Freedom Fellowship

As humans, we try to be better at things. We try to be better friends. We try to be better parents. We try to be better at budgeting. We try to be healthy. With God, however, He simply is. In Exodus, God showed His glory to Moses and declared that He is compassionate and full of loving-kindness. In other words, God showed Moses His very nature is one of generosity. When God created the world, He gave it to Adam and Eve. The famous verse, John 3:16, states, “For God so loved the world that he gave…” For God, giving and being generous isn’t a matter of trying harder. It’s just Who He Is. The invitation of Sabbath is to come to Him and learn from Him. What do we learn? We learn to be like Him. How do we learn to be generous like He is? We practice gratitude. To do that, though, we must slow down long enough to look and see all the blessings God has given us. Then, it’s up to us to choose whether to be grateful. The more we do this, the more we will be transformed into a generous person because we become aware of God’s generosity.
