Global Industry Spotlight is a conversational series focused on providing resources and insight for the creative entrepreneur.
Sigtryggur (Siggi) Baldursson is the managing director of Iceland Music.
He is also a veteran musician, having been a forming member of the Sugarcubes with Björk and others, one of the owners of music collective and record store Smekkleysa (Bad Taste) and has been running programs boosting the export of Icelandic music and musical entrepreneurs for 11 years as the head of Iceland Music. The music community in Iceland is very DIY and Iceland boasts an uncanny amount of internationally known acts, even though the population is less than Tulsa - Oklahoma.
