From Sparks to Light - Inspiring Stories for Challenging Times

Beautiful Trouble - Dan Glass

Suzanne Maggio Season 3 Episode 52

“Ninety percent of the efficacy of the transformation of activism is relational. It’s how we look after each other on an everyday level… It’s the everyday things that keep us loving each other.” says Dan Glass, an award-winning activist, academic, performer and writer.

Dan’s activism is rooted in his experiences as the grandson of Holocaust survivors. Growing up in a family steeped in intergenerational trauma inspired Dan to devote his life to making a difference. He teaches others to harness their pain to stand up for the causes they believe in. To rid the world of the hatred that divides us. At the core of Dan's work is in developing a critical consciousness and creativity to spur people to "read their reality and write their own history".

A native of London, Dan is recognized worldwide for his work in the LGBTQ+ community. A prolific writer, author and speaker, he travels the world inspiring others to channel their personal power and stand up for one another. Dan’s latest book, Queer Footprints, takes the reader “through the city streets to uncover the scandalous, hilarious, and empowering events of London’s queerstory.”
