This episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast is packed with insights and anecdotes from our recent rounds, including a memorable golf outing with Mike from Beautiful Golf Courses at Paiute. We've got you covered with a deep dive into Matt’s transformations courtesy of Austin Nutt at the Evergreen Golf Club in Seattle, where he’s been critical to Matt’s progress, especially with his impressive improvements in his irons and wedges game. We also tackle sun protection and the quest for Matt’s better driving distance, with notable advice from Austin. Plus, hear about the trend of restoring classic golf courses to their original design, with a spotlight on the Detroit Golf Club’s upcoming renovations to return to Donald Ross’s intentions.

As we gear up for the Paiute tournament under extreme heat conditions, we'll share essential tips for staying hydrated and safe, as well as our strategies for playing the Wolf Course in the Vegas Golf Network tournament for the first time. Speaker 2:

Thank you. What is up everybody? Welcome to another episode of the Chasing Daylight Podcast. I'm having some minor technical difficulties trying to get the Instagram going, so bear with me as I try to make that happen. It's being a little punk right now.

Speaker 1:

A little punk ass. It's being a little punk ass.

Speaker 2:

Punk ass bitch. Not sure why it's not working, but we'll try it again and see what happens. Go pick a little that See what happened was how you felt was doing this evening Pretty good. I'm hoping for a little bit more than that. Why do this?

Speaker 1:

Yeah, we're doing good. We kind of missed out on on the five iron league tonight. We played pretty well but you know, came up a couple of shots short. I don't know, there's funky stuff going on over there in New.

Speaker 3:

Tonight we played pretty well, but uh, you know, came up a couple of shots short. I don't know, I think there's funky stuff going on over there in New York. We'll see. I'm holding up, I'm holding out hope You're right, but we'll see.

Speaker 1:

you know, something's definitely, you know, a little fishy, but uh all, all right way to go, so we're good.

Speaker 2:

Sorry about welcome instagram. Welcome instagram fam. For all those of you not tuning in, oh, there's joe with his audio. So do you? Do you honestly think something's going on? Like or because it's seen, it just seems like it's so convenient that the East Coast teams always know what they need to shoot. No, we always know what we need to shoot, I know but they always win, and it seems like it's always by one or two strokes. It's never, it's always just enough.

Speaker 3:

I don't know. I don't know. I mean, they played solidly. They put their score in that. I don't think it was a stretch to get to where they got to on the scoreboard, Like we had a chance to get to where they were. I think the fishy thing is is, you know, we were playing hole 18 and then the last three holes disappeared of their scores playing hole 18 and then the last three holes disappeared of their scores.

Speaker 3:

So that's where I don't. I don't think where they, where they scored, was impossible to get to. I we had a shot at. We had a shot at 11 under for sure, like we had three holes left and we were like six under. I mean we definitely could have got there. It was three ball, best ball out of four, so definitely doable, but it was just. It's just weird that the score disappeared on the last few holes hey, chris reedy.

Speaker 2:

Uh, mr pxg here in vegas is in the in the ig chat.

Speaker 1:

Thanks, sir, good evening I always love it when we got uh locals hopping on that are in the in the biz uh, so, uh, thanks.

Speaker 2:

Uh, you know golf stop. Uh, they're starting to blow up, seeing more and more people going there. Um, I think the the added convenience of parking and walking right in open 24 hours, um, great facility, uh, great staff, uh, trackman lounge, four bays to hit out of, is uh, gales was there last night from like 1am and he was driving home when the sun was up, so he was putting in some work.

Speaker 2:

Can't. Can't do that everywhere, so uh, shout out to the golf stop for their continued support for the show. Uh also want to thank scott russo from unwritten law for allowing us to continue to use. Hey, I saw you put a couple unwritten law songs on the band and playlist, so thank you for that of course, a whole lot too much.

Speaker 2:

Kanye and lamar, kendrick lamar and I just had to this guy, bro, do all that and but uh, there's some good, there's some good stuff on there, there's some good stuff on there, there's something for everybody.

Speaker 3:

There is something for everybody and there's a lot for people that were born in the 70s in harlem, yeah right

Speaker 2:

joe's got a pimp suit in the closet. I know it.

Speaker 1:

I know he does.

Speaker 3:

You guys see my wedding. It's pretty fire.

Speaker 2:

Also I want to thank Mike from Beautiful Golf Courses he was out in. Vegas this past weekend and Joe and I joined him and I believe it was his brother-in-law out at brother brother brother brother.

Speaker 2:

I could remember his brother, brother brother brother there's too many crying and uh, we had a great time out there. We got really lucky. Uh, the, the heat wasn't as bad as it could have been and I told joe when we got to 10 I call it piute lake. Uh, it's the, the little pond body of water between 10 and 18 on the snow course.

Speaker 2:

Um, lake piute was uh glass, glass, and, and don't think I've ever seen that before it was an iphone screen, for sure yeah and uh, it was choppy by the time we came around 18, but the wind, the wind didn't pick up until we were leaving, like 16 t-box. So yeah, uh, great treat course was in fantastic shape. Uh, as always, I mean, piute never disappoints can't go wrong finally finally broke 80. On that course, uh said uh, pb's flying all over the place for me. I'm just, I'm just handing out pbs like here you go, here's pb, you get a pb, you get a pb you get a peanut butter, you get it, you get it uh, so shot a personal best on there for me.

Speaker 2:

Uh, I had, I had three birdies, three bogeys and three pars on the front. Um, so make it a little interesting. And then the putts just didn't drop on the back. It could have been a really good round, but just weren't dropping on the back for me.

Speaker 3:

But uh, that was my speed that day was impeccable, oh joe's lag putting was tremendous I mean I wouldn't call it lag putting from 10 feet, but my my speed is was solid well, I I wasn't talking about putting from 10 feet, I was talking about your lag putting well lag putting was fantastic that and my lag putting from 10 feet was solid you were making uh but uh, as always, course is in great shape.

Speaker 2:

Piute's great host and uh. Thanks so much, mike. Uh, he may still be exhausted out here. Oh, chris, chiming in. Matt, you've been posting some numbers. Yes, I have. Game is trending right now and Sunday set another personal best for me, broke that 75.

Speaker 3:

How do you feel? How do you feel Because you've been waiting for this for a while. You're a grinder. Do you feel? Overwhelmed, ecstatic, worried it's going to go away?

Speaker 2:

I put something on threads the other day I'm terrified to play my next round of golf because I don't want this run to end, but I can't wait to play my next round of golf because of the run I'm on. So it's kind of mixed emotions. Um, I'm, I'm happy, you know, I've. I've never, you know, I'd never posted four rounds of 70 in a row. Now I'm at five, now I'm at six, you know, and, and it's uh, terrified, just terrified.

Speaker 3:

What's?

Speaker 2:

oh no no, no, I'm just talking about emotionally. I I've never felt more confident standing over a golf ball. It's, it's wild, it's, it's a good feeling. Yeah, I didn't hit a lot of fairways on Sunday but I hit a lot of greens and I didn't get myself in trouble off the tee. I recovered well. I bogeyed 10 and then parred, you know, 11 through 18 and uh, it was so funny. On the 18th green, I, uh, I hit it. I was really happy with the shot I hit in there. I had my uh, uh, I had a shot at the birdie putt, uh for 73 and um, I, I hit it well and just just not, just not enough on it and jeremy was like what was that for? Okay, that was 73. I said this tap in is for 74 and he was like right on so what do you think the biggest thing?

Speaker 3:

because you've obviously worked on your swing a lot over the. I mean, we all know that you got a coach. You mentioned that recently, but do you think there's a mental change with it? More importantly, because you are the mental nut job. So I'm as erratic as you are mentally, Do you think there's a change? Like you, you've given props to the coach.

Speaker 3:

right that you've gotten lessons from people that are coaches instead of listening to people that are friends, that have the ability to coach. Yes, but do you think there has been a change that a screw has been tightened in your dome piece?

Speaker 2:

Yeah, the couple of couple of things have happened. I'll preface it with this A couple of things have happened. Austin, who's the coach I'm working with out of Washington, connor told me, who referred me to Austin said that he's asking for a stipend when I get to the senior tour, but that's, that's not happening.

Speaker 2:

So, um, that's, that's another worldly level, not with, not with leather man out there even even though I'm I'm age qualified, I am not golf qualified, but um, so austin has been a tremendous help and he helped me see some things and understand some things that I was confused about, and so that that has helped tremendously. So the swing is a lot more consistent, and that's one of the issues that I was having was an inconsistent swing. Didn't know the ball was going left or right, you know, didn't know my distance as well. Um, the other big change has been the, the la shafts. Um, you know it, it is.

Speaker 2:

You know it is the indian, not the arrow, but those, those arrows are fucking good and, uh, I think the wedge shafts are even more impressive than the iron shafts and my game from, you know, 115 in has been super solid of late. Um, but the approach because and then so the other thing that has been happening is I got uh clipped. Uh, I don't know if you guys have seen this or not. I've been posting the stats that I get after a round, um on like a joe just dying I was gonna say what you can't have babies, no more.

Speaker 3:

That was that was.

Speaker 2:

That was 15 years ago um but but clipped.

Speaker 2:

Clipped is an app that uh tracks you, track, you put in the information that tracks your stats, and one thing that it has done is is shown me where my biggest weakness was, and my biggest weakness is my approach. Shots, um, you know we're talking outside one 40, so the one 40 to 200 range is where I just have not been good around the green. I'm decent putting, I'm actually really happy with putting and the driver, although it's not long, has been really consistent and I'm putting in the fairway, um, so my, my biggest weakness has been my approach and so I've really been focusing it's. It's made me make those shots more important. So when it's like, uh, an example was on 11, 10, 11, 12, the par four on Lexington, on the back it's a dog leg left to right I hit a really good tee shot but it started too much left and I was in the rough and I was 165 out and you know, 165 out in the Lexington rough. It's not a great place to be, um, but I, you know I it.

Speaker 2:

Knowing the stats like this is my weakness. This is where I have to step it up. I took a little bit more time and understanding what was going on surroundings and I, you know, pulled off a great shot, put it to 10 feet and had a chance at birdie. And in the past that that would not have happened, it would have been, you know, me trying to hack a shot out of there that I had no business trying to do, because I, you know it wasn't. I wasn't aware that, hey, this part of your game is trash, yeah. So so the austin has been a tremendous help. He, he's, I mean, unbelievable what he's been able to help me with. Uh, the lhsF.

Speaker 3:

Chris is on Instagram and that is Austin um from evergreen golf club in Seattle, correct?

Speaker 2:

Yes, austin, austin nut.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yep, they have a fantastic facility up there. I mean, I'm talking to him a little bit on um Instagram, but I, I mean I feel like that place kind of rivals B-Dubski.

Speaker 2:

B-Dubski is up there too.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, b-dubski was in Vegas back in the day and then he went to Arizona. Now he's up at Evergreen. But yeah, fantastic facility up there. I'd love to get up there one day. Yes.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, so he's been a great help and Connor knew early because I told Connor, I warned him I'm like of a head case. And you know, after Connor was trying to help me, you know, for for I don't know, four or five weeks he was like I. I I'm done with you.

Speaker 3:

Well, that's what I'm trying. That's what I'm trying to get at. Is it what? Where'd the head case?

Speaker 2:

go. Is it just because you're more confident, or are you still ahead? Yeah, he's working. I still love tinkering, but he's always worked.

Speaker 3:

Matt's always worked.

Speaker 1:

I know, but now he's working on the right things.

Speaker 2:

He's confident.

Speaker 1:

You're confident.

Speaker 2:

It's confidence. I'm not wasting my time, exactly. I mean, I still putt every now and then, I still chip every now and then, but I would much rather spend an hour in the sun working on my position with my longer irons and grooving that swing and having confidence with that swing, cause I, I know right now I don't everybody needs to work on putting in chipping and I I do, but just not to the extent I used to.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, hey, speaking of being in the sun, go see a dermatologist. If you're a golfer, let's go do that. I need to do it soon. Go do it. Katie went today. So something going on. Put the bug in your ear. If you are in the sun, go see a dermatologist. Nothing wrong with that. Harry Higgs had a fucking black eye from one, but they're in it way more than us. But go do it. Yeah, you know.

Speaker 1:

I will say this, matt, that I have played, I think, three rounds with you out of your last five or six. You, that's two rounds at lexington and then, uh, and then the round at belly high, so I can attest to your progression in your golf game, which is awesome. Um, I will say that I think the biggest thing, like I said, is, you know, your ball striking is really good. Um, right now you're, um, you know, before you'd have the one or two little fat chip shots or approach shots. Uh, every once in a while the little hosel shank would jump in there. And the last few rounds, you, you're, that's not happening, yeah, so, um, you know it's a credit to you the work you put in and, uh, it's awesome to see brother.

Speaker 2:

Keep it up you love hearing that from dad's about to cry, guys, that's a great I'm not crying, you're crying.

Speaker 2:

who's cutting onions? Uh, no, it's, it's, it's been a blast though it. And you know, I, uh I said to austin the other day. I said I'm, I'm really happy with how things are going and I don't want to, I don't want to mess with anything right now. I said but, um, you know, my driver is not great. It's, it's good. You know, I, I put it in play, I get it down there.

Speaker 2:

But I said I, I know, because of my swing, that I'm I'm missing out on on distance and and some power. And uh, you know not that I'm like I'm chasing distance or chasing speed or anything like that, I just want to be more efficient. You know, he's really helped me make my irons and my wedges so much more efficient. And so I I said let's, let's mess with the driver for a little bit. So I sent him a video face on down the line. And, uh, so he uh sent me the info back and, um, the drills that I've been working on, I'm already seeing some progress in it. I was tinkering with it a little bit during Sunday, you know. I told him I'm like I don't know if I want to watch the lesson plan before I go out this weekend, because it may be in my head, but I watch it anyways.

Speaker 3:

Just do what you're doing. Yeah, get this dialed in. Don't change anything. Get this dialed in feel.

Speaker 2:

Get the feel you know, don't the distance the distance will come as you start as you start hitting that sweet spot more and more and you get more confident and you get your swing more groove, the distance will come for sure and, and I see it on, I see it on some of the shots, you know, not not all of them, but uh, based on you know, so I, I, you know, I posted those videos on instagram and I was like, okay, this is, this is gonna be this is me out driving joe by three yards hey it gets a get, bro, hey, a get is if I beat trey.

Speaker 1:

If I beat trey, by like one foot. You bet your ass, ass, he's hearing it.

Speaker 3:

Did you notice how there wasn't 13 other of those videos?

Speaker 2:

No, there wasn't.

Speaker 3:

Did you?

Speaker 2:

notice the scores.

Speaker 3:

Hey.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's fine. I don't care bro. Hey, I played decent on Friday.

Speaker 3:

I was happy.

Speaker 2:

I've been playing like shit so, uh, but yeah, no, I I so seeing where the swing was with the driver and what he's suggested and the drills that I've worked on and what I've recorded so far, um, way more consistent ball striking with the driver is coming, so I'm looking forward to that and a lot more speed. Speed at the ball, I guess you could say without, without changing too much. It's just there's some things that I I like to take my left side and let it keep going. Um, I I have an issue stopping as I get to the left and posting up on that leg and firing that left hip out of the way. Uh, so that's one of the things we're working on. And, uh, a setup at address that changed a little bit to help get that club back in the slot. Uh, the the right way instead of my donald trump version that I have you're playing well, you look good.

Speaker 3:

I mean, take, take this as a note. Everybody like you can be a mental fucking head case and you can play good golf, you know uh and grow a mullet. Yeah, you just got to grow a mullet by some LA golf shafts. And you're good, bro, like yeah, do this Shout. Shout out to SaltyGoffer joining in. Man, we need to get down there. I want to play True Blue. I need some of that chowder man. I need some of that chowder.

Speaker 1:

True Blue Caledonia, Fuck yeah.

Speaker 2:

Hey, I never thought at 51 I'd be playing the best golf of my life. I'll tell you that. So it's pretty freaking exciting for me. There you go.

Speaker 3:

Hey, there's better to come bro.

Speaker 2:

Hey, and you know what? There is one other thing to it that may have a little bit to do with it. I don't know not 100% on it yet, but I think it's something that is really helping. Is the new Wilson staff model ball Jeremy's a convert? He switched to it.

Speaker 2:

Dan was, even after he saw some of the chip shots that Jeremy was hitting and the ball was backing up from five feet. It was like God damn. I couldn't believe some of the shots that that Jeremy had out there with with that ball the, the X, the X spins like a son of a bitch, but I mean that ball that I you know. When I pulled it from the cup on 18, it looked like the same ball that I pulled from the sleeve. It's unreal, that cover, hey, I just said yeah, I played decent.

Speaker 3:

But I just want to give a shout out Like I just did it. But the salty golfer like if you guys don't know the salty golfer, go follow him. He does a tournament, I think it's once a year, I don't know the Salty Golfer, go follow him. He does a tournament, I think it's once a year, I don't know. He would be a good get for the podcast, all right. We have to do that one of these days. But yeah, it's cool to see you tuning in, man.

Speaker 2:

Thank you for being here. What did Rob say? Keep the glass half full, Matty yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I put that up earlier. Yeah, I saw that.

Speaker 2:

Let's see. What else did I have? What did we have in the chat? Let's see oh, Akshay's choke.

Speaker 3:

Hey, shout out to him though.

Speaker 2:

Did he stick around and go shake Smith's hand?

Speaker 3:

I didn't watch it, but hey, I think I think one of the that was super relatable. He said, hey, I got nervous, like he was there, you know, and that's that's, that's like that's real man, and that's that's how you can build a fan base, because people can relate to that shit Absolutely.

Speaker 3:

You know they can, and I think I didn't watch the end, but I think he probably I don't even think it was that three putt, I think it was him on 18 where, right, cause he like he hit a tree and he like only his tee shot was only like a hundred yards out, or was that the playoff hole, the one where he hit the tree and he went like 97 yards? Yeah, yeah, I think that was earlier in the round, right? So that was him coming up 18, like, and then you, you take that away. He probably wins. But if that shot, I think made his and he made a great par, he made a great, yeah, let's say it was a lot of like. I think it just like built up his anxiety, like he knew he could have won if he didn't fuck up that two shot. But hey, shout out him like being relatable, cause that happens to all of us. Hell yeah, it's hard, I got nervous. I got nervous.

Speaker 1:

It's hard as fuck to win a golf tournament. You know any kind of golf tournament. You know with nerves when they kick in us imagine that on the pga tour. You know you pay, you play for a couple million dollars. You know I'm saying um, the first putt, you know, I think that was probably the worst putt of them all. Um, leaving that putt six feet short. I mean, I get it, it's downhill and stuff like that. You don't want to blow it by. But even if he does go by the hole, he's got an uphilliller coming back. You know he'd rather have a four foot up, four or five foot uphill putt than a six foot downhill pass the hole too.

Speaker 1:

You know what it's doing exactly. So I think, right, there might have been a little bit of a you know, mental lapse. But, like I said, it's, it's fucking hard to win on tour and uh, I know he's done it before, um, but you know, those are the moments that will make or break somebody's career. You know like you're either going to make it or you don't, and then when you make them, you get so used to winning and know how to win and know how to close, that eventually these tournaments become easier. You know, and I understand the nerves, I understand, trust me, because I probably would have been pissing down my leg if I had that putt too. Oh my god, yes, yeah, right, but you know, if he sees that fall, the more he sees that putt fall, the more he knows he can close. You know it could be, it could be a game changer, because actually he's young he's 22.

Speaker 1:

He's what 22 22 years old, I mean. He's got a long career ahead of him if he stays healthy. So I don't know. He's playing well. He's definitely trending in the right direction and hopefully he breaks through with another dub.

Speaker 3:

He's very solid, I mean, and the best thing for him, he's going to learn something from this, which is like you have to go through life and learn things from your failures. So he's, oh yeah, things from your failures. So he's, oh yeah, he learned something from this, because he is so young, like actually can fucking beat the ball and you know he's, he's gonna have a lot more opportunities. Uh, I had him on a fantasy team this week, but he was on the bench, but I did have the winner.

Speaker 2:

There you go, uh, oh, here's, here's the. Uh, we can. Here's the current standings. I made an update to this. As you scroll through, you'll see there I am in third. Joe's in fourth Joe passed up. Alvin Cal's there. Tyler's there.

Speaker 3:

Just making sure that he's ahead of me.

Speaker 1:

Let's see what it says for me and Jeremy.

Speaker 2:

You guys are part of the show, so you gonna get some love, yeah, but here we go.

Speaker 1:

Uh, yeah, ben, I'm not dead last, I'll take that loser jeremy, jeremy's got some points, yeah, yeah loser.

Speaker 3:

Where's fucking cal? Where's birdies and bourbon man?

Speaker 2:

he's in six place.

Speaker 3:

He's been traveling man, that guy, that guy him and the asian been traveling. Yeah, man, that guy, him and the Asian have been traveling, yeah those are the losers that can't log in His words, not mine.

Speaker 2:

Do their fantasy picks, but Cal's trying, he's trying, he's hanging in there, he's hanging in there.

Speaker 3:

Shout out Cal, Birdies and bourbon.

Speaker 2:

Oh, I sent this message to Joe. I knew he's going to be excited about this. So, uh, the rocket mortgage, the is the detroit country club or detroit golf club, that where they play this at, it's a donald ross design. And, uh, after the last hole was finished the other day, that course is shut down.

Speaker 2:

They are redoing all the greens and returning them to the original donald ross design hell yes, get rossed, hell yes so, uh, next year, uh, at this event, I don't think we'll see 22 under um, because, uh, if I mean it's probably won't be as firm and as fast as they play the open, uh, but uh, a donald ross course in the rota that has Donald Ross greens.

Speaker 3:

So I'm curious to see what they do like how, like, how drastic they make it. I mean, I don't think they can make it too drastic because you're going to have guys that are like I'm not coming to play, so no, I don't, and I don't think, with the land that they have, that they can make it too drastic and I don't think they will make it too drastic. But um, yeah, it's gonna be interesting. I'm excited. This makes me more excited for it next year yeah, and it's it's nice to see them.

Speaker 2:

I, you know, I who knows how long this has been in the works for, but I don't think they saw the us open and went, oh, let's do this, and announced it. So, uh, a lot of thought goes into these changes. You know you're going to hurt your membership for a year.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I don't think it's US Open based. I think it's just like straight up like golf based, like there's a lot of these courses that are going back to the restores. Yep, they're going back to restorations, to restorations. You know they're having um architects come in to build it off of what actually was there originally and still lengthening it because the ball and the clubs but I think it is a trend in golf to where, you know, they're trying to bring it back to the old time, you know, like the rustic kind of style and the way it was supposed to be, and and I think this all started with band of dudes, like golf, as it was meant to be, you know a lot of people are taking that tagline now big time because all the scottish courses that are, you know, advertising in america are using that tagline now yeah, I mean like, uh, like uh, what was it?

Speaker 3:

Uh, when did they do the restore at Pinehurst too? I think it was before the U S open Right. So like, and they, they. You know, I just, I think, I think it's a trend, but people want that rugged style of golf, like the way it was meant to be. Unfortunately, we're going to probably overuse this, but you know, I would love to see pebble from oh hell, yeah, like redone, how it was those, those bunkers that just looked like they saw it in the middle.

Speaker 5:

Oh, fucking sick dude.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, so sick yep so crazy those old flies are so dope yeah, but like you know, the elite like my cousin sent me a video today and he said, uh, the guy was talking about like what's the most underrated um state for golf. I don't know if you guys saw this, yeah, the michigan one it's pennsylvania. No, he said pennsylvania and he goes. We got pine valley, we got an iran, we got marion, we got, and I'm like fuck that bro fuck.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, you got great golf, but not nobody can play that shit nobody can play that but anybody can go to band of dunes pace, pay a little bit of money, play that. You know like I think good golf needs to be more accessible and and not taking away from anything, Um that you know, country clubs right, because there are ways to do it, but I don't think you can have the best state for golf and it all be private personally, because then I was reading the comments and, like this guy doesn't know he's talking about, the munis are trash. You know people need to be able to play the golf that is there, to experience it, to make it the best.

Speaker 1:

I don't know I went off on a tangent go ahead so are you saying that oregon is the best state for golf? Joe's? That's the best state for you in your opinion no, I'm not saying that.

Speaker 3:

I'm just saying that if you're going to be classified as the best state for golf, you need to have an equal balance, public to private, with yeah, public to private, like so do you go with a place like florida that's got so many golf courses, or arizona that's got so many golf courses well, that's that's to be debated, I think that.

Speaker 2:

That's why I'm asking you well, it's.

Speaker 3:

What I'm saying is is like you can't advertise that you're the greatest golf state to play golf in, and then people are like, oh, I gotta go there. And they're like, oh, I can't play any of those places. That's what I'm saying, yeah, that's good.

Speaker 3:

so there needs to be equal balance where it's like okay, I have, I have, I can play some of those courses and I can play some of those courses. But for the average human, if you're going to go and claim that you're the best golf state in the world, I need to be able to go play as a normal person. That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

I get it. I agree with that.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, get it. I agree with that. Yeah, now, phil, pennsylvania has great golf, but 90 I don't know.

Speaker 2:

98 percent of us are never going to see those golf courses. That's like in new york city too just all the private clubs around new york that are just sleepy hollow and right so how amazing golf course, right joe, public is never going to know about. Yeah, yeah.

Speaker 3:

So how can the average population say, hey, he's correct, when they have never, they can't step foot on it.

Speaker 1:

But if the average population go, on there and be like exactly they're just going off the course rankings I get you know, this is a dude on Instagram and he was wearing a pine Valley hat.

Speaker 3:

I was like, oh, okay.

Speaker 1:

It's a nice flex though.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, totally and just absolutely amazing and I'll never step forward.

Speaker 3:

Congrats. You played him, but I think you need to look out for the others that can't play all those courses that you know or have stepped foot on.

Speaker 2:

It was rodeo dunes popping up and nebraska blowing up and colorado blowing up and I just was talking with brian or earlier today about that new course in colville. Uh, they're having the soft opening is yeah, today his pictures look so good oh my god. But he also said that tiger is building a new course um by victory ranch yeah that, uh, he said I'm like man, that area is blowing up and he said, yeah, and probably more coming I know dan sent it to me.

Speaker 3:

Did you see the tiger doke course in mexico?

Speaker 2:

potentially where in mexico?

Speaker 1:

uh north north of desante it looks unreal if this is anything like the renderings it looks like heaven on earth.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I think I think it's a long way out. I don't. I don't think they even have all the land. But yeah, joke once over, or no, tiger once over. Don't come in like, sprinkle some magic on it and so yeah, because you can't, because you can't play the courses that are, we're on the list.

Speaker 2:

That's the thing oh, I've been missing these. I'm sorry. This is another bomb right here. Tried the wilson ball on sunday. Passed along to woody to test out, shocked how good that wilson ball is. On Sunday, passed along to Woody to test out, shocked how good that Wilson ball is. Yes, I'm going to have to try it, dan is. It was pretty good yeah.

Speaker 1:

I have yet to try it.

Speaker 2:

And they got yellows. Joe, they got yellows.

Speaker 3:

I know.

Speaker 2:

They got yellows. All right, let's take a break real quick. We got some stuff to run. Let's give uh some love to las vegas golf super store first the independence day sale at las vegas golf superstore by worldwide golf.

Speaker 1:

Don't take it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, but you guys do Go down to Las Vegas Golf Superstore. Why don't you go down there and grab yourself a travel bag and go play somewhere outside of Vegas?

Speaker 2:

Do that one Travel where it's not 118 degrees? Yeah, fuck that. Yeah, so nice little segue there to the weather Weatherman's back this week after falling ill, to the COVID virus, back on the airwaves and back on the chasing day podcast what's going on everybody?

Speaker 4:

it's fox 5 meteorologist matt gontar, with a look at your piu golf forecast for the vegas golf network. With this upcoming tournament on saturday, temperatures out there in the northwest is going to be closer to 110 to 111, so it's going to be dangerously hot outside. Uh, if you are playing in this tournament, start hydrating today, right now. Just get a water and start slamming it. You're going to want to be adequately hydrated before Friday comes around for the round on Saturday. Make sure to have those hydration packets, more of that salt in your water and make sure to have some snacks too throughout the round to make sure you're ready to go. But wind gusts around 20 miles per hour. We'll have temperatures about 110 to 111 into Saturday afternoon. Good luck.

Speaker 3:

Great use of the word adequately Matt.

Speaker 2:

Gone.

Speaker 3:

Derek, make sure you are adequately hydrated.

Speaker 2:

Hydrated Did you?

Speaker 1:

say 111 plus 20 mile an hour winds. It's going to be like playing golf in a blow dryer. Oh, that's just like fucking dragon's breath hey, I've played in.

Speaker 2:

I've played in 130 degrees so and death valley yeah, well, you're also a little nuts, yeah. But yeah. The screw, loose the screw loose, but yeah, so everybody that is listening. That's playing Saturday at Paiute drink, please drink water. The league does not have insurance to cover your demise on the golf course.

Speaker 3:

Um so uh, play at your own risk, but yeah, go get one of them. Uh, those jones coolers me and matt have ones from the solstice. They're great. I stock that thing up with water bottles ice waters uh snacks. Go hit up the grocery outlet over on blue diamond beef jerky.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, it's gonna be a hot one and the little convenience store when you pull off the freeway there. Uh, because that's on the reservation that you they don't have the uh you can buy weed um, yeah yes, you can. A couple pre-rolls before you get out there, uh, great place to stock up on some drinks too, because you get it at a really good price. So and then, if you want to get high too, you can get high too high on life high on life.

Speaker 2:

High on life. So, piute saturday, we, uh, you know, have a vgn tournament. This is, I think, event number six, two, three, four, five, seven, event seven on the season. Uh, the standings are getting exciting. We had a couple members that did not realize, because they don't check their emails. There's no automatic bid this year. If you win last year is when you're in, and then a lot of guys that won went. I don't need to play. So they didn't. So I said no, no more more. Uh, we're gonna go by points only. So, uh, top 10 points in each flight we'll get the uh invite to the coveted vg and finals that are taking place at boulder creek in november. Um, so, uh, that opened a few eyes to some guys. Had a couple more people signed up for wild horse, I, I think because of that. And uh, which is nice, um, that's going to be another hot one, that's in that's in wild horse.

Speaker 3:

I'm so long oh kind of excited for that.

Speaker 2:

Did you see the picture that I posted on discord? Probably not, cause you guys never go on there.

Speaker 3:

Nope, nope.

Speaker 2:

Discord plane coming into town and, uh, fairways were striped and it was looking pretty good out there so interesting yeah, I was trying to entice a couple more people to sign up to play because bump up the contrast brightness, playing with the photos.

Speaker 2:

A little photoshop action. Why is this dirt? Uh, no, but uh, yeah, that's gonna be a fun one. But before that we have Paiute, and we try to play Paiute every year because it's such an amazing place. We've played Snow and Sun a couple times. Yeah, bring one. But we've never played the Wolf Course on a tournament. We've done it for Legends Never Die, but we've never done it for a VGN tournament. So this is our first time playing the wolf course. Uh, it's, I was. I was kind to the diamonds division, our gross division. Uh, the tournament teas go back to 7500 yards and that's beefy. Uh, so I have those. I have the diamond guys playing 7,000, and we've got 6,506. So a nice little sampling of the golf course. It's all tee times. So from 620 to 830, I think is the last time we got it We've got two hours. We'll have golfers on the court. Everybody.

Speaker 2:

Please give a round of applause to the man, the myth, the legend. Jeremy Martin has made it to the show.

Speaker 5:

Yep, sorry about that. I had to basically buy a new router at Target, so I was as fast as I could. It's driving me insane, so we'll see if that fixes my problems. Wow, so irritating man Like one thing that's like the worst thing for me is bad internet. Like even worse than like shanking the golf ball, or like yeah, I'd much rather shank a ball than have bad internet. I hear you, you're a tech guy yeah.

Speaker 4:

So, jeremy, for the last 41 minutes.

Speaker 2:

we just been talking about how great I've been playing. Okay, that, yeah, 41 minutes no not 41 minutes we had a little small segment of of me, though he's happy.

Speaker 3:

He's happy, he cried.

Speaker 2:

He was dan had me crying I was choked up a little bit cutting onions.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, it was it was gonna be a double vHS about this, just like Titanic.

Speaker 2:

It's going to be called the June of His Life.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, at the end Leo. Dies bro Leo dies Don't.

Speaker 5:

Let go, Jack Don't let go.

Speaker 1:

You didn't have to. There was room on that door.

Speaker 5:

That bitch.

Speaker 2:

So much room.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I was talking to Favs tonight at basketball about your performance as of late and we talked about the over and under at the Paiute tournament.

Speaker 2:

Oh, God oh.

Speaker 5:

It's going to carry over, yeah.

Speaker 3:

I think this weekend is the true test.

Speaker 2:

Absolutely. Tournament golf is different man.

Speaker 3:

Totally.

Speaker 2:

You know I've been playing free and without expectation, which is something I never understood, so it's been fun. I struggle with managing the league and playing golf. That's been one of my hardest things to overcome. There's a lot of shit going on in my brain when it comes to tee time for getting everybody there and making sure everyone's there. Jeremy's not playing in this one, so thankfully I get to go out in the first group so I can be there to collect cards for everybody. So I mean everybody's kind of going to be on their own, and I think we've got a pretty solid enough crew that everybody knows where to be and what to do. I'm not going to stress about it. Everybody's paid courses paid, everybody's turned in their side money, got the scorecards. Everything's ready to roll Um, so I may go out there Thursday afternoon and play around. If I do that, I'm going to drop off all the scorecards and tell them to load them on the cards for me. Just one less thing I have to do and we'll see if that helps.

Speaker 1:

Hell yeah.

Speaker 5:

I'm sure it will. I'm looking forward to it. One less thing you need to worry about, yeah.

Speaker 2:

You can just go straight to the range. It's a challenge.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, yeah, worry about, yeah it's, you can just go straight to the range it's a challenge, yeah, yeah, hopefully.

Speaker 2:

I mean the the snow range was closed, the sun and the snow range was closed when we played there this last weekend, um, so hopefully they don't flip it and close the wolf range and have us going all the way over there and come all the way back. Hopefully just don't throw a wrench oh, you're stressing already about it everybody everybody.

Speaker 2:

Park on the right side, walk down the hill. You don't got to do bag drop. Walk down the hill, put it on your cart, go practice and get on the course at the right time. So it it should be good, and you still got to fix your mirrored hat.

Speaker 5:

I yeah, I don't know what's going on with that it's I flipped it. I can't find my backwards flip the cat five. You need to flip the cat five cable uh yeah, yeah, that might be it yeah, yeah, that might be it.

Speaker 2:

Hey, so, um, looking like I said, looking forward to piute, I can't wait, it's gonna be great. And then we got wild horse in a couple weeks after that. But, uh, one other thing I want to talk about, uh, because I don't know who sent this this morning in the banded chat about the night golf dan was that you that said that I mean, how freaking geeked are you to play night golf abandoned that's what we need to do, for sure yes, I saw that post and I saw it was banded dunes.

Speaker 1:

I was like this we need to do this.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, they sent me an email and they said that it's not available those days what bullshit, I just got it what I'm kidding, I did. I did call um and they had long waits, per usual for bandon, and then I sent an email to the reservation group. They said you need to reach out to tournament services. So I reached out to them. I have not heard back, but, um, I did see that in the in the post it does say trails are abandoned, but on the website it says banded one, two, three and nine.

Speaker 2:

So, um, dude, I want one, two, 17 and 18 at trails. Oh my god, that would be so epic yeah, that would.

Speaker 3:

That would.

Speaker 2:

That would be great um so hopefully the hesitation in his voice.

Speaker 3:

He was like uh, I just, I know I do want to do it on trails. I just don't want two part threes, because I think I think hitting it into the fairway, uh, twice or three times on ban and dunes might be cooler if they. If they line up the fairway, because it's on Bannon Dunes, 1, 2, 3 and 9, it's 2 par 4s, 1 par 3 and 1 par 5, because 9 is a par 5. If they do it on trails, it's par 4, par 3, par 3, par 4. So I think it might be funner if they have the fairways lined with the, the glow sticks on banded dunes, um, but trails, yes, would be, would be cooler because you're playing trails, because I like trails more than banded dunes.

Speaker 2:

Now, but uh, I think it was thinking it'd be.

Speaker 3:

It'd be darker and more, just more like you're in the middle of fucking nowhere yeah, and then, it being that late, we'd be closer to the lily pond, which we can go to sleep after. But if you are on band of dunes they can go to. You can go to, uh, mckee's right after get some meatloaf. So, uh, either way, either way, either fucking way, it'll be cool. Either way, it's cool.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, that's a done deal. We have to do that. You can't throw something like that out on social media and not let us do it. Right.

Speaker 3:

That would be criminal. Yeah.

Speaker 1:

I agree.

Speaker 3:

So the emails out there, hopefully you hear from them. Yeah, that's pretty rad. I think the best thing would be to do it on Sunday night, because we don't start until 10.30 on Monday because the sun's not going down until 9.30. We'll be playing golf 10 to 10.45 or something 2 am.

Speaker 2:

I'd say Bob would have plenty of time to get even higher. But that's just a consistent thing now.

Speaker 3:

So no, he might have time to go buy some Dave's bagels from a raise food place, but I'm so excited, I was so excited.

Speaker 2:

You should tell him. We need to tell Bob. Hey, we talked to the deli guy and he said that if, if, as long as you give him a week notice, he can have a vegan menu for you. But you got to call him His name's Carl. Call him and talk to him.

Speaker 1:

When we, uh, when we were up in Utah, um Trey and I had mentioned that, like Bob, what are you going to eat, you know? And he was like I don't know, I'll figure it out I told him I go, well, there's a, there's a market there, so I'm sure we go and get you some golf bagels, or you know.

Speaker 3:

He's gonna be so happy to play golf with all of us. He's just gonna be so happy that it doesn't even matter. He'll eat fucking leaves if he needs to. I think. I think bob's gonna be excited to see all of us because we haven't seen him in a while just brings in a tuft of grass to the board. Put this in a blender. Living off the land.

Speaker 2:

Yeah, abandoned bush blender movie.

Speaker 3:

No, I I'm happy to go to a raised food place with Bob, like I look. That's my favorite grocery store in the country. Right, you loved it we went in there.

Speaker 1:

It was great.

Speaker 3:

That's my favorite grocery store in the country. I know you loved it when we went in there. It was great. That's my favorite grocery store in the world.

Speaker 1:

He's like we just traveled back in time. Look at this grocery store.

Speaker 3:

Yes, it's great. I haven't talked to Scottie D.

Speaker 2:

I got to find out if he's going to make his way up there or not. I'll have to chat with him tomorrow and see if he's going to make his way up there or not, because that would be fun for him to come join us so you like your bag, jeremy? Oh yeah, I love it that thing looks light as a feather, it is light did you order that or did you go and get it after golf?

Speaker 5:

no, I ordered it. The thing is, for some reason, the lighter you go in a bag, the more expensive it gets. I don't know. I don't get it Like there's less fabric. It's super thin.

Speaker 2:

Carbon, carbon it's ripstop.

Speaker 5:

So it's yeah, I don't get it. So, like everywhere else, it was like $300 for this like super skinny, lightweight paper thin bag. But I found some site that I thought was a scam initially, but I ordered it anyway because it was like 150 cheaper, so or this one with my green dot yeah, I had to cancel my credit card after I went through it, just to be sure.

Speaker 2:

But I got. Is there a note in one of the pockets giving you coordinates? I would recommend it.

Speaker 5:

Right, I checked it for bugs and air tags. It's clean.

Speaker 2:

Send help Papa.

Speaker 1:

Help us. We're stuck in a sweatshop.

Speaker 2:

I got a band in bag. Jeremy got a band in bag. Joe, you're good.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to get one.

Speaker 3:

I'm thinking about Orton the Jones, the new Jones bag. I know it's light, they look cool with the two tone Jones, but that front pocket kind of fucks me up and I I haven't. I haven't seen it in person, so that's where I'm like. But I did get the Southwest Airlines credit card. I know Trey got one, so you got to spend three Gs and you get like 85,000 points. So I'm thinking about it. My bag was fine last time we were up there. My bag is still fine last time we were up there. My bag is still fine. Um, I'm also thinking about just grabbing my my um penfold mckenzie mock-up and just going that route. I don't know, we'll see.

Speaker 2:

I mean, dan what about you?

Speaker 1:

I'm just excited um, I've got that little jones rover bag, that little gray one, and then, uh, I have a stand or is it the no stand? No, it has a stand. And then I have an old school like okay, 2000, ping hofer, that is in fantastic shape, but I think colby might be using that one hey if you ever want to sell that bag, I will buy that from you.

Speaker 5:

I'm a I'm a hoover being man, that's all I love speaking of jeremy buying stuff.

Speaker 2:

Uh, is the trade on for the olsen, for the?

Speaker 5:

strokes gained.

Speaker 2:

Jeremy was not himself on sunday yeah, it's, it's definitely like being considered for sure.

Speaker 3:

I mean, yeah, I mean I might need, if we do that trade, I might need like a couple of bean and cheeses on top of that one.

Speaker 5:

Oh, I, I could do that. I could do that.

Speaker 1:

I mean the ones from sayulitos that are like I want to go there freeze them yeah just a massive.

Speaker 2:

It's like a submarine of a fucking bean and cheese burrito bring it on the plane, bring it on the plane and just terrify everyone I am.

Speaker 3:

I I'm a big fan of strokes game. Uh, that's the only putter I play. I I would love to have that, but at the same time, I am a collector of random shit. So, um, but no, I it, I told jeremy that means a hoarder that means olsen is a bigger collector's item than a stroke unfortunately.

Speaker 3:

Love you roars, but where's the button? If I do, if I do, because I I can't play the olsen. I don't like playing the olsen, but next time me and jeremy play, we'll bring him. And if, if I drain the first putt with the strokes, game guaranteed, but we have to. We need a shaft swap because oh yeah, yeah, it's got the bgt in it.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, I told him I'm like he can have that shaft. He's gonna want it, he can have it, it's all good, I'll take a regular shaft joe, is that olsen carbon, or is it uh stainless?

Speaker 2:

it's stainless, stainless.

Speaker 3:

It's pretty though and I think that's one of the things I don't really like about it, because I've I've played my strokes game, which is carbon, and I the feel, I like to feel more, and I think I mean scotty does more stainless stuff, right? He doesn't carbon anymore, yeah, so jeremy's probably more um in love with stainless steel, correct? Yeah, oh yeah. So I think it will be. I think it will be a happy marriage on the trade, but I think so yeah, that's why we'll check it out one of the reasons roar started strokes gainain is because Scotty stopped doing carbon.

Speaker 3:

And that's the thing I mean these two putters that were potentially going to trade. It's not like you can't sell them Because, like it was Legends Never Die 2020. They're stamped with Legends Never Die. No, yeah, you can sell a Stro, sell a strokes gain, you can sell a an olsen, but legends never die. Stuff is legends never die. Stuff is a little different. You know like these are. These are accoutrements to the experience that you experienced in 2020 at piu that's the word of the day, kids, yeah.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, fuck, can you spell that Joe yeah?

Speaker 2:

Can you use that in a real sentence?

Speaker 3:

A-C-C-U-R capital M-A-N-T-S.

Speaker 2:

A.

Speaker 3:

Kutraman Necromancer Geez. No, what I'm saying is they're specific to the experience that you experienced in 2020, so it's not like I can't post an olsen on ebay and be like legends never died. 2020, people are gonna be like ah 4gs. You know it's gotta stay in the family, exactly, exactly yeah, it's more valuable to us than it is totally, totally, um, but there was a lot of players in in that event and I think we need to do that again at some point go ahead yeah, go make it.

Speaker 2:

Make it a one day 54 hole tournament or 36 goal tournament for next year that was fun yeah, that shit was fun, it was a great day. It, it it was, it was. Yeah, uh, let's see. Was there anything else? Um, that was happening this week, got the, the john deere, the tractor open is taking place this week. Uh, then we'll uh start heading over for the uh, and then the British Open. Get some big names in those events. What's going on with Liv? Anything going on with Liv. Have you heard anything? No, no, me either.

Speaker 3:

No no L-I-V-I-A.

Speaker 2:

It was nice seeing Taylor Montgomery back playing good golf. Harry had a good tournament. Gigi had a good tournament in the team event. I think she finished top 10 in that. So some good golf, some good golf going on out there, guys. And yeah, that's it. That's all I got Joe, you got anything.

Speaker 3:

Jeremy, you were late. You got anything? Yeah, pondering, pondering.

Speaker 5:

You know it's funny and I think I've talked to a few about this. I have, like I don't have, a long history of golf trips, so this one's I'm sort of like psyching myself out already and like I'm like overthinking. I'm just completely overthinking everything and luckily Joe told me you're overthinking it. Matt, you told me the same thing. It's like I don't know what to expect, but I just know it's going to be incredible and like, even if I'm not prepared, it doesn't even matter. When you're there, it's just you. You walk through the pain, you're not playing well, it doesn't matter.

Speaker 2:

As soon as that shower head water hits you, it'll all. Oh, there goes the internet.

Speaker 1:

Jeremy's face. Yep, it's a good one.

Speaker 5:

Put face. Yep, it's a good one. Put them on t-shirt. Uh, jeremy, if you can hear us, I think you just lost me.

Speaker 5:

Yeah, you got your back, he's back, he's back I don't even know the what you let, the last thing you heard. But I'm just like like, if you, I'm like thinking, oh, I need to buy this, I need to come with this, I need to do all this, but it it's like once you're there, you don't even care about any of it. Your bag weighs 50 pounds and you're just there with your buddies. I could have knee pain.

Speaker 3:

It's like you don't even feel it because you're just you're going to be so jacked up on adrenaline playing a place that you've wanted to play for so long. Yeah, I mean, I did the same thing with matt, like when we went up there and played solstice I was like I'm gonna die. I promised you I'm gonna die. Uh, here's my wife's number, my mom's number, my dad's number, in case I die it is you're gonna be running on full adrenaline and pure excitement and pure joy and pure like.

Speaker 2:

And then we met the 80 year old man that's done it 11 years in a row. In a row.

Speaker 3:

We're like, oh shit, here's one thing you need to know. It's like it can be done. There's been people before you that have done it, that did not prepare for shit, and it can be done.

Speaker 1:

Um, it will probably be your defining moment in life, the most like you're gonna find yourself well, I'm sorry, boys, it's kind of not wrong, I mean like it's seriously jay, like when it comes to the golf course, like just like kind of curb your expectations, because any expectations you might have are going to fall well short, well short. Every hole just blasts you in the face with beauty. It doesn't matter what fucking course you're on. And now I'm going to feel that again with Sheeps and with Shorty. So I'm excited for that, because I haven't played Sheeps Ranch yet.

Speaker 2:

Oh, you haven't played Sheep yet.

Speaker 1:

No, or I haven't really finished OG either, because Joe and I had to finish. What hole was that?

Speaker 3:

Because he was limping. He was limping on 13.

Speaker 1:

Well, I was limping.

Speaker 2:

You haven't been to the crying hole yet. I have not yet.

Speaker 1:

I have not seen 16 yet. With my eyes I was, but it was also getting dark and we were getting further and further away from the clubhouse and we were walking so that's the point, it's not just because my foot was hurting. There was a lot of other shit mixed involved there, but but uh, yeah, so it's. It's a special place, jane. It's gonna, it's gonna hit you like a ton of bricks. It does. Everybody whose first time is there goes there for the first time I'm like so wait, I'm so excited for you.

Speaker 3:

I am like like I wish I was you right now, because to experience that place for the first time, like and it's not, it's not it's. The thing is is it's not about how well you play, it's not about the golf, it's about the experience. It it truly is. It's you're sharing it with your homies and it's like it's golf like you've never played before. It's so different. It's not Coyote Springs, it's not Paiute. It is something that you've never seen before or witnessed. It is different, it's special. It will crack open your heart and fill you with pure joy. It's it's uh I don't want to overdo it, because matt did the same thing to me too.

Speaker 3:

Like he said, you're gonna love it, you're gonna love it. I'm like and I watched everything possible. I watched every youtube I could potentially dive into the, the depths of the internet, and it is, it's an experience and I I'm so excited for you to witness it and so excited to see you, to witness you being there for the first time, like I'm. I'm about to cry right now because I, I want that again, because it literally is my favorite place I've ever been.

Speaker 1:

It's so dope and we're so close yep and uh, it's gonna, it's gonna be sick and we're gonna do it four times over because jeremy, bob, trey, colby, it's all gonna be their first time, so I know I'm getting chills right now like literally it's yeah, it's gonna be, it's gonna be sick, fucking best dude.

Speaker 3:

And you're not even. You're not gonna be, you're not gonna be worried about your legs. You're gonna wake up tired on the second day and you're gonna wake up more tired the third day, but you're gonna be like let's go. I mean, we're going peak season like you're gonna get to experience something new every single day that you've never seen.

Speaker 2:

That's gonna open your eyes to golf in a way that then we're gonna do it at night for the first time.

Speaker 3:

For yeah, yep, yep and we're all gonna play shorties for the first time the year. It was open. It only opened three months ago. Yeah, shorty, shorty down. I mean there is a and I like we need to pull up. I mean I know we play old mac at like 7 30 in the morning on sunday, but we need to pull up. And I mean I know we play Old Mac at like 730 in the morning on Sunday, but we need to pull up. And we need to go see Shoe. We need to go ask Shoe what's the weather. Like these guys need to go up to the main clubhouse at 6, 630 in the morning just so they can walk into that area and see Shoe and ask him what the weather is going to be like. Like there's so many little things and you need to stand in between the stones before you even play golf.

Speaker 2:

Got to do that. Like what are those protein balls called.

Speaker 3:

Banded balls, banded balls.

Speaker 2:

Oh my.

Speaker 3:

God, they're amazing Banded balls. But when we pull up, we need to pull up to the main clubhouse. Everybody that's never been there needs to stand in between them stones, and then we need to say what's up to shoe. Ask him what the weather is going to be like. We'll grab a cup of coffee because coffee's free. But yeah, man, I'm so excited to share the experience with you guys as first timers, cause I've never I've never experienced the first timer there and like as special as that places to me, like I'm so much more excited to see you there for the first time, I feel like I should open a crystal store or something.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to come back, yeah.

Speaker 3:

And bring what you need to bring, you'll be fine. Don't stress out about it, you'll be okay.

Speaker 2:

You'll be fine. We'll all be there to make sure of it.

Speaker 5:

Oh yeah, if I die you can bury me under 16, that bunker on 16 on OG.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, I'll send you off myself.

Speaker 2:

Throw my corpse off the cliff. Give us all a reason to cry there.

Speaker 1:

Throw my corpse off the cliff.

Speaker 2:

Oh, oh, hey. One last thing. One last thing before Joe takes us out of here. I want to give congrats to Rocky and the boys at the Golf Fathers. They did a pretty cool thing yesterday.

Speaker 2:

They played nine different nine-hole layouts here in town. All in one day, 81 holes Pretty cool accomplishment. As far as YouTube golf goes, everybody's always trying to find the next big thing to do or the next challenge. Uh, so it was the the golf father's gauntlet. Uh, so they did. They went around chimera cascada. They played nine at chimera, nine at cascada. Uh, all three of the nine holes at boulder creek. I don't know if they went to muni, they did legacy and then they did 27 at Angel Park. So hell of a day for them, long day. The video will be coming out soon, so everybody stay tuned for that. That'll be fun to watch.

Speaker 3:

Sounds like a regular day at Bandit. Not with the heat, though. It was a hot day, man, it was hot yesterday.

Speaker 2:

So, yeah, check their IG out and their YouTube. That'll be out soon. All right, joe, let's wrap this up.

Speaker 3:

Yo, thanks for tuning in Chase into that podcast. Happy 4th of July. Hopefully you don't get an eardrum.

Speaker 2:

Oh, here we go, hold on this. Here he goes. This, this, this bugs the shit out of me because I see this all the time, so I have to say something. Uh, the reason there are illegal fireworks in the city is because you know the fireworks are not allowed. Certain fireworks is because this is a dry ass valley. We have the strongest water restrictions in the country. It is dry as hell, and when fireworks that go in the sky and explode, if they don't burn off, they land in your backyard, they catch your shit on fire. More house fires. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Speaker 2:

I'm not anti-patriotic. I love fireworks. I love going to the fireworks shows. I wish we could shoot them off here, but we can't.

Speaker 2:

Metro came out and said they're going to enforce it this year. It's total bullshit. They can't do nothing about it. Until they stop selling them in Pahrump and the Indian Reservation, people are going to continue to buy them and light them off for fucking days, because it's morons. Because it's morons. Um, have some respect for your fellow neighbors. Have some respect for, uh, the other people in your community. Uh, I'm sure all of you have already bought all your fucking thousand dollars worth of fireworks and my dogs in the neighborhood, not my dogs. The dogs in the neighborhood are going to be going fucking ape shit for two days. Kids are going to be blowing off their fingers and houses are catching on fire. That's not patriotic. Celebrate safe and and quit crapping on people that think illegal fireworks are are a good thing for this valley. It's stupid. Let it go go watch a free show and uh you know my hey, I got a putting green in the backyard.

Speaker 2:

You know how flammable that shit is. If a sparkler lands on that, that thing is gone. So I I hose that motherfucker down every four just because I don't want it going up, cause some idiot doesn't know how to fucking aim his bottle rocket the right way. Wow, I'm off a tangent now.

Speaker 1:

Wow and uh. I'd like to apologize to everybody out there who Matt, just ruined their 4th of July spirit have spirit, have fun, celebrate America.

Speaker 2:

We're the greatest country in the world go get some snakes have fun, but don't just use sparklers, those of you that have moved here from Northern California and the South, where you can buy fireworks year round and shoot them up in the sky that lands on the ground, it goes. Sky that lands on the ground, it goes here. That lands on the ground, it goes.

Speaker 3:

I do agree to a certain extent, but if you're going to do that, make sure your fucking palm trees are not dry and they're clipped and palm tree fires on Thursday.

Speaker 2:

Per capita.

Speaker 3:

And don't waste your money on fireworks. Don't waste your money on fireworks, go buy golf clubs, go buy golf balls, go buy that you can actually use by a lesson air fryer or something, man, like it's burnt up to a chris. I'd rather go buy a candle than a firework, you know? At least that'll make the house smell good. You know what I'm saying. You got anything else, matt?

Speaker 2:

Depends on what you're going to say, but probably not.

Speaker 3:

Fucking, my mind's been fucked up mentally. I hate LA golf shafts.

Speaker 2:

Oh yeah, I still have yours in here when you bring that club by.

Speaker 3:

When I see you.

Speaker 2:

I got two more coming soon.

Speaker 3:

Anyway, I got to deliver a three iron to Matt. I probably won't drive up there, I'll probably hand it to him on Saturday, but yeah, thanks for tuning in Chase the Live Podcast. This was a fun one. Hey, get out there, play some golf, get into different areas, you know it's hot out here. Get yourself a Southwest airline card and swipe, swipe. Swipe Get you some free airline tickets, and they're not free. But you know, go travel, go experience some stuff. Go to Bandon if you can. I'm excited for that one. It's 4th of July week, so everybody, have a good 4th of July Barbecue, something up Special. We'll see you next week. Keep your fingers and don't waste your money on too much fireworks. It's going up in flames Until next week Later. Thank you.
