Welcome to episode 11 of the Playticity podcast. Today I speak with Kizzann Sammy.

Kizzann Sammy is a senior development consultant with nearly 20 years of experience in international development. Kizzann works on projects related to economics, sustainable finance, gender equality, livelihoods, climate change, innovation, government and policy, and disaster-risk management.  Her background in linguistics and knowledge management allows her to engage effectively in cross-cultural communication and collaboration, and she has more than 15 years of experience working within hybrid (remote and in-person) teams.  Kizzann has experience in Latin America and the Caribbean, Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Sub-Saharan Africa, and currently lives in Calgary, Alberta.

Kizzann has been a mentor of sorts for me as well. Her encouragement and experience in strategy was a huge reason I was able to get Playticity off the ground.

In this conversation we talk about:

Cultural standards, how to find real connection in a society that makes it increasingly difficult to, reducing suffering vs striving for happiness, how Kizzann has cultivated active listening skills and being other focused from a young age.

Enjoy!
