100th Episode
David Gwyn: [00:00:00] Okay, okay. So here's the deal. Today is a special day.
This is my 100th podcast episode. First and foremost, I just want to say a huge thank you to all of you, whether you've been with me from the beginning with Writerly Lifestyle or you just discovered the podcast recently. Your support means the world to me.
It's the thing that makes me continue doing this podcast at all.
And it wouldn't be what it is without you. And I'm incredibly grateful for every listen, every download, every piece of feedback and every reading and review that you've all shared.
It's been such a fun ride. Huge shout out to all my guests. They've been the ones who have helped me build this Thriller 101 community. And as we celebrate this milestone, I want to share some exciting news about what's coming next. After analyzing the data and reflecting on what episodes you all enjoyed the most, I really want to change the format a little bit to make it into something you'll enjoy even [00:01:00] more.
I've decided to make a few changes for season number two and I wanted to share some of those here in my 100th episode. I want to ensure you that the content Thriller 101 provides is going to continue to resonate with you and help you on your writing journey. And the shift here is really just analyzing what you are all interested in and what you've responded to and giving you more of that.
So here's what you can expect in the new season, more in-depth writing tips. I want to spend more time digging into the teaching of specific areas where we can improve as writers. My episodes often touch on things like voice and setting and character and plot, but it's really hard in an interview to get into specific areas of focus.
And so, this next season, it might mean less interviews, but more time of me sharing practical and actionable advice that you can take with you into your own writing for that day. , I really just want to share my process, and then you can take what you want from that.[00:02:00]
The other thing that I really want to do more of are agent interviews. By looking at the data, you loved the interviews with the literary agents. To be transparent, my top 10 episodes of all time, eight of them are with literary agents. So I'm planning on even more interviews with agents, reaching out to some starting soon.
Expect more comprehensive discussions covering not just their process,. but also their strategies for success in the publishing world, things that will help you on your journey. But that's not all. I'm doing one more thing with this new season of Thriller 101 that I think is really important to share.
I'm stepping into a slightly new role, one where I can offer more direct support and guidance to help you achieve your writing goals. I want to be there with you every step of the way, helping you navigate the ups and downs of the writing process. So, what is that going to look like?
I'm not exactly sure. I want you to tell me. So, expect to see some outreach through the Thriller 101 newsletter. If you [00:03:00] haven't signed up yet, there's a link in the description to do so. Because to kick off this new chapter, I really want to launch some exciting new content and resources, but I also want to be more involved with you, and I want to help you
achieve your publishing goals. So, there's going to be more ways for us to connect, and for you to get the support you need because publishing can be a tough business. I also want to help bring this community together in some new ways because, if you're anything like me
Twitter just ain't cutting it anymore. So the best way for you to stay in the loop and be first in line for the new stuff, if any of that sounds interesting to you, is to sign up for the newsletter linked in the description of this episode.
By joining the newsletter, you'll get exclusive updates, early access to new content, and special offers that I won't be sharing anywhere else. The last thing I want to say is that I'm really proud of the community we've built here together and I'm thrilled about what's ahead.
And I can't wait to continue this publishing journey with you. Every time I hear from a listener of the podcast who gets an agent or signs a [00:04:00] contract,
I feel so proud to be just a small part of that journey and together we're going to do a lot more. So. Be on the lookout for new episodes, sign up for the newsletter, and let's make season two even more incredible than the first. Next week you'll hear from Lisa Kusel.
But I'm also going to share, I guess it's a conspiracy theory, but it's really more theory than conspiracy. I'm not sure you'll need a tinfoil hat, but who knows? You're not going to want to miss that next week, so if you haven't subscribed to the podcast, please do so, and Thanks again to everyone who's been listening, happy 100 episodes, here's to 100 more, I'll see you next week.
