My guest today is the amazing Lakeydra Houston. Lakeydra is a US Air Force veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom and the Chief Executive Officer of KEY Fit, Knowledge, Empowerment, and You-nity, which mentors on wellness, veteran support, and suicide prevention to increase life productivity.

She earned her Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Human Resources and a Bachelor’s degree in Leadership from Trident International University. Lakeydra is pursuing a Master's in Social Work specializing in military and trauma. She is a certified ASSIST and resiliency trainer with over 7+ years of experience within domestic violence programs, youth organizations, sexual assault prevention, and mental health.

Her community outreach includes working with youth and veterans to discuss trauma awareness and prevention. She is currently a member of American Corporate Partners, Merging Vets & Players, The KEY, and a board member for Victory for Veterans. She is looking to make an impact within the military community and bridge the knowledge gap between our civilian counterparts while continuing to serve others.

We had a great conversation about childhood trauma, military sexual assault, and coping. We also talk about suicide awareness and how we both are helping others on their healing journeys. I am grateful for this connection and look forward to everything in store!
