Speaker 1:

Hey listener, welcome back. I'm your host, dr Beth Trammell, and this is Things you Learn in Therapy, and it's summertime and I love summertime, and so I have a list of about eight episodes that are going to come out this summer, and I'm also recording a bunch of episodes for the fall season as well, so you may have noticed that I have missed a few weeks of posting. It has been kind of a busy season for me, but I'm looking forward to being back into the recording studio getting some additional great content out to you, and so I want to give you a preview of what the summer is going to look like. I have a few sessions planned, including caring for aging parents. Few sessions planned including caring for aging parents, deciding what you want the summer to look like and how you can do that.

Speaker 1:

Play and playfulness I'm writing an article this summer with actually a guest who came on, colleen Martinez. We're writing an article on play and playfulness, and so I want to share some of that. I want to talk about teaching rest this summer, and that's going to start with us practicing rest a little bit better. How do we manage some of the things that go along with having your kids, who are grown and flown maybe, or maybe they're not flown and maybe they're just grown and eating all your food. So we're going to talk a little bit about that.

Speaker 1:

We're going to talk about teenagers preparing for the school year at the end of the summer, and then there was an article that I found on sort of 50 easy ways to be a fantastic parent, which I sort of love those sort of clickbait articles but I want to talk a little bit about a few of the things that are there and the how to do those things. I think those types of articles can be great for giving ideas, and I find that a lot of parents are like well, how do I do that? And so if you're a therapist, we're going to talk about how we can help teach those things, and if you're just a listener, I hope that some of these episodes will be of interest to you and would love to hear from you. If you have any thoughts or feedback or topics that you want, I'd love for you to reach out. My email address is listed here, but hey, y'all, let's have a good summer.
