Lesson 13: You Are Unlimited Spirit
Section 5: Bringing Awareness to the Limiting Definitions of Yourself
Paragraphs: 10-12

Discover the liberation that lies beyond the stories we tell ourselves and unravel the 'I am' statements that hold you captive. This episode is a call to discard the labels that limit us, revealing the unbounded expanse of pure consciousness that we truly embody.

As we toss aside each label like an old garment, we step into the role of the observer—pure 'I am'—untethered by the narratives of victim or hero, and open to the celestial awareness that allows us to experience the kingdom of heaven right here and now. It's an empowering journey from self-imposed confinement to the freedom of our true, infinite essence.

We take a practical approach to this transformation, learning how to consciously challenge and change our self-definitions, thus shaping our reality with intentionality. This isn't just philosophy; it's a lived experience, a commitment to embodying 'I am Christ Love' in every facet of life. And as we navigate these changes together, we invite you to become part of a community that's dedicated to mastery and growth—ushering in the upcoming enhancements to the Living the Way of Mastery course that promises to deepen your practice and expand your consciousness.

This episode isn't simply a call to action; it's a celebration of the shared joy and camaraderie we experience as we all navigate our paths to growth. I extend an open heart to each one of you, inviting you to join me on this path of transformation.

Speaker 1:

Hello and welcome back to the Daily Study of the Way of Mastery. I'm Jason Amorosi, your guide and friend, and I'm on fire this morning, just feeling so much love, so much gratitude as we dive into Lesson 13,. You Are Unlimited Spirit to the limiting definitions of yourself. You can't change what you don't see. So this is about seeing, becoming aware of how we are using the very power of our consciousness that creates to create our own limitations. So, Jeshua, we begin, or continue, in paragraph six, where Jeshua says it is very, very important to bring awareness to the definitions you have given yourself and keep insisting upon each and every day. That is like dropping the same pebble into the same stream and creating the same effects, and nothing is transformed. We can't change something that we're not aware of. This makes me think about the definition of insanity that we've all heard doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. That's what this is. But we have to become aware of how we're defining ourselves.

Speaker 1:

Again, what is your story about yourself? Anytime you say I am whatever you put after it that creates and shapes your experience and your reality, with a small R, I'm a divorcee, I'm a single mom, I'm on welfare. I'm a struggling artist, I am 10 pounds overweight, whatever it is that you say. I am a PhD. I'm upper middle class. I am a white, straight, white, cis male. Whatever language you want to use, it creates your experience. I'm a liberal, I'm a Republican, whatever you put out. So look at it, look at your story. I'm a New Yorker. That means something to my ego when I say I'm a New Yorker, and it's like a sense of pride versus someone else might hear that and have a different experience. So, if you haven't yet and I shared this exercise with you in an earlier podcast during this section take out a piece of paper and write down all of your I am's. I'm a sibling, I'm a brother, I'm a son, I'm a grandson, I'm an American. Write it all down. I'm a human being. Just write down everything that you could think of about how you label yourself, how you define yourself, about how you label yourself, how you define yourself. Because when you write down every single one that you could ever think of, and if you just crumpled it up and threw it in the trash, all you're left with is I am. I am Just pure consciousness, pure awareness, and that's unlimited. So we have to become aware of the ways we define the definitions you've given yourself and keep insisting upon each and every day.

Speaker 1:

How many of us are just clinging to stories that are old, decades old? I'm a sexual abuse survivor, but it's like a part of our identity. It's not just something that happened, that we learned from. It's like we cling to it. I'm an alcoholic and people wear that bad and I understand the idea of saying I'm an alcoholic. It's the sense of humility and acknowledging there's a problem. You can't solve a problem until you acknowledge a problem and it's limiting and some people might get triggered by that, but it is limiting. All the I ams. However you see yourself, you're limiting yourself and we keep insisting upon it. We tell the same stories about who we are over and over and over again. Maybe you tell the same story about yourself.

Speaker 1:

You're really trying to craft your identity on a dating app or on LinkedIn, with jobs, with employers, with potential suitors, whatever it is, with your own kids. Here's how I want my kids to see me. We keep insisting upon it each and every day and this is like dropping the same pebble into the same stream and creating the same effects, but saying and hoping and wishing that we want something different. Nothing ever gets changed, jeshua says. It also brings up some fear. Your egoic mind will ask what would happen if I let go of the definitions that I'm familiar with? Here's the answer Nothing will happen, because in reality, those definitions have never truly limited your unlimited capital S self from going on creating and experiencing throughout all dimensions. The only change that could be said to occur is that little, tiny ray of your beingness that is currently dancing through the experience of being a body, mind and space and time will begin to throw open the doors and actually access cosmic awareness. This is what is available to you now in a body. This is why you don't have to die to go to heaven. That heaven, the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom of God, is within you now. You don't have to wait to die to get there. You can have that experience now, one because in time, time is an illusion. It's all here, it's all now. But anyways, this is the message of Jeshua and many other awakened, enlightened beings it's all here and it's all now. You don't have to wait to go somewhere.

Speaker 1:

But this brings up fear to the part of us that thinks that we're a separate, small ego, body, mind, body, brain that is in survival mode. That scares the crap out of us. Well, who am I without my story? Who would you be without your story? Both your victim stories that you tell about yourself that create limitation for you, and your hero stories that you tell about yourself that give you a sense of specialness. Who would you be without all of that? And again it all comes back to you would just be I am.

Speaker 1:

God, is Limitless, unlimited. Jeshua says well, what would happen if you gave up your stories? And he says nothing will happen, because in reality, you are truly unlimited. Your capital S, self, what you are, the ocean and the wave of love has never been limited, not one time, to any degree. And you are just creating, from your unlimited consciousness, even the sense that you can be limited. You're using the power of your unlimited creative consciousness to create this experience of feeling like a body, mind, a body brain, a small self that you can be threatened and you just. And we suffer when we do that. I'm saying you, I'm talking about me. We suffer when we create that limitation.

Speaker 1:

But Jeshua is giving us the good news. He's showing us the whole thing. He's showing us that we're not just the painting. We're the painter, so we can create whatever painting we want. We're the painters, we can create whatever painting we want. He says you can have this experience of being aware of your capital S self, of your true self, of your Christ in nature right now. Right now, while a part of you thinks you're a body brain, another part of you knows that that's hogwash. But we spend so much time giving credit because everybody else seems like a body brain, because that's what the world confirms. Meanwhile, the world is insane, but we spend all of our time reinforcing this idea that we're a body brain, that we're here to survive for 75 to 100 years, or some people are trying survive for three, forever, when they're not even. They're missing the whole picture. So you can have cosmic awareness now and we're being shown.

Speaker 1:

The way Jeshua says, if you want the experience of walking on this planet as an enlightened master, first come to understand the foundation upon which the way of transformation is based. Second, bring awareness to the definitions of yourself that have become unconscious for you and then deliberately refine in italics, deliberately refine yourself as you enter into the field of your experiences. Let's read this again If you want the experience of walking on this planet as an enlightened master? I do, why not? I think that'd be really fun, really loving, really expansive, really unlimited.

Speaker 1:

Compared to when I identify as the body brain, it's the opposite of all those things. It's survival mode, it's fear, it's feeling small. It's feeling afraid, insecure, less than at the mercy of lacking. Gotta go out and find and compete with other people to get my needs met physically, mentally, emotionally, like ugh. When I identify with my body brain, that's my experience, that's everyone's experience. It's the nature of the ego. The body brain that's my experience, that's everyone's experience. It's the nature of the ego. The body brain is another word for ego. It's the nature of the ego. The tiny man idea of separation. When we identify as that, we suffer because we're in falsehood, because the ego says we're separate, which is false. So of course we're going to experience some dis disconnect in our being when we're putting our attention on that.

Speaker 1:

But to experience walking on the planet as an enlightened master, first come to understand the foundation upon which the way of transformation is based, and that's everything in the way of the heart. I and my father are one, the foundation that you are a wave in the ocean of love, but the wave is still the ocean, it's just a different expression of the ocean and it is all the properties of the ocean and ocean and wave. Even those are just words that try and label or identify something that just is an energy. That's life. God is not a person or a personality, it is the very substance of anything in existence and it is intelligence and powerful and creative and love, and that's what it is. So, understanding the foundation on which the way of transformation is based is everything we've learned up until now, this context of spiritual psychology. We've learned up until now, this context of spiritual psychology.

Speaker 1:

And then, number two, bring awareness to the definitions of yourself, small self, that have become unconscious for you. And I'm telling you how do you do that, what's your story, how do you define yourself? And that will show you your definitions, and every definition has some meaning for you. When you say brother, it means something to you that's independent than anyone else. Everyone else has their own kind of flavor of it. When you say college grad, that means something to you, specific to you.

Speaker 1:

Now, you might have agreements with other people, but it has a meaning to you. Might have agreements with other people, well, but, but it has a meaning to you. And when you say man, woman, it has a meaning to you and you're defining yourself as that. Well, that's true. That's fact. I'm a man, I'm a woman. It's just another thing. After I am, it's just another definition. I'm a Christian, I'm a Muslim, I'm a Jew. They're all labels. Anything you put after I am is a limitation.

Speaker 1:

So just become aware of the definitions and start with the obvious ones. What's your story? What are your traumas? What are your experiences that have molded and shaped you? Not to say that they're not important, but it's the attachments that we have to them, where we limit ourselves and then deliberately refine yourself as you enter into the field of your experiences.

Speaker 1:

What does he mean by deliberately oh sorry, deliberately redefine yourself? Deliberately redefine yourself Makes a lot more sense as you enter into the field of your experiences. Deliberately redefine, don't let anything define you. This is your creative power. You get to choose how you will define yourself.

Speaker 1:

I am that I am. I am Christ love. If that's all that, I define myself as I am Christ love. That was it. The one thing you don't have to. I don't have to have a million different labels, like I already have a million different labels that my ego attaches. I am Christ love, deliberate redefinition, and I bring that energy into the field of my experiences. I am Christ love, deliberate redefinition, and I bring that energy into the field of my experiences. I am Christ love at the DMV, at the grocery store, in the bedroom, in the school room, at my work, in the shower with my family at Thanksgiving. I am Christ's love. Paying my taxes, looking at my body in the mirror instead of judging myself, I am Christ's love. I am Christ's love. Every experience, I am Christ's love.

Speaker 1:

You don't think, if you did, that, your life would change. The one identity, the one identity that you repeat over and over again. You invest in, over and over again, deliberately redefining myself. This is the work that I did with I've mentioned my coach, steve Hardison, who was creating a document that would deliberately redefine myself, and it's powerful, and so we're going to end on this. Look at the ways again, this stuff, it's being repeated. We said the same stuff yesterday. Yeah, we need to hear this stuff over and over and over again, not just hear it apply it over and over and over again. At least my experience is not only do I learn it, but it sinks in. It like sinks in over time, and out of the blue, I'll have an awareness, an inner experience where it's like, oh, it clicked for me, where I feel it. An inner experience where it's like, oh, it clicked for me, where I feel it, I just like know it in my being, instead of the concept of it, the idea of it.

Speaker 1:

How do you define what's your story? Write it down. This is my story as I've known myself, as I've told it to myself and as I've told it to others. This is my story as I present it to the world. And now I'm starting to see how it limits me. Yes, I've grown through it, but when I'm attached to it, it limits me. When I give that story meaning, it limits me and I can create a new story. And this is how I become an enlightened being with cosmic awareness, now in a body. And it's a practice, but we're learning the way and we're putting the way into practice. We go from theory to practice to mastery. All right, love you guys.

Speaker 1:

Short episode today. Maybe some of you guys are saying hallelujah. I love you guys so much. I'm so grateful to be on this journey. Big things are happening. At least big things are happening for me Like these are some of the hardest times of my life and some of the biggest, expansive, most graceful, love filled times of my life life.

Speaker 1:

So I'm speaking from my own experience that stick with this stuff. It works if you work it and you don't quit and you stay with it and you grapple with the things that maybe your body, brain, your brain doesn't really get, but your heart is saying, yes, this feels good, keep following that and that's why we have, that's why community is so important. So, if you are feeling called to grapple with this with others, and apply this stuff, to go from theory, reading this inspirational book to putting it into practice in your very daily life, that is your ashram, to developing mastery around this. And hey, I'm not saying I'm a master, but what I will say is I'm on the path to mastery because I keep showing up and things get more integrated over time and my being, my consciousness, is expanding over time. I feel that I know that I can say that very humbly and I'm so grateful for it and I'm not doing it. It's this calling of my heart that keeps me showing up and so that's available.

Speaker 1:

If that's something that you want, please check out the Living the Way of Mastery course. I'm making some shifts to it to expand it, to make it more accessible for people and to include more people.
