The Football Letter Podcast: Memories Of The 1994 Penn State Football Team / Homecoming Preview

Penn State Alumni Association

This week’s episode of The Football Letter Podcast features Penn Stater magazine editor, Ryan Jones ’95, and volunteer leader Kelly Gibson Caplan ’91.

With Penn State honoring the 1994 team during Saturday’s Homecoming game against Illinois, Jones discusses the comprehensive oral history he authored in 2014, “The Legends of ’94,” the definitive story of the 1994 Penn State football team that finished 12-0, won the Big Ten Conference and Rose Bowl, and finished No. 2 in the national rankings.

Caplan discusses the importance of the Alumni Association’s role during Homecoming and shares her thoughts on the Homecoming Parade, which she’ll judge once again this year.

Also, Football Letter Editor Emeritus John Black ’62 reads from The Letter he wrote following Penn State's iconic comeback against Illinois in 1994, when the Nittany Lions trailed 21-0 in the first quarter and came back to win 35-31.
