Yeah, it was nuts.Yeah, it was nuts.Every single even breakfast, evenEvery single even breakfast, evenbreakfast was the full spread on a lazySusan that had 20 people at the table.It was insane. But one of them, we wentto that restaurant and they were theykept making a big deal about the factthey had like, oh, thisis I remember what it was.I remember what it was.Was it like a baby baby chicken?chicken duck, baby duck?Duck baby duck. Yeah, they made a bigdeal about this dish that they had.And it was like, it's baby duck. It'sbaby duck. It's great.And then I like lifted up my Coke can andI'm like, can I get a baby Coke?Like, I just get a baby Coke that likey'all are about babies here.And that's like the humor that you and Ihave always kind of had.And like I remember you were dying andthen I was fucking dying.then I was fucking dying.And we the other the other story I haveis that like, who was it that was in ourgroup that just hadenough of the lazy Susan food?And we actually went out and just triedto find. Oh, it was it wasChung, us and Chung Chung.Yeah, Chung was the one that was like, Ican't do it anymore.I need to find. I just need sushi.Yeah, or like American food or something.And we end up like going out on like anAnd we end up like going out on like anexcursion is the best way I can put it.And we found a 7-Eleven and this dude wasjust so happy to drinka icy. Oh my God. Yeah.Oh, my God. Yeah.I was like, you know, live it, bro. Like,I love it. That's great.You know, because we all need thoseYou know, because we all need thosecomforts, like, which is funny because itparallels with other people in our space.parallels with other people in our space.Like the first time I met Mr. Mobile,Michael Fisher was in IFA.Michael Fisher was in IFA.And I met him at a Starbucks because hehad gotten sick of all the German foodthat he neededsomething that was familiar.something that was familiar.So he goes straight to Starbucks and he'slike, give me a caramelfrappuccino right now.frappuccino right now.And I'm like, yeah, I mean, we we wetravel. We travel a lotor we did travel a lot.And yeah, we got to experience new typesof experiences with new people.of experiences with new people.And like it just yeah, it was a greattime. And that China trip was the firstof a fair amount,honestly, like moving forward.And we haven't I've been fortunate enoughthis past year to go back to China onetime because I'm like theonly one with a visa still.only one with a visa still.And right. Right.And right. And and it was it was a goodtime. It was good to be able to go back.I wonder when we're going to have anotherlike many of us go to China again becauseI don't think we've donethat since around that time.that since around that time.I don't know. I guess it's going todepend on which Chinese maker is going tomake it big in the U.S. again.But I don't know. Maybe. I feel you on thatbecause like I get I getthat way too sometimes.So then and then you like you get to knowyour community a little bitbecause you know, like this Chipotle isgood because like theythey give you a good amount.So this story is Ohiowoman assaults Chipotle workerand sentenced to work atfast food for two months.I remember hearing about this one.OK, was it because of the portion?Did they actually confirm that?So they didn't confirm it.But based on what she said in court,I kind of think it might have beenbecause of the portions.First of all, fucked up that that personlike mad about a fucking bowl.But you saw the clip, right?Like she like straightup threw it at the yeah.up threw it at the yeah.Person. Yeah, she threw it from likePerson. Yeah, she threw it from likeliterally speaking distance from her,literally speaking distance from her likeright into her face.face like that's traumatic.Like that's traumatic.face like that's traumatic.But so here's the story.Ohio woman named Rosemary Hane.OK, she was fined andShe was fined andsentenced to 180 days in jailbecause she assaulted this Chipotleworker by throwing her bowl at her.The video went viral onThe video went viral on Reddit, andthat's kind of like that'skind of where it blew up.that's kind of where it blew up.And that's when everyone was talkingAnd that's when everyone was talkingabout like the woman. Right.about like the woman. Right.And so here's what the judge says incourt at her sentencing.I don't know. Timothy Gilligan.I don't know. Timothy Gilligan.Timothy Gilligan, he says, you didn't getyour burrito bowl the way you like it.And this is how you respond.And this is how you respond.This is not RealThis is not RealHousewives of Parma, Ohio.This behavior is not acceptable.And, you know, in court,And, you know, in court, the woman Hane,she's, you know, remorseful, apologetic.39 years old, apologetic.She's like, you know, I had a bad day.I wish I didn't do that.I wish I didn't do that.But then she says in court back to thejudge after he says that,if I showed you how my food looked andhow my food looked a week laterfrom that samerestaurant, it's disgusting looking.So she was disgusted.The judge responds, I bet you won't beThe judge responds, I bet you won't behappy with the foodyou're going to get in jail.you're going to get in jail.Like try throwing trythrowing your what do you what?The slop that you get in jail at yourlike guard and see what happens there.So the judge.The judge. Sentenced, you know, the 180days, six months in jail.But he said that she can shave off 60days of that sentenceif she agrees to work 20hours a week at a fast food job.Do you want to walk in her shoes for twomonths and learn howpeople should treat people?Or do you want to do your jail time?I'd like to walk in her shoes.So she accepts afterwards,the victim, Emily Russell,Russell, the 26 year oldthe 26 year old employee, 26.employee, 26, 26 year old employee.She she quit shortly after the end.She she quit shortly after the end.She quit shortly after the end.She she quit shortly after the end.The whole thing happened.The whole thing happened.She was traumatized naturally, likeespecially after going viraland being interviewed on the news, Iwould have quit, too.Like that was that's too much attentionof like having aChipotle bowl thrown at you.That's a lot. Yeah, that's what you'regoing to be known for.And one of the interviews, sheAnd one of the interviews, shesaid that she's glad that herassaulter didn't get a slap on the wrist.and she was kind of like, you know,And she was kind of like, you know, nowshe's going to see the workit takes to work incustomer service at a restaurant.service at a restaurant.And then the end of the story is thatsomeone started aGoFundMe account for herand it raised over ten thousand dollars.and it raised over ten thousand dollars.and it raised over ten thousand dollars.Now, I'm glad that you clarified becausethere are some people who are reportingon the story saying that shedidn't get the jail sentencesentence and only had to go work at aand only had to go work at a fast foodrestaurant for two months.In reality, she got both.In reality, she got both.So she got four months.So she got both fourmonths. Yeah, she's getting four.She got fined four months in jail and shehas to work at a fast food restaurantfor two months.restaurant for two months.I think it would have been even better ifEmily Russell still worked at thatChipotle and they made herwork at that same Chipotle.Oh, I would have quit right then andthere if I was Emily.If she had to come back and work with me,If she had to come back and work with me,I would have been like,I would have been like, peace, I'm out.peace, I'm out. Like Iwould not have stayed.Like I would not say if I was EmilyIf I was Emily Russell, like a 26 yearold being able toboss around a 39 year oldboss around a 39 year oldwho like assaulted you like that's somejust desserts right there.Like, OK, I'd be pettyas hell with that person.OK, that that in thatdynamic, then I agree.If I had to manage her like my assaulterIf I had to manage herlike my assaulter and be like,and be like, what arewhat are you going to do now?You want me to call thejudge? Like like she's just saying likepeople don't know how to acceptaccept that this thing,that you can't havethis thing at this moment.you can't have this thing at this moment.And and when you don't know how to acceptit, you don't know how to process that.you get angry and youYou get angry and you start throwingthings and that's what they learn.Maybe as kids, they don't know how tocommunicate their feelings.We just give people too much choice.or how to process them.We give people way too much choice.We give people way too much choice.Like you ever see those people who go toStarbucks and they're like,I want a caramel macchiato with and thenthey list off like 10 different things.like 10 different things.And then at the end,And then at the end, they have the gallto put the term upside down.put there,and they were telling me the storyand they were telling me the storyabout how they gotall their stuff jacked,because you wouldn't thinkbecause you wouldn't thinkthis would happen in Berlin.Like this is a storyThis is a story you thinkwould happen in San Francisco,in San Francisco where they rented a car,where they rented a car,they had all of their stuff in there,and they were just like,they don't know if I love this anymore.I don't know if I love this anymore.Or like, I know I'm good at it.And I know that I'm capable of it,but this has been a year, like I said,But this has been a year, like I said,at the beginning, at the top of the show,at the top of theshow, this has been a yearwhere I focused more on mylife than I have on my work.And my life is way better.And my life is way better.Like I'm doing well.I feel fulfilled in a lot ofways when it comes to my life.And then my work has justbeen my work and that's okay.There's nothing wrong with it.It's just, I want to get back to a placein this upcoming year where I'm actuallyloving my work again.And if that means I have to focus on itmore than I focus on mylife, that's okay too,because I have spent 2023making sure my life is good.My life is okay.- Good on you.- Yeah.be that I might have theroom to be able to do thatand by focusing on my workso that my life can still thrive.That might mean I make alittle bit less money, that's fine.That might mean thatlike my internet presencemight not be quite asprominent as it was in the past,but you know what, that's all okaybecause balancingmeans that you don't getliterally everything in either end.- Yeah, I agree.And you know, on a personal level,And you know, on a personal level,like I know you've beenthrough a lot this yearand taking time to focus on yourselfand on your personalstuff is a lot of work.And I'm glad that you'reon the other side of it now.And I'm excited to see what's next.- Same for you too.Like whatever it means foryou to be back in this realm,like we are going to have the biggest,we're not gonna be hung over it the nextday at the checkout,but whatever the next event isthat you and I are actuallyat that same place together,there back,you were so good at it.And I'm just like,and I'm still trying to figure it out.And that's the thing is like, I'm stillfiguring out my voice.I'm still figuring out myformat and what I want from this.You made me realize that this is,that I'm on the right track.- Yeah, I think so.And you know, it'll be greatto see where all of that leadsbecause as we as a group, andI'm talking about tech creatorsand content creators and whatnot,there's nothing that werespect more than seeingone of our own forge their own path.And I'm excited to see where yours goes.- I appreciate that.- I appreciate
