Keara and Dave

We talk with Dana O'Driscoll who currently serves as the Grand Archdruid of the AODA and is an Ollave Adept. Her Druid Adept project explored connections between permaculture and druidry and we discuss using natural materials for a variety of projects. Complimentary OBOD studies, family traditions and land healing are also touched on in our conversation with Dana.

AODA’s podcast focuses on exploring the many aspects of modern druidry through interviewing druids from many walks of life. By hearing each other’s stories and sharing about our paths, we are able to understand and document how diverse modern druid practices are.  By sharing the stories of various AODA druids, we can all come to a deeper understanding of our living tradition, build our tradition in new ways, and explore how our values and practices allow for meaningful connection with nature.

Dana O’Driscoll spent most of her childhood in the wooded hills of the Laurel Highlands region of Pennsylvania, making mud pies, building brush cabins, and eating berries. Thankfully, little has changed, and she can still be found practicing permaculture, wildcrafting, and natural arts and is often covered with paint, dirt, or both. She is a certified permaculture designer and teacher. Dana currently serves as the Grand Archdruid of the AODA and is an Ollave Adept. She is also a Druid-grade graduate of the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids and served as the 2018 OBOD Mount Haemus scholar. Her Druid Adept project explored connections between permaculture and druidry, the end result of which was published as Sacred Actions: Living the Wheel of the Year Through Earth-Centered Sustainable Practices in 2021. She is also the author and illustrator of the Tarot of Trees, Plant Spirit Oracle, and TreeLore Oracle. Her writings on druidry and permaculture can be found at The Druid’s Garden.
