John Hadden

(RE-UPLOAD, RECORDED LATE DEC 2022 & PUBLISHED IN JAN 2023)

The chief suspect for the still unsolved 1996 murder of Sophie Toscan Du Plantier, Ian Bailey has died form a heart-attack. I spoke to Ian almost exactly a year ago in what was, I'm fairly sure, his second last long format interview and his last video long format interview. (Video version available on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZqPD3yV1uA)

To this day Ian Bailey remains the only person who has asked me to interview him (although I was going to ask anyway)

For this episode I spoke to Ian Bailey. Ian moved to West Cork (Ireland) years before the 1996 murder of Sophie Toscan Du Plantier, an incident which later became subject of a 3 part Netflix series

Ian spoke to me about his memories from the time of the murder and the subsequent years of his life as Gardai pursued him as their prime suspect, his own theories regarding the killing, his reaction to the Netflix documentary and Audible series

**APOLOGIES FOR ANY BAD-QUALITY AUDIO CAUSED BY POOR INTERNET CONNECTION**

12:35 How well did Ian know Sophie (murder victim) ??
16:20 Finding out that he was the police’s (Gardai) prime suspect & treatment by Gardai
