge grapefruit fan, but some people that I've watched that weren't either thoroughly enjoyed this. It was an odd but good combination apparently. All right, so just wanted to throw that out there.

Speaker 1:

Okay, what's next?

Speaker 2:

Next we are moving on to Fairfax Fair. Now, fairfax Fair is located on Sunset Boulevard and they serve lunch and dinner, and they have recently become known for their waffle bowls.

Speaker 1:

Okay, tell us more.

Speaker 2:

Yes. So there's three different waffle bowls and depending on which ones you get, they can be priced at $14.49 or $15.29. One is a barbecued beef brisket bowl braised beef tossed in barbecue sauce and topped with pickled jalapenos, red onion bacon and corn chips, served on house-made queso sauce and mashed potatoes inside the waffle.

Speaker 1:

Sounds pretty good.

Speaker 2:

And then you also have a Korean barbecued pork belly.

Speaker 1:

Could be spicy.

Speaker 2:

It says braised pork belly tossed in Korean barbecue sauce, topped with Korean salad and green onions, served on mashed potatoes in a waffle bowl. And then the buffalo chicken bowl Chicken breast nuggets tossed in buffalo sauce and topped with coleslaw, served on mashed potatoes in a waffle.

Speaker 1:

All right, yeah, all right. So next we're going to go to galaxy's edge for our first unique item in galaxy's edge and if you've watched any of the star wars movies, this should be no surprise to you. It is the milk stand, correct, you can get here the blue or green milk team, team Green.

Speaker 2:

Team Blue.

Speaker 1:

And they also have some other items here, but they're mostly known for the milk. The milk is $8.99, and it's got this kind of frozen consistency to it a little bit.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and you can't just let it sit in the floor to eat.

Speaker 1:

No, it's not, as good if you let it go, but the green milk has a bit of a more floral taste to it, I think.

Speaker 2:

I would agree to that. I just, I don't know the the blue milk is just it's. It's smooth tasting. To me it's good on a really hot day again, you know, I'm not saying like chug it or anything, but you don't want it just sitting around longer than like 15 minutes. Well, you get a brain freeze.

Speaker 1:

Yes, because it does have that frozen consistency as well. But they've also got some other offerings here For a limited time. Right now they have the Polystarch Puff Bread. It's croissant topped with blue and green milk Crackling, served with Yuzu Passion Fruit Coconut Dipping Sauce.

Speaker 2:

I don't know, that is different.

Speaker 1:

Different for $5.29. And they have the Boo Boo Wombo Family Farm I don't want to say that, that just sounds weird Farm Cup with choice of. I don't even know what that is, it's $13.49. And then you have the Tanu Swirl Crunchies, cereal topped with raspberry jelly and mini rainbow crunchy candies. Okay, that's $9.99. And then you can also make your blue or milk, blue or green milk, blue or green milk boozy with an addition of Bacardi rum for the blue milk or Corazon Blanco tequila for the green milk. We haven't done this. I don't want to make that boozy. That's just us, but they're $16.50 each. If you would like to do that, and if you're a Star Wars fan, you at least have to try the milk right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, for sure. I mean it is something to try. Like our kids, they're not big on milk anyway and they didn't really care for it. But again, even though I'm team blue like the green's okay, I just prefer the blue.

Speaker 1:

The blue's not bad either. I prefer the green.

Speaker 2:

Yeah for the green. Yeah, just me. That's just how it is all right, we're staying in galaxy's edge, where we're going to next. Next we are going to oga's cantina. All right, now oga's is where they have all sorts of special concoction drinks from a fuzzy tauntaun. I'll let you read what's in it in a minute, but these are some of the names.

Speaker 1:

Fuzzy Tonton.

Speaker 2:

Bloody Rancor, the Outer Rim, bespin Fizz, yub Nub, jedi Mind Trick, t-16 Skyhopper, dagobah, slug, slinger and Jet Juice, to name a few. Then without alcohol. Dagobah without alcohol Hyperdrive goodbye Without alcohol. Hyperdrive. Blurg Fire, black Spire Brew, cliff Dweller, jabba Juice, carbon Freeze and Blue Bonfa bantha bantha, sorry, she's not a star wars person.

Speaker 1:

So this is the it's not supposed to be the cantina from episode three. Sorry, episode four, my mistake, but it's kind of like that. What I would really wish would be if, like, some of the stormtroopers would like walk through there periodically and just kind of you know, not really hassle you, well, kind of a little bit, and then have some of the locals come in and and kind of talk to you, or maybe I don't know.

Speaker 2:

I think that would kind of add to the story of it a bit yeah, I think so, but I think that it stays so busy at least the one in walt disney world that you know they're trying to just get you in and out a little faster too, that is true, we are visiting the one in Batuu West as well.

Speaker 1:

Yes, in the next trip we're probably not going to go to the one in Batuu East. I don't know, we'll see, but the most I would say, not famous. Yeah, I guess most famous drink here would be the Fuzzy Tauntaun.

Speaker 2:

Yes because, it does some weird things.

Speaker 1:

It is K fuzzy tauntaun. Yes, and it is. It does some weird things. It is kettle, one botanical, and peach and orange vodka bowls, peach nops, liqueur, orange juice with tangerine, pure cane sugar and buzz bottom tingling phone so bottom button button, excuse me it's been a long four days for me.

Speaker 2:

I'm barely hanging on right now well, you were giving me a hard time of pronouncing things wrong.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, mm-hmm. So the foam is supposed to make your lips and tongue go a little numb.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it is kind of cool, like I felt it more on my lips.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah, but again, this is just. It's a screwdriver.

Speaker 2:

Basically. That's basically very fancy and a twist and the drinks are expensive.

Speaker 1:

This one's, 1850, the bloody rancor, is basically a bloody mary for 20, and then the t16 skyhopper. That one's kind of unique. It's uh, vodka, melon, liqueur, kiwi and half and half I don't know about that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I don't know that's. What you get is tequila, pomegranate liqueur, lime juice, pure cane sugar and black salt and exotic fruit puree. So that's like a you know a margarita, but I really like that one.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I usually get the Jet Juice. It's Maker's, mark bourbon, ancho reyes, chili liqueur, steering's Pomegranate Liqueur, white Grape Juice and Lemon Juice. It's a little sweet, but not too much. Sometimes the lemon juice kind of cuts it out a little bit. It's $17.50. And the Yub Nub is a bigger drink. It's $46, and it's served in a souvenir Souvenir I can't talk Souvenir indoor mug and the concoctions without alcohol.

Speaker 2:

The hyperdrive. That is our youngest nolan's favorite. Yes, powerade, mountain berry blast, white cranberry juice, black cherry puree and sprite. He loves sprite, he likes powerade, so he loves that drink and our oldest ryan.

Speaker 1:

He likes the carbon freeze. It's powerade lemon, lime, wild strawberry, blueberry and green apple popping pearls.

Speaker 2:

He likes that and he likes the popping pearls too.

Speaker 1:

So the hyperdrive is $7. The carbon freeze is $8. And it's just a unique. Do you need to do it every time? No, but it's a unique fun experience.

Speaker 2:

To experience at least once.

Speaker 1:

DJ Rex playing the music. The music's very unique.

Speaker 2:

And I love watching DJ Rex.

Speaker 1:

DJ Rex is awesome and he's voiced by Paul Peewee Herman. Yeah, I can't think of his last name so, uh, that's really, really cool and it's very unique to to hollywood studios. And there again, there is one in disneyland at batu west but we're mainly talking about the one in batu east and the menu don't get the food here, just don't.

Speaker 2:

It's we haven't tried it though just what it looks, like it just well yeah, I mean it's supposed to be a unique environment because you're in Galaxy's Edge. But, yeah, the environment or anything in the atmosphere. I say, if you can try to go at least one time, Reservations.

Speaker 1:

Reservations are not required Highly recommended. And speaking of reservations, we were driving in the car a few days ago and our youngest, nolan, was like, are we going to Oga's in Disneyland? I was like, are we going to ogis in disneyland? I was like no, do you want to go? And he was like yeah. So we talked to our travel planner travel planner erica, with main street travel company. Speaker 1:

She's going to throw a $100 gift card for your Disneyland vacation.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and like Zach said, I mean literally just the other day. You know, we were in the car and that's how. Hey, yeah, we actually are going to go to Oga's Cantina and she was able to make that reservation for us.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, again, we hadn't planned on it. Nolan brought it up, you immediately texted her and she was like I'm on it, yep, done, yep.

Speaker 2:

So yeah, and again this time around we will be going to the Disneyland one. But yeah, so just you know, stress off of us trying to look into it. You know she did it for us. And again, even you know, with our reservations for restaurants while we're eating on this trip, you know we didn't have to worry about that. Just told her what we wanted around the time we would want to eat, and there you go.

Speaker 1:

Where are we heading to next?

Speaker 2:

All right. Next is the Market Snack Stand. I don't want to say this is the Market Snack Stand. I don't want to say this. So it is in Pixar Plaza area and it is Jack-Jack's Num-Num Cookie.

Speaker 1:

I can't say that it looks amazing, though. Well, you're the one that added it to the list, I know, because you can only get it here and in Pixar Land, in Disneyland, or DCA, what is it called?

Speaker 2:

Pixar Pier.

Speaker 1:

Pixar Pier. Yeah, you can get it here in Pixar Pier and we're just gonna say Jack, jack's cookie okay, and since you are, you know all about it. Like, describe it to us so it's a how it's huge.

Speaker 2:

It's like this they can't see your hand if you can see my hands.

Speaker 1:

I'm making this it's about the size of a Gideon's cookie.

Speaker 2:

It is a bigger cookie and I believe it's loaded with chocolate chips. Yes, it's soft though.

Speaker 1:

Yes, it's not crunchy, it's a very soft cookie. It looks amazing. I want to take a bite of it, but I don't want to spend $6.39 and nobody else get it.

Speaker 2:

Well, I think they don't have to worry about that.

Speaker 1:

Yes, but I do want to try a bite of it, but I'm not gonna. You're gonna have to order it. I can't say that. Can I just say? Can I go up and just say jack, jack's cookie yeah, they just, I want a jack jack's cookie.

Speaker 2:

I don't want to say the other part but yeah, that's all you have to do now they put it in like a cupcake wrapper yeah, so it be. Maybe it's a little softer. Well, it's softer and like a deeper, thicker cookie maybe, and that's why they do that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

Or maybe they know, like this chocolate's going to melt everywhere. If you don't have that, I don't know.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, yeah. So you think the consistency may be like a cupcake consistency or more than that. Not quite that, but a very Maybe kind of in between, maybe I don't know, but it's definitely a unique item, only here and in pixar pier at dca, right, yeah, and this again is just like a little stand.

Speaker 2:

All they have are, you know, our snacks here, you know, very, very basic, like they have this cookie, nachos and cheese, banana and some chips. Yeah, that's about it, yeah all right.

Speaker 1:

Next on the list, we're going to back lot express. Not to eat a full dinner, though, though, because this is. I mean, they do have some different things, but it's mainly just burgers, and they got pulled pork and chicken bowl and chicken tenders. That's all they got, but we're going here for the one of the maybe maybe the most famous dessert in Hollywood Studios.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, because even though we haven't had it like even before, we ever went, I think I've heard it oh, that's right, I forgot. Yeah, okay, but I've heard about it for a long time you all the YouTubers show it.

Speaker 1:

It's a very Instagrammable thing, not, but it's not just what it is yes, it is the wookie cookie found only here at pack lot express. Two oatmeal cookies with vanilla cream filling garnished with a milk chocolate. Uh sash on top.

Speaker 2:

It resembles chewy's sash that he wears I'm laughing because you're doing so much with your hands.

Speaker 1:

today I've had a rough few days, you've made that very clear. I'm trying to like maybe if I do this it will click something in my head.

Speaker 2:

When I do stuff like this, you give me such a hard time.

Speaker 1:

You're giving me a hard time and I'm okay with that.

Speaker 2:

But yes so the chocolate sash.

Speaker 1:

Yes the milk chocolate sash is like Chewy's sash, so this, if you like oatmeal cream pies, which I love them. This is what this was, but just elevated.

Speaker 2:

Right, a little bit bigger.

Speaker 1:

Bigger, a little bit softer Now. They've recently changed the oatmeal cookie on it and I don't know, I haven't tried it yet, but the other one was delicious. I'm going to try it again on this trip we're coming up it. And I don't know, I haven't tried it yet, but the other one was delicious. I'm gonna try and get on this trip we're coming up and I had it. Uh, it was about a year ago when I got it. I was one of my research trips I think it was.

Speaker 2:

That was right before they made the change.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yeah and so it was delicious again. It's a unique star wars snack that you can only get here the wookie cookie.

Speaker 2:

Go look it up yes, and I've heard mixed reviews on the updated version. Like I've heard, it's not that big of a difference, and then some people that are a little bit more particular about food are like no, you can tell a difference.

Speaker 1:

So if you're used to the oatmeal cream pies like that texture the old ones used to be like that this one looks a little bit softer Almost.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so we'll see.

Speaker 1:

We'll see. We'll see yes all right. Next we are headed to docking bay seven food and cargo, and this is back in galaxy's edge yes, so I recently ate here, back in april, when I went on one of my research trips, and everything on this menu is unique. You're not going to get this anywhere. And what I mean? That Hollywood Studios has started to elevate their game. This is a quick service restaurant, A quick service restaurant.

Speaker 2:

A little pricey.

Speaker 1:

We have the dining plan. This makes it worth it for sure it is a little bit pricier, but the items and the quality that you're going to get here is really good. So we're going to start off with the Batuan Beef and Crispy Topato. This is smoked beef braised in tamarind sauce, served with harvest vegetables. Smoked beef braised.

Speaker 2:

That sounds good.

Speaker 1:

At a quick service restaurant. Yeah, it's $18.99. You got the Pekka Tuna tuna poke raw tuna tossed and spicy sriracha dressing and served with green papaya salad, pickled mushrooms, fresh herbs and crispy garlic for 18.49. That's an elevated quick service meal right there yeah, for sure you got the kashik.

Speaker 1:

You have to say it correctly kashik beef and sweet tapato, not not potato tapado salad. Tender sliced beef, roasted sweet potatoes, purple potatoes, served on arugula and watercress, topped with spicy yellow aji cheese sauce and pickled onions. $17.29. They have smoked kadu pork ribs. Pork ribs brushed with tangy barbecue sauce and served with blueberry corn muffin and red cabbage slaw. $16.99. The indorian fried chicken tip yep, crispy chicken served with macaroni and cheese and roasted harvest vegetables for 16.29. This is what I had. So they were like it's just a chunk of chicken but it was like the thigh and a dark. It was a dark meat, it was fried perfectly, but the flavor in this was really good was amazing for chicken, just like a fried piece of chicken.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh, it was up there with jungle crew. Uh, skipper canteen oh, wow it was delicious yeah, so good.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, I mean, the pictures look good too of it. You know, it definitely looks unique, but it looks good.

Speaker 1:

It was, you would think it's just a fried. It's not just a piece of fried chicken. It was delicious, it was so good and I think all these meals are elevated here.

Speaker 2:

Right.

Speaker 1:

And if you're on a dining plan, you're definitely getting your value at this restaurant with these prices. Yeah, so I would At this restaurant with these prices. Yeah, so the theming in here is just on point. It is so cool. If you like, looking at the restaurant from the outside, you see like a cargo ship on top and then this theming continues down below that in the restaurant. This is so good, such a great restaurant.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and they have a few other unique meals on here as well, but that's just a good example for you. Now, you know, for kids they have a kid's meal, that is the fried chicken tipyip, yungling, yungling yungling, yungling so I'm thinking it's something different yungling meal so, and that's so in the Star Wars universe a youngling.

Speaker 1:

Do we need to go into this?

Speaker 2:

no, so it's basically that meal, though, that Zach just described, but a kids version of it.

Speaker 1:

I will say and there is a beer here that you can only get here, it's the Gold Squadron. You can get it at Oga's Canteen as well, but here in Oga's Canteen it's the Gold Squadron Lager by Blue Point Brewing Company. It is delicious. It is a golden lager with lavender and plum flavors, so it's got a bit of a floral hint to it. Yeah, for $14.50. Delicious, absolutely good. So if you're into, like, getting unique beers you can only get in certain places, this would be the one you want to try. Here again, you can get it at ogre's as well. Okay, all right. So, yes, moving on moving on.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm sorry, uh, so now we're going to pizza rizzo not getting the puffy pizzas?

Speaker 2:

no, no uh, so this is located on grand avenue and there were a couple unique items here. One is a pizza it's sugar cookie topped with strawberry jam, white chocolate and sprinkles, for $4.79. And then this one the next thing is not so much unique, but they said it could. From the research I looked at and everything that it can definitely become shareable if you're wanting it just a snack and not a meal. It can definitely become shareable if you're wanting it just a snack and not a meal, and it is delicious and it's known more here than their pizzas and it is the Meatball Sub.

Speaker 1:

Yes, no one recommends going to Pizza Rizzo. I don't think we've. This is the first time we've ever talked about Pizza Rizzo on the podcast, but the Meatball Sub everybody says it's. You have to go here for this, right. You have to go here for this, right, you have to. So this is on our list Not going to happen this trip.

Speaker 1:

No, but I think whenever we go, maybe it'd be just a snack and we all kind of share, we all split it, yeah, so apparently delicious, I don't know, but we would definitely try it sometime.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so again a hoagie roll stuffed with seasoned meatballs and smothered in marinara sauce and provolone, served with a choice of side for $12.49. So it looks really good. It looks like it's just the right balance of all the toppings. The meatballs look pretty legit. So but yeah, as far as the pizza and stuff, you know, we have not heard such good things.

Speaker 1:

No, it's just the same puffed pizza you can get at Pizzafari. And if your kids are, I'm being serious for a second If your kids are really just diehard set on pizza either in Animal Kingdom or at Hollywood Studios, wait until you get back to your resort and order Domino's. It's going to be a much better pizza. However, at Animal Kingdom there is a little cart stand thing past Pizzafari on the right-hand side, like you're going to Africa, and I forgot the name of the cart on the right-hand side, but apparently they had to do sliced, like deep dish sliced pizza there. Apparently that's legit and I can't think of the name of the cart off the top of my head. I know this isn't a thing about animal kingdom, but right, we got on the pizza tangent there for a minute yeah, yeah don't get the puffy pizza, it's just.

Speaker 2:

it Don't this is not good, yep, all right, all right. So, moving on to Katsaka's Kettle, and this is back in Galaxy's.

Speaker 1:

Edge again. Back in Galaxy's, again. Galaxy's Edge again.

Speaker 2:

So they have some snacks of popcorn. You have buttered blue grains or you have the Outpost popcorn mix and that is a colorful blend of sweet and spicy flavors. So the colors are like red and purple and like the butter color.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And it's priced at $6.49. But they also have a coffee drink and it is Cold Brew, black Calf, and is priced at $5.79. It's Joffrey's Coffee, cold Brew topped with sweet cream cheese and chocolate puffs.

Speaker 1:

I would not be getting that.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So I don't know. I used to be able to love to drink these sweet coffee drinks, you know, like Frappes, rappaccinos, all that stuff. As I've gotten older they don't always agree with me, but this one does kind of hold my attention, I've heard. You know, if you don't really stir it up, then if you don't want it to be super sweet, it won't be. But once you stir that sweet cream in, that's when it becomes sweet.

Speaker 1:

So I don't know, I might would try it so I'm looking at the salvaged stormtrooper helmet bucket, popcorn bucket for $25.49. So we're starting to get our podcast room here a little more done up and cozy and decorated and stuff. Well, not quite yet. We're working on it. I think that'd be cool to put in here.

Speaker 2:

Yeah it would be, I don't know For sure. Just got to figure out how to get it in the suitcase. That's why we're taking that other huge one for stuff like this. You're gonna buy it on this next trip, really okay, okay, I love you no, okay, moving on, moving on, but we are staying on this side of the park. Once again, galaxy's edge. Ronto roasters all right, tell us about the ronto roasters. So ronto roasters, that? Well, let me just be honest. Before we ever tried the wraps here, we were kind of hesitant yes yes, but they are delicious they are.

Speaker 2:

They are for breakfast. You can get a Ronto Morning Wrap and it's eggs, grilled pork, sausage, shredded cheddar and peppercorn sauce inside pita bread. Oh it is good.

Speaker 1:

It is delicious.

Speaker 2:

And that peppercorn sauce, like I don't know just something about it. It all just goes very well together. And then you also have things like krill, pork rinds.

Speaker 1:

Krill.

Speaker 2:

Okay, krill pork rinds, and it's seasoned in a savory blend of ancho, chili, cheddar, smoke and cinnamon for $7.49. They have rising moons, overnight oats, which is oats, dragon fruit, yogurt and seasonal fruit for $6.99. So those are some examples of what is on their breakfast menu. Now, if you go to lunch and dinner which my computer is going a little slow so I might have to rely on you yeah, I'm going to have to. No, here we go. Yeah, I'm going to have to. No, here we go. So for lunch and dinner, they have the original Ronto Wrap, which is roasted pork, grilled pork, sausage, peppercorn sauce and tangy slaw wrapped in the pita bread for $13.29. Delicious, delicious.

Speaker 2:

I'm not big on slaw and stuff, but you can get it without the slaw you can get it without, but I think I still got mine with it, but it was pretty well balanced. But I think I still got mine with it, but it was pretty well balanced.

Speaker 1:

It added a bit of a crunch to it.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, for sure, and I think just having it all together is good. I'm not big on slaw when I'm just eating it as a side by itself. And then you can also get a Zuki wrap for $12.29. And it's grilled zucchini, smoky chickpea, onion slaw, creamy garlic, tahini sauce and fresh cilantro wrapped in pita bread.

Speaker 1:

It is very, very good. The seating area right next to it is awesome. The seating area inside where Ronto's is, it's just. It's a great cool place. Yes, the theming here is just amazing.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and so don't let this pass you up. If you're like I don't know about that, is it really going to be good? Is it worth trying for sure?

Speaker 1:

yeah, yeah, all right, so we're going to leave galaxy's edge behind now, yeah, and we're going to go to.

Speaker 1:

I guess we're going to get a toy story land yes and and if you're brave enough during the day it's there's not a lot of shade here I recommend going here later in the evening, when the sun's setting a little bit or there's a little more shade or at night even to eat, and they're mainly known for their tarts. Well, not really known for it, but they have a lunchbox tart. It's a raspberry marmalade stuffed pastry coated in a strawberry fondant and crispy pearls. It's okay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah.

Speaker 1:

It's an okay pop tart, but what else is on their menu is they have a grilled three cheese sandwich. Now you can't get grilled cheese anyway right. This is different. Yeah it the one of the best grilled cheeses I've ever had. I've had the barbecue brisket melt, which is delicious.

Speaker 2:

you get the three cheese grilled cheese with the smoked brisket in there, so good yeah, and then, like for breakfast, they have a breakfast bowl, so it's like your tachos. So they call tater tots potato barrels in Walt Disney World a lot of places, and so it's a hearty portion of potato barrels smothered in smoked brisket, country gravy, scrambled eggs and a sprinkling of green onions. But then you can also do the regular tachos later in the day, and those are the potato barrels coated with beef and bean, chili, shredded cheese and signature queso with tomatoes and corn chips, finished with sour cream and a sprinkle of green onions. So several of the items that we have tried here are very, very good yes, but the brisket grilled cheese or just a regular grilled cheese, amazing yeah, but it is going to be busy.

Speaker 1:

Mobile order mobile order and most of these places you can mobile order at yeah, so it is good.

Speaker 2:

You know it is a little loud, you're right there in the midst of everything, but I still, I still love it yeah, this is a place again, mobile ordering.

Speaker 1:

The line here is ridiculous, so make sure you mobile order here. Yes, all right, so we're leaving the craziness of Toy Story Land. Where are we going to next?

Speaker 2:

Well, you added this, but it is a little bit more crazy depending on where you sit. So 50s Primetime Cafe.

Speaker 1:

I added 50s Primetime Cafe for one reason, and one reason only the food isn't. It's really good food Right, but it's not really unique. It's just home-cooked food right.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, but it's food you don't often see in the parks.

Speaker 1:

Not anymore, but it's very delicious. But we're going here for one reason and one reason only, and I think we need to do this on our next trip, and I think we need to live stream it and get the same reaction from you as we did last year at another shake. This is going to be the peanut butter and jelly milkshake, for $9.25. Now we can go up and just sit in the lounge area and just order this. What do you think? You think we should live stream it?

Speaker 2:

We'll see. We got to think how hot it's going to be.

Speaker 1:

Every person I've talked to that has tried this, or like they were afraid to try it in the beginning and then they said it's like one of the best things I've ever had okay so I mean, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

I'd like, if we can relive the face you gave for that grape shake that was a pickle shake oh, it was the pickle one, that's right because the grape one you like too. Okay, so yeah, the pickle shake, because I was the one shake. Oh, it was the pickle one, that's right, because the grape one you liked too. Okay, so yeah, the pickle shake. Because I was the one dreading that, and you were the one that had issues with it.

Speaker 1:

So you, the listener, let us know. Do you want to see us live stream trying the peanut butter and jelly milkshake at 50's prime time? Let us know.

Speaker 2:

Yes, now you know, like Zach said, that's the main reason why he put this on the list. But just keep in mind, I mean they have things you know, like pot roast and meatloaf and chicken pot pie and things like that it is definitely a unique restaurant it is a unique restaurant, unique environment definitely takes you back to the 50s picture. You know how kitchens and furniture and everything were back in the 50s and and that's what you get yep, all right.

Speaker 1:

Where are we heading to next?

Speaker 2:

next we are headed to abc.

Speaker 1:

Commissary we have not eaten here. This is the last quick service, well, besides pizza rizzo quick service place we have not eaten at, but this place used to be just burgers and chicken tenders and stuff like.

Speaker 2:

That's why we hadn't eaten there before right, because there wasn't anything like unique, right yeah?

Speaker 1:

they have completely revamped their menu and they have some stuff in here that I definitely want to try. Do you want to go over it or do you want me to go over what I want to try?

Speaker 2:

with Mexican rice and pork, black beans topped with queso fresco. And then you can also get shrimp tacos, which is basically everything I said except shrimp instead. And then they have Mediterranean salad with chicken, and then I think I know what you might want to try.

Speaker 1:

I want to get the buffalo chicken grilled cheese sandwich Grilled sourdough toasted with buffalo chicken, monterey provolone cheddar and cream cheese, served with a side of buffalo sauce and your choice of side. We've watched several youtubers try this and it looks delicious and they've all said it is amazing. Like the flavors there. It's a little it's a different buffalo grilled, like it's different delicious, yeah yeah definitely would want to try this, yeah for sure.

Speaker 2:

so again, the reason why we haven't gone before because it was just your basic menu and we were like, oh, we've had that at so many other places, so now definitely want to give it a try sometime.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

So next on the list, mama Melrose. Okay, and this is because they have a chocolate cupcake topped with vanilla buttercream, tinted with a touch of yellow and piped from a skinny tipped pastry bag To give it the look of spaghetti. Okay, so it's meant to be like a meatball looking cupcake.

Speaker 1:

I'm out.

Speaker 2:

It's icing meant to look like spaghetti noodles. I'm out, oh my gosh. And then the meatball is a really round chocolate cake rolled in chocolate sprinkles. And then there's like a strawberry sauce that's supposed to represent like the pasta sauce, and then, to make it look like there's Parmesan cheese on it, it's white chocolate shavings.

Speaker 1:

I have a feeling all these cupcakes that disney's come up with.

Speaker 2:

They're very instagrammable, but most of them usually aren't that good right, you know, but this one, I just think it is unique because they do a very good job about making it look like spaghetti and meatballs, and so that's why it made our list.

Speaker 1:

Definitely unique. Yes, all right.

Speaker 2:

And then this one we were kind of arguing back and forth over, but I put it on here because it's a unique flavor to it and I'm not big on funnel cakes, but if you go to Epic Eats it's a funnel cake. They have funnel cakes and the unique one I put on here was they have a cookies and cream funnel cake it's a funnel cake okay, cookies and cream. So again, I'm not big on funnel cakes, but I thought that would be I like unique pure funnel cakes with, like the powder sugar.

Speaker 2:

I don't like them all fancy and gussied up, someone else might I'm just I know, I'm just saying it's not that unique and then a newer item. Don't know if it's a limited time or not, but there's a Joffrey's little kiosk close to Tower of Terror.

Speaker 1:

Yes, it's that you get out.

Speaker 2:

And they currently have the Terror cookie with chocolate Oreo and cinnamon sugar and it's colored purple, so you can only find that at that location.

Speaker 1:

So it's chocolate with Oreo and then cinnamon sugar.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. And then it's colored purple, like I will be honest. It would be really sweet with the food coloring. The look of it. It wasn't like bright in your face purple, it was kind of more of a dull, creepy purple. I guess you could say but anyway so that uh currently only found at that location okay, all right, anything else that is it for food, as we were saying do you have more food to talk?

Speaker 1:

about? No, I got nothing, okay.

Speaker 2:

So, as we were saying, you know they hollywood studios has definitely changed. Obviously, a lot of the places on there was in Galaxy's Edge and that is a big reason. But throughout the list we had mentioned, for example, abc Commissary, they kind of revamped their menu and certain other locations I mean Woody's Lunchbox it's not just your typical sandwiches, they have a special little twist on them as well.

Speaker 1:

It is unique quick service food, for sure, yeah, so definitely check some of these out if you have a chance. You know special little twist on them.

Speaker 2:

It is unique. Uh, quick service food, for sure. Yeah, so definitely, you know. Check some of these out if you have a chance. Uh, I'm sure you're going to want to try that wookie cookie again, just to see the difference in it yes, and yeah, so, uh again, we haven't tried all of these, but we would like to and let us know if you do want us to live stream the peanut butter and jelly milkshake. Yeah, we'll definitely do it, all right, so?

Speaker 1:

that brings us to this week's Disney trivia question, again, keeping it on what we're talking about, this question was what do they use to cook the Ronto meat in Galaxy's Edge, so you know where the pit is? And it's spinning, and it's spinning like the the ronto meat. Yes, and the correct answer is it's a pod racing engine that they use to cook it so what's above it? Hanging down okay now it's not really a pod racing engine cooking the meat.

Speaker 2:

They're making it look like yes, yes it is so.

Speaker 1:

That is what they use. And the winner no winner for the correct answer this week, but I have a winner of the best incorrect answer.

Speaker 2:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Is that something Sure? You know, they kind of say answer this, incorrect answers only. So this answer kind of made me think of that.

Speaker 2:

So a unique answer.

Speaker 1:

So Hughish from Instagram said the pavement in Toy Story Land, I love it in toy story land. I love so hot in there, so I will give props to that. That is. That is a very creative and accurate yeah answer because it is hot in toy story land yes, especially middle of the summer so no official winner, but unofficially huish from instagram. Yeah, that's, that's a good answer. That's a great answer.

Speaker 2:

Yes, well, we actually have a new review.

Speaker 1:

A new review Okay.

Speaker 2:

Yes, so this listener is a listener from the Netherlands.

Speaker 1:

We're actually getting pretty big in Europe. Thank you for all of our European and Central and South American listeners. Thank you so much.

Speaker 2:

Yes, thank you. Now this listener said it was their first time to Walt Disney World and they are autistic and they were extremely nervous about what to expect and that the podcast episodes helped so much. So a giant thank you, and keep up the good work.

Speaker 1:

Well, thank you, whoever you are. We really appreciate that we don't get a lot of reviews or a lot of feedback on how we're doing, and just recently we had the conversation of do we even continue doing this podcast? Right, and we agree to keep doing it because it's, if anything, it's just a break for us right To talk about this every week, and there is a lot that goes into these episodes. We're not just talking back and forth Like. We do a lot of research that goes into this, and when we get these messages, it just really means a lot. And when we talk about if we should continue doing or not, we always say if we could help at least one person have a better vacation, then I think what we're doing is a good thing, right.

Speaker 2:

Right. So when this came up it was kind of perfect timing.

Speaker 1:

It was great timing, yes.

Speaker 2:

Because we had just had that conversation. So thank you for sharing.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and we're so happy that we were able to make the experience more comfortable and able to help and guide in any way and, like Zach just said, just echoing off of him, you know, that's what we really want to do every week Just our thoughts, experiences, what we'd like to experience on our next trips.
