Ever had that aching feeling of being just a tiny bit too broken to bring everything together? Trust me, we've all been down that road.

Today I'm starting a conversation about our often fragmented selves and the journey to becoming wholehearted, inspired by the shards of broken glassware on my kitchen counter.

They're like a metaphor for our lives - sometimes fragmented, sometimes a bit too broken, but always worth piecing back together.

Join me as I define the characteristics of a wholehearted person, including self-acceptance, courage, emotional resilience, and the power of living in the present. I'll also share the tools and resources that have been pivotal in my own journey from brokenness to wholeness.

This might be just the spark you need to navigate your own path with renewed confidence. Keep in mind, it's not about being perfect, it's about being wholehearted.

Let's embark on this journey together, one piece at a time.

Marijanel:

Do you see where you want to go in life and you desire to live a wholehearted, fulfilling lifestyle, and yet you just feel like things are just too messy and broken and a bit fragmented all over the place and that your life is just I don't know, a mess? Well, we've all been there. I know that feeling and I know all of the steps that it's taken me of deep inner work, reflection, introspection, to go through the personal work of arriving on the other side, not perfect by any means, but pushing through to what I feel like is living my life purpose and calling with confidence. You know I have had sitting on my counter all week some broken pieces of glassware. Okay, they got on my counter because they broke and I didn't want to just throw them in the garbage bin because I was fearful that someone would like smash down the garbage bag and hurt themselves, cut themselves on the broken glass. So I wanted to find some cardboard, wrap them up and then dispose of them, and so they have been sitting on my counter pretty much staring at me in all of their brokenness. This here that you see on YouTube is a glass that broke in the dishwasher and I found all the pieces of glass so that they weren't, you know, dangerous and put them in the glass. And it's just been sitting there looking at me broken. And I came in from a walk this morning and saw the broken glassware just sitting there and had something on my to-do list which irritated me but became a reminder of how we all feel at times, of how our life is like fragmented and broken, and it just sits there and stares at us on there on our to-do list like it's on our to-do list to deal with our own selves and we feel exhausted from all that we have to do in life.

Marijanel:

In some ways we're burnt out of self-help and you know the Marijanel Show has really pivoted to focus on things like developing confidence and self-worth and knowing and understanding our purpose and call and using our talents and applying that to entrepreneurship if that's what the picture of our life looks like. And all of this would certainly fall into the category of self-help. And I myself I'm delivering this message and you know I myself am exhausted of all of the information out there that is bombarding us with self-help and yet somehow, somehow, we have to navigate through the brokenness of our hearts and the world and find the help and tools to put the pieces back together again. And in the summer, later in the season, i'm going to be releasing some tools and resources that have really helped me to come through the other side of brokenness, into a place of being wholehearted not perfect, but wholehearted. And there is a difference.

Marijanel:

And I came home from my walk after previewing an upcoming podcast where I speak on wholeheartedness and I my heart was stirring and I was feeling this. I'm going to call it a burden for the brokenness, the fragments that we're all going through, where we're trying to sort through the pieces of our life to come through and push through with confidence. We all have this knowing, we have this desire to live our fullest lives possible and yet there's so much that we have to put back together again in order to come through the other side. And I had this burden and I looked at the glassware on my counter and I was like, yeah, i have to do a shorty cast today and I have to pull out a preview of an upcoming podcast where I share on wholeheartedness, just to give you a glimpse of what's coming, but mostly to encourage your heart and spirit that, no matter what brokenness you're going through today in a proverbial way, no matter what broken glassware staring at you from your counter and just irritating you that you can't figure out how to deal with it, there is hope. There is hope for us together, as a community, to work through our pieces and come to the other side wholehearted. We might not be perfect, but we can come into wholeheartedness. And I've begun to define what wholeheartedness means to me, what I feel like it means, even according to the dictionary, but what it means to me to be a wholehearted person. So let me take you into this glimpse preview of an upcoming podcast where I single out just a few minutes where I talk about the power and authenticity of being wholehearted.

Marijanel:

Some of the key characteristics of knowing a wholehearted person, or spotting one, would be the authenticity the wholehearted individual embraces their true selves, living in alignment, as I mentioned, with those core values, beliefs and desires. Knowing my beliefs has been incredibly pivotal for me, even starting the mentorship programs and even for knowing where I want to go with my entrepreneurial life or with even impersonal relationships, because I know my belief system and I'm in tune with it and then able to set those boundaries. Several episodes back, i talked about boundaries and and going with your intuition. If you don't know any of that, you'll be wishy-washy in the wind and, trust me, i've been there before. But you know, developing yourself through the practice of journaling helps you to come into that, that place where you no longer compromise your authenticity, you no longer question your value system and you can cultivate a deep sense of self-acceptance and self-love through this practice.

Marijanel:

It helps you to take courage and this is another trait of being whole and being wholehearted, because you cannot be whole without courage, because you have to step into that vulnerable place to take risks and face the challenges head-on with bravery, to do things afraid and to just, you know, pursue, to pursue the dreams without backing down. And whole individuals tend to have their. They've let go of their judgments and failures and regrets and everything in order to pursue their dreams. So these are like some indicators that just show you what it's like to be whole, and they also carry emotional resilience. So what I mean by that is to be a whole. Whole heart of person requires emotional resilience, which means you're able to navigate and process the abundance and wide range of emotions, both the positive and the negative ones. Okay, you're able to navigate that without getting overwhelmed or shutting down, and, trust me, we all know how many different of the overwhelming sense of emotions and decisions that are out there in the world today.

Marijanel:

It can be very, very confusing, and the art of journaling really helps us to begin to label things and list things and understand what's on our mind and what's bothering us even, and then to sort it and be able to make decisions based on our core values and beliefs. And you know, i feel that we are so decision fatigued. I also am going to be sharing in the upcoming class about a strategy that I call the decision session having a journal time session. It is just about how, where I teach, how I make decisions by journaling, and it is, so you know, transformative in the sense that when you are decision fatigued and you can't sort out your thoughts and you're just like I don't know what to do, you can journal yourself. Through that. You can journal yourself whole, and so these tools are really invaluable.

Marijanel:

You can grow so much self-compassion that's another mark of a wholehearted person is the self-compassion because you know yourself and you begin to forgive yourself, and you begin to show grace on your own mistakes and understand yourself better and like where it's all coming from and there another mark is just living in the present. The wholehearted person really embraces the now and they let go of the past regrets and the future anxieties and just lives here and now, in the richness of life as it unfolds. I hope something there resonated with you and gave you something to ponder through the week as you consider what it means for you to become a wholehearted individual, to become your most authentic self, living out your purpose, calling with confidence. And you know I go back to thinking about those broken dishes that were sitting on my counters, tearing at me all week, and how they reminded me of even my own heart at the times that I've been fragmented, where I feel it felt really broken, like I couldn't fix myself. And I want you to know that if you relate to that, if you feel like you're in a state of brokenness and you think, mary Dinelle, i just don't know how to become this wholehearted person, the mentorship programs that I'm designing are going to be aligned with supporting you and helping you to get there. But I want you to know that it's a journey. It takes time and I hold on to firm belief to hope that there is purpose and calling and destiny on your life, that there is hope for you. If there's anything that you take away from today's short cast, it's that you would know that there is hope and that all the brokenness that you are experiencing can be put back together again to make a beautiful mosaic, to make a beautiful picture, and I want you to know there's hope.
