Victor

Welcome to a special Roundtable Conversation tonight where we will be talking about How Black Athletes Could Upset March Madness and End Attacks on D.E.I. Cathy and I are glad to join you all for this special episode. We have some guests along for the ride as well tonight. Our Uncle Bob, who is a regular listener and frequently sends us email question and comments. Also Our Uncle Michael who is a big sports fan and an awesome Uncle. We also have our Cousin Corey who was a former professional football player and Student Athlete as well.

We start the discussion off talking about all the money the NCAA will be making throughout March Madness. Also we throw out some statistics from Colleges all across the country from 2018.  So the African American student athlete has a lot of power if they decide to take a stand for D.E.I. and how important is is for everyone.

Word around The University of Florida a couple of weeks ago is Administrators sent an email out announcing the elimination of D.E.I. They are also telling any athlete who plans to go to U. of F to take their talents to another school who still has D.E.I.

Are African American Athletes prepared to do something like make a public stance for D.E.I. while this tournament is still going on? What type of public stance could they do? Do these young athletes know about Colin Kaepernick and the sacrifice he made when he took a public stance on Equality? Unlike the Kaepernick situation could these athletes all unite to do something to make an impact on the  situation? Is it already to deep into the tournament for anything to even matter at this point?

Why is D.E.I. important not just in schools but also in the work place? Please enjoy this special episode of 50Talk and if you have any comments or want to add anything to it please send us an email at victor50talk@gmail.com

Thank you for listening.
