It seems obvious that being in God’s Presence is paramount to our faith and life as followers of Jesus. When we dig deeper, however, we find that we substitute or settle for a way of life that is less than God’s best. Whether intentionally or unintentionally, we crave a formulaic approach to our relationship with God. It was the same with the Israelites coming out of Egypt. They missed God’s heart and intention, craved their desires, and settled for a formula rather than a relationship. They failed to see that despite God’s intense holiness, He made a way for them to be with Him. In much the same way, we fail to realize the incomparable gift of Jesus, who is both the perfect sacrifice and our great High Priest, who has given us unrestricted access to God the Father.
Do you crave God’s Presence? Are you cultivating a rhythm of being with Him throughout your day? Only through this relationship can we truly fulfill God’s will and desire to be together. In this relationship, we also discover who we truly are in Him.
