The meditations have been developed in conjunction with Tara Segree, an educator and mindfulness practitioner with 17+ years of experience. Tara's work has positively impacted the lives of many children across the globe. These meditations are intended for children ages 6+. Before we begin this meditation poem, close your eyes if you feel comfortable, or you can rest your gaze on the floor in front of you or sky above you.
Take a long, slow, deep breath in through your nose, and exhale slowly out of your mouth.
Again, take another long, slow deep breath in though your nose, and slowly exhale out of your mouth.
Listen to these important words that are meant for you.
You are enough.
You are everything perfect that the universe created in you.
You have a light within you that is meant to shine brilliantly.
The world needs your light.
When you are brave enough to shine your light, you give others the courage to shine their light, and you help to make the world a better place.
You are everything you need.
You are beautiful on the outside, but your true spirit lives deep inside, and that is where your true beauty is held.
Don’t compare yourself to others, because comparison is the robber of joy.
Don’t try to be like anyone else, because they are already taken and no one can be like you.
You are you and you are meant to create what your soul desires, which will bring peace and joy to others, and smiles to all you encounter.
You have important work to do here, in this lifetime, on this Earth.
You may never know the ripple effects of your kind words towards someone else, but the world is a better place because of the kindness you give.
Sometimes life gets hard, but you have the strength to respond with grace.
Sometimes days are mundane and boring, but those are days that you are gifted with rest.
Sometimes there is too much to do in a day and you will feel anxiety, but in those moments, know your strength and resiliency.
Some days we feel lonely, but know that good friendships and connections are in your future.
Have patience with yourself. We are all navigating our own paths and figuring out what makes us shine.
Be patient with yourself.
Self love is the greatest gift you can give yourself, because there is only one YOU and you are going to do great things with your life.
Know that you are loved.
So many people love you.
YOU ARE important.
YOU matter.
YOU ARE enough.
