In this episode of The RG10 Podcast, ceramicist Emma Payne talks about the Henley Arts Trail, which will mark its 20th anniversary over the May bank holiday weekend this year.
The trail is a community event across Henley-on-Thames and surrounding villages, involving 280 artists in over 30 venues, opening their studios or holding joint exhibitions to showcase their work to the public.
Emma discusses the growth of the event now spearheaded by Wendy Penrose and powered by social media. Venues include a diverse range of locations including wineries and members' clubs.
The conversation covers the significance of direct artist-customer interactions, the solitary nature of being an artist, and Emma's own experience as a ceramicist.
Additionally, she highlights the Art Spark competition aimed at engaging young artists.
