Navigating life's tumult can often leave us gasping for air, yet it's in these moments that the true test of our resilience emerges. Join me as I share my journey through recent personal challenges, from the joyous anticipation of family birthdays to the stark reality of a loved one's illness. Life throws a multitude of curveballs, and in this episode, I open up about the ways I've learned to catch them with grace. Together, we'll explore the importance of a sturdy support network and the solace found in connecting with someone who truly gets the rough seas we're traversing.

As waves of uncertainty threaten to pull us under, the lifeline of faith and prayer becomes our buoy. I recount the wisdom imparted by a dearly missed cousin who reminded me of the power of divine timing, a lesson that has become a beacon during my own stormy times. Renovations, personal trials, and caregiving have all been part of my story, but as I reassure you with each tale, it's about taking life one measured step at a time. We'll discuss self-care strategies, cultivating a positive mindset, and the transformative impact of gratitude. So, as we sail into the heart of life's overwhelm, remember that this conversation is our shared harbor, offering a message of enduring hope and camaraderie.

So you know, I'm grateful to join you guys and for everyone to join us here on the Real with Laugh podcast.

Speaker 1:

For those of you who are new and just listening, in, the Real with Laugh podcast is a mother and daughter podcast and our co-host is Chanel, but Chanel is not with us today, so you are stuck with me Now. Our episode today is I just want to talk about you know you've talked about life challenges and when you feel overwhelmed, you know, and feeling overwhelmed is something that sometimes you can't you can't control it sometimes. You know what I mean. Like we try to fight certain feelings when we're going through stuff and, mind you, I have been going through a lot of challenges for the last several weeks and it hasn't been easy whatsoever. But you know, you try to remain positive and have that positive attitude right. And you know I'm just one thing we're looking forward to is our birthdays, because my daughter birthday and my birthday is three days apart, so we are looking forward to that. You know Well what do you do when you have challenges, one after the other, and you're feeling overwhelmed. I would love to hear from you all of what you do when you're feeling overwhelmed. You know it's always good to have that support system, someone that you can talk to, and you know, especially if someone that has gone through the same experience or is going through it, that you can have that great conversation, that healthy conversation, because life is not easy and mankind is can be very, very cruel and just very cold. And so you know, you see people out there and you think that, oh, they're happy, they have everything, and you just don't know what that person is, what that person is going through, and, especially when you reach certain age in life, you think different, you start to think different, you start to feel different and you do things differently.

Speaker 1:

Some of the stuff that we used to take for granted, we don't anymore. You know there's this simple stuff. You know that simple stuff. You know I always say love don't cost a thing, right? But there's always, there always will be, challenges.

Speaker 1:

It's just that sometimes it's for a lot of people, it's so hard when you're backed up one after the other, you don't get time to come up for air, right, you want to do things, you have goals set and it's almost as if it has become so hard. It's like a fight, uphill battle. Fight, you know, to achieve that goal because you have to learn to stand in the storm, and as much as you have to learn to stand in the storm, sometimes you in that storm, you literally feel like you're drowning and the only thing we have to do is to hold on to faith. There are many people out there that they, their faith is weak because they become so tired, so tired. They feel like they fight for every little thing that they want to achieve. It's like an uphill battle and some people they just become really emotionally and mentally tired and so you know. You have the other set of people who they keep going and they try, you know, but it is hard and I can understand why some people they just they're tired and they just give up. They say give up is not an option. But you got to be in that person's shoes to know what they're going through, what are their circumstances, you know and how they feel.

Speaker 1:

If you can't talk to one and like, talk to a person and they don't, they've never experienced what you're telling them and expect for them to understand. They can hear you but they don't understand because they've never been through it and because they never been through it they can't give you advice. You know some people they've never gone through it and they're telling you oh, you know, just don't worry about it, just this, just that until it hits them and then they can understand how it feels. So you know it's. I'm telling you guys, life is great, but in this, in this society that we live in, you know, that's where the war zone is, the society that we live in every day, that's where the war zone is and you have to know how to handle yourself and how to fight, because nobody cares really, you know, nobody don't really want to hear your story. You know what I mean and even if somebody's listening, they have their own issues, right.

Speaker 1:

So for me, I've been just going through some stuff, and it's just one after the other to handle this, to take care of this and stuff. I mean it's nothing bad, but it's it's. It can be overwhelming and tiring, especially when you know you're working for a better good, towards a better good. It's, it's. It can be challenging, you know, and it's hard, but at the end of the day I trust God and God alone, and I know that he's watching. He can see what you can't see and he can hear what we cannot hear, and he has written our journey and we know that God is always there. So they always.

Speaker 1:

My cousin that passed away told me when you got trouble, don't cry, just know that God is standing by, and that is very true. But sometimes we feel beaten down. Sometimes you know some people. They feel like God has forgotten them because of how emotionally broken they are, and I can understand that. But God never forgets. He never forgets. Just remember that God's timing and our timing is different.

Speaker 1:

Whatever you're out there going through, a change is going to come, but you got to have that strong faith. You got to bail. You know and know that God is watching and it might take a long to us, because we're so broken and we so want what we want, you know, to achieve, that it feels like forever, but it really isn't. It really isn't For those of you out there who are going through stuff. You know, just hang in there with faith and prayer. That's all we got Because you know, like I said, people can listen to your story, but do they really care? No, you take your burden to God. You know, take your burden to God and just have faith and do it one step at a time In the midst of it all.

Speaker 1:

For me, I'm trying to do it one hour at a time, you know, because it's just not easy. It can be draining too. It can be draining so in the meantime, when you can look at yourself in the mirror and tell yourself how wonderful you are, how beautiful, you are right and you can achieve. So, when things hit you hard, don't give up on it, don't? You know they say, you know God's word is. You know you can be upset, but don't sin. Take your time, as I am taking my time. I'm taking my time. I'm not going to sit here and say to you oh you know, just be strong. You know, don't worry about it, and all that. You are strong in your own right. But, as I said, we're not perfect. We're human and it's not easy to even be strong. It's a fight of a fight to be strong in this society that we're living in.

Speaker 1:

You know, I'm doing my basement and it has been very, very, very stressful process, you know, and I had to do a testing and I don't know how I did yet, but everything is just sometimes everything just seems really overwhelming and just seems so chaotic. You know, I call it organized chaos. But then, as I said, one step at a time, one step at a time, at least try that one step at a time, because you can't get everything done all at once like that, you know. So I'm just trying to make it one step at a time, you know, one step at a time. And you know, chanel was under the weather and I have to deal with that and I'm still dealing with that Right. So, guys, I'm telling you, when you got trouble, just keep praying to God. Just keep praying to God.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes we pray and we think that it pray will be answered. You know I want to leave this with you that you know God says to pray and come unto him. Right, and when you pray, god will listen to your prayer. Right, and he will answer your prayer or he will deny the prayer. So listening and accepting is two different things, as you know. You can listen and you hear what you're saying. Right, and accepting your prayer if he knows it'll benefit you. And denying your prayer is if he sees that it will not benefit to what you're praying for, it won't benefit you. So, and he has a different plan and a better plan. So so when we pray, it doesn't mean that it's going to be answered. Right, that split second, because God's timing is not our timing. And you pray, he will listen and he can accept this acceptance of the prayer.

Speaker 1:

There's also denying of the prayer, because God sees what you don't see and sometimes we pray for things and it doesn't work out. We say, ok, god like why, he knows why. Not to question it, he knows why. So these are the things where I focus on. I look on all the positive and everything that God has done for me and my daughter and I take it from there. And when something goes wrong and something is like really making us sad or you know, we talk about it and we pray about it. You know, and I know, that God is watching. So, guys, we're living in a time where things can be so overwhelming and I just want to leave this with you that nothing beats prayers and to be mindful and to take good care of yourself. You know, it's just, it's been very difficult for for us and we're trying to sort some stuff. But, like I said, my daughter is under the weather and you know, I'm just trying to, we're trying to follow up with that.

Speaker 1:

So, everyone, thank you, thank you for joining me here. You know, always take care of yourself, take care of your mental health, your physical health right, and don't let things get you down. For those of you out there that's going through stuff, it'll pass. It too, shall pass Trust and believe. We only have one God. So thank you again for joining me here. Have a happy Valentine Day, which is my birthday. Happy birthday to me. When it comes, I shall surely enjoy my day tomorrow, god's willing, and you know. Thank you again.
