#151 God and Money

As a pastor's kid, Sarah Groen was well acquainted with discussions of tithing in the church. But is it possible that God desires more from us than just to tithe 10% of our income and do what we will with the rest?

Worldliness, greed, selfishness, and motivations outside of God's individual plan for us can actually keep us bound in our financial life. For some reason, money is an area of life that can be so difficult to surrender in our hearts. Everything under our stewardship belongs to God. We are the managers, rather than the owners, of all God-given gifts.

Our financial life is important to God. He wants so much for us in our financial lives, so much more than our striving can accomplish! Jesus desires freedom for us, in all senses of the word.
