The Latter-day Disciples Podcast
The Latter-day Disciples are pleased to present weekly podcasts, blogs, online classes, virtual conferences, and more to help you boldly embody the gospel, recognize the signs of the times, and prepare to receive Jesus Christ.
Meghan Farner is a lifelong disciple of Jesus Christ, her most favorite thing in the world being deep doctrinal conversations. She openly advocates the practice of fearlessly seeking truth out of all places the spirit may lead, while being immovably grounded in Jesus Christ. Her background in business, communications, psychology, and human relations, along with her personal studies of scripture, apocrypha, ancient history, and other faith traditions, make her a renaissance woman, and an engaging hostess and presenter. Meghan and her family live in East Idaho.

Ep. 8 | Political Advocacy and the Work of Salvation with Britt Larsen
Our guest Britt Larsen shares her perspective and experience from years of working in Washington D.C. and for a former Florida State Governor. We talk about divine interests and allowing the Holy Ghost to inspire us in how to get involved while also keeping our perspective on the Savior. We discuss how to interact with and influence our immediate circles, especially those who may affiliate differently than we do. Thoughts are shared from a non-partisan perspective throughout, and the golden nuggets we talk about are applicable to individuals on any side of the political aisle!
Britt uses her years of executive management experience and expertise in media training to support others looking to make a change in their career; whether it be discovering a new industry, finding a new job, preparing for interviews or getting a promotion. She founded Livlyhood, a community for women who work, in 2017 as a blog featuring women from diverse professional backgrounds, and has since grown the space into a premier community for working women and thriving career coaching business for people of all backgrounds. (You can find Livlyhood on Facebook, and Instagram as well!)
Early in her career, Britt Larsen became the Director of Communications for a prominent Congressman in Washington, DC. During the 2012 presidential election, she managed the communications efforts during the Iowa Caucus and led strategy for her boss as he moderated the CNN South Carolina Presidential Candidate Debate.
From DC, she was recruited to be the Director of Communications under the Governor of Florida. She served as the Department of State Public Information Officer overseeing state elections and the on-camera official spokeswoman and speechwriter for the Secretary of State and agency of over 600 employees.
Britt then moved into the private sector and since has directed public affairs strategy and communications for political campaigns, startups and established enterprise companies. Past clients include Microsoft, Delta, Pfizer, Children's Miracle Network Hospitals, Merit Medical, Subway, United Airlines, Joann Fabrics, Extra Space Storage and several statewide and national political campaigns. As the youngest and only female Vice President at her last firm, she instituted a completely new structure for client strategy and hired more than 50% of employees.
Britt is the youngest of four and says that her siblings are all incredible disciples who inspire me so much! She is married to her amazing husband Michael and they have been married 5 years. They met in their late 20s and like to say they were both worth the wait. Together the couple faced infertility struggles, but were finally able to welcome their beautiful miracle baby boy finally joined our family in 2020.
