Speaker 1:

You know, uh, it's super cute movie and it feels weird not wearing headphones right now, but I'm trying something a little different today. Okay, on this movie uh, super cute, loved it. It's a sci-fi movie. It takes place between aliens no, I'm sorry, alien and aliens and it's super cute. It's like a standalone uh movie. Uh, okay, let's get into. I thought it was super cute. It's a it goes back to basics kind of thing, just like how everyone's been talking about. It's a just classic, a there's a oogly boogly over there and it's gonna kill us all kind of story. Uh ties in pretty well with all the other aliens movies. I just had a horrible. Uh ties in pretty well with all the other aliens movies.

Speaker 1:

I just had a horrible experience when it comes to this movie, not because of the movie, just because of a cinema line that I went to. This has nothing to do with the review, but whenever watching the initial first time watching this movie, I saw it at a theater that I normally never go to and while I was there, I the movie's dark movie because it's like oogly boogly horror movie. It's dark, it's on a spaceship and all that. I I was, uh, I could barely see anything and I wear glasses sometimes and I put them on, I was like nope, this actually made it worse and just took them back off and I was like this is bad. And then, like the audio was off too and I was like I'm I have bad hearing too, so maybe it's just me on this one. But then, getting out of it and going straight back home, I was like I'm kind of upset with this Because I have heard incredible things about this movie and I'm not a person who listens to critics a lot and stuff. But I did and I was like I didn't see anything good coming out of the, out of this. Uh, just remember coming out, just being like this was a this wasn't fun at all kind of thing or it was okay experience. And I was just like, uh.

Speaker 1:

So then I immediately went back to another theater, my go-to theater, the amc theater. I always go to and watch it. I was like, oh, oh, it's actually really clear. You, you can actually see in the dark. This has like the correct lighting for the movie and the audio was right. I was like, oh, thank God I'm not going deaf or anything. That's one of my fears and stuff is to go deaf or having my eyes be cut because it's like I only care about movies. Oh, I'm sorry, the only skill I have in life is just watching a lot of movies and a lot of shows, which is not a risko, but that's the only.

Speaker 1:

And then, um, her ragtag team is going to a salvage no, I'm sorry, a floating spaceship to get some equipment so they can like jet out. It's supposed to be like one like it's the last shot, then we'll get out, kind of story. And then, uh, she also has a quote-unquote brother who is a cyborg or android kind of thing, and, oh, okay, so they get on and there's like, hey, there's facehuggers on here and this is like a direct sequel to the original aliens movie, where it has like a couple tie-ins. This is not the same ship, or I'm sorry. At the very beginning they do a thing where they connect the two, and then, uh, this is like some other experiments and others you know marked. And then, um, yeah, it's like the leftovers, they use the original I forgot his name the original android from the original movie, like his likeness, but it's a different android technically.

Speaker 1:

Oh, there was a wasp in my room no idea how that came in there and I went out screaming. I got the room, sorry, hidden a couple times so my grandmother had to come and save me. I guess you could see who was the past of these. Oh, who's the head of the household in this family? Um, yeah, no idea what I left off on, let's just dive into. Oh, the human. Um, what's that thing called the human, the human hybrid thing? That was a pretty cool concept. It's not the first time we have seen. You know, chestbursters oddly has some of the human dna, because that's where they come out from. I'm looking around the room to see if there's any more fucking wasps.

Speaker 1:

I hate bugs and insects and reptiles. Those are like the things. I dislike them or I'm scared of the most. It makes me very like cringe, cringe, cringe. Okay, so the I thought was an interesting thing because it was like she got she, she got herself shot with it and then it immediately, you know like corrupted her and stuff like that. That's an interesting thing. Um, wow, yeah, I'm sweating and stuff too. Yeah, that was, that was an interesting moment.

Speaker 1:

Uh, overall I think the movie was super cute. Uh, let me just record it. Yeah, overall the movie was just super cute and I definitely recommend it. It's a yay, it's definitely a no. Wait, I cannot vote on this movie because of the uh, the experience I had, because the first time I watched it was definitely a nay, but then, watching the second time around, I could see how it's a good movie. But because I already had a bad experience with the movie and I watched it back to back, the second experience, even though it was a better experience or like it was actually the proper way to watch it, it was still a uh, bad movie. So, yeah, that's what that's how it's looking like.

Speaker 1:

I will draw my vote. It is invalid. It is what it is. I cannot, in good conscience, recommend or not recommend this movie. Well, I guess watching, yeah, who doesn't hurt? Right, suffer yourself and your self-esteem, pansy. No, I no, I'm kidding, okay, uh, let me grab my journal. Okay, grab my journal here.

Speaker 1:

There's a couple other things that I have seen. Let me raise the mic down a little bit. Oh, I also saw the movie Cuckoo, cuckoo, cuckoo. I'm pretty dumb. I thought I said Cuckoo at first because I can't read, so I just like sounded out, sounded, said that I was like that doesn't sound right. Then I thought about it. I was like oh, it's cuckoo, oh dumb.

Speaker 1:

Right as a pretty cute movie starts uh, hunter in this movie I forgot her last name, but she's amazing in this role there. It's about like a family at a resort kind of thing, or like a, yeah, family moved to resort and their pussy designed it or whatever, but turns out, hey look, there's like fucking sirens, or I guess like land sirens, on there. They have a very hypnotizing voice kind of thing and then that, um, they're uh controlled by that, like they can control people through that and I guess they have super strength and other generic monster kind of things like that. I thought it was a pretty cute movie. I liked it. It's a very ugly, boogly like, kind of like um creepy kind of movie I've seen in a while and stuff. There's also a thing too where they get uh people pregnant and stuff like they get females pregnant by just their fingers or something, I don't know. They didn't go into detail, I guess on that.

Speaker 1:

Um, I thought it was pretty cute. I really did enjoy it. Uh, it was just like a thing, because it's like going to be in the trailers you're not really sure on what's the bad thing is right, and then whenever it becomes like the whole human I'm sorry, the land, sirens, kind of thing. It was just like, oh, this is the direction we're going into. Um, it kind of reminds me of the watchers, just in the sense of the. You don't know what it is, what the villains or what the creatures are, until uh, going through it then it's like, oh, that's what it is, kind of thing. Uh, yeah, it was pretty cute. Like in the other one it was fairies. That's a crazy thing. It was like, just imagine, while watching the watchers and you're like, hey, what's the villain in this movie? And it's like it's fucking fairies, ancient fairies that got their wings cut off crazy. Okay, I really didn't enjoy the movie.

Speaker 1:

Another movie that I have seen recently is borderlands. It's uh, kevin hard and a bunch of ragtag team and stuff like that. Um, a lot of people talk about the comparison to the video game and stuff, which is obviously that's what it's based off. Uh, I haven't played the video game so I have no attachment to that or anything which. Um, as a movie kind of thing, I always just try to come in with blinders on and just like focus on what's the screen. The movie is just like I don't know, just like a whatever kind of movie. It's just, oh, cuckoo, yay, hell, yay, loving oh, and then uh, borderlands it was. It was just like a middle of a road, just like you know, whatever kind of thing. I I didn't get upset over this or like offended um, people, just. I guess maybe the only ones who might be justified are people who watch the no, play the games and stuff like that. But it's just your, it's just a movie and it was just an okay movie.

Speaker 1:

It was funny moments and stuff. There's one thing I noticed that they did early on, like a boss level thing where they have I forgot the character, the young character, the young girl. She detonates a bomb thing and then she climbs up on top of the thing and then her minions, things drop down to fight you or not. Not fight you, fight the main character, and I thought that was funny because that's exactly how like a lot of video games are. It's like you see the head boss and the head boss jumps up and then you fight the goons and then whenever you've done fighting the goons, something falls down and then you climb it up and then you fight the main boss, kind of thing. That's. It was funny how those parallels and stuff with that.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, I mean, I say it's a yay just because it doesn't matter. It's not a masterpiece, it's far from it. But I didn't feel cheated out of two hours or whatever the runtime was when leaving the theater. It was good enough just to watch. I don't think I would really say nays on it if I feel like I've been robbed of two hours kind of thing. Heck, it was a pretty cute I was.

Speaker 1:

I would say so I would say show, okay, let's see what else we got in this bad boy. Uh, yeah, those are the only I see. Those are the latest three movies I've seen. Uh, yeah, that's be what we'll be covering. On the movie things, I guess we'll jump into the la de la news. Okay, the news for today we're covering.

Speaker 1:

Okay, let's start off with captain america for brave new world, world, world, world. Yeah, that's what I said. Okay, this movie it's I'm really getting into because it's like a Harrison Ford. He's an incredible actor. Of course he's doing this for a fat check, and he also said that he's doing it because it looked like it was fun and hopefully you had fun with this, right, I think even on his worst day he's an incredible actor, or, like you know, he's just phoning in. It's him phoning in, it's a great performance. And with it's a great performance and with this um, you know, he turns to the red hulk and stuff behind the podium.

Speaker 1:

I was thinking, I was like you know what'd been funny? Uh, with the, the attempt on donald trump and stuff like that, of course, um, the intent on donald trump, if they would have, if he would have turned into like a whole thing or something like that or like did a power-up kind of thing, that would have been funny. That's how I was kind of picturing it. I'm pretty sure that's the reaction that people would have seen that kind of thing. Okay, with the, I think it's interesting. What am I talking about? Stop rambling.

Speaker 1:

Okay, the concept I like with the Brave New World is that when I first saw the name to it the name change soon I think it was a new world order before brave new road I remember thinking of it like a like oh, it's a brave new road, like you know, just like you know the corny, cheesy, like happy thing. But then with this, it felt like it was more of a um, oh, brave new, no, it feels like it's more like it's actually like dangerous kind of thing like that and I don't know. It's just like the more like off the trailers we have seen it's really sounding pretty cool. There's also baby falcon in this movie as well. Uh, there, there's also been uh leaked trailers to the thunderbolts. Uh, asterisk, it's a.

Speaker 1:

I think it's something it was with sentry, like all the ragtag team, um, they all get hired to go find sentry and they find sentry. They're like, hey, we all work for the same person, what's going on? And then sentry goes, sentry, he's like super power, he's flies, vulnerability, all the good fun stuff, super strength and stuff. I thought that was, um, I, the trailer has was released at d23, I believe, and then people recorded off their phone the disney. I believe they're not releasing the trailer because we got the captain america 4 coming up and then, um, so there's not the confusion with those, uh like, what's coming up next? I think they're gonna wait a while before they do that.

Speaker 1:

You know, just one movie at a time, tackle one at a time, hopefully, and also to hopefully, hopefully, captain america makes money. Anthony mackie he's an incredible actor and, yeah, I like to see this movie to do well and I, I'm sure it's a good movie, men, bare minimum. Uh, people like talking about marvel in the current states and stuff like that. But but I do think that even at their worst movies that they have had, like, let's say, fucking Quantum Realm or Love and Thunder, they're still good movies and stuff. You know. Yeah, at their worst they're good enough. You know, I don't think Marvel really has had like a piece of shit movie so far in their lineup. Heck, okay, let's just continue going down. This bad boy.

Speaker 1:

Oh, the show the gentleman has been a greenlit for a season two. It's a super adorable show. I've been really, um, I've seen the first season, half half of I saw with my little brother, junior shout out, junior. I saw like the first half of it and then I just never got around to finishing in. I do want to finish in this stuff. Right now I'm just tied up in game thrones and I should be finishing this by months and kind of thing. Um, yeah, the show is a spin-off of the boy no, I'm the boys.

Speaker 1:

The gentleman, the movie, oh yeah. And then it's directed by guy ritchie shout out guy ritchie. And, uh, it's the main character. League is theo james and, uh, he's an incredible actor. Um, he was also in the other movie, um, the other show called time travelers, white, that got canceled after season one. It didn't get the green light for season two, which is very sad because it's a credible love story and I wish it would have.

Speaker 1:

But hey, it happens and uh, oh, and speaking of theothene james as well, there is a teaser to the movie called the monkey and it's um, the teaser trailer is like monkey, it has like the, it's like a toy monkey that has, like, um, the metal thingies in their hand. They clap together and stuff. And then it's, uh, theo james and he's covered in blood. He's like, hey, what the hell is happening? Um, it's based off a short story of stephen king and the story what's the story I have to do? Oh, it's like a monkey. Every time it beats its drum or whatever or claps his hands together, it, um, it kills someone in his life and then I think it's like the monkey has reappeared whenever he's an adult and then he's trying to save his wife and kids, stuff like that. Um, it's theo james and stuff like that and incredible actor. So I'm definitely looking forward to that bad boy.

Speaker 1:

And then, um, oh, we also got, uh, another trailer. This is all d23 news in the way too. I'm running a little bit late with this, but hey, we're just gonna talk and chat about it. It's more my opinions on it. Uh, skeleton crew had a trailer release. It looks like a futuristic, um, fucking like uh.

Speaker 1:

So I think people have been saying like goonies and like, uh, stranger things. Uh, I've seen goonies, but I'm not really that into goonies. I've seen as a kid, just like briefly, whatever, and then stranger things. I haven't hopped on that yet. It just seems like a coming-of-age thing where it's like kids or it's just like, ah, we just want to run away and have fun, kind of thing. That's the way it's like looking at. And then there's uh, jude law drew law. Yeah, yeah, I remember, yeah, he's in it. He's like a jedi. Shout out to being a jedi, right? Um, I'm thinking it's pretty cool. And uh, it's like some kids, uh, like high school, middle schoolers or whatever and whatever the equivalent equivalent is to them and their adventures. Oh, they get on a ship and then it flies away and then shenanigans happen, right, uh, seems like a coming age kind of story, kind of like these kind of things. It's a very nostalgic to being a young child and thinking that's what was life gonna be like, kind of thing. Super cute, okay. And then, oh, then we also have like this is something that's.

Speaker 1:

Um, we got another trailer for, uh, craving the hunter, the um sony, uh, spider-man marvel universe or I think it's a solo movie. It's funny how, like their other j spider jason movies are like pretty sure, in different universe a pop, it's never very clear, it doesn't really matter. Um, there was extensive reshoots with this movie and then I believe it's because they I think the weekly pen talked about it um, to include the rhino. Like a dude he gets a shot and then he turns into a big rhino kind of thing. Um, like little likes the traditional rhino from the comics. Um, I think it's pretty cool.

Speaker 1:

Um, I don't have I understand a lot of people just fucking hate these movies, like madame webb or morpheus or the venoms and stuff, because it's how are you gonna have a spider-man movie with? No, how you can have a spider-man villain uh story without spider-man? I don't think it matters. It's a standalone thing, can always be good and it's not. Like this is that version of uh characters and stuff. I have preaches so many fucking times and something that I I still sat on my snowbox too.

Speaker 1:

It doesn't matter about spider-man, because it's just a concept of character and then expanding it going forward. The issue is, it's just, it hasn't matter about spider-man, because it's just a concept of character and then expanding it going forward. The issue is, it's just, it hasn't done, been done well enough. You know well, I have seen madame webb, I see morpheus. Third, I think madame webb's better than morpheus.

Speaker 1:

Um, it's a. They're just the execution was just lost in the mix or whatever. I don't know what happened, who knows. Let me just make sure I'm recording. Yep, that bad boy is going. I don't know what's going on, but I do have like faith.

Speaker 1:

Um, no, I mean it, it can be good and there's no reason why to walk in just already hating this. And it's like spider-man, we're gonna get fucking spider-man movies in the future. We have been getting a lot of spider-man, so it's like it's not like we're missing out, kind of thing. And it's like spider-man, we're gonna get fucking spider-man movies in the future. We have been getting a lot of spider-man, so it's like it's not like we're missing out, kind of thing. And it's like people say that you know sony should sell back their rights back to disney, but it's like, nah, fuck disney. You know, that's the way I kind of think of it. It's just like let them do their own thing, like they shouldn't have all the keys to the kingdom, whatever. You know, they paid, they paid. It's their character. So it's like characters. I mean, I don't see anything wrong with it, it's just I just wish I had a foot to stand on. Well, maybe the venom movies. They've been okay, they've been more than decent enough, and that's. I guess that's the only leg I get to stand on, because the other spider jason movies have not been good, but or good enough or whatever. So, yeah it, they can be good. They just haven't been and whatever, I don't know, I'm just rambling, I'm just rambling.

Speaker 1:

Okay, uh, we have, uh, there's first looks to and let and. Or uh with and. Or it's a no, I'm sorry. And. Or season two first looks of it and or season one was like the best thing ever. I really enjoyed it and stuff. Um, I think and or no, wait, I'm just losing my head. Okay, with the trailer, it shows. You know, it was like a d23 thing again when they didn't release it to the main, uh, public and stuff super excited for the series. It's the season one was like some of the best movies ever, okay. And or season two. I'm really excited for that um in the trailer, which is a d23 exclusive um first looks or trailer, or something. I think it is gonna be super cute. It's just um, I think there's time jumps within it and it's gonna lead right up into um rogue one. Yeah, I think it's gonna be pretty cute, okay. And then, okay, let's look at the rest of this bad boy, okay. And then we have the counting uh two coming out april 25th 2025 showing uh, brad, no, ben affleck, shout out, ben affleck.

Speaker 1:

Uh, there was the monkey. The monkey that I thought was pretty funny. It's a um, no, what am I? I'm repeating myself again.

Speaker 1:

I meant to say a bear cub body was found in central park a while ago. And then, uh, the candidate for presidency, uh, robert f kennini jr has talked about it and he has said that. Um, he said that he found a body or his. Someone hit a baby cup and then he was like, hey, I'll take his skin in and you know, freeze the mean. And then he goes to a dinner party in the city of new york. And then he was like, oh crap, I need to go to the airport. I don't have anywhere to put this dead body right now, I can't go back to the city. So then he, he just leaves it in central parks as a goof saying, um, what does he say? He says that he's doing it so that, um, that it would look like a cyclist has hit him. No, hit the beer, and that's just so. What the fuck? Uh, I don't understand it and it's uh, it's just kind of funny. It's just kind of funny. I don't know what to make out of it and it's just funny to me. It just makes me sound more crazier and stuff like that. Okay, I think I want to end this episode. Just got a couple more.

Speaker 1:

The two other things two other things I'll talk about today. Okay, attack on titan, the last attack. Uh, they're going to re-release it in theaters in in november 8th, 2024 this year. Uh, I'm definitely gonna do it. I really like the attack on titan.

Speaker 1:

Uh, I like the parallels. Like, after reading god emperor dune, I see a lot of parallels with the uh character, uh leto to uh leto atreides 2 or leto 2, atreides, whatever. And, um, you know aaron jaeger, uh, just, first of all, it's just like, uh, they're bred into this. They have special abilities, um, they have like a weird thing when it comes to like, you know, knowing the future or like time travel, and uh, yeah, it's in a weird way that aaron has his own prescience and then, uh, becoming the villain kind of thing like, or becoming the, the bad guy. I thought that was interesting. They both do it.

Speaker 1:

They both had to get fanatics. You know, with aaron's he had the aaron heads or whatever. And then leto had the fish speakers it was. It was something interesting for Lois that they had and then they had to fucking murk a lot of people just to ensure the survival. And then they had to have their like friends or like people close to them, be the ones to kill them, like, um, aaron had them, I forgot their names and then, like leto had uh duncan, idaho and uh sonia, sonia, I think I can't remember her name, but like he kind of like manufactured his downfall kind of thing.

Speaker 1:

And then the same thing with aaron jaeger. He had to do that and the people who took him down, his like close people, they had to um, be the ones and like to do it and then they took over and ruled after or, you know, showed a better or just continued humanity going forward. And then I guess that's another thing too. It's just humanity that's like a big factor in both. Like they talk about humanity a lot like leto too, he's doing it for the survival of humanity. And then with aaron jaeger, he was, um, uh, what was he doing, for he? Yeah, just like to save humanity.

Speaker 1:

It was on a smaller scale kind of thing, because it's just one planet, but it was just interesting cons, or just interesting to see the parallels between the two and then becoming like a huge monster thing and then the head being just still by itself, like in the book. Little two's head, no, his face is still his face, or what would be his face as an adult, I would assume. And then, uh, little, no, I'm sorry, aaron jaeger's head in the side, the monster was just his head or whatever. I think that was pretty interesting kind of thing. And then just turning to a monster, I guess, just in general, um, yeah, and then like having people turn against them fanatics. It's funny the parallels. Uh, I'm definitely gonna do it. It's like I saw the parts coming out as they were, and then they were fucking like a long time apart between um parts and stuff. So I feel like watching all at once and watching again it's gonna be a big, major refresh and then seeing it and it's all together it's gonna be different experience. Yeah, I'm looking forward to it.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, last thing I'll talk about for the day is gonna be the Drake and Josh Drake Bell has talked about. There's been, like you know, a lot more support for him going on recently because of his. What he has talked about on the quiet on set, about a certain uh I forgot their name uh, josh pecker or something I can't remember. I can't remember exactly, but, um, yeah, some charges against him about that. He got sexually assaulted and stuff like that while he was at his time in uh, nickelodeon and then, uh, you know, he got a lot more support and they people have asked about like what would he? Would he like to do? Draken, joss, uh, reboot. He said yeah, but uh, he's.

Speaker 1:

He said an interesting thing. Well, I think it's pretty interesting. He said, instead of like just doing like a reboot reboot thing or like a continuation, just do a completely new show with m2 and just be called like drake and josh, because their names are drake and josh. So it's like you kind of create a new dynamic or new kind of like versions of the characters of themselves and then just roll off of that. I think that's a pretty cool idea, honestly, because it's something different. But it's like I guess it's supposed to be like, maybe like a spiritual um sequel to the series. Okay, um, who knows who cares? Whatever, if it happens, it happens.

Speaker 1:

Uh, let's go through my watch list. Uh, gin talk, let's see what I've been watching. I have seen those three movies and that's been pounding on really hard with the um game of thrones, pretty far by the ends, months, and I should be done with it, hopefully pretty soon. It's been a, it's been a hoot. I've been having that time with it. Um, I don't see the peakness that people have talked about yet. But, yeah, hopefully I do soon and stuff, um, yeah, I'll keep it updated, hopefully maybe by the maybe not next episode, but the following episode. I should should be completely caught up now. I should be completely done with game of thrones. Yeah, hopefully, but we'll see. Thank you, uh, I think that's gonna be it for this episode, but, uh, thank you.

Speaker 1:
