Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome to Circle of Parks podcast episode number 158. Today we are discussing our coast-to-coast trip planning. There is far too much to see and do. We are here to help guide you through, but before we do that, we must talk. Disney merch must talk Disney merch.

Speaker 1:

So this week, disneystorecom you know I'm still all about that Inside Out 2 movie and they have two new shirts. But the one I'm talking about today is the kid size Core Memory Day t-shirt. It is priced at $22.99. It is super cute. All of Riley's emotions have come together on the front of this cotton t-shirt that celebrates the fact that today is a core memory day and again it features all nine emotions. Now there is a very similar adult shirt, I believe, priced at $27 or $28.99. And it's very similar, except it doesn't have all nine emotions. So that's why I focused on the kids. One today, again, it is on DisneyStorecom $22.99. And that is this week's Disney merch. And we have merch. If you go to our website, circleofparkscom, click on merch, it takes you directly to the Tee Public website and from there you can get things such as stickers, coffee mugs, sweatshirts, t-shirts and more. So please go check that out.

Speaker 2:

Thank you everybody for joining us Episode number 158. It's here.

Speaker 1:

Our trip is almost here.

Speaker 2:

We've been planning it since fall break.

Speaker 1:

Feels like longer than that Of last year Feels like longer than that Of last year?

Speaker 2:

Yes, and how this came about is I was looking for leave for this year from work and I was not able to get fall break or spring break Correct, which actually ends up working out, because apparently the older you get, the less care that travel soccer clubs have for your fall break and spring break.

Speaker 1:

There's just a lot of soccer going on that fall on either end so it actually is working out.

Speaker 2:

And so we were sitting at the pool at Caribbean beach when we were discussing what we were going to do for our we're going to have like one big summer vacation, right.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and our oldest Ryan still hasn't been to a disney park at his birthday, and the rest of us kind of have I haven't you haven't sorry. That's why I was like well, kind of have, but I know it's hard when kids school just starts back at your birthday.

Speaker 2:

But like nolan has been, I've been, and now ryan yeah, because so nolan's birthday is around christmas and so we've been to Christmas the past couple of times and it's kind of been like a birthday trip for him, right, and Ryan, our oldest one, he is the adventurer, he likes taking, going on adventures and taking trips. He doesn't like birthday presents, he doesn't like having a party, he wants to have experiences. So two years ago, me and him went to Chicago Last year, if you remember back to our Disney trivia we had. We were in New York city for a couple of days, and so this year we were like we're going to go for your birthday, ryan.

Speaker 2:

And I don't know if, if on his mind was cause we had been recently talking about the coast to coast 24 hour mountain challenge. Me and him were, but we were like what do you want to do? What, what? Where do you want to go? And he said, well, let's just do both coasts. Yeah, I was like, okay, let's do it. Yep, and so here we are here we are uh, we're gonna spend.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna because we got a lot to get to, so we're not going to really go into too much detail. But we're spending three nights in california transcon flight lax to mco. Spending five nights in orlando, in california, we're staying at the grand californian great resort. Yes, and in orlando we were originally supposed to stay at the beach club and we want to do a split stay originally half speech, half yacht. Say we've done both.

Speaker 2:

Right right, but we still get the great pool yeah, because they're right next to each other, they share the right yeah so when the discount for ap holders came out I want to say it was back in april erica rebooked our stuff and I thought we were still with beach club, yeah. And then I was online making my park reservations because I still have to make park reservations than ap and I noticed we were sent to the yacht club, which was, I thought, weird. So apparently, when she went in to go rebook everything, they didn't have any discounts for the beach club but they did for the yacht club.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

So we actually upgraded to a water view room at the yacht club and they it was significantly less than what we originally booked, which is confusing to me, because we couldn't do the split stay because yacht room, yacht Club didn't have any rims.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

That was weird.

Speaker 1:

Yeah. If you're following along with that, sorry. Yeah, it's a little confusing and somehow the way the discounts applied it could be applied to Yacht Club for the whole stay.

Speaker 2:

Yeah. So anyway, we're doing three nights Grand Californian, five nights at the Yacht Club and let's get right into it. Day one arrival at the Grand Californian.

Speaker 1:

Brittany, what are you looking forward to? Well, looking forward to a lot. I was going to say quickly just keep in mind when we go. So California, the weather is going to be mid to upper 80s in Disneyland, with lows in the 60s.

Speaker 1:

So you, know, a little chilly in the evening, might want to take like a light little pullover hoodie or something with you and keep in the backpack or something or tie along around your waist. But you know, during the day it's going to be pretty warm. But they have a dry heat, not the humidity and stuff where when we go to Walt Disney World it's going to be highs in the 90s and the lows are still in the upper 70s. So a bit different there. But yeah, day one arriving at the Grand Californian, looking forward to going to downtown Disney after we drop off our bags at the resort because most likely our room probably won't be available yet.

Speaker 2:

We're arriving really early. We're getting there at like 10 o'clock in the morning. Yes, because we're taking a very early flight from home. Yes, for sure.

Speaker 1:

So, leaving the bags, going to downtown Disney for lunch and shopping, and we had been discussing, okay, where do we want to eat? And we decided to go to Splitsville. Yes, and they have a broad menu actually. So you know, we all kind of sometimes like our own things, so it kind of pleases everybody's palate there, and then we'll probably do like a game of bowling just to pass some time and then walk around downtown Disney a little bit, do some shopping. One of the boys favorite stores is their Pele soccer. And then I want to go to the world of Disney store and they also have another store that's like Disney home, so it's like stuff for the home.

Speaker 1:

Don't worry, I'm not going gonna buy anything there we don't have that much room, like we're bringing an extra bag for stuff, but not for that, I just want to look at it, though no, I'll be probably buying stuff at world of disney, but anyway of course, um. And then after that, though, you know, hopefully our room will be ready. If not, though, we'll get our swim stuff out of our bags. Change, go ahead and head to the pool and just kind of looking forward to relaxing and chilling while the boys are having fun.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so this is going to be our pool day here in California, because they're only doing three nights and two park days, so we purposely wanted to arrive early.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

So we could do downtown Disney and have a pool day and just kind of relax, take it easy. It's going to be a very busy trip up until like the last couple of days, so we're starting it off relaxing and we're going to end it relaxing, but yeah, it's going to be go, go, go after this and and we'll just eat dinner at the pool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, they have like a little pool bar there. So we're staying at the yacht club. I'm going to tie it all together. I promise we're staying at the yacht club in walt, disney world, right. So the great thing about that is not the pool, which is great too, but the side entrance to epcot, right right this is even better yes, so I now I get where you're going.

Speaker 2:

The grand californian ties in right there with dca yes, disney's california venture, so something better than the side entrance is not even having a side entrance, it's going straight from the resort into the park.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, because they have their own security check At Disney.

Speaker 2:

California Adventure. You go straight from the hotel into California Adventure.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

That's awesome.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And so the next day, day two, we are going to Disney's California Adventure. Do an early entry 30 minutes early, and Ryan and I are going to go's California Adventure. Do an early entry 30 minutes early, and Ryan and I are going to go to Guardians of the Galaxy. You and Nolan are going to go to Toy Story.

Speaker 1:

Right, yes, that is what was decided, but then after that we want to meet up and ride all together Radiator Springs Racers, hopefully before the park opens up to everybody else.

Speaker 2:

I think we can do that. I think that's very doable. And we're also going to do Genie Plus for California Adventure and Disneyland and we're going to do an individual paid lighting lane for Radiator Springs Racer as well. We decided to do Genie Plus. I've been looking at wait times. I don't think we'll need it, but since we've decided this is going to be our last trip out west for probably a few years, we want to make sure we get everything done but have enough time to really relax and take in the parks and not have to be rushing or waiting in lines for a lot of things. So one thing I really want to take my time in and they were working on it last year when we went, but it was wasn't complete, is they read? We did the pacific wharf to san francisco from big hero 6 and I love that movie. I cannot wait, yeah, to go check it out.

Speaker 1:

I might actually meet hero yeah, and he, you know how he is about characters and I might actually meet baymax.

Speaker 2:

That that's how cool, how much I'm looking forward to this.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and it's really cool how they really made it look like San Francisco and like the bridge that you used to walk over that was over, like the Pacific Wharf, I guess has now made it look like the Golden Gate.

Speaker 2:

Well, the Golden Gate from San Francisco. It was a Golden Gate before, but now they added the little touches to it.

Speaker 1:

The touches that really make it look like the movie. But now they added the little touches to it, the little touches that really make it look like the movie. And then the shops, restaurants. They really kept with the theming from the movie as well. So I don't know if we're really going to get to eat anything from here.

Speaker 2:

I might Except maybe a little snack I might.

Speaker 1:

Because we do have a reservation somewhere else later on. But I definitely want to take the time as well in looking through the area and the shops yeah, we'll definitely, and we'll do breakfast at pimp's test kitchen.

Speaker 2:

It's just so cool. Pimp's test kitchen is such a cool place yeah, so.

Speaker 1:

So after our rope drop rides and everything yeah, we'll eat breakfast.

Speaker 2:

It's such a cool restaurant there's some it's. I get it's a little like gitchy, but it's so cool it is it's. It's're not going to see that stuff anywhere else.

Speaker 1:

Right, right. And we all enjoyed it before, definitely. And Nolan is saying he's going to join Zach and Ryan sometime that day in riding Credit Coaster.

Speaker 2:

Once he found out we're not going to be going out west again and he's been kind of going back and forth on it. Anyway, the start of it is not as intense as like Rockin' Roller Coaster, so I think he's going to be good with it and I think this will be a great introduction to going upside down, right. So, which kind of boggles my mind, because he loves Everest and that part where you go backwards is to simulate going upside down.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

So I think he'll be fine. He's looking forward to it. We're pumped up about it. Maybe we can get him to go on mission breakout. I don't know. That one's. I'm looking forward to that. Uh, cars land.

Speaker 1:

We're going to spend a lot of time, and especially around sunset yeah, I'm going to be in cars, land off and on all day because I just love it and I may try to get our individual paid lighting lane because you can select the times now for at for nighttime time okay I think that's when you do it, because I really want to do it at night yes, but we're still going to try it first thing in the morning too, after our initial rides. But yeah, cars lane, just something about it.

Speaker 1:

I love it, you know, not just for the fact that it made ryan turn into like a three-year-old again, because those were his movies back then, but just they, they did it so well it's so good and I mean I'm looking forward you already mentioned, like pimp's test kitchen and stuff, but looking forward to spending a little time at avengers campus because there's always characters walking around, they're always acting out different shows and stuff at different parts of avengers campus and that's always something fun to see yeah, and we're gonna.

Speaker 2:

The one attraction we did not do last year, goofy Sky School. We're going to make it a priority this time. Yes, and I am really looking forward to our dinner. We're going to go to Lamplight Lounge. Yes, the food looks really good and the decor is like original Pixar sketchings for the movies and a lot of like trivia trivia, but like memorabilia.

Speaker 1:

I'm really looking forward to that yeah, I am too, you know, and the the lamp is supposed to be like the pixar lamp and everything, and so, yeah, looking forward to that menu's slightly different, but still looks good very good and uh, yeah, just you know, trying some new things. But going back to our favorites from when we were there last year, uh, we do want to ride soaring there as well. I know it's the same as in walt disney world at epcot, but the queue, the queue is great.

Speaker 1:

The queue in california adventure is just so much better. So I want to experience that. Um, I don't know yet for me, but I believe zach and the boys are going to try grizzly river run.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I'm definitely going to do it. Well, the great thing about staying in a resort literally right at the park is if we want, we can go up to the room and change.

Speaker 1:

Yes no-transcript. Then the nighttime show.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

Yes, Because that one I forgot the world of color.

Speaker 2:

World of color one.

Speaker 1:

It is amazing, amazing. So definitely looking forward to that. So that is the end of day two. So going on to day three is the original og disneyland disneyland.

Speaker 2:

We're gonna keep with the tradition. Here we're gonna rope drop early magic hours, space mountain. Do we do? We have to? No, but it's just oh it's become a thing.

Speaker 1:

You know, this is the only space mountain that I will you're gonna do it.

Speaker 2:

We're going to do Genie Plus here. Looking at wait times, I do not think we will need it, but we're going to get it to make sure that we do get everything in and take our time and really enjoy the park. That's going to be the main thing here really enjoying the park.

Speaker 1:

We're going to do all the dark rides, mr toad, probably not peter pan, no more. Just like snow white. Alice in wonderland, mr toads. Like the rides that we don't have on the east coast yeah you know um toontown.

Speaker 1:

I want to enjoy toontown once again, of course, mickey minnie's runaway railway which the queue there we're not going to get a lightning lane for this I want to take our time yes in it and really thoroughly see all the details that they put in, because we just walked through it so fast last year and they just I wish this queue was on the East Coast. Yeah, and then for you I know you want to probably do Roger Rabbit cartoon spin.

Speaker 2:

We'll see.

Speaker 1:

It's you know, in Toontown as well. Well, you love that movie. Yeah, we'll see in toontown as well. Well, you love that movie? Yeah, all right, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

Uh, and then this is something I really, really, really, really really want to do is breakfast or a snack at red rose tavern I think breakfast was good last time and I think we stick with that, and we found a little nook in the restaurant that you want to go sit in yes, it's bell's kitchen right.

Speaker 1:

Yes, yes, the detail in here, all the details for the theming of beauty and the beast, but especially certain rooms, are more designed towards certain rooms of of her home or characters. And so, looking forward to that, because love, sorry, love the movie, uh, definitely want to do big thunder mountain railroad here. You know hate to say it, but this one is so much better than walt disney world, although there's rumors that it's coming add the explosives and stuff in the tunnel um, here at walt disney world.

Speaker 1:

So, but for now, that's the main reason why I'm looking forward to this big thunder mountain railroad, and it's just, it seems, longer too it's the same okay and uh Pirates.

Speaker 2:

Pirates is what I think their attraction I'm looking forward to most, but again, I'm going to do all of them. Looking forward to Matterhorn, space Mountain, pirates. Uh, haunted Mansion will be down, so we won't be able to do that, right, but we're going to eat lunch at, probably, bengal Barbecue, and well, I don't know. See, I think we'll snack at Bangal Barbecue because we are not planning to have enough time in Hollywood Studios and you'll find out why in a little bit to do Galaxy's Edge. So we've made a reservation for Oget's Cantina here in Disneyland. I forgot, and we're going to get an individual lightning lane for Rise of Resistance and do Millennium Falcon. And I want to eat lunch at Docking Bay 7 here, because the menu here in Disneyland is a little different than it is in Hollywood Studios, right? So I think we eat lunch at Docking Bay 7. Okay.

Speaker 2:

And then we can definitely snack on bingo barbecuing and have a walk by it.

Speaker 1:

Or do like we did last year, depending if I do have time to catch the parade like like, bring you. Bring you the skewers because you got the skewers, brought it over to where I was and that was just ah, perfect for the parade and then we're gonna eat dinner jolly holiday, it's something about that grilled cheese and tomato soup.

Speaker 2:

I don't like tomato soup. I don't either there.

Speaker 1:

Oh my gosh it's like creamier and just I don't know. Maybe it's because you do so much walking. It's so good. I don't know, but it's so good.

Speaker 2:

So good.

Speaker 1:

And of course the fireworks there.

Speaker 2:

Yes, definitely do the fireworks Now.

Speaker 1:

That's when me and Nolan will head back to the room after.

Speaker 2:

Disneyland's open until midnight because it's a Saturday night, right, me and Ryan's going to stay, ryan's going to stay. Ryan's becoming like a little bit of a night owl now.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

And so we're going to stay all the way till midnight. Jungle Cruise at night in Disneyland. I'm sorry Disney World, but Disneyland Jungle Cruise is on a different level, especially after the fireworks. Those captains, they get a little unhinged. It's so funny. Big Thunder at night Maybe do, I don't know. But just we really want to spend time and take our time in the parks. We just like kind of just we're doing bullet points right now, Just try to get through.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but Nolan and I are going to go ahead and head back just because he gets. He's usually done right before fireworks. But I'm like I am seeing these fireworks one more time if it's going to be a few years. But while zach and ryan are having a blast still at the park, nolan and I will we'll kind of pack a little bit, relax, um, probably go ahead and go to sleep yeah, because next day is a long day, day four, which will be sunday, if you listen to this.

Speaker 2:

when it comes out, we are traveling nonstop from LAX to Orlando and it's going to be a long day. So, yeah, it's. It's going to be an early morning, long day, long night Well, not long night, but if everything's on time, it's going to be a long day flying nonstop into Orlando. Ryan's excited, so Ryan is going to. He's our adventurer, he likes aviation airplanes. He's excited about flying out of LAX.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

It's a big airport, lots of different unique airplanes. When we get to the Yacht Club I know y'all are going to go swimming. Obviously we got to go to Stormalong Bay.

Speaker 1:

Well, yeah, and the thing is, I mean you know the boys well, I mean all of us, but especially the boys. We're going to be on that plane for at least five hours.

Speaker 2:

It's about a five-and-a-half-hour flight, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and then the time change is going to mess with us a little bit too, because it's a three-hour difference between California and Orlando. So just definitely get checked into the room. Change, go ahead and get them in the pool, eat dinner at the pool again, you know, and just relax, you know. But Zach is going to actually step away for a few minutes while we go to the pool, and are you ready to talk about?

Speaker 2:

it. I'm good I can talk. Okay, yeah, I'm going to be popping into Epcot. That's one of the great things about having an annual pass is? I just want to say I've been in both parks in 24 hours.

Speaker 1:

Right, because y'all are leaving at midnight. We're leaving at midnight.

Speaker 2:

We'll get into Epcot Probably by the time, if anything's on time. We get there probably around 7, 30, eight o'clock before the fireworks. Just pop in, maybe, grab a snack or a drink or something, pop back out, come to the pool. Yeah, you know, there's something about being in Disneyland yesterday and now I'm in Epcot, right, like that's something. That's. That's pretty cool. Yeah, I think to me anyway.

Speaker 1:

Right, no, I get it. But yeah, I'll just be at the pool with the boys.

Speaker 2:

Get you something at Hurricane Hannah's? Yeah, for sure, after that long on an airplane.

Speaker 1:

I am not huge on on flying long distances, so I yeah, I will be having a beverage, I'm sure.

Speaker 2:

So if you want to try to do a coast-to-coast trip and be crazy like we are, you need to reach out to you, right?

Speaker 1:

I believe that would be our sponsor.

Speaker 2:

Speaker 2:

Speaker 1:

Speaker 2:

you get to go to the studios, you get to go to the archives and you get to go in Walt's apartment and you stay at the Grand Californian. Yeah, that'd be pretty good.

She's been sending us so much stuff like snacks and things to check out and we're like it's like overload, like she's so proud of it I thought you got it no, oh well, anyway, yeah.

Speaker 2:

So go check them out. Wwwmainstreettravelcocom. They're on instagram, facebook and youtube. And again, I say it every week, my favorite thing about them is these are full-time agents in an office. They're not a part-time agent sitting around or not a part-time agent that'll get back to you after their day job, right, they're in an office. Call them 1-800-593-1262, monday through Friday, 10 am 5 pm, central Time. Again, tell them we sent you. Take advantage of those special offers. Again, tell them we sent you Take advantage of those special offers. Save time, save stress, save some money. Potentially, they're going to get all those discounts for you. They don't even have to reach out to you, they're just going to do it on their own.

Speaker 1:

It's so easy, yeah, and she's really gotten to know us too, so that happens even a little more with us. But I mean, I don't even keep up with how many days out we are for making dining reservations, and a few days away from it, you know, she texts us or calls us and says, hey, are these still? You know what you're planning on doing. And it's like oh, yeah, it's that time. Ok, yeah, thank you. So, yeah, please go check them out.

Speaker 2:

So our next day, a week from today as we're recording this day five, is Epcot, and I'm not going to lie. I think I'm looking forward to Epcot more than anything else.

Speaker 1:

Which surprises me as much as you like Animal Kingdom.

Speaker 2:

It is no festival. Number one. Number two no test track. Would that be Okay? I love test track, don't get me wrong. We've done all the festivals except for the Christmas one. It's a distraction from what Epcot really is, I think.

Speaker 1:

Right Well yeah, in my opinion, and I mean, and it's one less thing that we have to worry about, because the boys love doing it and so they will definitely miss it, but it'll give us more time.

Speaker 2:

It'll give us more time. Yeah, and a great thing. At site entrance yeah, because where?

Speaker 1:

we're staying is the site entrance, and so we are still going to rope drop, but we're going to rope drop remi's. Yep, gotta rope drop remi's. Love, love, love, remi's, love. The france pavilion, just the music, everything, and then after that we'll, we'll, head on over to frozen. Yes, the boys are doing it for me.

Speaker 2:

I just want to see. That's all I care to see.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, so we're going. Those are the two rides we're going to do Remy's and then Frozen, so going from France to Norway Pavilion. Like Zach said, though, you know I'm looking forward to seeing Epcot without a festival to you.

Speaker 2:

I don't know if it's going to give us a chance to actually have snacks and meals that are always there. We don't eat them right, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So people like oh, this is my favorite snack in apcot. I'm like, wow, we haven't needed it, haven't had it yet.

Speaker 2:

Yeah so, but after rope dropping, well, while we're in norway, we plan to try the school bread we're gonna do the school bread and we, I think we're gonna maybe live stream that, maybe, maybe not sure where we're going to maybe live stream that, maybe.

Speaker 1:

Maybe Not sure where we're going to live stream from on the trip exactly yet, but but that's a possibility, you know. But we don't want to fill up too much because later we do have a lunch reservation in the Mexico pavilion.

Speaker 2:

At San and Helen.

Speaker 1:

Yes and then. But after that I think we just kind of want to take our time in a certain certain areas of Epcot on the other side.

Speaker 2:

We'll have plenty of time. Of course we've got to do Spaceship Earth, we have to do Living with the Lamb, we have to do Soarin', we've got to do Figment. Those are must-dos.

Speaker 1:

Yes.

Speaker 2:

And those usually don't take a whole lot of time to do.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, they usually don't, so we may do them even multiple times, who knows? It just depends on the crowds and how our day is going. I do want to go multiple times to the Moana attraction, especially since the boys haven't seen it yet, so I think it'd be great for them to see it during the day and then go back again at night. For sure, because I prefer it at night.

Speaker 2:

That's so beautiful. But it's beautiful both times of day.

Speaker 1:

At night it's a whole different, animal though it times, at night it's a whole different, yes, animal though it is so good. So, and then you know the walt statue area, that garden area there I can just hang out there, yeah, all day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, just bring me snacks and I'm just gonna chill and I really want to be there, depending on on how our day is, you know when. At that time, when you and I were there in february, when it just like dusk that's starting to get dark, and how they had, like the, the show on the I don't know what show they'll have now yeah, I don't know, but on spaceship, earth, like all the lights changing and the lights in that area in front of walt changed too, and the music's pumped in there and yeah, so it was just really nice.

Speaker 1:

Um, of course, zach and ryan, at some point in the day, are going to do guardians of the galaxy at some point we're going to do it three times.

Speaker 2:

We will be able to do it three times, all right.

Speaker 1:

Individual Lightning Lane Virtual Queue and since we're staying at a You've got to get Virtual Queue.

Speaker 2:

For Guardians? I can't, yeah, okay. Virtual Queue yeah. Individual Lightning Lane yes. And then this night, monday night, is the extra hours for deluxe resort guests, so that virtual queue opens at 6 pm and that runs from 9 to 11.

Speaker 1:

So we're going to write it three times okay, and what I meant by that is as long as you get a spot in the virtual queue. That's what I meant, but I know you've become a pro at it.

Speaker 2:

I'm giving you a look.

Speaker 1:

I know Better knock on wood. All right, love you.

Speaker 2:

Three times.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and then, of course, Zach's favorite ride some point in the day, as mentioned earlier, living with the land.

Speaker 2:

Multiple times.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, in Figment, all of that. I definitely want to take my time walking around in the aquarium area as well. That's just really relaxing for me. You know whether we ride the Nemo ride or not, I don't know, but just you know. I want to go through the queue, let's ride it Watching the dolphins and all the other like sea turtles and stuff. I just love that area.

Speaker 2:

You think I'll go through the queue. Right, I just want to go see the queue and like, can I just go to? Can you like, can you walk me through to the drop-off zone? Backstage? I don't want to do the ride, I just want to go through the queue.

Speaker 1:

The thing is, the ride is just a few minutes long, though.

Speaker 2:

If you don't get stuck on it, okay.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, then I think later that night we'll spend evening night. Take our time walking more throughout the World Showcase. Really want to take our time looking at the shops more, maybe you know, throughout the day sampling a bunch of different foods, yeah, yeah, and then dinner too at um regal oh, yes, we're.

Speaker 2:

I forgot about that. We're gonna do dinner at regal eagle smokehouse. Yes, what were we going to? I forgot what we were talking about.

Speaker 1:

Like the burger, the ribs. Yeah, I know, but we were going to live stream something else that's questionable food-wise.

Speaker 2:

Oh, it was Okay, we'll get to it. I know what we're going to talk about.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and then I think Zach and Ryan are going to stay for the fireworks show, nolan and I will probably go ahead and head back.

Speaker 2:

Yes, I could care less, but Ryan wants to see it. Yes, I could care less, but Ryan wants to see it, and we're staying until 11 o'clock anyway, so why not?

Speaker 1:

And this is one of those days too we're going to have neck fans and stuff a couple of them, but if anyone needs to head back to the room for a little while using that side entrance, we can do that and come and go as we please.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, sorry, so next day? This is when it's going to get tricky. This is day six, which will be Tuesday. We're park hopping Magic Kingdom in Hollywood Studios yes, we will be using Genie Plus for this, we have to, I think. And of course, early entry, rope drop. Got to do Space Mountain, just have to.

Speaker 1:

Well, you and the boys, I don't do space, mountain and in walt disney world, but I will be waiting with joffreys and donuts that sounds delicious, and then, while we're there, we're going to.

Speaker 2:

Probably so. We have a few priorities in the magic kingdom. One, number one we'll be trying to get an individual not an individual lightning lane, but a lightning lane or a virtual queue for tianas. Yes, this is a priority number one. Besides rope dropping, space Mountain will be Tiana's. Now, you're really looking forward to it. I'm not so much, because I don't want to go into it with high expectations.

Speaker 1:

I know. Well, here's the thing. So I have watched so many videos on it now and you know there are some of them have been people that have been excited about it happening, you know, opening up the whole time, and others were like going into it with negative expectations. Like you know, can't believe this is taking the place of splash mountain, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker 2:

And then when they got off the ride they were like that was actually really good so I'm not going into with a negative expectation, I'm just going into it with no expectations, right? I'm not like bitter that they got rid of splash mountain. I love splash mountain, but I understand things have to change and evolve and the parks are always changing, so I'm not mad about it.

Speaker 1:

I just don't want to go into it with tight expectations and be disappointed yeah, but I'm just saying you know people that I thought would still have negative comments after they were like wow you know, so but yes, uh, tiana's bayou adventure, something I really, really want to experience.

Speaker 2:

Hope we get to, like zach was saying, space mountain also people mover, you gotta do people people mover um haunted mansion since it's down in disneyland, we're making it a priority on top of like it's a must do yeah, and then pirates even though it won't be the same as disneyland I still love it yeah, it's just a lot shorter disney has not ruined Pirates for me here in Walt Disney World, right.

Speaker 1:

And it hasn't for me either, but it's just. It's going to be a little, I think, weird, maybe like just a couple days apart.

Speaker 2:

So I think the great thing is we're going to be able to really compare. We're not going to have like four or five months between trips like we did last year. Right, we're gonna have days. Yeah, so really compare. But I think it still holds up. It's still great, still great.

Speaker 1:

And so then we have a lunch reservation at skipper canteen, which I am so looking forward to you, and the boys are kind of like well, I'm looking forward to it, I'm I'm more like how are the boys gonna like it?

Speaker 2:

that's all, they're gonna love it. Yeah, they're gonna love it. And then after that we are park, hop into hollywood studios. Hopefully I will have stacked lightning lanes for tower of terror, rock and roller coaster, because rock and roller coaster is open. Opened early. We weren't expecting it and our wait times have been long, I think, just because it's new right but tower of terror, but back reopen yeah, rock and roller coaster, slinky dog.

Speaker 2:

Well, we're not getting a lightning lane for Slinky Dog Dash, because we're going to close on that, but for Toy Story, midway Mania. So those are the main big rides that we're going to hopefully do. What we were going to livestream is getting the peanut butter milkshake at 50s primetime.

Speaker 1:

That's what we were yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. So you know, and while Zach and Ryan are doing Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster, don't be surprised if Nolan and I end up doing Pew Pew or Toy Story. Midway Mania, or Toy Story Mania is what it's called here.

Speaker 2:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

Multiple times. That's just a thing me and him do when Zach and Ryan are off doing their own thing.

Speaker 2:

We're going to do it too, I know.

Speaker 1:

As a family, yeah, but like you're riding two other rides, he's got, we've got to find something else to do and he wants to do that.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, yeah, so that's what I'm saying. We'll do it multiple times, including with you and ryan, um and then. But again, it also depends. Sometimes that ride can have 30 minute wait and other times it's way long. So we'll see. And, uh, yeah, just have some snacks, you know, in the night. Slinky dog, if we have time, I'd love to catch the Frozen show it's always great. And Star Tours, I heard, I guess for a while they weren't like doing all the different versions of it.

Speaker 2:

They're back to normal now.

Speaker 1:

But they're back to doing that now, so you don't know which one you're going to get.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, and we did have dinner reservations for Sci-Fi Dining, but after sci-fi dine-in, but after we did our unique food items for hollywood studios.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we canceled that because we've eaten there yeah, and we want to try more. We're gonna eat at abc commissary, yep, and then just really enjoy walking around at night, and I, I feel like we haven't really gotten to experience it that way, the way we want to like. We're always like, oh wow, look at this at night, especially, uh, the two boulevards, um, yeah, so and I put maybe phantasmic, I don't know probably not I don't know, but for we're for ending the night with slinky dog, then we're not going to do phantasmic.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, sorry, we can watch it in disneyland. You can't do the fireworks, so you got to pick one or the other I know so tough.

Speaker 1:

I don't know. We'll see all right, all right, then, moving on day seven. This is where I thought this would be yes, yes, but it's.

Speaker 2:

It's like we're going to epcot for the first time again. That's how I'm looking at it. Day seven this is our last official like day. Yes, we're doing Animal Kingdom and then park hopping Magic Kingdom, because Animal Kingdom closes at 6 pm.

Speaker 1:

Does it still close at 6 pm, in the middle of summer?

Speaker 2:

Yes, I've checked the hours. It is 6 pm.

Speaker 1:

And that's so sad. Well, in the past, like a year or so ago, didn't it used to be like 7 in the summer?

Speaker 2:

Yes, yeah, but it's still showing six, it's not? Yeah, I'm gonna look it up right now.

Speaker 1:

Okay, well so, but while we're at animal kingdom, we're gonna stick to what we normally do and rope drop the safari, you know, because even though you still wait before, they let you walk through the queue to get to boarding. Um, that's just the way we like to start our day there.

Speaker 2:

Animal Kingdom Day.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I'm like so just because a lot of times earlier in the day or later in the day is when the animals are more active and every time you ride it it's a different experience. But we just like to start our day there and, instead of going to that cart that we usually get a breakfast sandwich from, we have reservations at Tusker House for the buffet breakfast buffet you're welcome, thank you.

Speaker 1:

Thank you because I absolutely loved the character dining here. Yes, I know it can be a little hectic and you're like, oh, should I get up now and get my plate? Oh, nope, but Mickey's almost here. Uh, like, I know that feeling kind of throws people off sometimes, but I love them and they're like safari outfits and the food it's your traditional breakfast view that you see at other disney buffets, but then they also have some different meats and a couple other dishes that are more like african dishes and stuff as well. And so after the safari it depends on what time we're done on the safari. If we have time before our reservation, then we may go ahead and walk the gorilla falls trail, because it's just right there.

Speaker 2:

If it's open.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but if not, then um, we'll head on over to Tusker house and then after that do the trails. Is it still showing 8?

Speaker 2:

am to 6 pm. Yep. Okay, I mean that it is, it's fine and it allows us to do what we've planned. But I just remember it in the summer, yeah, staying up and later, animal kingdom. We're just going to take our time. Do the trails, you know, I kind of want to wait a little bit longer for the gorilla trail, so the gorillas are actually up. I like the family.

Speaker 1:

Well, family, yeah well, but if so okay, so maybe we'll just wait until after breakfast.

Speaker 2:

Then yeah do it after breakfast, because when we do it early in the morning, the bachelors are out, but the families are not yet.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so we're going to do the jungle trek me and the boys expedition efforts, probably multiple times. Maybe Festival of the Lion King? This will probably be the last opportunity to do Dinosaur. Yeah, because I don't know when, as a family, we're going to be coming back yet. Right, I'll be back next month. Yeah, because I don't know when, as a family, we're going to be coming back yet. Right, I'll be back next month.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, but as a family and doing dinosaur, this will definitely probably be the last time. You know. I know permits and stuff have been filed to change everything up. We just don't know when that's going to start.

Speaker 2:

So rumors are swirling that at D23 in September, at the D23 Expo is when they're going to announce Timelines, all the stuff.

Speaker 1:

Okay and like official what's happening. Yep, all right, definitely at some point. Nomad Lounge Not just because we love the environment and everything, but we are truly, truly, truly going to compare Disneyland churros to Nomad Lounge churros. Are we going to FaceTime Just a few days apart, are we?

Speaker 2:

going to FaceTime Travel Planner Erica during that to rub it in her face.

Speaker 1:

We might do that.

Speaker 2:

We might do that. We're going to do Flight of Passage twice, we're going to individual pay lightning lane at one time and I think we end the day at Animal Kingdom with Flight of Passage.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, okay, so I think we do.

Speaker 2:

No Bad Lounge for lunch, and then I want to eat at.

Speaker 1:

Whoa, whoa, whoa whoa. I'm not going to be hungry at lunchtime after eating breakfast buffet, so it needs to be like a late late late lunch.

Speaker 2:

Well, that's why you just get the churros and have a drink.

Speaker 1:

Oh, okay.

Speaker 2:

We're not going to eat here. Okay, well, the way you say lunch, it makes me think like meal dinner before we get on to go to uh flight of passage, I'm gonna do the yak and yeti local.

Speaker 1:

oh yeah, because you want to do the that burger god, that's a lot of eating, okay it's animal kingdom, yeah, and we have the dining plan and there's so much good food, so much good food and, um, if we have time, wildlife express train train to Rafiki's Planet Watch. I don't know if we will or not, but that is something that Nolan and I, at least, really like to do. We really like drawing with the animators. He likes to save the drawings and put up in his room, and so, if we have time, that is something that.

Speaker 2:

I would like to do.

Speaker 1:

Because there's not a whole lot to do here.

Speaker 2:

It's a full day park. It's a half day park?

Speaker 1:

no, it is, it's a half day park there's more if, if we went to every single show and all that as well. Now, one thing I didn't put on here and I don't know if you and the boys are gonna do it or not. Are you gonna do the river rampage ride?

Speaker 2:

oh yes, I'm gonna do cali river rapids yes, because we haven't done it yet. Definitely going to do that, but no, it's a half-day park. You don't need to stay a full day here. Are you kidding me? Half-day park.

Speaker 1:

Oh, it's a full day, it's a half-day park. I'm just saying that, so people will leave and we can enjoy.

Speaker 2:

So I think there is enough time for us to sit around and relax about how our trip's been going. What do you think?

Speaker 1:

yeah, maybe.

Speaker 2:

I just I like to relax in that area, so we can relax, get a couple drinks and just walk around there and just talk. Okay, maybe we?

Speaker 1:

yeah, we will see all right all right and then, um then, we're probably park hopping for a little while.

Speaker 2:

Probably magic kingdom we are well, you and ryan for sure you want to see happily ever after. That's the only we're gonna going to use it.

Speaker 1:

I know, depends on our little one. All right, depends on our little one.

Speaker 2:

Animal Kingdom closes at 6. By the time we get in line and do Flight of Passage, it'll probably be like 6.30, 6.45. Get to Magic Kingdom probably around 8.30.

Speaker 1:

Gosh that's a long time.

Speaker 2:

Okay, you got to budget about an hour between parks okay, and okay, okay, budget it's usually don't take that long, but and ryan and I definitely I need to get a virtual queue for tron because this is our extended evening hours for the deluxe resorts this night for magic kingdom. So it's open till midnight for deluxe resort guests. So ryan and I definitely are going to do tron at night. I know you want to see.

Speaker 1:

Happily ever after I would like to, but again, I've seen it before. I absolutely love it as as a mom, though, when you have a child, that is absolutely done for the day. Sometimes, when it's something you've already seen, you just got to go ahead and head back, or maybe do Big Thunder Mountain at night.

Speaker 2:

I don't know. Me and Ryan are definitely going to do it. I have not seen if Tiana's is open for this or not.

Speaker 1:

Oh.

Speaker 2:

Everything okay.

Speaker 1:

Yep, yep, keep talking.

Speaker 2:

I have not seen that. If you go to the website, they have not updated it yet because they still have Test Track on there. To the website they have not updated yet because they still have test track on there available for epcot for the extended hours, right, so they didn't. So they haven't updated it yet, so we'll see, maybe a good. Well, we can't do two virtual queues at the same time. That's the problem, because we're not going to get lightning wing for this day.

Speaker 1:

So okay, all right, we'll figure it out moving on moving on.

Speaker 2:

Day eight typhoon lagoon we have not done a water park yet. We're looking forward to this. We're going to do breakfast first, though, at cape may cafe in the beach club. Yes, you're welcome again thank you.

Speaker 1:

It's another character dining, but we also just want to experience cape, may we've we've heard it's great, it's a good uh character dining experience. Now you and ryan may not be feeling too great for it, since you're staying late.

Speaker 2:

I have reservations, a little bit later.

Speaker 1:

Okay, but yes, so we're going to enjoy eating, kind of take our time, even after eating, to head to Typhoon Lagoon, because I mean we're there all day.

Speaker 2:

Closes at 8, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I don't know, I don't think we're going to stay until 8, but you know it's not like a rush rush. We got to get it in in just a few hours, kind of thing. So now for me, at Typhoon Lagoon, I really just I think at this point in the trip this is day eight.

Speaker 1:

I will probably be like y'all go, do all the water slides and rides and stuff. I'm probably just going to be chilling in the lazy river and the wave pool and you know, leaning back on some chairs and things like that, but they do have crushing gusher and other water slides.

Speaker 2:

I don't know the names of them okay.

Speaker 1:

Well, the crushing gusher is like that ride. It's a water coaster, yeah sorry, you were pointing out like for you to keep talking it's so it's a water coaster.

Speaker 2:

We've never done anything like that before. The boys are excited about it, I'm excited about it. They have a lot of water slides, lazy river, wave pool.

Speaker 1:

It's gonna be a good, chill, relaxing day, you know yeah, I went and then they have a couple of, you know, restaurants here. Eat, uh, so possibly eat at leaning palms or typhoon tills tillies for late lunch, early dinner, you know, and they have your typical like theme park food, but then one of them and I forget which one, I think leaning palms, but I, but then one of them, and I forget which one, I think Leaning Palms, but I could be wrong. One of them has a broader menu as well, for like bowls, rice bowls and stuff like that. Just relax, maybe have some ice cream, you know. So that is our Typhoon Lagoon day and then the next day day nine.

Speaker 2:

I'm going to go see Yeehaw Bob after this.

Speaker 1:

Oh, that's right.

Speaker 2:

Got to see Yeehaw Bob.

Speaker 1:

So me and the boys will head back to the resort. Zach's going to hop on over to Port Orleans Riverside. See Yeehaw Bob Don't know how late he'll return.

Speaker 2:

Got to see Yeehaw Bob. It's probably around 11 o'clock, it's not that late it's not.

Speaker 1:

I can see you staying longer.

Speaker 2:

He ends at 11. What am I going to do? Just hang out in the bar by myself.

Speaker 1:

I thought he went on later. Sorry, no, okay.

Speaker 2:

This show is over at 11 and he's done.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so anyway, and you may just stay a little while anyway, just because you've been outside for so many days at that point.

Speaker 2:

No, okay, enjoy, I'm going to go to Disney Springs. It's like 2 o'clock in the morning, all right.

Speaker 1:

So next day, day nine, this is the day we return home but we're not returning home until later in the evening or night, so this is a pool day.

Speaker 2:

Finally, well, yes, full pool day at Stormalong Bay. Got to have it. We purposely did this as the last day because we're because we're doing so much go, go, go during the trip.

Speaker 1:

We wanted to end it with the water park and then the pool day yeah, nice and chill, relaxing, yeah, so go to the pool for a little bit, then we have lunch at beaches and cream soda shop, which is also located at beach club yes, it's like known for the.

Speaker 2:

What do they call it? The kitchen sink? Yes, I would not, that looks just disgusting. It's like known for the. What do they call it? The kitchen sink? Yes, I would not.

Speaker 1:

That looks just disgusting it's like all these different ice creams and stuff, so we're not getting that it just looks like a melted blob of ice cream soup and that just looks disgusting to me. Yeah, we're not getting it yeah, because once it's just all starts melting together, yeah but no, we're going there to actually like eat food, food yeah.

Speaker 2:

Are they really known for their food? No, but you know, I think we're staying here at Yacht Club close to it. Might as well eat lunch here, right? Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 1:

So, yeah, so, going there experiencing it. You know we'll do a dining review on it later. All that good stuff. Go back to the pool for a little bit, relax and then it off to the airport in a very late flight home.

Speaker 2:

I'm probably going to go to Disney Springs to get something for our dog sitters. Oh, okay, because the people that dog sit for us, they don't want to be paid for anything, so we gift them souvenirs when we're on trips, right, yeah? So I've been told one of them likes really, really good cookies. Oh, so you got to. I I mean, where do you gotta go? You gotta go to gideon's and get some cookies.

Speaker 1:

And they do travel decently well too yeah, so that's why you're waiting until the the day.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so I may go to get run over to gideon's real quick and come back. So okay, yeah, and then coming back late that night. What are you looking forward to the most? Your eyes just got?

Speaker 1:

Talking about that night. The whole trip oh okay, that's why I was like what are?

Speaker 2:

you asking me the whole trip Like what are you looking forward to the most?

Speaker 1:

Oh goodness, I don't know, because you know, I mean we love it all and all the parks in their own ways, and everything I don't know. Let me break it down to California and Florida. So California, honestly, probably getting to stay at Disney's California adventure, and then I just really love Cars Land.

Speaker 2:

Cars Land Okay.

Speaker 1:

So, and then in Walt Disney World, you know getting to experience, you know the yacht club area, the pool, but then I don't know. I'm kind of like you. Just how's epcot going to be without a festival like?

Speaker 2:

I'm so looking forward to really truly experiencing epcot.

Speaker 1:

Um yeah, epcot. And then I don't know, I'm thinking those nomad lounge churros erica yeah, yeah, I'm looking forward.

Speaker 2:

I'm really looking forward to going back to disneyland and now that we've done most of the rides there, we know what we want to do, what we don't want to do, right, having a lot more time to just really enjoy the park and look at more of the little history historical right because, like the, like the main street area, really honestly, to tell you the truth, is just kind of like a blur to me because we were trying to just get all the rides in.

Speaker 1:

Yes, you know so.

Speaker 2:

And that's why I wanted to get GD Plus, even though I don't think we're going to need it, but just so we will have that time Right and I'm really looking forward to comparing some of the same rides instead of having months apart like within days.

Speaker 1:

Right.

Speaker 2:

I'm looking forward to that and, just you know, I think this may be the biggest vacation we've ever taken as a family. Maybe I'm really looking forward to it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah.

Speaker 2:

And just yeah, it's going to be a great trip. I really am yeah. I'm going to be at Epcot, with no festival, and really taking our time. I think is going to be great. Just going coast to coast with the families is going to be great, and just taking our time and doing things we haven't done before, I think it's going to be really, really good.

Speaker 1:

Oh yeah, I agree, I agree.

Speaker 2:

All right, anything else you want to say?

Speaker 1:

No, I think that's it All right, disney trivia this week.

Speaker 2:

So we're flying coast to coast, right? Try to think of something that was related to that. What was the nickname of Walt Disney's plane?

Speaker 1:

I had no idea.

Speaker 2:

So from a D23 article I read, they referred to it as the mouse. This week's winner from X, sweeney, got pretty close, so I'll give him credit for it. He said Mickey Mouse won the Mouse. So yeah, so congratulations, sweeney, you are this week's winner. Now we're going to be traveling the next two weeks, next two Thursdays. So the next two Thursdays, including this week, if you listen to it when it comes out on Wednesday, the next day I'm going to do a live Disney trivia either from downtown Disney or the Grand Californian, and then the next Thursday we'll be at Typhoon Lagoon. So I'm going to do a live Disney trivia from Typhoon Lagoon.

Speaker 1:

Okay. On here you had put Animal Kingdom.

Speaker 2:

Yes, and we'll also do a live episode, podcast episode from Animal Kingdom next Wednesday.

Speaker 1:

Like you were saying earlier. Well, it will be live.

Speaker 2:

We'll record it and then I'll upload it pretty quickly, right? What do you think? So we'll have an episode next week, all right?

Speaker 1:

You're going to upload it from the park.

Speaker 2:

I can do it from the phone. Okay, technology it's pretty cool. All right, it won't be. The audio is not going to be near as good. And give you a heads up, the audio won't be nearly what it is right now. Just it'll be cheap microphones, but yeah.
