How a Mother Listened to her Calling and Became a Powerful Shamanic Healer
In my interview with Lisa Watts-Smith (aka Shamamamma), she shares her story about going from high-profile / high-stress event planner to shaman...and how she was hesitant to answer "the call." She now practices her shamanic healing sessions in Campbell, CA and often puts on workshops (both indoor and outdoor). Lisa also coached me in my mental fitness practices, which you can read about here.
Lisa graduated from Healing the Light Body School, and has completed basic, intermediate, and multiple advanced trainings in spiritual and shamanic healing methods. She was initiated into shamanic energy medicine practices in 2008. She embraces all parts of life and walks and has received the full rites of the Inka Shaman in Peru from the Q'ero elders.
My and Lisa's history is sweet and we were destined to meet! After I consumed all of Dr. Alberto Villoldo's books, I looked up practitioners of The Four Winds in my area and saw Lisa's name. This was back in 2019 when I was still pregnant with my son, so I reached out to her and we decided I'd come in to see her once I had my son. A little over a year ago I drove the 2 hours to see her and was AMAZED! No one has ever been able to read my energy and heal me the way Lisa has...I've been going to her monthly ever since. In our first session, she performed a Soul Retrieval on me, as well as a healing. She naturally evolved into my mentor and has been helping me with my heart chakra, specifically.
About 8 month ago I went to Lisa after I had recurring visions of being around a fire ceremony with other women. She immediately invited me into her sacred women's circle...the answer to my ongoing loneliness during COVID. I look forward to it every Saturday (and every woman is welcome, just click here to join).
I hope you'll enjoy Lisa's beautiful story as much as I did! It's a wonderful reminder that we all have unique gifts to share...you just have to listen and answer the call.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Well, ladies, you are in for a treat. I have one of my favorite people ever here. Lisa Watts Smith is my shaman healer friend and mentor. I, I have learned so, so much from her and she has become a key person in my life. She has helped me so much with my spiritual development practice, and I just feel like with her help, I've leveled up. Like no other time or person has helped me. Our energies are very aligned and when we work together, it's just amazing how much she feels and senses everything that I'm feeling. And so without further ado, welcome Lisa, thank you so much for being here.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
Thank you so much for having me, Angela. I'm very excited to be here.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Yeah. so I would love if you could just give our listeners a background of how you became a healer including, I know that you had refused to answer the call for a while. So I'd love to hear about how you became a shaman and just how you went from kind of like corporate America to healing.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Great. Awesome. I'd love to share that story. I get that, ask that question a lot and it's such a long story, but I'll try and keep that short. I've had many energetic experiences over my lifetime, even as a child that I didn't really understand. And I always dismissed them. I was a big skeptic about energetic healing when it came to the metaphysical stuff and the spiritual world. And then in the early two thousands, my husband asked me to go with him to go see a shaman in Colorado. I was like, okay, what's that? I had no idea what Ash shaman was and I was not very excited about it. So I thought he was getting a little new age on me and I was curious and critical. And I was like, well, I can take the opportunity to go spend time with my friends and have a great time, or I can choose to stick with my husband and go to Colorado with him and find out what a shaman is.
Speaker 2 (02:58):
So I went with him on that trip. And even though I had other exciting things to do, I'm like, okay, let's do this. So what we did was he had been reading Alberto Y's books and we took a workshop with him in a very sacred space and I'm not gonna lie. I rolled my eyes the entire time I was there. But at one point he had us give readings to other groups of people and to the, and do group exercises. And every person that I was asked to read was blown away by my observations. They were asking me how, how long have I been doing readings? Wow, that's so strange. How can you do that? And I was just like, do what? I'm not doing anything. So I was really uncomfortable with that situation in that scenario. But we were playing it out in that workshop and I was gonna play full out if I was there to support him and just be a part of that engagement.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
And so that night of that workshop, we were on the sacred ground, up in the mountains and I was asleep and I was awoken by a forceful light energy that ran through at the bottom of my feet all the way up my legs and through my body and out my tongue. And it felt like, you know, those sparkers that you hold during the 4th of July, it felt like that it was on the tip of my tongue popping off of my tongue. It was crazy. It was like the sparkler of life was through me and my life completely flashed before my eyes. And I freaked out. I was like, what is this?
Speaker 2 (04:29):
And I woke Steve up and I'm like, what's happening? What's this place they puts what's happening. So the next day I told one of Alberta's helpers, I'm like Ruby. I had experience last night and I, I practically was like accusing her of drugging me or drugging us her. I was, and her gentle reply was, Hmm. That kind makes sense. You're in one of the most sacred places in the country, I'm like, okay. And you're opening up to a whole new possibility. It's just so calm and so nice. And I was like, okay, I can't argue with someone who's so calm and so nice. Right, right. And so I had some really meaningful and memorable experiences in the rest of the class after that. It was pretty cool actually. So, wow. Then I so that's kind of what happened in at the Shal mountain center in Colorado.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
So that was kind of the start, the kickoff of everything, really. And again, I had had experiences when I was a child, but I didn't really know how to navigate that and I would always dismiss it. So then so then we had that workshop and it was great and we were done and we were on our way home and I was like, okay, thought I spent time with you. It was great. And then I just dismissed that experience as well. Wow. I know, I know I'm kinda not that, not that simple, but who is simple. Right. and so I returned home to my usual routine of event planning. And, but I could not shake that, you know, that new awakening with me and things were starting to stir and it was really just a really interesting time. And so I was having all these dreams every night about healing people and especially this one dream about healing, my neighbor's nanny in her stomach. And I was, I, it was bizarre. And
Speaker 1 (06:23):
Did you ever end up healing her?
Speaker 2 (06:26):
No, but I talked to her about it and kind of helped her through some things, but it wasn't, I think it was more the message of how to do what I do.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Oh.
Speaker 2 (06:34):
And how to help other people. So opening up that conversation was very helpful to her and to me.
Speaker 1 (06:42):
Wow. That's, that's really cool.
Speaker 2 (06:44):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:46):
Like I really wasn't fully on board yet obviously, because it was all happening a little too fast.
Speaker 1 (06:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
So so I would have the dreams and have the dreams, and then I would tell my husband about them. And after many conversations with him, he's like, when are you gonna pay attention to this? Lisa, this feels like a calling. I mean, why aren't you listening? And I was like, well, I can't just take time outta my work to go do anything like this. And I was like, well, why not Your own business? And I'll take care of Jordan. And Jordan was only one, and this was Wayne. This was 15 years ago. Oh my God. She was a baby.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (07:32):
I know it was wild, so wild. And so he's like, why don't you just go take that class with Alberto and park city and just see what it's about. And you don't have to do anything. You don't have to sign up for anything. Just go check it out and spend a week in park city, going into a deep dive with him and his superstars and connect with them and just see what happens. It was kind of life changing because I I'll, I'll be very honest with you. I was very, and I was eye rolling the whole time and I wouldn't even give out my real name. I said, oh, I'm Shama mama. Cause I'm, I'm at shaman school and I'm a mom.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
How funny?
Speaker 2 (08:11):
That's how that name came up.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
Yeah. That's
Speaker 2 (08:15):
So crazy. Is that crazy?
Speaker 1 (08:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:19):
So yeah, it was wild. And so over the next three years, I continued with my event business or after the next, you know, while going to school and then while traveling to Peru and while traveling to the jungle and while doing all the classwork and all the master classes with Alberto and a group of people, I started to build the momentum and start to really learn what this was all about. And it wasn't just shamanism. We were studying, we were working with, and we were working with Chinese. We were working with every modality of healing that you can imagine. Right.
Speaker 1 (08:53):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (08:53):
And it was really, it was really cool. And I it was a really interesting experience. And then after I got done with that training, I still wasn't buying into the fact that I was gonna do this.
Speaker 2 (09:09):
And then all these gurus are popping up in my life. And I'm being invited to all these events with like these, my, from the, I mean, I would call it spiritual bumps. Like if I was to name what was happening, it was spiritual bumps. Like I would run into Rob bell at an event or I'd run into sad guru or I'd run into the do Lama's right hand man, or I'd run into MEMA. So, and be in ceremony with them, like all these African shams, all these world renowned, shamans and gurus and all that kind of stuff. It would just happen constantly. And I was like, okay. And I was still like, okay, okay, I'm listening. I'm paying attention. And my business clients at, for my event planning company, like all the VPs and CEOs and all the HR people that I was working with because I was doing large corporate events. They were like, what is happening to you? Whatever is happening to you. I want some of that. Cause you've seen somebody go from it completely type a tightly wound woman to somebody who's all of a sudden relaxing into things and having new perspective on things and communicating differently and starting to ask different questions. So I started to share with them what I was learning and it was very organic the way that it all unfolded, many of them became my first clients. It was awesome.
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (10:33):
Yeah. And, and so how long did you do the training? Like flying back and forth and,
Speaker 3 (10:39):
And all did
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Three years with Alberto.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
Three years of, and I would go every other month for like a week. And then I went to the, and then I went to the the Andy's with him and I went to Machu Pichu and the jungle. And then that was over five. That was five years later. I went to the jungle with him. And during the training and the, when we were in the very last part of the training, he looked at me and he said, you're, you're much, you're much stronger than you think you are. You're you could be an even stronger shaman than I am. And I was like, what?
Speaker 3 (11:14):
Wow, weird. He
Speaker 2 (11:18):
Did say, and I was, and I wrote that down in my notes. So that made me feel a little more confident, gave me a little more it helped. Right.
Speaker 1 (11:26):
Right. And what, what's like a favorite memory of yours from traveling there and, and learning and,
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Oh, my favorite memories. That's a really good question. One of my favorite memories is being at Machu Picchu with my Mesa, which is what I am looking at right now on my, in my office. And everyone was to leave the Machu space during the lunchtime and go off property to have lunch. And I was like, well, I'm not gonna do that. So I sat in a cave. I sat in a cave overlooking the mini Machu P the little one across the way. And I was just in the cave meditating rather than having lunch. And a Hawk came into the cave and, and drops something on my Mesa, just a little something on my Mesa. And I was like, whoa, wait a minute. What just happened there? And it wasn't something that you prefer, but I have heard this as good luck dropped a little poo on my, on my Mesa. So it was like, here you go take this. Oh
Speaker 1 (12:29):
My God. That's
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Favorite memories of, of that part of the experience. It was. That's pretty cool. Really cool.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
Yeah. I don't think, I don't know if I ever told you this, but when I was pregnant with my son, who's now too, I was reading all of Alberto's books and I actually went online and found you when I was pregnant and had written to, because I, I just felt, I, I looked up his practitioners and for some reason I chose your name and I reached out to you and you said, well, once, once you're not pregnant, then let's get together and you can come in and then I remembered you. Yeah. and then I went back for some reason, I, I was reminded of it. I think maybe I had read his new book and I thought, oh, I'm gonna go email her again. I don't know why I felt so connected to you. I mean, I think there's people that were listed much closer to me, but for some reason I just felt connected to you. And so, and then I came down for my first appointment and it's incredible. I mean, yeah. What you do, it's
Speaker 2 (13:33):
Amazing. You've never shared that with, with me. And I cannot even believe that. I don't remember having that conversation with you.
Speaker 1 (13:39):
Yeah. It was. I mean, it was three years ago. Oh
Speaker 2 (13:42):
My
Speaker 3 (13:42):
Gosh. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:45):
Isn't it funny how things have unfolded on this path and this journey for us as, I mean
Speaker 3 (13:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Since you've come to my office, I mean, everything's kind of changed for you, you in your world and me and just everything keeps growing and dividing in such a beautiful way.
Speaker 1 (14:01):
Yeah. It really has. Yep.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Yeah. So crazy.
Speaker 1 (14:07):
Yeah. And oh, and I forgot to tell the listeners in the beginning that Lisa has invited me to this beautiful women's circle. So that was like, I went to her and I had told Lisa about this vision that I had kept seeing about being around a fire, holding hands with other women. And, and she invited me to this women's group. And it was just like the peace of my life of my life that I had been missing and needing. And yeah, it was beautiful. So thank you for that.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Of course. I'm so happy. You're a part of this women's group is amazing women coming together, holding space for one another and really showing each other, the reflection of the beauty that they are is such a gift. Right. And I feel like that circle of women is just a gift in my life. And I think all circles of women are gifts. So, I mean, don't you think the power of like holding space for another woman is the most profound, beautiful entryway into grace and love.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
Yes, absolutely.
Speaker 2 (15:07):
Love that.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
Yummy.
Speaker 1 (15:13):
I know I can't wait for Saturday.
Speaker 3 (15:15):
Oh my gosh. I
Speaker 2 (15:15):
Know.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
And so how can you talk to us about how you transitioned, like from, were you doing both at the same time and then how you kind of decided to do this full time?
Speaker 3 (15:30):
Absolutely. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:32):
So for years I wanted to just, well, I, it's not that I, when I, when I started to really like start gaining momentum and doing this work consistently, and I was, I've been in a women's circle for a lot of different women's circles for years doing ceremony. And so I would do like monthly things. I've been doing this with it for a really long time in different circles of women. And then I have a healing practice in here in the bay area. And I was working one on one with clients for years in tandem with doing my events right in tandem with, so I just got busier and busier and busier and my husband and my family and my friends are just like, this is too much, you are working way too much. And I, I enjoy working. I think it's fun.
Speaker 2 (16:21):
And I noticed how stressed I was getting after the events, because what would happen is I would, I would hold space for like 3000 people and do something at the MoMA. And it was all me with my vendors and holding the space for that. And then the next day, and the next week I'd be so depleted from those events that I would physically like crash. Right. So that, that went on for years. But I really decided to stop traveling as much in doing as many sales meetings about year three into my shamonic practice. Like I, I stopped my sales meetings. I'm like, I'm no not traveling for that anymore. So that was a big release cuz I was doing a lot of those and they were big. And then, so that, that gave me a lot more room to do my shaman work and then I kept trying to drop clients over time. Right. But the problem is, is I don't ever wanna let anybody down. And so That was really hard for me.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Yeah. I can imagine.
Speaker 2 (17:21):
Right. Right. So cuz they, and so I continued to do it and do it and do it. And then I, everybody knew they knew three or four years ago that I wanted to stop. I've been seeing it for the last seven years. And the pandemic for me was like the biggest gift in the world because I went out with a bang. So my last event that I did was in December, 2019, and then we went to Hawaii right after and I was like, that's it I'm done. And I didn't know the pandemic was gonna happen, but that was my last event. And I thought, oh, I'll just do one event a year. And then I'm like, I can't, I just don't wanna do this anymore. Right. And so and then the pandemic happened and I'm like, oh I don't
Speaker 2 (18:09):
And the ones, okay. I had a few in contract and, and and, and we had to let go of those contracts and I was like, okay, this is a gift it's like really working. So that's when I really let it go. But, and of course I'm getting calls still. Right. Cuz now we're opening back up to do events and my website's still up and my, on my LinkedIn and all that. However, I'm transferring my business right now to someone that I think will do a great job with my clients. So I've been mentoring her as well so that she can actually like build a strong, beautiful business for herself, with my clients. Oh. So my clients yeah. Feels really good.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
That's great. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (18:48):
It's really cool.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
And so with your transition and just, you know, feeling depleted, like what were your key takeaways or what, what advice would you give to other people that are kind of going through that transition through the
Speaker 2 (19:03):
Transition? Oh, that's a great question. So, you know, when you're letting go of something and you know, corporate America is very good, different than pretty much anything else. It's a whole different animal. And what I would say about that is really tune into the reason why you wanna leave. And if you can leave in a gentle way, that feels good in your body and in your spirit. And if you can leave without burning any bridges and if you can help someone else shepherd into the career that you're leaving so that, you know, it's held with love and light, then that can be the most beautiful and powerful way of leaving something.
Speaker 1 (19:43):
Hmm. I love that.
Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (19:46):
Yeah. Yeah. Because I'm, as you know, transitioning too from corporate finance, the whole mindfulness space, so yeah. That's a great thing. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. I'm
Speaker 2 (20:01):
So happy for you. It's amazing.
Speaker 1 (20:04):
And so what does a day of your work look like now? And I'd love to know just, you know, how, what practices you have to do to kind of like stay sane for yourself. I'm just curious, like what a life or day in the life of a shaman looks like, what it looks like. I mean, I know what it looks like when I come in there, but maybe for our listeners, you know, they can get an idea. Yeah, it was love to hear a little bit more about
Speaker 2 (20:34):
Absolutely. No. So a day in a life of shaman the day in the life of Lisa, it looks like that. No. so, so you know, it's funny this whole label of shaman, it's an interesting, it's an interesting label because it is the work. And anyway, we'll, we'll get back to that later. So what it looks like to me is I wake up every morning and I am very intentional about my day I, I get up and I meditate for at least 20 to 40 to 60 minutes. And I write at least two to three pages of G, which I always ask my clients to do as well. Or at least they can write three gratitudes. Whatever's gonna get them in the momentum of, of calling upon what is good, what is beautiful and being in the space of that energy. So I start my day off in that kind of an energy and just making sure that I'm clear when I first started doing Sean, mark, I wasn't doing that as much. And I will tell you, it didn't really work out in my favor because what would happen is right before I'd be going to my office to help people. I would see everything before I got there. So there was no boundary. And when, when that happens, you get tossled a little bit because if you're feeling everybody else's energy right before you come to the office and you're not grounded and connected to yourself first, that can get a little crazy.
Speaker 3 (21:53):
Mm yeah, that makes
Speaker 2 (21:57):
So so I've put my practices in place so that I'm really taking care of myself. And that means I exercise. I have to move my body. I have to get out in nature. I have to touch the trees. I meditate, I do gratitude. That's my everyday go-to and it keeps me calm and present in a clear channel so that when somebody does come into my office, so then I'll go to the office, which is downtown Campbell. And I come to my office and I, what I do is I, I do a whole ceremony before anyone comes into the space and I light all the candles and I drop in and I open what's called sacred space, which is calling on the four directions in the earth and the heavens to come and do this work through me for other, so that I'm not attaching to the outcome of the other. Yet I am in service to other, by being the conduit for which the healing can take place. So that's what I do. That's the truth of being a shaman and connecting in with the energies that are best for the client. So I am a very physical person. And when someone sits down in front of me, I can feel everything that's happening in their body. And what, you know,
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Yeah, yeah, good do. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (23:18):
So it's like, oh, wait a minute. What's that? What's that? And and then we just kind of name it, point it, we, we work with it, right? We're like, we're cuz we feel it. And then, and the clients are usually like, well, how do you know that? Like how can you feel that whether it's anxiety, whether it's stress, I mean, it can be anything there. So many different things I can tell, I can see, I can feel. And so that's the beauty of being in this sacred space. I see differently because my eyes are open and attuned to the energies around me. So it's not like when I'm just outside or when I'm at home, I'm really thoughtful and mindful and connected to the energies that are serving the client for their highest good. So we tap into that and we talk for a moment or two to get them comfortable because a lot of people that I see don't go see shaman's normally, so I can handle the nonbelievers if you will.
Speaker 2 (24:06):
Mm. Because I was a skeptic, so that's a beauty of the work that I'm doing. Right. I can work with people. Who've never done anything like this before. Right. And and then we'll talk and they'll touch into what's, you know, what's really blocked within themselves. And then they'll work with some of my stones and I'll have them do some breath work on my table and they'll be laying on my table and I'll be pulling out the energies that are no longer in service to their body. So when I'm thinking about people I'm dealing with here in the Silicon valley, for example, I always like to give, especially my tech guys or tech women, this picture, you have a computer screen right in front of you. There are tons of folders on your screen inside of some of those folders, there's, what's called malware or inside our energy body.
Speaker 2 (24:53):
We have triggers. We have traumas. We have things that we've experienced in the past. My job as the shaman is to release that energy release, that folder clean that folder off that desktop, clean that energy. That is, that is toxic in your body so that you don't and get sick, right. Or if you are sick so that we can clear up the, the energy, you know, everything is energy. So energy compacted turns into matter. And when you're, when you have like hard energies or energies that are, don't feel good in your body or are causing sickness or whatever, the idea here is to really break in that energetic area in order to clean that space and clear it so that the client can operate on a different operating system. That's more clean.
Speaker 4 (25:37):
Does that make sense?
Speaker 1 (25:38):
Yeah. That's a great way to explain it.
Speaker 2 (25:41):
So so we do that work and they, the client's doing breathwork and then, and then when you clean out all that energy and you've, and you've taken that out and you release that to the water and you release that energy, then you come back, we come back and we, and then we're calling upon love and grace and whatever is meant for the client will come in to support and fill the client with love and light so that we can rebalance the energy system differently. That's where the real healing and magic takes place.
Speaker 1 (26:09):
Yeah. And it's, you know, I've, I've worked with other people that call themselves healers in the past, but I've never experienced anything close to what I experience when I come to see you. And I'm very sensitive to energy and I can feel when Lisa is putting the, the light back in me, I feel like sparks. And I know probably not everybody can feel that if they're not super connected, but I can actually feel it like coming through. And it's just such a beautiful feeling. And it's like, you just feel so calm and like held and loved. It's just amazing. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (26:49):
Yeah. I love, I mean, I love the energy that I get to work with in here. It's so beautiful. And to watch the clients change right in front of your eyes and see their actual face change. I mean, it's bizarre to me, like still, it shouldn't stop you, but honestly, it's a little, I'm like, wow, I'm constantly in awe and amazement at what happens in this office. I really am. And what happens in ceremony? It's, it's, it's amazing to me. And I hope that I always have the awe and wonder that I have had to this day, because if I start to not be like that, then, then that's not, that's not healthy.
Speaker 1 (27:26):
Yeah. Right. Yeah. Yeah. Well yeah. And I had experienced one time with you when I think I had been coming for quite a while and then I had experienced kind of like the whole light, the feeling of like electricity and light through my body as well. And I feel like it was kind of like a leveling up. Yes. And yeah, it's just, it's, it's amazing. And then you also did with me, I think it was on the first time it was was it called a shamonic journey? Is that what you did?
Speaker 2 (27:58):
Oh yeah, I do shamonic journey. I do a lot of shamonic journey. I actually just did one 10 minutes ago. Before I go on this call with you. So we, there, we do journey. I do journey work with my clients who are requesting that. And or if we feel like, well, there's a stuck place that we can't see and we can't get to we'll do journey work around that we can do journey work to the, under the underbelly, right. Go into that soul area and really see what's going on. And then do what's called soul retrieval where we bring people back to themselves, we bring the energy back to back in their body. Right. So what happens a soul retrieval for example, is when, when we're kids or not necessarily kids, but when we have some kind of a trauma in our life, what happens is a part of our energy wants to split away and take care of itself because it's in fear, right?
Speaker 2 (28:45):
That's just that little piece that needs to take care of itself. And so it kind of hides out a little bit. And so if we can like go and journey to the place where we can find that part or that piece in, in psychology, you'd use it as like ifs internal family systems or there's different languages around this. But the idea is to really go in and get that piece back and bring it back to the client and bring it back into their body so that they operate with a full operating system in their body. Makes sense. Right.
Speaker 1 (29:16):
Yeah. Okay. That's what it was. That's what we did on my first visit retrieval full retrieval. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
And it's so cool because don't you think it's cool because I would never know anything about your life at all. And then I can go in and see all that. You're like, how do you know all that? I don't know. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
I mean, yeah. Lisa, so we did the, the soul retrieval and then she told me what she saw and I had seen almost exactly the same thing. So it was just the both magical thing that I had ever experienced. Because I did a healing with you and then we did the soul retrieval or maybe the other way around. But
Speaker 2 (29:56):
We probably did the healing first. Cause I like to do a clearing first, that way we have more room to like really see some changes in growth.
Speaker 1 (30:03):
Okay. Yeah. Yeah. That was so cool. Oh,
Speaker 3 (30:10):
I love it.
Speaker 1 (30:11):
And so if, if someone feels like this is their calling or, you know, what would you recommend for other women maybe wanna get started in the healing space? Do you have any recommendations for them?
Speaker 2 (30:27):
Yes, I would really recommend if I had one, one thing to say is really tune into yourself. What is the motivation behind doing it? What are you, why, what, what are you being called to and, and really check in with your body and see, are you being called to this to truly help and serve? Or is this, what, where is it coming from and then, and then tune into your body, what is it that you're needing? And then what do you need to learn and how do you wanna express yourself in the learning? And then how do you wanna heal your own self first? Because I truly believe a healer cannot be a healer unless you have done your work. And if I can give any advice, it's really taking care of yourself first, which I always go back to. But this idea of becoming a healer, I do notice that some people say, oh, I'm a healer,
Speaker 3 (31:19):
Right?
Speaker 2 (31:19):
And then they don't, they haven't done any work on themselves and you can spot it from a mile away.
Speaker 3 (31:25):
Right.
Speaker 2 (31:26):
And and I'm not judging necessarily, as I get curious about what is the motivation and intention. And I guess that would be the question you would ask yourself, what is my motivation and intention for becoming a healer? Why do I wanna become a healer? And what is it that I need to heal and side myself so that I can bring that to someone else.
Speaker 1 (31:47):
Yeah. That's beautiful.
Speaker 3 (31:49):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Yeah. Because we, you and I just, so that people kind of understand we've been working a lot, like on my heart chakra, like opening up my heart. And so I realized working with Lisa, how important it is for me to be able to heal myself and take care of myself before I would ever think of, you know, trying to help other people do the same, I guess. But yeah, that's so important and I feel like self care is super important for women. Especially during, in the pandemic with everything going on and being mothers and yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:30):
Being mothers and wives and doing everything. I'm a mother and a wife.
Speaker 3 (32:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (32:40):
You know, make sure you show up for everything. So how can you take care of everybody else if you're not taking care of yourself first?
Speaker 1 (32:47):
Exactly. Yep.
Speaker 2 (32:48):
There's no way.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
No, there's not and yeah, super important. And so Lisa has also coached me and my husband through a program called positive intelligence PQ. And that was life changing for me as well. And I'd love for you to just chat a little bit about that and how people could, you know, be served by, by going through the program or being coached by someone.
Speaker 2 (33:19):
Absolutely. Now that's been really fun. So the Shama, so obviously I like, I must like to be busy because I, when the pandemic hit, I was asked to be a pioneer in the positive intelligence program with a colleague of mine. And I was like, okay, why not? So, but I didn't really know what it was. I was just invited in. And so I just figured we'd just do it for fun, then it would just be fine, whatever. I didn't know. And I started doing the program of positive intelligence with Shaza and there's an app on your phone and it's a whole coaching program with videos and private coaching and then group coaching and pods. And it's pretty amazing. And what it did for me was it brought language to the energy work that I'm doing so that I can actually help, like the people who don't believe in anything genetic, how do you bring them back to compassion, empathy, thinking from a Sage perspective versus a saboteur, like what, how are high achievers going to turn down the volume of their judge and, and stop pushing so much and start to be pulled towards things.
Speaker 2 (34:29):
So the positive intelligence program is very structured and very helpful for people who are not, who are closed off to the shamonic work. Does that make sense?
Speaker 1 (34:41):
Yeah. Or
Speaker 2 (34:41):
Am I all over a place with that one? No, but I loved doing as well. OK. I'm like,
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Yeah, no, it's it was really transformational especially like, well for me, but then also my husband who has never been exposed to, you know, the shamonic work or spiritual, any type of, and he was like, so into it. I mean, he was on, he was doing the app, doing all of the they're called PQ reps. You know, two minute breaks basically. And it's, I highly recommend it. It's definitely life changing
Speaker 2 (35:18):
Me too. I think it's life changing too. And the thing I love about it is it takes a pause. You take a pause every few hours and you pause and you breathe and you connect with your body and you touch your fingers together and you rub them together and you try and just like, let everything go. So you become really present. And when you think about presence, presence is where we wanna be at all times. So if you can practice this in your daily life throughout the day, imagine how much more beauty can open up to you because you're more aware you're present. So that goes right into your whole podcast idea. You're bringing moms into mindfulness, you're bringing women into connection with them as you're bringing women into the pause.
Speaker 1 (35:59):
Yep, exactly.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
And that's so beautiful.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
Yeah. And they, and the PQ and the, the mindfulness and the spiritual practice, they all, it all goes together so well, that's what I really like too. I
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Think so, too. So beautiful.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
So if you could tell our listeners one or two things that they sh that they could do each day to help them feel more connected or present, or, you know, start a nice spiritual practice, what would you recommend?
Speaker 2 (36:29):
Okay. So what I would recommend is first start your day when you have your coffee, if you can start your day in the morning and get up just 30 minutes earlier, grab your coffee or tea and just sit down and close your eyes for five to 10 minutes and just breathe and just breathe and just try not to think and just breathe and get into a meditative space and then get really clear. What is your intention for the day? How do you wanna start your day? How do you wanna be energetically in your day? How do you wanna show up for the people that you're engaged with and just consider it, think about that. And then what I would do is just write three to five things that I'm grateful for. This is just a mini practice, right. And just take some time, just thank your body, thank your body for all the beauty, all the beautiful things that it does for you, how it walks for you and connects with you. And then I would get outside and move and be outside in nature. Yeah. That would be my mini practice if I was to give a practice.
Speaker 1 (37:29):
Yeah. No, that's, that's so important. I find I, I have to force myself to get outside and I, I know a lot of people that are working from home feel the same way. So yeah, it is. It's so important to get outside and just take in nature and connect. So thank you for that record.
Speaker 2 (37:45):
Yeah. Even if you can't do that, let's say you live in an apartment. Okay. So this is something I've been working with with some people who are in apartments and they're like, I can't go outside. I that's too cold or I don't wanna get my feet on the ground. I totally get that. So do you have a plant on your patio? Do you have a plant on your patio? Just go and touch the plant and thank it for all the oxygen that's giving you and just touch it, touch it and connect with connect with mother nature, connect with the plants, connect with the earth, connect with the soil. Put your hand on the soil. Just get your hands dirty for a moment. And just remember that we are all a part of mother earth.
Speaker 1 (38:19):
Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2 (38:22):
Which I am so in love with.
Speaker 1 (38:24):
Yeah. I know you. You're good. You go like on hikes every day. I'm like for doing that.
Speaker 2 (38:34):
Yeah. I get up quite early. I'm pretty dead by eight o'clock. I've actually been, I dunno if I've shared this with you, but I've been doing once a month, sacred, sacred hikes. Oh. Where I take group on sacred hikes and we have a picnic and we go on these hikes and we stop and we do we do exercises at different locations and we have four hours to go deeply into nature.
Speaker 3 (38:58):
It's my
Speaker 2 (38:59):
Gods beautiful thing in the world.
Speaker 3 (39:01):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (39:02):
That sounds beautiful. I would love to do that sometime. Great.
Speaker 2 (39:05):
Amazing.
Speaker 1 (39:06):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (39:07):
Coming the next one, cuz I love doing that. So fun.
Speaker 1 (39:10):
Yeah. That would be really nice.
Speaker 2 (39:11):
Yeah. And to watch people open up when they're outside, the most beautiful thing I've ever seen is to see their notices and their connections.
Speaker 3 (39:20):
Mm. Yeah. Beautiful.
Speaker 1 (39:24):
Makes me wanna go on a hike this afternoon.
Speaker 3 (39:26):
Me
Speaker 2 (39:27):
Too.
Speaker 1 (39:30):
Well thank you so much for coming on here. I know you're so busy and I feel really all honored that you took this time. Oh
Speaker 2 (39:38):
My gosh. I love
Speaker 1 (39:39):
Yeah, no, I love you too. And can't wait to come see you in a few weeks, but before we go, can you tell people how they could find you?
Speaker 2 (39:49):
Sure, absolutely. So My website is Lisa Watts, w a T Ts smith.com. And you can, you can find me there and it points you also, there's a page about the positive intelligence. If you wanna look there or you can look at Watts, PQ, w a TT S pq.com, or you can send me a text message. Speaker 3 (40:36):
I
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Had a lot of people say they had my card for years and, and then they called me like three years later.
Speaker 1 (40:42):
Oh, how funny?
Speaker 3 (40:44):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (40:45):
You're not the first person to say that.
Speaker 3 (40:47):
That's funny.
Speaker 1 (40:48):
Yeah. I mean, and I remembered, I was like, wait, I need to look that woman up again. I was like, who was it? And I had to like go researching to find you and yeah. Some amazing,
