10 Actions to Take Right Now to Set Yourself Up for Success in 2023
If you’re anything like me, you are taking time right now to plan for the year ahead. That can feel daunting, so here are some actions I’m taking to make sure my year goes well. This week, episode 95 of The Jen Marples Show is about ten actions to set yourself up for success in 2023!
Here are those ten actions:
- Make a list. Make a list of what you accomplished last year – write it all down – and have gratitude right now for all that’s in your life.
- Create healthy habits. In midlife, we must put health first, or it all falls apart.
- Check in on your health and mental health. Accept that life is beautiful and hard at the same time. Make those appointments and important checkups (mammogram, colonoscopy, skin check, pap smear, etc.), and don’t delay!
- Visualize what you want for this year and how you want this year to look and feel. Go back to ep. 23 for some broader tips to help you.
- Pick a word for the year. It’s fun! Mine is disrupt. Last year was dominate. It sets the tone for the year and is something you can return to.
- Start your days calmly. Take time for yourself at the start of the day. Don’t reach for the phone! It sets you up for you to attack your day versus your day attacking you.
- Clean out the clutter. House/office/closets/handbags/wallets – let the energy flow freely. Do Feng Shui if you need it.
- Journal. Shoot for five days/week. This is the best way to process thoughts, emotions, ideas, frustrations, and breakthroughs. Aim for 5-10 minutes daily.
- Realize you are responsible for your life. Only you can make it happen, nobody else. That’s the good news. YOU can make changes!
- Have courage. Take action and tell fear to take a backseat. Don’t overthink or ask anyone’s opinion. You’ve got something you want to do, so just do it! It doesn’t have to mean anything.
